Daphne promised Hermione that she would tell Harry next before the rest of her family. That way, Daphne would have some sort of answers for the questions anyone would throw at her. Daphne couldn't fight with that logic. But she still took her time.

Daphne didn't know how to tell someone they were about to become a father. Let alone a man with who she hasn't even been on a date yet. Telling Harry was going to make or break their friendship. After she found out that she was pregnant, seeing Harry was too hard. With not being ready to tell him yet, distancing herself seemed reasonable. Hermione didn't like it, but Daphne needed to do it until she was prepared to tell Harry. And the blonde was sure that Hermione would tell Harry if she waited too long.

A knock on her office door made Daphne hope that it would be Harry standing there with a smile on his face to whisk her away and find out why she had been avoiding him. But instead of the messy black hair, she was hoping and dreading to see it, and it was her best friend's dirty blond, impeccably styled hair.

"Theo!" Jumping up from her desk, she pulled her best friend into a hu. The two stood there, holding each other for what felt like an eternity. Theo had been gone on a work trip since she found out about her being pregnant; all she wanted to do was tell her best friend. Mainly for him to be in her corner when she tells her parents.

"Have you gained weight?" Theo asked, pushing her away from their hug as his eyes inspected her body. While Daphne ate anything she wanted, she still worked out to make sure she was healthy.

"I'm not fat. I'm just pregnant." Daphne said, watch Theo's hazel eyes as his brain tried to process what she said.

A smile grew as his eyes lit up when everything clicked; hands went down to her stomach as he replied, "You're having a baby?"

Nodding her head as a teary smile grew, "Yes, I'm coming up on twelve weeks."

"I didn't even know you were seeing anyone! Or did you do that whole sperm thing the muggles do?" Theo asked after Daphne put up a few silencing charms so her whole department wouldn't be able to hear their conversation.

"I didn't get a sperm donor." She said before mumbling softly, "I did something, someone, I shouldn't have done."

Theo looked at Daphne with a look that could make anyone talk. For a while, Daphne thought she was immune to it. His hazel eyes would stare at you, making you feel as if he was reading his mind. While Theo wasn't anywhere close to being a skilled Legilimens, his stare would make you feel as if it could be possible. And if you didn't know the truth, you would spill your secrets. Daphne also believes this trait was why Theo was such a gossip.

"I slept with Harry."

"As in Potter? As in my girlfriend's best friend?" Theo asked, shocked that Daphne, who never slept around with anyone ever unless she was in a relationship. "Isn't he married?"

"Not anymore," Daphne then filled in Theo about everything he missed. Surprised that Hermione didn't fill him in on some of the things. "He just got divorced. How could I have been so stupid?"

"Maybe it was the glow of Valentine's Day that made you two hop into bed together." Theo snickered, ignoring the glare coming from Daphne's aqua eyes. "Have you kept sleeping together?"

Shaking her head, she gave him a little smirk, "No, we haven't. Even though, from what I can remember, it was the hottest sex of my life. Oh, Merlin, The things he could do with his hands."

"Ugh! Okay, I didn't need to hear that." Theo said, not knowing to laugh or throw up. "Have you told Harry yet?"

Setting her hand on her still flat stomach, not wanting to look at Theo's eyes when she told him, "No, he doesn't know yet."

"You need to tell him! I can't keep secrets! Are you expecting me to keep this from Hermione? I can't do that. Hermione will clearly know that I know something and try to get it out of me. Hermione will do whatever means necessary to get me to break!" Theo ranted off, which in turn made Daphne laugh at his expense. "And nothing will be enjoyable for me!"

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't know that me being pregnant was all about you." She said between light giggles. "By the way, Hermione does know. She was the first to know."

"Thank Merlin for that. That would have been hard to keep a secret." He said, leaning back in his chair before he made eye contact with Daphne. The laughter that filled the room quickly disappeared, "You have to tell him."

Letting out a lough sigh, she nodded her head, "I know, I do. It's just how do you tell someone you're pregnant with their child?"

"You told me easily."

"That's different. You're Theo, my best friend since birth. I can tell you anything." Daphne softly said, along with silently cursing herself with the tears that were forming in her eyes. "I don't know how to talk to people. And I most certainly don't know how to talk to Harry Potter."

"I think you do know how to talk to Harry Potter, and that's what scares you. You clearly had no problem with talking to him the night he got divorced." Theo could tell Daphne was about to retort, but he shut her down before that could happen, "Sure, there was alcohol involved, but you still were able to talk to him. Potter isn't that bad of a guy. And you know that."

"I know, I know." Setting her hand in her hands, "That's just what makes this so hard."

"It shouldn't, though. Daph, you need to talk to him. Before he finds someone else and things get more complicated."

"What do you mean before he finds someone else?" Daphne asked, staring at Theo. Instead of him responding, he got out of the chair and walked to her office door. He gave her one more look, then walked out the door.

When Daphne got home that night, she found Hermione sitting on the couch reading. Usually, Daphne would leave her alone and do her own thing until Hermione would close her book. But this time, the blonde threw her bag on the chair next to Hermione. In turn, making the bushy-haired witch jump.

