Prologue

It was a normal day at Konohagakure's famed ninja academy. Parents, older siblings, and guardians could be seen all around the school grounds getting ready to pick up their children once they would be dismissed. As soon as the school bell rang, one could hear the excited shouts of most of the children as they ran out of the academy doors and into the arms of their family members. There was an exception to this however, one dark haired child. With a serious expression the boy did not say bye or even talk to any friends as he left for the day. He might have talked to some family members, but they were all dead at this point. The last survivor of the Uchiha ignored all the "see you later Sasuke-kun!" comments from his fans and instead continued his walk.

There was another exception to this as well. One blond student, who many considered the dead-last of the academy, was still behind at school. It was a weird sight to see, no one would ever expect to see the child who probably hated school the most to be sticking around at the academy after class was dismissed. Did he stay behind to study? Nope. Did he stay behind to train? Nope. Did he stay behind to ask questions to the teacher? Yes, but not for school-related questions.

"Hey, hey, Iruka Sensei! Can you teach me some cool new jutsu? Like the big fire blasts that Sasuke-teme does, or the cool earth bullets that jiji makes!?" Exclaimed the energetic student, Naruto Uzumaki.

The teacher could only sigh in response. "Naruto, we've already gone over this… you have to learn the basic academy jutsus at least before we can even start thinking about all those other jutsus. Like your transformation jutsu for example, today you couldn't even properly transform into Lord Third Hokage."

"But I don't want to learn that jutsu..." replied Naruto with a pout. But suddenly an idea came to his mind and a mischievous grin grew on the jinchuriki's face. "You want to see a transformation jutsu? I'll show you one!"

'Show me the transformation jutsu… what is he talking about? Why do I have a bad feeling about this...' mused Iruka.

"Sexy Jutsu!" shouted our protagonist as a cloud of smoke suddenly appeared around him. The young child's figure was soon replaced with that of an older female. She had long blond hair tied in two bunches, and had a curvaceous figure, with little clouds covering the more "significant" locations. It left those areas to the imagination of the mind which only made the jutsu more effective. To someone like Iruka Umino, who by Naruto was classified as a pervert, it was one of their worst nightmares.

"NARUTOOO!" Screamed the ninja academy teacher who now had trails of blood streaming down his nostrils.

A few hours later…

'Why did he get so mad… I thought it was pretty funny… either way it's his fault for being such a pervert!' thought the blond haired aspiring ninja. After the "unfortunate" incident with his teacher, Naruto was punished with extra homework for the day. The child now sat on his bed looking over the pile of books and paper that needed to be either read or filled out. 'There's now way I'm doing this, I never do the homework for the academy anyway!' thought our main character who was now a bit more relieved with the idea of skipping out on homework.

But then one book underneath the others caught his eye. Pushing aside the other "boring scraps of paper" Naruto picked up one with the title "Third Great Ninja War". But the title was not what caught his interest. No, it was the person on the cover of the book. Right below the title could be seen a the picture of a man who looked exactly like the fourth face on the Hokage mountain. The Fourth Hokage.

Naruto detested most of the academy work, and a large portion of that was due to all the reading and writing. But it was a different case when his hero, the "Yellow Flash" of the Konoha was involved. 'Hmm… maybe it wouldn't hurt to read this. Maybe they talk about some cool fights or jutsus!' Thought the once uninterested academy student as he flipped open the book to the first page. He was not disappointed.

Many events that transpired during the war were recorded. One such battle was between Minato who at the time was a jonin, and Ay who was a ninja from kumogakure that later went on to become the Fourth Raikage. According to eye-witness statements from after the battle, Minato had managed to outspeed his opponent, and considering that his foe was considered to have unmatched speed, that feat suggested that Minato was the fastest in all the villages. Along with his many other achievements during the war, the soon-to-be Fourth Hokage earned the title of Yellow Flash and was starting to become feared throughout all the land. After he managed to single-handedly defeat over a thousand ninja from Iwagakure, many even considered him to be the strongest shinobi alive.

