Instead of Momo freeing her from the tree after she stole the water bending scroll, Zuko manages to take Katara back to his ship as bait for the Avatar. Their hatred lessens as they learn about each other and Zuko realizes just what the Fire Nation has done.

5 years after Zuko's coronation the whole Gaang have thrown themselves into the Restoration Projects but after a while Katara starts to feel useless and unwanted among the Air Acolytes. She wants to be helpful and be a woman in her own right. Then Zuko makes her an offer she can't refuse, the position of Southern Water Tribe Ambassador. Suddenly the world looks decidedly purple.
