SCP: Birth Of The Legends

Chapter 34: Half-blooded.

For most of his life, Adam had experienced a great variety of physical and emotional pain.

The lack of pain was almost disturbing for him.

Imagine a wolf; this wolf has lived most of its life in the wilderness fighting for his life almost on a daily basis. Regardless, the wolf never was aggressive to humans and even was friendly to them.

Then one day, his human friend decided to take him to town so they could live together.

A town was an entirely new world for the wolf that was born and raised to survive in a hostile environment. The word and feeling of safety were alien to the wolf which normally led him to feel uncomfortable but not by his new master but by the sudden change.

This was exactly how Adam felt.

He wasn't a good person, he had done really bad things that would make the cruelest serial killer feel nausea.

He had no problem admitting that he originally planned to use his own strong feelings and his girlfriends' as a limitation so he could keep himself on line. He was forced to obtain a huge amount of power or let the world be consumed by flames.

Having three girlfriends that seemed to really love and cared for him felt so fulfilling and nice that it was uncomfortable.

That was one of the reasons why he, subconsciously, had created a barrier to avoid getting even more emotionally involved.

Since the death of his dear cousin, Kassandra, he was traumatized and his brain created a fear to be emotionally close with someone.

That was one of the reasons why he left to train without even saying goodbye to Jennifer.

While his mind created that barrier, his body didn't support the logic; now even less after being subject to experiments and awakening his demonic nature.

But why must his mind and body disagree?

Well, his past had something to do with it.

His emotional relationships were complicated. He was surrounded by his family but he felt lonely.

His cousin died and she was like a sister for him, Elin and Melanie were his adoptive sisters and with the ones he got along the most. His brother was a special case of rivalry and absolute concern.

They could hit each other really hard to the point of shedding blood or having a lot of bruises. Regardless, both twins loved each other and couldn't stand seeing the other suffering.

His father always was distant yet caring and affectionate, he trained Adam all of those years along with his grandmothers. Unfortunately, his father's training was really brutal and left Adam with psychological sequels.

He also had distanced from his mother so she didn't have to waste her precious time with him, a monster.

His mother was so kind and gentle, always helping him to keep pushing forward. She never doubts that her children had good in them.

He couldn't look at her face knowing that he broke her hope. He disappointed her expectations.

Just imagining how his mother could react was something that he feared.

Would she hate him?

Would she still consider him as her son?

His thoughts were finished abruptly by a piercing pain.

Every cell that composed his body was a victim of an agonizing pain that menaced to crumble them apart.

A huge quantity of energy was absorbed by Adam's body after consuming the souls of the planets he destroyed. His cells had to adapt or die.

"A normal demon would need time to mutate and adapt themselves to the new power. But you are not taking your time, you are mutating at a high speed."

That wasn't pleasant pain!

No, no, no.

It wasn't anything like Jennifer's bite, not even like hot wax or electricity.

"You're just incredible," commented the Demon of Darkness with a fake (?) disappointment. "By the way, you're starting to develop your demonic traits. My recommendation: Don't think too much about your behavior, think about it as a chance to be honest with your instincts."

"The fuck are you talking about?!"

"Just saying, you can't be ashamed if you copulate with your women or if you have the need to show a weakling his place."

"Fuck you!"

"That's the nicest compliment I've received from you. Be thankful that I didn't allow you to absorb all of the souls."

Adam couldn't talk anymore, all that came out of his mouth were grunts of pain.

Inside Adam's body, his cells were doing something curious.

His normal human cells modified their organelles to endure all the energy that now they had. They even created new organelles.

They destroyed themselves and just a single organelle survived, it was absorbed by the nearest cell and became part of it. When this cell reproduced, it reproduced the new organelle as well.

The creation of modified and new organelles completely functional would take several attempts.

That cycle of self-destruction and creation would continue until his cells reach the optimal point they were looking for.

And that was going to take a while.

[...]

Serafall was unsure of what to do in that situation. Should she be polite or that would annoy the dragon god before her?

A cute young girl with long black hair down to her hips and dark gray eyes. Even while looking like a little girl, she exuded maturity and coldness.

Her gothic lolita clothing somehow added more cuteness to her appearance.