'He's so cool! Dattebayo!" Thought Naruto as he started to become more engrossed with the book than he had ever been with any other. Time flew by as he kept reading about the many battles during the war, and he even managed to learn more than he ever had at the academy. The book contained many detailed explanations on the strategies used by the various Kage and the different village advisors, all of which was slowly being drawn into the head of our main character. Despite all that however, one important fact stuck out and brought a frown to his face.

'So many people died during this war… and there were even a lot of ninja my age that had to go fight. I haven't even gone on a real mission yet, let alone being on the battlefield.' Thought our protagonist as he decided to take a break from reading. He was now laying down on his bed and was simply staring outside the window at the stars above.

'I want to become Hokage, and not just that, I want to be the greatest Hokage there ever was! Better than even Lord Fourth!' His mind then travelled back to all the times that he had felt alone. No parents or friends that he could spend time with, and any time he tried to talk to someone new they would just brush him off. 'Iruka sensei and jiji are the only people I can actually talk to, at the very least I want to keep talking with them.' mused Naruto, now deep in thought. 'I don't want anyone to go through what I did. The pain. The loneliness. It's not fair that children have to fight in wars… if I am going to be Hokage I need to lay my life down on the line too… am I ready for that yet?'

The blond haired child turned his head to the other side and looked at the clock ticking away. 'Huh? It's already this late?' questioned the boy. Time had gone by quickly, and it was now an hour past midnight. Slowly Naruto arose from his bed and started to walk to the bathroom. 'I need to get to sleep, otherwise I'll be late to school tomorrow and Iruka sensei will yell at me again. First the sexy jutsu and now thi-' the last Uzumaki suddenly froze in the middle of his bedroom, for an idea had popped into his head. A eureka moment. If this was a cartoon you would probably see a lightbulb appear above his head. Soon enough, the widest, most sinister grin appeared across the jinchuriki's face, one that makes the previous grin with Iruka pale in comparison.

Hokage Building

By this point in time most of the workers at the Hokage building had retired for the night. All that was left were a few anbu and the person they were tasked with watching over, the Third Hokage. He had many monikers, the "Professor", the "God of Shinobi", not to mention that he had even trained all three of the legendary sannin. He was hailed as the greatest shinobi of his time for quite a while, which was only supported by the fact that he had still managed to maintain the hokage position at such an old age. As such, he was feared by many. However, if one were to see him now, they would not feel the same way. He just looked like someone tired from working overtime.

'Finally done with this paperwork… why does it take so long every damn day!' though the God of Shinobi who was by now completely irate. He signaled with a secret gesture to dismiss his anbu for the night, as he proceeded to stand up and get ready to return home. Glancing up at the clock he could see that it was now nearly 1:30 AM. With a sigh he thought 'I still have to set up the seal locks on the building, I guess I'll have to skip reading Icha Icha Tactics for tonight, just when it was getting to the good parts too…' He had just finished putting away his work when he suddenly heard a knock at the front of his door.

'Who could it be at this hour?' wondered the old Hokage, preparing himself in case there was an enemy shinobi right outside the door. 'Did I dismiss my anbu too early? Not that it matters, I don't sense any palpable killing intent...' "You may enter." Spoke the Third Hokage just loud enough for the mysterious person to hear.

"Hey Jiji!" yelled Naruto as he came bursting through the doors into the Hokage office. "Teach me some cool jutsu! I want to be stronger than the Fourth Hokage!" spoke the Uzumaki as he came to a halt right in front of Hiruzen's desk.

With a sigh, the God of Shinobi responded by saying "why are you still up this late Naruto? Don't you have to go to the academy tomorrow?" as he shifted from a slightly defensive stance to a more relaxed one.

"Hehe yea but it's boring… teach me some jutsu instead! I read in a book that you're called the "Professor" since you know a bunch of jutsu, teach me some!" Responded the blond academy student with excitement.

"Focus on the academy jutsu and material for now Naruto, maybe I'll teach you a few jutsu in a few years when you're a bit older." Responded Hiruzen as he laughed.

