A chilly autumn morning dawned at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley were walking towards Potions without Hermione Granger. Some people were very surprised by the absence of the brains of the golden trio, but did not question anything as a cold was going around and so they assumed that Hermione was merely ill for the day. Harry and Ron knew better.

Before breakfast that very morning, Hermione announced that she would not be accompanying them to the Great Hall, and instead would be heading to the library to read. This was a normal occurrence, but for the fact that Hermione did not arrive at classes at all that day. Harry and Ron had to make excuses to Slughorn, McGonagall, Snape, Flitwick and Sprout that Hermione was indeed ill in bed. Little did they know that Hermione did not go to the library at all that morning, and instead went outside to meet a certain "someone" by the Black Lake.

"Hey Ron!" Harry said to Ron after class. "You reckon that Hermione forgot about class?"

"I dunno! It's not like her to forget...heck, I don't think she's ever accidentally missed class before!"

"Malfoy wasn't in class either...I'm kind of scared that he might've done something to her..."

"Should we check the library? We do have a free period."

"Yeah, that's a good idea, let's go."

And they were off to the library. However, after passing through the entire library two times and asking Madam Pince some questions, they finally succumbed to the fact that Hermione did not go to the library at all that morning. Feeling uneasy, they decided to go down to Hagrid's to check if Hermione was there. While they were passing the black lake, an unpleasant sight splayed out in front of them. Hermione, was leaning against the big oak tree next to the lake, and none other than Draco Malfoy was splayed across her legs, fiddling with her bushy hair.

Completely and utterly bewildered, Harry and Ron were rendered speechless, and the only thing they had the ability do for a while, was to stare from a distance.

"She...she..." Ron, red-faced in confusion and embarassment finally broke the shocked silence.

"I don't know." Harry admitted.

Hermione, seemingly to have heard their whispering, pushed Draco off of her, stood up and spun around, turning as stiff as a statue when she saw their company. Confused, Draco Malfoy peered at the direction that she was looking and suddenly comprehension overrode him.

"Oh...sh*. He muttered under his breath, and a blush slowly began to creep up his neck.

"H...Harry! Ron!" Hermione tried to seem like the boys did not just catch their best friend (Hermione herself) with someone that they hated. It was a disastrous attempt as her cheeks were still very much flushed.

By this time, Draco's face was rivalling the colour of Ron's hair, and Ron's anger was evidently growing. Harry finally processed what he saw, and spoke.

"Um...Hermione, where were you today for class? Ron and I were worried."

"I was...here, with Draco..." She quietly admitted.