Her appearance might fool anyone who had no knowledge about the supernatural world but even if that was the case, her presence alone was more than enough to awaken the survival instincts. This was more intense for supernatural beings since they were more sensitive to the fundamental energies of the universe.

The aura of that girl surpassed every other in the world.

That was no little girl; it was Ophis, the Dragon of the Infinite.

Ophis wasn't even bothering in looking at the devil. She didn't know why that woman was far from her nor why that woman was scared.

Yes, she could smell fear coming from the woman.

It didn't matter, she had a more important thing to do than trying to find why the woman was scared.

"My Lord, you have shown up in this world. How much time has passed since the last time I was at home?"

Serafall watched with curiosity how Ophis placed her hand on the dome of Darkness. She wasn't absolutely sure about it but she almost could say that Ophis felt nostalgic.

"The complete silence of the vacuum of the space, the younglings causing chaos, Red and I causing noise."

Ophis allowed herself to remember the past.

Enough of that, she had to find out why one of the Great Nine was in that universe. Maybe he was there to evaluate her job.

The one who really had to worry was Red, she had done her job but he hadn't done anything. He thought that just eating the dreams of the earthlings was enough to analyze the planet.

The dark energy of the dome would have ripped apart lesser beings but she was more than capable to withstand it, her magical made clothing was another story. As soon as the sleeve of her dress had contact with the energy of her lord, it atomized.

It didn't matter, she could create more later.

Serafall watched with awe how Ophis entered the dome without a second thought. She couldn't expect less from the strongest being in the world.

"Should I try?" she questioned herself while placing a finger on her chin.

She was there for her servant but adventuring into the unknown was dangerous and the dome was harmful to her just not as much as it would be to other beings.

A week ago, after Adam sealed himself or something by the sort, the Foundation evacuated the village and quarantined it. The perimeter had armored personnel ready to act if needed.

Axl himself had given the order to let her get inside the quarantine zone. She had spent the entire week investigating the dome along with the Foundation scientists.

Serafall contacted Mephisto, an ancient devil that was the leader of the magician organization known Grauzuberer. If someone could find something about the energy of the dome it was him.

The only thing that he could find was that the energy was a primal version of that possessed by devils. It was more aggressive, violent, and negative in general.

Maybe that was why she felt kind of familiar with it but didn't explain why she felt inferior to it; her body instinctively knew that it belonged to a superior being of malevolent nature.

The scientists of the Foundation found that it was anomalous for the following reasons:

It somehow interacted with the physical world but didn't appear in the electromagnetic spectrum.

It atomized everything that wasn't dark in nature and didn't allow anyone to enter unless the person had enough power to endure the destructive energy.

And as an extra fact, it had its own gravity that behaved like a sentient being.

This was proven after successfully introducing a drone, it had a series of small propellers that had the potency to send the machine out of orbit. The main function of this type of drone was reconnaissance, fast enough to get images of the zone before satellites.

The drones were used mostly to record or photography colossal anomalies or creatures like dragons or trolls.

In the middle of a battle, they could give the personnel a clear image of what was happening almost in real-time.

However, what really mattered was that the drone was made to resist extreme environments (including supernatural) and impacts of a considerable magnitude.

The drone only was two seconds before being ejected from the dome. It was compressed as if it would have been thrown suddenly in the deepest part of the ocean.

In a moment it was behaving like normal gravity and the next it acted like a repulsive force.

Since there was no information about this type of energy, the Foundation personnel responsible for analyzing the dome considered labeling it as an SCP.

The scientific theory was that the dome was composed of dark matter and energy that somehow could choose between attraction and repulsion. It didn't explain why it atomized everything that wasn't dark in nature; this made the scientists believe that the dome was magical.

The test to analyze if it could be broken was stopped right at the moment of Ophis' arrival.

Every part of the personnel retreated to the outskirts of the village. As the procedure dictated it, none of them dared to trained their guns at her. That would have caused her fury and it wasn't something that they desired to experience.

Serafall negated with her head and pressed her chest with both hands. A feeling of unease concentrated in there.

Her servant was calling her.

The best thing she could do was waiting; there were no clues about his location and since they weren't able to break the dome, all she could do was wait and be ready to help him if necessary.