'There were kids who were already chunin by the time they were my age and knew way more jutsu than me back when the wars were going on. It's not enough, I have to learn something. I guess I have to use it…' thought Naruto right before telling the person in front of him "well don't blame me for what's about to happen then, I have no choice. Sexy Justu!" Once again a cloud of smoke appeared, and once again coming out of the smoke could be seen an older female version of Naruto, not leaving much to the imagination.

It was an effective jutsu against Iruka. However, against the God of Shinobi who had maintained the title of strongest shinobi amongst all nations for quite some time, it was extremely effective. The jutsu once again resulted in a massive nosebleed for its victim, and this time enough blood was lost for them to pass out.

Leaving Naruto to do as he pleased.

'Success! Now to find some scrolls or weapons or anything that will help me.' Thought the caster of the sexy jutsu as he left the room to find what he desired. After sifting through several rooms the jinchuriki finally stumbled upon one that was nearly filled with scrolls of all shapes, sizes, and colours.

'What should I take? I can't take too much or he'll notice… let's see…' mused Naruto as he examined a shelf containing what appeared to be water style jutsus. 'Water style? Nah, not for me… Oh! What's this?' thought our main character as he noticed a book with the title "The Tale of a Gutsy Shinobi". 'Hmm, sounds interesting, I'll take it for now, Jiji shouldn't notice that it's missing. Now what else...' continued Naruto as he was flipping through some books. It went on like this for a few more minutes when the blond haired child was about to give up.

'I can't take any of this! Either the scrolls are too big and Jiji will definitely take them back, or the words are too complicated for me to understand… damn it!' thought the jinchuriki as he shook his head in frustration. He was about to give up when he noticed a book on the middle of the floor.

'Huh? Was that always there? How did I not notice it?' pondered Naruto with a confused expression. The book was so conspicuous that anyone should have noticed it immediately upon entering the room. But for some unknown reason, he did not notice it until just recently.

Reaching down to pick it up, Naruto brought the mysterious book closer to his eyes to read the title. With the aid of the moonlight peering in from the back window, the Uzumaki was able to make out the title "Sensory Skills Special Edition Volumes 1-9".

This piqued Naruto's interest. Although he may not have paid much attention in class, he was still aware of many types of jutsu styles and types. From the academy spars with other clan ninja such as Shikamaru he learned of the shadow possession. From watching the occasional fight between ninja he learned of the elemental jutsus. From the recent book he read, he learned of some special kekkei genkais and other important jutsus used for necessities such as communication. Sensory shinobi had been briefly mentioned, but the orange-clad boy still knew next to nothing about them.

'I didn't notice this book the first time, hopefully Jiji won't notice it's gone too.' Thought one hopeful Naruto. He decided to take this book as well, although it was significantly larger than the previous book. Looking around one last time, the blond child quickly left through the door and out onto the Konoha streets to make sure he wouldn't be stopped.

His timing was perfect, as just a few moments later, the resurrected God of Shinobi had finally made his way to the special jutsu room. It was a room off-limits to the normal populace, and even the most highly-accomplished ninja could only enter with the permission of the Hokage. As such, having the contents of the room be leaked was a grave crime against the Village Hidden in the Leave, one with a very strict punishment. The "Professor" entered the room hoping that what he would find would be all the scrolls and books, without some missing. He didn't want to have to punish Naruto, but if the other elders heard of this anything could happen.

Looking around the Third Hokage did not notice anything immediately wrong. Sure a couple scrolls were unfurled and a few books were out of their normal places, but nothing much had appeared to have changed. Upon further inspection however, Hiruzen noticed the disappearance of one book.

'The Tale of a Gutsy Shinobi… it's not too bad that it was taken. The book was dedicated to Naruto after all, I can let him keep it' thought the old Hokage with a smile at remembering one of his former students, the frog sage, Jiraiya of the sannin, who was also the author of the novel. After careful scrutiny of the rest of the room and deducing that nothing else had been taken, Hiruzen decided to not press the matter any further. 'I should ask him what he thought about the book later, I look forward to seeing his reaction to having the same name as the character in that book' thought the God of Shinobi as he began to walk home to rest for the night.

