Neither Six nor Holiday appeared in this episode. So what to do? I debated whether to skip it or not. But that would mean less HOLIX and we can't have that. Maybe in the future if neither appears again like in "Lost Weekend" I might skip that episode but we'll see.

MoonGirl1155: Yeah, I figured Six doesn't apologize much. I think that would take anyone by surprise.

Guest: I'm glad you liked this chapter. I was worried that people would be like… Six would never admit to being tired. He's too hardcore! But I think we forget he's human. I know some of us don't want our heroes to have any weaknesses… but I think that makes for a boring character.

Spektor: I don't know if Six is an omniglot but he's at least a polyglot. I figured since he's in the mercenary business he would have at least learned some of the major languages like French, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, German, Russian and obviously English. He may speak more but we have to wait and see…

I don't own squat.

Basic

"Want some coffee, Six?"

"Thank you… This is not from the cafeteria."

"Very observant of you. What gave it the way? The fact that it has a logo on it or the fact that it tastes different?"

"Funny Holiday. When did you get this?"

"It's so quiet around here without Rex that I actually finished everything early enough to have time to go out and get some of the good stuff."

"The cafeteria's coffee is palatable."

"It is but it's not this."

"It's…not bad."

"Not bad? Really Six? You need to refine your tastes. This is what coffee snobs call nectar of the gods."

"... Whatever you say... "

"So where is Rex?"

"He and Noah went to basic training."

"…What! But why? They wouldn't last an hour there."

"It seems they had a bet going. Calan pulled some strings and got them in for a trial run."

"And you let them go?"

"Rex has been getting a little cocky lately. It would do him good to see what it's really like to train. He relies too much on his powers. And Noah? Well, it would do him good to learn a little self-defense."

"Rex uses his powers so much because you ask him to do the impossible. And there has to be a less painful way to learn self-defense. Oh poor kids."

"I fail to see how this is a terrible idea. Even White thought it would be good."

"Well, if White thinks it's a good idea then you know they are in trouble... And you! You are enjoying this!"

"It has been quiet, you have to admit."

"So you finally get your down time."

"Not really, I'm catching up on paperwork."

"I see."

"Is there anything I can help you with, doctor?"

"Well, I guess since Rex is at basic training it leaves tonight open."

"Tonight? What's to…. It's Friday."

"Yes, Friday."

"I should have realized it when I saw your red pumps."

"Yup, my Friday pumps. Honestly, Six we've been doing this for months now and you still forget."

"I don't forget. I conveniently suppress the memory."

"Ha. I wonder what I should do tonight then?"

"Finish your medical records…"

"You're such a killjoy."

"I try."

"But for your information, I'm all caught up. How's that for efficiency?"

"Hmph, I'd be done too if I wasn't interrupted by an explosion every twenty minutes."

"Oh, stop whining. You know you'd rather deal with an explosion than fill out a standard report."

"That wasn't whining. Merely stating a fact."

"How about I make you a deal?"

"…What sort of deal?"

"I'll help you finish your reports and we can… oh, I don't know, maybe watch a movie in the rec room tonight."

"Six?"

"Ahem… that's… nice of you to offer but I think I better finish these myself."

"Oh… I guess you'd rather work than have fun… or do you even know the meaning of the word?"

"I have a good grasp of it."

"I don't think so… at least not what it really means."

"Where are you going?"

"To leave you to your paperwork in peace."

"…You don't have to leave right this second."

"There's no point in staying. I'm just keeping you from your work. I guess I'll go watch the movie by myself. I'll see you tomorrow, Six."

"…Holiday."

"Yes?"

"I… it's almost dinner time and… I was going to take a break… That is… I'm going to the cafeteria..."

"Ooo-kay… so?"

"…I was wondering… if you were going there as well."

"… Oh… not really. I'm not very hungry. I was just going to have popcorn while watching the movie."

"Oh…. "

"But I guess I can walk with you to the cafeteria. I do need to get the popcorn…"

"After you…"

"Thank you."

"…What movie are you going to watch?"

"I don't know. I was thinking of a classic... But you're not interested."

"I'm curious as to what classic you like."

"North by Northwest."

"Hitchcock?"

"I was in the mood for intrigue."

"As if there's not enough already."

"Actually, not really. I'm in the lab most of the time. I don't deal with what you have to on the field. I'm just doing research, trying to get my experiments to work… and occasionally patching you guys up."

"… I do have a little time… just a little… maybe I can watch part of it with you."

"You will? It's a great movie! You should watch the whole thing."

"I've seen it before…"

"What? When? How?"

"I don't live under a rock."

"Could have fooled me."

"Very funny, Holiday."

"Well, I wouldn't mind the company."

"I could use a short break."

"Great! You get the popcorn and I'll get the movie going. Meet in 10 minutes in the rec room?"

"Sounds good."

"See you in 10."

"See you."

So it's not a date… at least not in Six's mind. He's just deluding himself into thinking he's just taking a short break. Holiday… well, she'll take what she can get. Hope it's not OOC. Because you know… you have to wonder what they do on their down time from Rex. "North by Northwest" is a great movie BTW. But it maybe a little too old fashion for you young'uns out there. But if you can put away your prejudices against "old" movies you should give it a shot.