.

.

.

Inside the dome, Adam awakened.

His body was hurting pretty bad which was normal considering that he was alive and not dead. The process of mutation that his cells did would have killed any other living being in a matter of seconds, moreover, any other living being shouldn't be able to absorb such a quantity of raw energy.

There was a certain anomaly that could do the same thing but it was a unique case.

Adam could also feel a few additional things that a normal human shouldn't have.

"My body. It's okay, if it hurts I'm still alive and probably well."

Adam tried to keep focused and stand up but his body had wasted all of its resources on the mutations. He had to eat something to replenish the energy lost.

It didn't matter how hard he tried to get to his feet, his muscles were just too exhausted.

Without realizing it, he fell asleep.

Unknown to the blond, Ophis reached his position moments after his loss of consciousness.

Inside the dome, there were mutilated bodies and destroyed military weaponry.

The Infinite didn't bother by the nakedness of the youngling, nor hers.

She took a good look at that male, she could feel the essence of her Lord inside him. Was the youngling the Pride's son?

No, it was very unlikely.

"Ophis, it had been a long time."

For a brief moment, she looked for the voice just to realize that it was coming from the darkness composing the dome.

"I would like to know the results of your mission."

The normally stoic expression of the dragon turned into a smile. Unfortunately, this lasted no more than just a second.

Ophis proceeded to tell everything she knew about the world, the top of strongest beings, the supernatural world, the human world. Her knowledge was limited, her stay on the planet hadn't been long enough to give extensive details. She knew enough to fulfill her mission no more no less.

"There are things that you don't know, Ophis. This kid has a lot of interesting things in his head and he has provided me with certain information that might be helpful to accomplish your mission."

Ophis bowed apologetically. "I apologize, my lord. My stay on this planet has been short."

"Don't worry about it. We have plenty of time and I think that you already know what this kid is."

Ophis took a moment to looked Adam's body carefully. In addition to his appearance, he had that scent and aura.

"A half-blooded."

"You're right, in the worst of cases he and his offspring will spread the demon race all over the planet."

Her face showed no emotion but she crossed her arms. Her lord should trust her, she was going to fulfill her duty.

She didn't know but that made her feel angry.

"Remember that I can read your mind, Infinite. I trust you but I haven't reached my position for being overconfident, we cannot allow the Archangels to take this planet before us."

"I understand, my lord," said she while bowing. "Do I carry on with my mission?"

"Pause it. I have a new mission for you."

Ophis nodded, she was ready to accomplish any task given by one of the Great Nine.

"I need you to watch over this kid. He is special for Lilith."

"For the Queen of Pleasure?"

"That's right. She was summoned on this planet and I know that she has something to do with this kid's family."

"I see. If that's the duty that you're assigning me, my lord, I shall accomplish it."

"Keep close to him and make sure that he develops all of his potential. He might become one of my knights."

Ophis knelt next to the unconscious youngling. By just pressing her hand against his chest, she could feel that he was damaged by the sudden awakening of his demonic heritage.

She looked with curiosity Serafall's personal crest on the kid's upper right pectoral. It wasn't like she knew that it belonged to Serafall.

The kid needed to absorb energy to heal, pouring some of her energy into him should do the trick but she didn't know how sensitive was the kid to energy. She had heard from a magician that physical contact without clothes getting in the way was effective to share energy slowly.

The problem was that her energy was too volatile and too much, without knowing how sensitive was he to energy absorption, it was a risk.

That crest, the kid had a master. That master likely was a devil and probably had way less power than her.

Yes, that was the safest option.

With that in mind, she got out of the dome.

Now that she was back in that city, maybe the kid's master was nearby.

Serafall didn't know what to do besides tilting her head before Ophis' nakedness.

"You, come with me."

Serafall pointed at herself perplexed. "How could I be of help?"

"Your servant is here, now follow me."

With hesitant steps, the Maou followed the dragon of Infinite.

The Foundation personnel silently agreed that the best thing to do was following their training and report what just happened.

As soon as her kimono had contact with the dome, it disintegrated leaving her completely naked. When she noticed it, reacted quickly placing her arm over her breasts and her free hand to cover her crotch.