The next day…

It was around 4 pm, the point at which the academy day had already finished and the students had enough time to return home. Once again there was a blond student who remained in the classroom, but not due to the same reason as yesterday. He had not finished his homework from the prior day, and as a result was forced to stay behind at school for detention with Iruka while completing some new work.

Luckily the work was centered around the Great Shinobi Wars, and with his newfound knowledge, Naruto was able to successfully answer the questions for the first time.

Which left a shocked and confused Iruka. 'Is this really Naruto? How did he get everything right?' thought the academy teacher as he finished grading the assignment, and by this time Naruto was already heading home.

'I didn't get to learn any new techniques since I fell asleep as soon as I got back home yesterday' thought the jinchuriki as he briskly walked towards his estate. 'And then I had to go to the academy and stay longer than usual…' sighed Naruto in frustration.

Upon reaching his apartment he immediately threw his bag and shoes aside and headed to his bedroom to pick up where he left off the previous day. On the boy's bed lay two books of different sizes. The first and the smaller book was the "Tale of a Gutsy Shinobi" and the second much larger book was the book containing the supposed "sensory skills". It had a red cover on the front, but there was not much else apart from the title. The author's name wasn't even mentioned. Deciding to start with the latter, he opened up to the first page and was met with an author's note.

'Congratulations! You have been selected to learn the special sensory skills listed in this book due to your exceptional sensory skills. Not just anyone can learn these techniques you know, they require natural talent. If you don't have the proper potential you won't even be aware of the presence of this book, hell, some people probably walked by without ever noticing it, so I wouldn't be surprised if you are reading this waayyy later than I first wrote it. The jutsus and tips detailed in this book are at the pinnacle of the sensory shinobi arts, at least during my time. Take your time learning them and enjoy! I hope this book fell into the right hands… if you are evil stop reading this! And for those with a good heart, the techniques in this book are some of my most prized possessions and they mean a lot to my legacy, so please use them well and take good care of them.

By the way, if you are wondering who I am… keep reading to find out! If you manage to make it to volume 10 you'll be in for a big surprise (I think)!'

As soon as Naruto had finished reading the preamble, a confused expression formed on his face. The eccentricness and tone of the author was something that was weird to say the least. 'At least they don't seem like a bad person. If they're telling the truth then I'll be able to learn some cool new jutsu and become an awesome shinobi! They sound really advanced!' mused the blond boy with excitement. 'Let's see… the first chapter… Skills in stea...'

A few months later

It was that time of the year. The next batch of academy students had completed their academy training and education, and were about to take the final steps towards becoming a full-fledged ninja. Not much had changed in the past few months. More specifically, the dead last of the current graduating class was still the dead last. Not for a lack of training or skill, mind you. Since Naruto started practicing in the sensory arts during the last few months, he had managed to gain a few new tricks. But he decided to hide them for a few specific reasons.

The most important one being that using new techniques that no one knew of, at least in the academy, would lead to many suspicions being raised. And given Naruto's already problematic reputation, it would no doubt give rise to many issues down the line. Many would question how he managed to learn them, or who even wanted to teach them to him. Another reason was that these techniques would not have given him much of an advantage in the academy exercises, instead they were more useful in… other areas…

There was also the idea that hiding his new abilities was also a form of practice for Naruto. But the final most important reason that Naruto hid his abilities was something he came to decide after reading the second of his 'stolen' books.

As he put on his bright orange jacket, slipped his sandals on, and wore his trademark goggles, the jinchuriki was locking the door to his apartment, and started heading off in the direction of the academy. On the way there, he started to remember one of the things that the first chapter told him to do when he initially started practicing.

