I don't own the Dragon Prince or its characters

Please don't sue me I'm broke

The screen lit up and showed a river flowing and several magical creatures. Then came a voice.

"Long ago, Xadia was one land...rich in magic and wonder. In the old times, there were only the six Primal Source of magic...""We know of these events. Why are we being shown them?" Ethari asked.

"Perhaps for Callum and Ezran to have some back story." Queen Sarai guessed.

"The Sun. The Moon. The Stars. The Earth. The Sky. And the Ocean. But a thousand years ago, a human mage discovered new magic. The seventh source. Dark magic."Why would humans want to use Dark magic? It seems wrong." Ezran said.

"We use it because it is practical, young Prince." Viren said.

"It used the essence within magical creatures themselves to unleash dark power. Horrified by what they saw, the elves and dragons put a stop to the madness. They drove every last human to the west."

"Why did they drive out every human and not just the Dark mages?" Callum asked.

"Because there was no way to tell who knew and didn't know Dark magic." Lain explained.

"What is done is done. We cannot change the past, but we can do our to carve out the future we want." King Harrow said.

"And so, the continent was divided in two. In the east, the magical lands of Xadia. And in the west, the human kingdoms. For centuries, the King of the Dragons himself defended the border. The humans called him Thunder, for when he spoke, his voice shook the Earth and the sky. But on the eve of last Winter's Turn, the humans used unspeakable Dark Magic to slay Thunder."

"What!" All the elves shouted.

"You humans murdered the King of the Dragons!" Tiadrin shouted.

"Calm down, we don't know what really happened or why the humans did that." Ezran said calmly. The elves looked at the humans wearily.

"Then, without mercy, they destroyed his only egg, his heir... The Dragon Prince. now the world stands on the edge of all-out war."

Then the words Book 1: Moon Chapter 1: Echoes of Thunder appear.

"That's cute." Ethari says as they see Ezran snuggling Bait and drooling on him.

"Take that, marshmallow monster!" screen Callum exclaims.

"Callum!" screen Ezran shouts.

"It's okay, Ezran. It's just a thunderstorm. Nothing to be afraid of. Go back to sleep." screen Callum said.

"I wasn't scared... Bait was scared.

Ethari chuckled and smiled at Ezran.

The screen changes to a soldier patrolling in the mud and rain. The guard heard a rusting in the bushes

"Who's there? Declare yourself in the name of King Harrow!

"Who are they?" Sarai asked.

"An assassin team. One of which looked like me." Runaan explained.

The chase scene continued until the soldier was stuck in a ditch.

"Please!" The soldier begged. "Who are you?" he asked.

"Why is she hesitating? He should be dead already." Runaan said.

"Her first mission most likely." Tiadrin guessed.

Then lightning flashed revealing her eyes and markings.

"Wait a minute, Rayla?" Lain said confused.

"Makes sense on why she's hesitant and just let him go." Ethari said.

"She's too soft to be an assassin." Runaan said. The others agree.

The soldier ran away and back to Katolis.

"High Mage! Please, it's urgent!" The soldier said while knocking on the door. " Lord Viren! I've seen something." the soldier said out of breath.

" Lord Viren, uh... King Harrow hasn't risen yet." One of the guards said.

"Viren, didn't I tell you if you ever woke me up this early again I'd have you executed."

Sarai chuckles. "What? It works most of the time." Harrow said.

"I'll give you a moment." Viren said

"So, what's so important that you come into my bedroom risking your life like this?" Harrow asked.

"Assassins." Viren said

"I see." Harrow responded

"A scout on patrol discovered them just before dawn." Viren reported.

"Well, don't look so grim. We've fought off plenty of assassins. Haven't we Pip?" Harrow said.

"It's different this time. We believe they're Moonshadow elves." Viren said.

"Moonshadow elves? Then how did the scout escape?" Harrow asked.

"He got very lucky." Ethari said.

"I don't know. It was muddy, wet, dark. Somehow he got very lucky." Viren said.

"The Crown Guard won't be enough to hold them off. Send for General Amaya and the Standing Battalion." Harrow ordered.

" The breach is to far. They'll never make it back in time." Viren said.

"What's tonights moon?" Harrow asked.

"Full." Viren answered.

"Why would Rayla be on such an important mission that it requires a full moon?" Lain asked.

"I wish I knew." Runaan responded.

"Of course it is." Harrow said humorlessly.

"With the Moonshadow elves at the height of their power, no defense will stand against them." Viren said.

"Then we won't defend. We will attack. We must find them today, in the light of the sun, and stop them before it's too late." Harrow said.

Then the screen turned over to Rayla.

"Well, that's a creative wat to make some think you killed someone." Callum said.

"She should have made the kill." Runaan said.

Ethari chuckled when it showed Runaan meditating. "You and your constant meditation." Ethari said.

"Well done Rayla." Screen Runaan said calmly.

"Yeah, I used both of them." Rayla said.

"I can see that." Runaan said.

Then the scene changed to a bakery.

"Ah,yes, my favorite place!" Sarai said happily. Harrow and Ethari chuckled. "You look like Rayla when she was younger. She would make that face when she got a Moonberry Surprise." Ethari said.

"Bait, shh." Ezran said.

"Prince Ezran! I caught you!" The baker said.

"I was just... admiring them." Ezran said.

"Oh, with your hands?" the baker asked

"Yeah. They look amazing. Ezran replied.

"Well, they are amazing and they're not for you! Or your little monster, Bait. Did you just..." the baker stammered.

"You can tell by his eyes he's innocent." Ezran said.

Everyone laughed at Bait's eyes.

"Are you kidding me? I'm standing right here. Hey" The baker shouts and runs after Bait.

"Prince Callum. Today we focus on the art of--" Soren started to say.