The only reason to be there was her servant, she could sense him again. That meant he was alive and nearby.

She had to endure the embarrassment of being naked in front of Ophis. In the context of relaxing in an onsen with other women, she was completely relaxed or alone with Yasaka.

Speaking of which, Ophis didn't seem to be embarrassed in the slightest. It was expected from a millennia-old dragon no familiarized with human society.

Ophis walked through the darkness as if it was nothing but curtains while Serafall was beginning to get hurt by the darkness. The only thing keeping her from suffering more was her immense dark energy that instinctively had reinforced the cells of the body that was hosting it.

The dragon noticed this, the devil wouldn't make it there if she kept getting damaged by her Lord's power. With little effort, she created a shield around the devil.

For a minute or several (time was hard to tell in that place), they walked without saying a word. Serafall thought and thought but she couldn't find a way to break the ice.

Finally, they stopped in a barren wasteland full of rotting corpses and destroyed vehicles. Serafall worried not knowing if her servant was completely safe.

Ophis simply stopped and pointed with her finger.

There was him. Somehow, he was the only thing untouched in the area.

Serafall was surprised by his appearance but decided to think about it later; once she was sure that he was fine, she could focus on finding an explication.

"Your servant requires energy to recover," Ophis said with a monotony natural in her.

The Maou pressed her hand against his chest and focused her energy.

"No, he needs a big quantity but given slowly."

Serafall thought for a minute before realizing what she had to do. Her face reddened, she couldn't do that in front of Ophis!

Being naked in front of her was embarrassing enough. Besides, Adam had girlfriends now, she couldn't simply do such an intimate act.

It wasn't like she didn't have the desire.

Ophis crossed her arms and rose an eyebrow. "What are you waiting for?"

Serafall turned around while doing her best to not look too ashamed. "I can't do that."

"He is your servant, help him."

"But..."

Ophis stopped listening, she was accessing her memories about the behavior of sentient beings. For her knowledge then she hated him or felt...What was the word?

Disgusted. That was the word.

"I am not from this world but he doesn't look...dirty to me."

The devil made a movement to scratch her head but remembered that she was stark naked so she kept her arm and hand covering the important.

"It's not that, it's just that I can't...do that."

Ophis tilted her head. She couldn't comprehend that woman at all. She has seen a lot of people doing it without so much doubt.

Maybe she didn't know how to do it.

The Dragon of Infinity shrugged, she had to teach her then.

Ophis walked to Adam and sat on his abdomen, it wasn't so complex.

"What are you doing?!"

Serafall instantly regret her loss of control, Ophis just had a puzzled expression.

The dragon laid down and snuggled against his chest.

"This is all you have to do."

Serafall looked at Ophis and struggled to not facepalm with all of her strength. Since when she was that horny?

"Yes, I can do that. I'm sorry."

Ophis stepped aside letting Serafall embrace her servant. It seemed that she knew how to do it now.

Serafall felt ashamed, not by the act but for the pair of black eyes staring at her. Getting a little tiny bit aroused just contributed to her shame.

Why her servant had to be naked?

His new appearance, the new nature of his energy, the scent. It was almost like an aphrodisiac to her senses.

She allowed herself to rub against his body with the excuse of fixing her position. Her stretching wings betrayed her.

Serafall took advantage of her wings and covered her back and Adam's lower body with them.

"Ouroboros, I understand your unfamiliarity with Earth customs that's why I explain to you that this is a thing Earthlings like to do alone."

The Maou suddenly sat up and looked for the diabolic voice, her survival instinct triggered. She didn't notice the offensive magic circles on her hands.

"You're quite in an embarrassing position, Succubus."

Serafall felt her anxiety rising, her eyes fixated on her unconscious servant. Her blue eyes met his yellow eyes.

Adam was disoriented for a second before being aware of his surroundings. The first thing his senses caught was the glorious and unforgettable view of a totally naked Serafall.

He felt how his heart stopped by just seeing her.

"Mistress?"

"Adam, are you alright?"

That wasn't good, she was scared of something. She didn't seem to notice that her round butt was pressing against his crotch; she could keep moving all she wanted.

Alright, it wasn't time for that. Besides, his three girlfriends would kill him.