Flashback

'Before we can start with learning sensory skills, it is important that you first learn how to hide yourself. What good is a sensor that is easy to sense? Being able to conceal your presence will give you a good idea of what to look out for when you yourself start using sensory techniques, and it'll also be useful for almost anything ninja-related! So use the following technique to start concealing your presence. It will allow you to suppress your chakra to the point that it blends into the natural chakra surrounding you, which will leave others completely unable to trace you. The technique after that will allow you to mask any sounds, and then the chapter ends with a technique that will make you completely invisible! You won't be able to fight in that invisible state, but it is still useful for hiding, sneak attacks, stealth missions and things like that. These techniques do require decent chakra control, so before you start learning them, start with the tree climbing and water-walking exercises. As for how to do them…'

During the first few weeks, Naruto spent most of the time practicing walking up trees and then proceeding on to walking on water. It took nearly two months, but he managed to achieve it. Following that, he could finally start working on the stealth techniques. He could not practice them during academy spars and the such since they wouldn't provide any advantage in hand-to-hand combat, and it would harmfully affect the completion of his other goal. So he instead practiced by trying to suppress his increasing chakra levels, which leads up to today.

Flashback end

So lost in his thoughts, Naruto didn't realize that he had already reached the academy. Walking in through the doors he found the class to be lively, almost everyone was present, and by the sound of their voices no one seemed nervous to be taking the final test.

Over near the desk of the last Uchiha could be seen a group of girls arguing over who would have the 'privilege' of sitting with Sasuke-kun himself. Amidst all their bickering, two girls in particular stood out, that being the pink haired Sakura and the blond haired Ino. They were both in their normal attire, sporting red and purple clothing respectively.

It wasn't just his abilities that had changed during the past few months, no, there was a significant personality change in Naruto as well. But perhaps it would be more accurate to describe as a shift in focus for the blond boy. 'For the sake of doing that, I need to act like my past-self here' decided Naruto with a sigh.

"Hey Sakura-chan there's an open seat next to me!" spoke Naruto enthusiastically as he did many times in the past.

With a sudden flip of a switch Sakura's ecstatic expression towards Sasuke was replaced with a furious one towards Naruto "SHUT UP BAKA!" screamed the pink haired girl, after which she turned back to the last Uchiha to continue her attempts at sitting next to him.

Wincing at the sudden shift in tone, Naruto could only sigh in resignation as he sat at a desk away from all the noise. 'Let's just get on with the exam...'

As if on cue, Iruka immediately came into the classroom. Upon seeing him however, about half the class became quiet while the other half continued to talk. Eyebrow twitching in frustration, Iruka shouted "QUIET!" after which everyone seemed to sit at attention. "First I would like to say that it has been a great few years with you all as my students…" continued the scarred-nose teacher. "I enjoyed teaching you all even if there were some occasional difficulties" said the chunin as he particularly glanced at Choji, Shikamaru, Kiba, and especially Naruto. "But overall you are all precious to me as my students. Regardless of whether you pass or fail the exams today, I hope all of you the best in the future, and if you are ever in need of any assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to me. Now as for the genin exam, it will be the same as it has in years past. You will need to perform the clone jutsu. When I call out your name, come over to the next room, and we will conduct the test. Could Shino first come up..."

After the Aburame clan heir had left with Iruka to the next classroom to do the test, the rest of the academy students immediately went back to talking amongst themselves.

'Hmmm, thanks to the exercises in the book I can now perform the clone jutsu, but it wouldn't make sense if I did, I always failed to perform the jutsu before this… what do I do…' mused the Uzumaki. Since his last name started with 'U' he would be one of the last to be called up so he had some time to think of what to do. 'If I fail I should still be able to do that, but it will be much more difficult... I guess I have to fail for now, I can't raise too many suspicions, not yet at least'

A few hours later

The events proceeded as Naruto had planned them to, and he was now sitting outside the academy on a lone swing under a tree, planning what to do next. Most of the students and their families had already left, which was a good thing, since the boy underneath the tree could be seen with a serious and contemplative expression. While not out of the ordinary, for someone like Naruto who was not known for a pensive personality, it would definitely confuse other people if they were to see it. 'So now I'll have to…' his thoughts were cut off as he felt someone approaching him from behind. Immediately slouching and changing his expression to a more sullen one so as to not act suspicious, Naruto returned to his "expected" demeanor.

