I didn't have a problem with this episode. I kinda liked it. It ties this season with the first nicely and hints at Rex's past. It had Holix. (But that did not count as a real kiss!) The problem I had was afterwards. The next episode does not address the fallout and believe me there should have been a major fallout from this. Rex was upset at how easily everyone had turned on each other and Holiday and Six's relationship was thrown for a loop. Seriously, how can the next episodes not even mention that!

"Hi."

"Oh, hi, Six. Why are you still up?"

"I can ask you the same."

"But I asked first."

"That's true."

"Do… you want to talk about…"

"No."

"O-kay. Are you sure about that?"

"I…I'm sorry, Six. I didn't mean to be… abrupt. But I don't want to talk about it."

"We get to inaugurate our containment facilities with its first prisoner."

"I would rather throw him over the dam."

"I see."

"...He messed with us Six! He totally… ugh… I don't even have the words to describe how violated I feel. I wish I had hit him harder!"

"Did he do… anything else?"

"What?... No! Of course not! But…"

"The damage has been done?"

"…Yes."

"So where do we stand?"

"I don't know. I guess that depends on you."

"Me? What about you?"

"Look, Six. This is all confusing and… BLAST Black Knight for sending that creep here! Not only did he manage to send her vital information but he did a number on our moral…"

"I think it was good that he came."

"What?"

"Not the stealing vital information part but showing us where our weaknesses lie. I had a talk with Rex."

"Is he… okay?"

"He's a little shaken up by the experience, especially not remembering Scarecrow and his past."

"And the fact that he believes you think less of him."

"We had a long talk about that too."

"And?"

"What I think and what I believe are two different things."

"Meaning?"

"There are days when Rex tries my patience. These are the days I have… negative thoughts. But I believe that in many ways he's stronger than I am. When I look in his eyes, I see someone who fights for his friends, who sticks to his ideals, and who despite all odds will never give up."

"Wow, did you tell him that."

"Not in so many words, but yes."

"How did he react?"

"In typical Rex fashion. He joked it off and went to play video games."

"I guess Rex is okay now."

"How about you?"

"… It may take me longer."

"He's in our new luxurious containment unit. I can pummel him for you."

"Thanks but if anything I want to pummel him myself… but that won't solve the problem."

"Which is?"

"I'm sorry Six. I don't really want to talk about it."

"It has to do with me, doesn't it?"

"Where do you see yourself in 10 years, Six? In 20?"

"… I don't know. I didn't think I'd make it this far. Being a mercenary doesn't always afford you with a long life."

"I know, but if you had to dream… what would your future look like?"

"… I suppose… I would be doing what I'm doing now."

"In 10 years your reflexes may still be as sharp as they are now, but in 20? You'll start slowing down. Joints will ache. The body starts breaking down. Do you honestly think you can do what you're doing now in 20 years?"

"… Since you put it that way, I hadn't really thought about it. Why? What were you thinking?"

"I don't know. When I was a kid, I had dreams of a house in the suburbs, husband, kids, maybe a dog… more likely a cat…"

"I'm allergic to cats."

"Really?"

"Not all of them, just some… Eyes get watery, sneezing, the works."

"I didn't know that."

"Now you do."

"Anyway, I realize those dreams were more my parents' dreams for me, then my own."

"So you don't want a house, husband, or kids."

"No, I didn't say that. But I wonder what is it I really want."

"Is that what Scarecrow was messing you with?"

"Something like that. I've been so busy trying to save the world and raise Rex that I forgot that at some point all this might be over. Then what?"

"Then we make new plans."

"Hmph, that's easy to say."

"Holiday, I don't know what the future holds but whatever it is, we can't fret about things we have no control over. We just have to see what comes."

"And if we don't like it?"

"Then we make the best of whatever gets thrown at us. It's all we can do."

"I guess... Not very comforting."

"But I promise, I'll try to be there every step of the way."

"You… what?"

"If the fates allow, I'll be there for you and Rex."

"Thank you, Six."

"And I know you'll both do the same for me."

"Always."

"Despite what Scarecrow tried to do, I don't think it's hurt us. It revealed some cracks for sure, but it has also strengthen our resolve to be better people for each other."

"… You know, you're always surprising me. That was very profound. You must have given this a lot of thought."

"Every day for the past seven months."

"Well, it's really late. We need to get up early to deal with the security breach and the next steps for dealing with Black Knight and her machinations."

"I'll see you in the morning then."

"Count on it."
