Thanks Moongirl1155 for the reviews and the suggestion. And thank you guest.

I loved this episode too, so much fatherly fluff. But I believe that Rex and Six never told Holiday about their little side trip. So it was another difficult one to write. So what do you talk about if you're not allowed to talk about what you did? You dance around the topic.

I do not own.

Divide by Six

"Hey, there you are. I haven't seen you all day. And was that Rex with two cheeseburgers?"

"Two double bacon cheeseburgers with chili cheese fries that he finished in the jet along with a chocolate milkshake."

"Wow, what did he do to deserve all that?"

"Rex... Is a good kid. He deserves a treat every now and again... What are you doing Holiday?"

"I'm checking to see if there are any hidden cameras. I thought you said Rex deserves a treat."

"I did."

"I thought so. Okay what happened?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean that doesn't sound like you. Usually you're critical, cranky, cross..."

"Are you done with the alliterations?"

"I have one more... cantankerous."

"You make me sound like an 80 year old man."

"Well, if the shoe fits…"

"Rex can be... challenging sometimes but his heart is in the right place... Really Holiday, is that necessary? "

"Just checking to make sure you are Six. You don't look like you've suffered from a concussion. Your pupils are dilating properly. Pulse is normal."

"I can assure you, I am me and I am fine. Now please leave me alone."

"Okay, that sounds more like my Six... I mean... like yourself not that you're actually mine or anything... anyway, where have you been all day?"

"Taking care of some personal business."

"Oh that's code for you can't tell me or you'd have to kill me deals isn't it?"

"Something like that."

"Honestly Six, that's getting real old."

"Sorry."

"Well, it's been quiet here. Even White only called me in once. Did he know you were out today?"

"I requested a personal day."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't know I had to clear my plans with you."

"No, but it's general courtesy to inform your co-worker when you're going to be out and if you are going to take Rex with you."

"The day was a little impromptu. So I didn't have time to give you a heads up."

"Is everything okay, Six?"

"Yes, why?"

"Well, it seems you're… I don't know how to put it… you seem wistful."

"Really?"

"Yes. Do you... want to talk about anything?"

"No."

"Yeah, you're Six."

"…I don't want to bother you."

"Oh Six you're never a bother. You do so much for us... The least I can do is to listen. I won't tell anyone."

"... Have you ever lost someone close to you?"

"I'm sorry Six did someone you know...pass?"

"Yes."

"Who?"

"You could say he was like a father of sorts."

"I'm so sorry. Was that today?"

"Yes."

"Well, you could have said something sooner I could have..."

"No, it was a private matter. Besides he wouldn't have approved of outsiders because of his… condition."

"I see. But to answer your question, I guess I lost my grandfather when I was little. He was a great guy. Use to take me and Beverly to get custard when we visited. We'd go fishing and he'd let me dissect his catch when we got home. He encouraged me to study science when all the other girls were talking about boys and make-up."

"Sounds like a good man."

"Yeah, I miss him. Honestly though, my greatest fear right now is losing Beverly. Sometimes I feel like I've lost her already. If I can't find a cure..."

"Hey, it's going to be all right."

"I'm sorry Six. This is supposed to be about you not me."

"It's okay."

"So how can I cheer you up?"

"I don't need your pity."

"It's not pity Six, it's empathy."

"I don't need either."

"Maybe but empathy's nice when you feel down."

"Or I can pick a fight with you. Would that make you feel better?"

"Maybe."

"Sure then, let me see…. Oh, how about... What have you been feeding Rex? I thought we agreed that he needs to eat a more balanced diet?"

"You're really going to pick a fight?"

"Well yeah, if it makes you feel better."

"Actually, all our fights end with me having to get you a cappuccino… regardless of the outcome."

"See? It's win-win for both of us."

"I fail to see how that is a win for me."

"Well, you get to have your fight. And this time I'll even let you have the last word."

"So it's fixed?"

"Of course it is. You know I'm always right."

"Hardly..."

"But I got you to smile... just a little."

"That wasn't a smile."

"That's a smirk and that's close enough. So my job is done. Now, I have to check on Rex to see if his nanites took care of that heart attack on a bun."

"Holiday?"

"Yes."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome."