"Naruto" spoke the other academy teacher. He was slightly above average in terms of height, almost reaching 180 cm. He had long light blue hair framing the sides of his face, and a clothed headband tied covering his head. He had on the standard Konoha vest signifying that he was a chunin and the standard black pants and sandals of shinobi. "Iruka sensei may be strict, but don't blame him. He lost his parents when he was young and only wants the best for his students." explained Mizuki. "Don't feel too disheartened by this".

This threw Naruto off. Kindness - care, and the like were generally unfamiliar to him. The amount of people that had ever shown any form of them could be counted on one hand, Iruka, the Third Hokage, the Ichirakus, and… no one else. Mizuki had been just like the rest, many times ignoring him and not performing the duties of a typical teacher, often using that glare that so many used before to deny Naruto's existence... all in all not the kindest person towards the blond boy. Trying to process the information and come up with a response that best fits the "Naruto" persona, he replied "Mizuki Sensei… but why does he only pick on me".

With a smile the blue haired chunin responded "because he sees himself in you… he wants you to be strong in the right way… try to understand Iruka's feelings, since you also have no parents"

This statement almost made Naruto drop his fake persona. Iruka was one of the most precious people in the world to him, and hearing the comparison brought a hint of empathy out of the jinchuriki. Shaking off those thoughts, he replied by saying "but I wish I had graduated…"

Although he didn't show it on the outside, inside his mind Mizuki was ecstatic. Deciding to take advantage of the moment, he said "well then, I'll tell you a special secret. There is a secret academy graduation exam where if you manage to steal the scroll of forbidden seals and learn the jutsu inside you will be allowed to graduate!" finished the academy teacher with a smile so innocent you would not believe what he was plotting.

All of a sudden the pieces of the puzzle came together in Naruto's head. 'So that's why he was acting so nice… this is what he was after. There's no way there's some secret exam like this. Even if there was, it would be way too difficult for an academy student to accomplish. Ever since I stole from the jutsu storage that time a few months ago, the security has been much tighter around the hokage building. You would need at least a few jonin-level shinobi to even get inside the room. He definitely has a plan to make it easier for me, but even with that it will still be extremely difficult. But… this is a good chance for me to put my new techniques to use and see how useful the stealth jutsus from the book really are, and if all goes well I might even be able to learn a few jutsus from the scroll or become a ninja! I'll agree for now...'

"Really! Thank you Mizuki sensei! So when can I start?" spoke the Uzumaki with newfound excitement.

"Good! You can start tonight at…

Later that night…

Residing in the right building of the three main Hokage buildings was the room containing many scrolls and books of forbidden techniques, special Konoha jutsu, and more. It was a medium sized room, with the contents inside barely fitting. The shelves were nearly filled and there was not enough space for more than three people to be inside the room at once. From the outside it looked just like any other room. There weren't even any shinobi guarding it, which made it seem as though it was just another one of the many rooms in the building. However, that was far from the truth. In reality, some of the Konoha anbu were lurking around guarding the building.

Hiruzen had decided to reinforce security after the unfortunate incident a few months ago. Not that anyone would ever dare attempt to steal from the Hokage building, anyone that wasn't Naruto at least, but it was more of a precautionary measure. There was also the fact that there were some foreign ambassadors visiting the village, and while he trusted them, he was not about to take any risks. After the tragic incident a few years ago when a Cloud village ambassador attempted to kidnap the Hyuuga clan heiress, Hiruzen had been a bit more skeptical of trusting those who profited from Konoha's losses. To further ensure that nothing would be stolen, he decided to put anbu to the task, something that Naruto found out during one of his pranks.

