Guest: I actually don't think Six would watch soap operas but I think he'd be nice enough to tape it for Rex and maybe leave it on in the background. Then again, I have met people you'd never expect to watch soap operas and do... secretly. You decide:)
spektor vox: I wish I could write explicit HOLIX but if you watch these episodes it really isn't feasible. That's why I'm dying to get to A Family Holiday but then everything is gone three episodes later! Curse you MOA.
Haygirl: Thanks for your compliment. I honestly don't know what I'm doing. But I'm glad you like it.
Guest 2: No, I haven't played the Gen Rex video game. Hard to justify buying it for myself when the kids don't want to play it. Also the video game came out around the same time Season 3 aired so I still think BK was an afterthought. I already did the Haunted House episode in the previous chapter. I actually started off ambivalent about all the characters except for HOLIX. But writing only HOLIX could get boring fast, so I started developing all the characters, which means I had to study them in depth to try to get their voices right. So now I appreciate their eccentricities. As a writer, I'm flattered that I could change your mind about a character. I hope people who hate Circe will change their minds about her too.
I do not own anything.
"Without a Paddle"
"What are you doing Holiday?"
"Reading through Rex's thesis."
"What thesis?"
"Remember last week when Rex went to Noah's school so he could join the Ping Pong tournament?"
"No."
"Didn't you notice how quiet it was around here?"
"Yes. That's why I didn't question it."
"Anyway, Rex decided that he really liked school. So… I made sure he had plenty of things to remind him of it."
"I'm not sure this is the part of school he enjoyed."
"I know. But I have been neglecting his education. We need to be more conscious of his academic needs."
"He fights EVOs. I'm not sure he needs to know what a dangling participle is."
"Come on Six. He might not be doing this for the rest of his life. And he needs to have some other life skills. Besides, you don't want him to be ignorant of world events."
"I suppose not. So what is he learning?"
"Science, History, Spanish, Trigonometry…"
"You're optimistic."
"I try."
"Well, if you can get him to do all that then more power to you."
"Thanks. Did you know he only got a 98% on his Trigonometry quiz? I know he can do better."
"Tiger mom."
"What did you say?"
"Nothing. So what is his thesis statement on?"
"Oh just how the gothic elements of Wuthering Heights create an atmosphere of desolation and foreboding in which to comment on the follies of societal convention."
"I don't think I understood any of that."
"You don't have to. Rex does."
"Well, at least that should keep him busy and out of trouble."
"That and the four hours of homework I gave him should keep toilets every where safe."
"Calan would be relieved."
"Oh there's the timer. I have to check to make sure he's done with his Physics quiz."
"You gave him a quiz already?"
"Yeah, I caught him sleeping yesterday. So I thought I'd shake things up a little."
"And how are you going to keep him working?"
"What do you mean?"
"You know he's going to realize that there are no consequences to him failing."
"Yes there is."
"And they are…"
"Well, if he dips below an A, his curfew is moved to 9PM. If he goes below a B, curfew is moved to 8PM. If he goes below a C he's grounded. "
"He's not going to like that."
"He doesn't have to like it. He's just going have to deal with it."
"Hmmm."
"And I don't want you taking him out for extra training so he can get out of his studies!"
"I wouldn't dream of it."
"Good. Now I've got to make sure he's done."
"I wouldn't give him extra training but I might take him on more missions."
I've started school like many of you although I'm on the other side of the classroom, so updates may not be every weekend like I have been posting.