"Calm down, Mistress, I'll take care of it."

Adam gently pushed her off him and stood on his feet.

Serafall covered her breasts with her arm and kept her hand with the magic circle extended. Her nakedness wasn't so important now.

The blond looked around besides the infinite darkness around him, there was nothing menacing.

"Hey. Why are Serafall, that little girl, and I naked?"

"My dome destroyed your clothes. It's not my fault that they were fragile."

"You don't just do that. Finding the perfect outfit is a complex task."

"Buy some good clothes made of demonic wool. My city has good shops."

"And now you are just advertising."

"And that is not a little girl, she is Ophis."

The devil closed the distance with her servant and touched his shoulder. That exchange was way too casual.

"Adam. Do you know this...entity?"

"Yes, I do. He is a...Demon of Darkness that lives in my soul."

The blond turned around and put his hand on her shoulder. He planned to tell her that everything was fine but he saw his hand.

From his forearm to his fingers, his skin was covered by black scales and his fingernails were small pointy white claws.

"Adam, look at me. Calm down."

Serafall's attempt to calm him down was useless.

His hand still had five fingers, the inner side of his forearm wasn't scaled but his skin was black. The palms weren't scaled either.

His feet and calves were the same.

"I need a mirror."

Ophis crossed her arms and looked at the half-blooded reaction with interest.

"Adam, I don't know if it is a good idea. You need to calm down first."

"I need it now."

Serafall was surprised by Adam's tone, it was full of authority. Without too many choices, she obliged.

With her magic, she created an ice wall that reflected him perfectly.

Adam almost panicked when he saw his new appearance.

Black horns pointing backward like a crown, yellow eyes with a slit pupil, scales in his neck but not in his throat. Part of his shoulders also had them.

His chest, abdomen, and thighs barely had any.

His attention went to his two pairs of wings. Small dragon-like, beautiful, wings.

They were at least one meter large, possessed a dark purple patagium, and were black. They were just like bat wings, unlike devils that just had the shape, he had the anatomy.

Wait. Was that a black tail?

Yes, it was!

A black-scaled tail with a pointy end that mimicked a spear.

His new appearance disturbed him but it was really cool. Better use that thought before he starts to get really worried.

"Mistress!" he called. "Do I have scales in the back?"

Adam shamelessly turned around giving Serafall (and Ophis) a good view of his back and wings.

Serafall looked more by reflex than consciously.

He had scales on his spine and barely had on his thighs. It was a good thing that his round ass was unaffected.

Her face turned red. She couldn't have that kind of thoughts in such a situation.

"There are!" she exclaimed.

"Kneel."

Adam turned around to look at Ophis. He wasn't quite sure who she was but the Demon of Darkness said that she wasn't a little girl.

A shapeshifter?

He knelt feeling a little uncomfortable for letting her approach from behind. He had seen children slitting throats like that; he and his small group of outlaws in Egypt had done it several times.

What happened to them after he left?

His travel to the past was stopped by Ophis' hands caressing his wings.

"Urgh...They are sensitive."

"These are Lilith's wings. How curious."

Guided by sheer curiosity, Serafall grabbed Adam's tail. He yelped and tensed up his body.

Ophis slapped her hand causing her great pain.

Serafall contained her scream. "What did I do?"

"That was too straightforward, succubus."

"What did I do?" she asked again. "I just grabbed his tail."

"You just ask him to mate with you and marry you basically."

"What?!"

Adam covered his body with his wings, they were quite useful. The mere idea of Serafall marrying him was so...perfect.

"We must get out of here," said Adam. "There are matters that I must attend to."

He stood up and put his hands on his hips while crossing his legs.

"As you wish, brother. But wouldn't you rather train a little first?"

"Yes, I would. I need to distract my mind."

"Fantastic."

Darkness and Light enveloped Adam's body creating new clothes for him.

An ebony four-button vest, a dark purple shirt with the sleeves rolled up to show his forearms. Dark gray pants and knee-high boots.

A brown leather belt with a skull-shaped buckle.

Ophis returned to wear her gothic lolita outfit.