There were still some chunin and jonin workers that could be seen walking through the building most likely managing some village affair or another. And while some of them were not the strongest shinobi, if someone were to attempt a theft, the workers would be able to hold the criminal off long enough until help from the anbu, or even Hokage would arrive. Still, none of them knew of what was going to happen tonight.

A few dozen metres away from the building could be seen one blond haired child dressed from head to toe in orange. Definitely colours one would want to avoid if they were trying to be stealthy, but it didn't matter to the person in question. Scrutinizing the building and any possible entrances aside from the main doors was Naruto Uzumaki. 'The room is on the second floor, maybe I can get in through that window… I'll have to be really careful, I don't know where any of the guardian anbu are hiding… breaking in with these clothes might be pushing it, but if I can that just means I'm that awesome! I can use the invisibility technique to get up to the room, but I won't be able to move too fast or the jutsu will cancel. After that…'

Inside the building…

'Another day of guarding the building…' thought one fairly large anbu wearing a boar mask that covered part of his long brown hair, as he hid in the shadows with a special sealing technique. Glancing over to another nearby spot, he looked at one of the other guards for the night. A female anbu that was of medium height with long black haired tied in a ponytail wearing a tiger mask could be seen. While this was not a new job to the anbu, it was definitely a mundane and repetitive one. However, being anbu of one of the great shinobi villages had inspired determination in themselves to stay determined and keep vigilant.

Then unexpectedly, one light blue haired chunin came into the building calling out for help. Moving out from hiding and next to chunin, the tiger masked anbu asked in a serious tone "is something wrong?"

"Yes could you please come with me? There are some issues with the village barrier that need to be resolved" asked Mizuki in a panicked tone.

With a nod from the female anbu the two took off, leaving behind three anbu to guard the building.

Suddenly the loud CRACK, that could only be the sound of something breaking came from a window on the third floor. Immediately two of the anbu rushed upstairs to discover the cause of the sound, and upon reaching the window all that could be seen was a large rock that appeared to have caused the damage. Taking a glance outside the window, they did not notice anyone that could have thrown the rock. Deciding to keep investigating, the two anbu remained on the third floor.

The lone anbu with the boar mask on the second floor was beginning to feel somewhat shocked. The events that had just happened were completely out of the ordinary. However, due to his many years of shinobi training, he was not worried for his safety nor did he feel that the building was at risk from distractions of this level.

That calmness was soon replaced however, when he heard the loud explosion right outside the Hokage building. With his instincts as a ninja now kicking in, the last anbu left to find the source of the explosion.

Leaving the floor completely unguarded.

If one of the anbu remained, they may have noticed the door to the jutsu room opening by itself, as though a ghost was trying to break into the room.

However, it wasn't a ghost. It was Naruto Uzumaki.

A few minutes prior, our main character had thrown a large rock at the window on the third floor, in order to distract some of the anbu, they could not see him from the window as had already used his invisibility jutsu by then. Afterwards, the Uzumaki had set up a paper bomb, that he had left over from the academy training, a few metres away from the building so as to not damage it or hurt anyone. Once again he used his invisibility jutsu upon activating the bomb. He was just in time, since no sooner than that a large anbu was immediately at the location.

This was a dangerous moment for the blond, since one wrong move would result in failure. Using the other techniques to mask his chakra and make no noise, he slowly began to scale the walls of the hokage building. Once he made it to the second floor he opened the window, and headed inside the room.

Now inside the room, Naruto thought 'they'll be back soon, I have to find the scroll quick… where... where… there it is!' As he glanced over at the scroll of forbidden seals on the bottom shelf near the back of the room. Just as he was about to reach the scroll however, he heard the door to the room open.

One of the anbu that was investigating the broken window had returned to the second floor to keep watch and make sure that nothing had happened. As he opened the door to the jutsu room to check, he noticed that the room looked as it usually had. There didn't seem to be anyone in the room, and all the shelves were still organized indicating that they had not been touched. Not noticing anything out of the usual, he closed the door and continued on to check the other rooms.

