Some issues I have with this cross-over… 1) It felt rushed. 2) I know they had to do back stories but I thought it was a little… gimmicky how they interspersed each person's story with the other. 3) I actually cringed at Six's speech to Rex at the end. It was sappy and unlike him. I don't know maybe I'm being nitpicky but I had hoped for more.

Heroes United Part 2

"I know this is a stupid question, but humor me… How are you feeling?"

"…Like I was hit by a ten ton truck."

"You're fine then."

"We need to talk about your definition of fine."

"Yeah, you're definitely better."

"How long was I out?"

…

"That bad?"

"…No, you were only out for about a day."

"That's a relief. I thought from your reaction that… what's wrong?"

"Nothing, nothing… it's just…"

"Yes?"

"I… um… I… we were worried that you wouldn't make it. It was a little touch and go at first, then the thing that you sacrificed yourself to stop came back and tried to take Rex's Omega nanite. The monster Rex was fighting turned out to be an alien shifting teenaged boy from another dimension. He and Rex went off to fight the thing that apparently Caesar had created and sealed in what he thought was an empty dimension which turned out to be actually a prison for evil aliens…"

"Ok, sorry I asked."

"You didn't get any of that, did you?"

"I got that I missed one heck of a day."

"You don't know the half of it."

"Then maybe you should tell me… slowly, and preferably in chronological order."

"I'm not sure where to start."

"Start with the teenaged monster from another dimension."

"Oh Ben?"

"So he has a name?"

"Yes, Ben something. He was from another dimension. He's able to change into different aliens because of a device he wears on his arm called the Omnitrix."

"Gesundheit."

"Hey, I'm just telling you what he called it."

"And then what happened?"

"Well, that thing you fought was called Alpha. It's something Caesar created…"

"Figures."

"If you want to know what happened, then stop interrupting me."

"Sorry. Go ahead."

"Oh, now where was I?"

"Caesar is an unmitigated as…"

"Six, watch your language. Besides he's not… just… highly unfocused."

"And a jerk to boot."

"ANYWAY, he had created a sentient nanite to control all the other nanites."

"Always a bad idea…"

"But its body was unsustainable so it tried to take over living ones."

"See… bad idea."

"So Caesar sent it to another dimension but it found its way back somehow, bringing Ben along. Ben's been helping Rex fight the thing. But it was a rough start. Rex blamed Ben for your condition."

"Why? If anything, it was caused by Alpha."

"Yes, but I think Rex associated the rift with both of them."

"How did the rift occur?"

"I don't know. But a powerful energy surge was picked up right before the rift happened. I need to look at the data more closely… Unfortunately, Caesar was not forthcoming with answers. I can only make some educated guesses."

"See told you he was a…"

"Okay, sometimes he can be…. But I digress again."

"Where are they now?"

"I was about to check on them. If you can wait a second..."

"I'm not going anywhere, especially since I seem to be missing my pants."

"Oh… yes… sorry about that. Let me find you a robe."

"You're cute when you're flustered."

"I am not… do you want me to get you a robe or would you rather I insert a catheter?"

"Yeah, I thought so… wiseacre, has an answer for everything…"

"Here you go. Sorry, I couldn't find any robes in your room, so I got one from my closet."

"You wear robes that are sized extra large?"

"I like it loose and puffy and… don't judge me."

"I'm not sure if I should be happy or worried that this fits me."

"You should be grateful that I'm not making you walk around in your skivvies."

"There's several things I can say here but I think it would be wise to keep it to myself… seeing as you do wield the medical instruments."

"You're learning everyday."

"I try."

"Oh, I also got word from Rex that they stopped Alpha and sent him back to the other dimension."

"And the other teenager?"

"He left as well."

"Good. I don't think this place can support two overactive teens."

"I don't know. They did make this place interesting."

"We don't need interesting. Rex keeps things interesting enough… him and Bobo."

"That's true. But I think Rex really took a shine to him."

"He does sound like an interesting kid."

"Oh, his personality is very similar to Rex."

"You mean overbearing?"

"With a good heart."

"Hmm, I wish I could have met him."

"Wait… Rex is calling to tell me he's almost back to base."

"Then I should probably use the bathroom before he gets back."

"Oh yes, of course."

"If he gets back before I return, tell him to wait for me. I'd like to talk to him."

"I'm sure he wants to talk to you, too."

"Oh, Bobo, there you are. I have good news!"

It's been almost a year to the day I first started this fic. Can you believe that? And I'm almost done. Woo-hoo!