Serafall was wearing a purple bodysuit, and long gloves, and thigh-high boots that shared the same color. The bodysuit was almost see-through just hiding the front of her breasts, abdomen, butt, and crotch. The black fabric covering her cleavage, sides, and back was almost translucent providing a clear view of said zones.

"Why?!"

Adam didn't share Serafall's anger, that outfit was...glorious.

"It's the only thing that was in Adam's mind. I have no idea about Earth fashion."

The only man present looked at the ground completely ashamed. "Apologies."

Serafall just smiled, it wasn't really his fault. But he was kind of a pervert, having such clothes in his memory. Was it that he just remembered seeing the clothes or was it that he wanted her wearing them?

"I'll be merciful and tell you what you are going to do. Don't worry about time, I can make it slower here, you can spend a week here and there wouldn't have passed a day in your world."

"Fine, let's start with this. Do you agree with this, mistress?"

Serafall meditated, she rather not spend so much time there but on the other hand, she hadn't trained in months and she felt a little rusty. Besides, she didn't think that Adam wouldn't be happy if she said "no".

"Okay, but I'll be here as well."

"Wonderful."

Darkness took care of the bodies and destroyed military vehicles. The darkness was absorbing the environment itself and changing its form.

In a minute, they were in a kind of coliseum.

A huge cylindrical structure made of black marble and stone pillars irregularly placed all over the place. There was no ceiling, hundreds of stars and a huge planet were staring at them from the distance.

Something to highlight was the disorientation and nausea that the devil and the half-blooded felt.

For Adam, it was something momentary. His senses and body in general were quick to adapt to sudden changes.

"What you have to do is simple, we will going to develop your master-servant compatibility, force Adam to awaken his innate demon abilities, and increase your raw physical and spiritual prowess."

Serafall had learned to ignore physical discomfort a long time ago. The disorientation wasn't enough to make her miss the words of the diabolic voice.

"Sounds good and all but I have questions now," he said.

"What is it now?" questioned he with certain annoyance. "Training is what you need."

"I know. My questions are: What is this place and how much time will we spend here."

"This is where I train my knights and you likely will spend a month here, two days in your world."

Serafall sighed, she already had agreed to that. Novice mistake, not asking for every tiny detail.

Adam clouded her reasoning more than she initially thought. Was she...

No, it wasn't that.

"How are we going to train?" asked Serafall acknowledging the fact that she couldn't go back.

"Finally, someone making the real questions. You are going to fight against Ophis until you faint."

Adam and Serafall froze up and slowly turned around just to see how Ophis smirked mischievously.

.

.

.

The yokai tied to a chair wasn't sure about the situation. He was expecting to be tortured or killed; he ended up witnessing a discussion instead.

Jennifer facepalmed. Of course that the person that Adam loved was as childish as him.

"Please, I can't hold back anymore."

"No."

"Please, if you give me his first time, I will help you to seduce him."

"No."

"Please, this doesn't change anything. I'll make you his first wife."

"Hmm...I'm interested."

"Yay!"

"I didn't say 'yes', horny fox."

"Ooow."

Jennifer stretched her limbs and Kuriho followed.

The blonde was wearing a black T-shirt, jeans, and ankle boots. She had let her jacket in the small suitcase in the room given by the Empress.

Kuriho was wearing simple black yukata and hakama boots.

It was starting to be time for the fun.

"So...How are going to make him talk?"

Jennifer stared at her with a rose eyebrow. "Use your telepathy."

"No, it's not that funny."

"I can agree."

They placed their hands on their chins.

"What if we seduce him?" suggested Kuriho. "He is a man after all."

"No, I don't like to do that to anyone else but William."

"Yeah, I don't like it either."

...

...

"Let's just torture him already."

Kuriho liked Jennifer's idea.

They approached the tied man who felt the pressure and intimidation from having a vampire and a nine-tailed fox ready to torture him.

"Wait, I can't say anything. They would kill me."

Jennifer made her fingernails sharp and pressed them against his neck. That response was so classical, she was going to have fun.

"I'll speed this up."

With those words, Kuriho grabbed the yokai's ankle and effortlessly crushed it. The sound of cracking bones was satisfying for them both.

The man screamed. He had relaxed with their chattering, they were sadistic bitches and he was so fucked up. His bosses would kill him if he talked but those crazy whores would kill him if he didn't talk.