"What does Theo mean that Harry is going to find someone else?" Daphne asked once she had her roommate's full and undivided attention.

"Daph, what are you talking about?" Hermione asked, wondering where her roommate's freak out was coming from.

"Is Harry seeing someone?"

Shaking her head, Hermione continued to give the blonde a confused look, "Not that I know of. Why are you so afraid that he wants to do so?"

"Because I'm carrying his child! I don't want him to go out and find another woman, then not care about our baby or me." The blonde said as she began pacing across the crimson shag rug that Daphne hated with a passion. "I can't have the father of my child dating other women!"

"Expect Harry doesn't know that he is the father of your child," Hermione said, one eyebrow raised, "So in his mind, he can date anyone that wants him. Since the one woman, he does want hasn't talked to him for almost a month."

Stopping in her tracks, she turned towards Hermione, "He wants me?"

"Of course, he does! You are all he can talk about. It is quite annoying, actually." Pushing herself off the couch, Hermione walked over to Daphne and put her hands on the blonde's shoulders, "You can have Harry if that's what you want. You have to tell him, and I can promise you that he will not go anywhere."

"You promise?" The blonde whispered as she let her roommate pull her into a hug.

Rubbing a hand up and down her back softly, "You can be happy, Daph."

"I'm going to tell him," Daphne said somewhat confidently as she began pulling away from the hug. "Tomorrow."

Hermione gave her a small nod before the blonde went to her bedroom. Once Daphne's bedroom door was closed, Hermione pulled out her phone and dialed Theo's number, "You were right. It worked. She's going to tell him tomorrow."

"Told you it would work," Theo said on the other line, "Daphne is going to kill me when she finds out. But no one knows how to manipulate a Slytherin like another Slytherin."

Letting out a small giggle, she looked at the time, "So want to get some dinner?"

"Yes, and then other things."

"Goes without saying, Theodore."

Daphne knew Harry had his own personal office within the Auror Headquarters. This would make this visit much more comfortable than having to do so in front of all his co-workers. Rumors followed anyone associated with Harry Potter. She knew she would have to be used to dealing with them, but that didn't mean she wanted to start right now. Pretending she didn't feel the eyes of the Aurors working in their cubicles was much more manageable.

"Hello, can I help you?" The pretty young receptionist who sat in front of Harry's office asked.

Daphne couldn't understand why she felt a tight knot in her gut as she made eye contact with the receptionist. Her eyes were a much lighter blue than Daphne's, and her strawberry blonde hair highlighted her face in just the right way for her not to need any sort of makeup or charms. Daphne hated this woman without even needing to know her.

"Are you looking for Auror Potter?"

Nodding her head, Daphne replied, "I am. Is he in?"

The receptionist gave her a once over before responding, "He is. Do you have an appointment?"

Before Daphne could respond, Harry poked his head out of his office, "You can send Daphne in, Allison. She's a friend, no need for an appointment."

"Of course, Auror Potter," Allison replied, giving Daphne a fake cheerful smile before the two disappeared into Harry's office.

"Don't tell me you have one of those receptionists who's in love with you," Daphne stated after the door was closed and silencing charms were thrown up. Smiling as Harry let out a laugh in response.

As she took a seat in front of Harry's desk, Daphne took a look around the office. There wasn't anything flashy. It was very Harry. Papers all over the place, a broom tucked away in the corner by the door, and photos of friends and family. One picture caught her aqua eyes, and when Harry followed her eyes, he let out a small sigh.

"I need to replace that one, don't I?" Harry asked as he picked up the moving picture of him and Ginny holding each other with bright smiles on their faces. The attire showed the picture was taken at their wedding. They looked happy in that photo, and yet here they are, divorced five years later.

Nodding her head in agreement, Daphne knew she needed to get out what she needed to get out before she chickened out. Before her stomach had other ideas, and the small breakfast she had this morning of toast and apple jelly came back up and into Harry's trash can.

"So, how have you been? I haven't seen you for a while." Harry said as Daphne made eye contact with him.

"I've been good. Work has been crazy, probably why you haven't seen me." Daphne said with a small smile on her face. It wasn't a complete lie. Other than purposely avoiding Harry, she was busy with work. Her newest project needed a lot of research.

Even though Harry had a smile on his lips, there was something in his eyes that showed he didn't fully believe her. "I did go to your office a few times to take you to lunch, but you weren't there."

"I could have been in the research library or out.'

"Or you've been avoiding me. And I have no idea why." He said as Daphne tried to keep her face straight. Damn him for being an Auror. And a good one at that.

"Harry."

"Did I do something? Cause we have been getting along smashingly. And I don't understand why you would be avoiding me if I didn't do anything." Taking a good look at the girl sitting in front of him, he sighed. "I just want to know what I did."

Seeing the agony in Harry's eyes as he spoke to her, Daphne knew that this was the moment to tell him. She just didn't know how he would react, "I didn't mean to avoid you. I, uh, well, I don't know how to say this, other than just saying it."

"Harry, I'm pregnant."