Now visible, Naruto could be seen breathing a sigh of relief. 'Whew, if I hadn't been preparing for it, I might have been caught when the anbu decided to check this room. Good thing I activated my invisibility jutsu right on time… Now that I have the scroll I can get out of here.' Without hesitation the blond boy immediately tied the scroll to his back and quietly opened the door to the room. Before he could make it out of the building completely however, the anbu had returned. It was too late either way, since now that the door had been closed, Naruto could take his time and slowly, quietly, and invisibly leave out through the main doors. Once he was out of the building, Naruto ran towards the forest clearing where he was supposed to meet up with Mizuki.

Upon reaching the destination, he took a seat on the ground, unfurled the scroll, and began reading. 'This shadow clone jutsu looks pretty interesting' thought the last Uzumaki as he began working on learning the jutsu in the scroll.

Some time later...

'Yes! I was able to become a ninja!' thought Naruto as he sat at home after the long day. Following the events of the Hokage building break-in, he had successfully managed to put on his normal demeanor and act accordingly, in order to not raise any suspicions from Mizuki, and then Iruka. There was one time however, where he acted based on his honest emotion. Finding out that he was the jinchuriki of the kyuubi was a hard pill to swallow, and it definitely did not make the blond boy feel happy. However, hearing Iruka defend him made him feel a lot better, and for the first time he cried with true tears of happiness, not faking. After he was able to beat Mizuki, he was also awarded with a headband and officially became a shinobi of Konoha.

The experience had only solidified one of the new goals that Naruto had. As in the words of the main character of the book, the 'Tales of a Gutsy Shinobi', Naruto now thought 'if there is such a thing as peace in this world I will find it... For the kind people in the world like Iruka sensei I have to do it! Now that I can leave the village when I go on missions, I will be able to find members to join my new group, and with my master plan, we will for once and for all bring peace to this world! I'm not strong enough yet though, I could never beat Mizuki if it weren't for the shadow clone jutsu, so I'll have to hide my identity for now. If someone found out that I was the leader to any group, it would all fall apart. I'm not strong enough to defend my group yet. So for now I will continue to act like my previous self while around everyone in Konoha, and hide my identity as the leader of the group... I can't let anyone find out yet…'

At the hokage building

Inside his office sat Hiruzen Sarutobi. The night had been a busy one with all the commotion about the stolen scroll. It was a cumbersome situation to resolve, but it had a positive outcome. They were able to apprehend a traitor in Mizuki before the said chunin could commit any crimes against anyone else, and excitingly, Naruto was able to become a ninja! The boy was someone important to the Third Hokage, knowing what the jinchuruki had been through as a child, he was definitely happy to see him take one step forward towards achieving his dream of becoming Hokage.

As he sifted through the recorded comments of the events however, he noticed something peculiar 'how did Naruto manage to sneak into the room? It says here the anbu were distracted due to all the chaos around the building… was that Naruto's plan or Mizuki's? There's no way Naruto came up with it, so it had to have been Mizuki. But even then, the reports say that when checked, the room seemed to be untouched, and no one ever noticed anyone entering or leaving the building… are the anbu just incapable?... Or did Naruto do something...' thought the God of Shinobi in complete bewilderment. Throughout his shinobi career he had seen many strange things, but a twelve year old child having snuck by multiple anbu without being noticed was definitely one of the more unusual events.

As for whether or not that was the truth, Hiruzen Sarutobi could only guess… for now...

Author's note:

I hope you liked the first chapter! The idea of this story is that Naruto will start an organization in secret, with the goal of finding peace. He will hide his identity as the leader of the organization, since people like Hiruzen would immediately put a stop to it. It'll be similar to how Obito led the Akatsuki in secret without anyone knowing of his identity. Naruto will be stronger than in canon, but not by much, so he will often have to use strategies to beat or counter any opponents.

There will also be many times when people come close to figuring out that the leader of the group is actually Naruto, so the story will involve how he tries to keep that a secret.

Feel free to leave any suggestions (I will see if they are possible to be fitted in) or constructive criticism. This is one of my first fanfictions so I am still learning.