He was between the sword and the wall.

"I'll give you a second chance. Where are the nekomatas?" questioned Jennifer with a calm tone that was disturbing.

"I told you already...they were bought by a...man, I don't know the name."

Jennifer grabbed his pinky finger and with a swift move, broke it. Kuriho and her savored for a brief moment his screams.

"I'm losing patience. You have been arrested for sex trafficking and slavery. Two starving girls were found in your basement."

She broke his thumb.

"You drugged young women and sold them."

Index finger.

"Two women were raped by you."

Middle finger.

"You better talk before I decide to sever what makes you a male."

Kuriho held Jennifer's shoulders and gently pulled her back. That wasn't given results, a gentle approach should be more effective.

The kumiho crouched and held his unharmed hand. She stared directly at his eyes.

"Listen, she is going to kill you. If you show regret with a good action like telling us what we want to know, you will just be imprisoned,"

She stood up and surrounded his neck with her hand.

"If a lie comes out from your mouth, I'm going to rip your throat off and eat it. Got it?"

He nodded with enthusiasm. That menace was a good motivation to talk.

She removed her hand from his neck. It had been years since she ate the flesh of another human being but that yokai deserved it. No, Adam wouldn't approve it, right?

It was hard to say, he had a strange sense of what was right and wrong, and to be frank, she had it as well. Eating really malignant people didn't seem wrong to her.

"The man was Haruki, OK?" he took a short pause. "He has friends, powerful friends, they can pull strings that could crumble the entire government."

The women could understand why the man had resisted talking. If the people he was talking about were that powerful, then they could easily kill him and his loved ones if he had any.

"You will say that to the Empress. Understood?"

The man nodded again. He didn't know who was scarier: The vampire or the kitsune.

"Who are these powerful friends?" this time was Jennifer's turn to ask. "Better give us something useful."

"I don't know who they are. All I know is that they aren't from the Yokai factions and they are humans."

"Humans?"

"Yes, ma'am."

The women shared looks before exiting the dungeon.

The walk to the Empress' bedroom was a bit long and silent. Maybe it was wrong but they wanted to kill that man.

As soon as Yasaka's living quarters were in her field of view, Kuriho had an idea.

"Jennifer. Why don't you go and try to talk with Natasha?"

"Huh?"

"You know, she is one of us now. Try to be her friend."

"Us?"

"Adam's future brides."

"But-"

"Don't worry, I'll talk with the Empress. Don't do it for me, do it for Adam."

Kuriho quickly walked toward the building that was Yasaka's residence inside the terrains of the Imperial Palace.

"Stupid fox."

.

.

.

Jennifer found herself knocking at Natasha's door. Why was she doing that?

She didn't hate her but had resentment after reading the information about Area 51.

Natasha had experimented with Adam's body, tortured him, making him her guinea pig. It wasn't just her, the people involved did the same.

After two months of never-ending pain, he managed to escape with the assault of the Foundation. With the things she had done to him, it was senseless that he didn't hold a grudge against her.

Elin also was involved but she had to have her reasons. She was Adam's sister and personal maid.

A few weeks ago, he had asked her to give a chance to Natasha but she hadn't given that step yet.

The door hadn't been opened. The situation was starting to be suspicious.

Back to her thoughts, she might give her the chance. If Adam decided to be her boyfriend there had to be good inside her.

Jennifer was Adam's girlfriend too and she had to make sure that the person wasn't playing with his heart or worse.

There was no answer...Something was off.

Her muscular memory reacted and made her leaned against the wall, just next to the door threshold. She used her telekinesis and opened it.

She had moved to the wall beside the door with the intention of avoiding a surprise attack. Luckily, it didn't come.

She made her fingernails sharper and got into the room, a telekinetic field was around her just in case of a surprise.

All of her cautions were unnecessary, Natasha was asleep. The half-vampire closed the door with her telekinesis and relaxed.

She was lying on her belly, her beautiful red hair fell like a waterfall to her thighs. Her hair reminded Jennifer of a certain family of devils.

The scientist was wearing a kimono made for sleeping, she didn't know the name. Or was it a yukata?

Jennifer inspected the room, everything was in order with the exception of the bed and the desk. The bed was a disaster and the desk had a mountain of files along with a 3D projection that was coming from a scroll.

Intrigued by it, she got closer to see what information was displaying.

"How to weaponize SCP-3199."

The blonde rose an eyebrow, that was an ambitious project. At least someone could keep working.

Why her f...Axl had to keep her away from her work?

She knew that Alpha-1 had been doing an investigation job in Egypt and Norway. That would have helped her to maintain her mind busy and not thinking about Adam. Her job in Kyoto was entertaining and she was happy to help innocent people but wasn't as challenging and thrilling as her job in the Foundation.

The feeling of uncertainty was so...good.

Not knowing what she was facing, applying specific containment procedures, a mistake that could kill her.

That sensation of danger was addictive.

"No, we can't. We're being watched, no, no, well, you can touch a little."

Jennifer crossed her arms, she was regretting learning Russian. Was she surrounded by perverts?"

"Adam, I'm sorry. Use my body as payment."

"Wake up, pervert!"

Jennifer shook Natasha with little violence.

The red-haired scientist jumped off the bed and kissed the floor.

"Aw!"

Jennifer contained a laugh and helped her to get to her feet.

"Jennifer. What is going on?"

"We need to talk."

"Couldn't wait."

"Probably."

Natasha rubbed her eyes and walked to the bathroom. She barely could see anything but she was used to it.

"I will take a shower. Give me twenty minutes."

"Uh-huh."

Jennifer looked at the bed and sighed. Leaving the bed like that was unacceptable.

With help of her telekinesis, she started to make the bed presentable.

What was she going to say to Natasha?

Many options were thought of but discarded for the same reason: Too blunt.

She couldn't simply say something like: "I would want us to be friends."

Or

"Adam would like us to be friends."

What to say?

"I can help you out, youngling," said the Spirit of Darkness. "Just be honest with her and yourself. The best relations are built upon honesty."

"You're right. Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Inside the bathroom, Natasha finished cleaning herself and tying her yukata.

"What does she want to talk about?"

Inside her mind, the Spirit of Earth answered. "It is likely about our master."

"May I say something?"

Natasha nodded before the question of the Spirit of Lightning.

"We know that a man having more than one woman is a taboo for most of human society. My advice is, to be honest, patient, and tolerant with your boyfriend and his lovers."

"Thank you. Eh...What do I do if I feel jealous?"

Earth answered the scientist's question. "Talk about it with Adam or a fellow girlfriend. Never accumulate them, it's bad for you."

"Thank you."

She had to admit that Adam was quite skilled with his mind if he could avoid talking aloud.

Breathing out, she exited the bathroom.

Now that they both were willing to speak to each other outside of work. The silence reigned, none of them had an idea of what to say.

"My grudge against you is senseless."

The ice was broken by Jennifer, her stoic and cold expression softened. The dhampir patted the mattress inviting her to take a seat.

Natasha followed and sat beside Jennifer.

"My grudge was originated after I read the informs about Area 51 and the file about Adam. I w-...am angry for not being able to protect him when he needed me the most. He hadn't said anything to me but you are very special for him, never doubt it."

Natasha played with her fingers. "He is one of the two people seeing the good in me. He and Kuriho somehow insist that I am a good person even after the things I've done to them."

Jennifer crossed her arms and legs. She could empathize with her really well.

When one's considers oneself as a monster, having people reminding you that you are more than just a killer was a feeling of liberation and happiness.

After meditating on her words, she decided to talk.

"I don't have his compassion but I think that you deserve a second chance. We should start our relation all over again."

"I think it is a good idea."

Jennifer smirked, maybe that was the perfect chance to make a real friend.

The blonde stood up and offered her hand. Natasha stood up as well and shook her hand.

They grasped firmly and stared at each other's eyes.

"My name is Jennifer Galiana Wolf, daughter of Sorina Carmilla. It is a pleasure to meet you."

"My name is Natasha Aleksandrovna Belikova. The pleasure is mine."

They broke the handshake and sat on the bed again.

"Would you like to go for a drink?" asked Jennifer.

Natasha doubted by reflex but it had been nearly a year since she drank good liquor.

"I would love to."