"Art! Finally something I'm good at. Sorry, sorry. Won't interrupt again. Please... continue, Soren." Callum said.

"The art of defense is critical in sword fighting. Parrying is about angle, motion, anticipation. Misjudge your opponent and it's over. You ready?" Soren said.

"Uh, I'm gonna have to say no." Callum said.

"Great. Let's do this." Soren said.

"Parry, parry, parry... You're dead. Parry, parry... You're dead. Parry... Dead." Soren said in a bored tone.

"Really? Are you sure? Even if I was wearing armor?" Callum asked.

"Yep, even if you were wearing armor." Ethari said.

"Even if you were wearing the rarest legendary armor, forged by Sunfire elves... Super dead." Soren said

" I'm terrible at this!" Callum said.

"Yep. But you have to practice anyway, because that's what's expected of a prince. Or a step-prince, actually." Soren said.

"What?" Callum asked.

"What?" Soren said.

"Hey, your sister. She's gonna walk right into that--" Callum started to say.

"Shh." Soren said.

"Claudia!" Callum shouted.

"Oh. Hi Callum!" Claudia said.

"You're no fun." Soren said.

"Is this new?" Claudia asks.

"Relatively new. It's only been there for 300 years. Hey, uh, can we try again? I think I can do it now." Callum said

"What was that?" Soren asked.

"I don't know. Uh, I was trying to "sweep the leg"?" Callum said unsure of what he but said.

"That's not a thing in sword-fighting. Oh. I see what's going on here. Don't worry, I'll help. You come at me this time. Oh, I am stabbed! By the stab-prince! Lord Stabbington! Why? Spurt! Spurt!" Soren says dramatically.

Most of the group chuckles at Sorens antics.

" Nice work, Callum. He deserves it." Claudia said to Callum.

"Prince Callum. The King needs to speak with you urgently." Opeli said.

"He didn't really stab me." Soren said while holding up the wooden sword.

The screen transitions to the throne room.

"Boys! You're going on a trip. To the Banter Lodge!" Harrow said.

"But... it's spring. That's the winter lodge." Callum said.

"Eh. Winter is coming... eventually." Harris said

"What will we do? Everything fun there has to do with snow or ice." Ezran said.

"Maybe you can invent new versions using... first and rocks. You could build a dirt man! Or what about mud-sledding? That could be a thing. Look, this is something I need you to do." Harrow said.

"Nice job trying to convince them." Tiadrin said sarcastically

"Dad" Ezran said.

"It's decided. You'll leave before sundown, so go get packed up." Harrow said.

" Yes, sir. Come on, Ez." Callum said.

" Why's he sending us away? Something's wrong." Ezran said worriedly.

"Everything's going to be fine. All right? I'm sure of it." Callum said.

"What's going on, Father?" Soren asked.

"We have visitors from Xadia...Unwanted visitors." Viren said.

"What are they, minstrels or something?" Soren asked.

"Assassins." Claudia whispered.

"I know! What do you think, I'm an idiot?" Soren asked.

"They've set up a secret camp somewhere near the base of the cliffs. Soren, you will lead an attack." Viren said.

"Right. Their secret camp. How am I supposed to find it if it's secret?" Soren asked.

"These assassins are Moonshadow elves. They draw power from the moon.

"Really? How do you do that?" Ezran asked.

"I don't really know how to explain it kid. It's just something we know." Lain said.

"Inside this box is an Archangel Lunaris... A giant moon moth. It will be drawn to their energy. Follow it, and you will find them." Viren explained.

"And what happens if I can't find them?" Soren asks.

"Then we may be on the brink of changing times." Viren said

"You're saying they'll kill the king?" Soren asks.

"Discretion, boy! Do you want to cause a panic?" Viren said furiously.

"I'm sorry." Soren said.

"Just get out there and find them. Before sundown!" Viren said harshly.

"So, if these really are Moonshadow elves, then once the moon rises..." Claudia started saying.

"They'll be unstoppable." Viren finished grimly.

"Well, I'm going to find a way to stop them. After all, "unstoppable" is just another kind of stoppable." Claudia said.

"How has she survived this long?" Runaan asked. Viren glared at him.

"That's my daughter." Viren said.

"Leave it Runaan. It isn't worth it." Ethari said.

"No. That's not really right." Viren said.

" Yeah, it made more sense in my head." Claudia said.

"Wait, I'm coming with you!" Callum said

"He's joking right? He'll be killed in second with that armor." Runaan said.

" Yeah, Callum you really shouldn't go." Ezran agreed.

"You look Terrific. But, just so you know, that's ceremonial armor. It's three times as heavy and half as strong. Oh, but so shiny." Soren said.

"I don't care. I know what's going on and I'm coming with you."

"You're just a kid, Callum." Soren said."I'll be 15 in two months." Callum argued."Ooh, 14 and 3\4! Wow!" Soren said sarcastically." Five a sixths. Soren, he's our king. And he's my father. It's my duty to help him." Callum reasoned." Well, technically he is your steps dad. But I'm sure it's similar. Think fast! Oh, you were suppose to catch it." Soren mocked.

"What a jerk." Tiadrin said.

"Four full moons pas, on the be of the Winter's turn, the humans crossed into Xadia and murdered the King of the Dragons. Then they destroyed his only egg, the Dragon Prince. Tonight we bind our lives to justice!"My breath for freedom!""My eyes for truth!""My strength for honor!""My blood for justice!""My heart for Xadia!" Rayla said."Life is precious. Life is valuable. We take it, but we do not take it lightly." Runaan said."Moon reflects sun, as death reflects life!" Rayla said."That was beautiful. Even if the whole thing is being done before killing someone." Callum said.

"Moonshadow culture is built on the basis of life and death." Runaan explained.

"When it is done, I will send a shadowhawk with a blood ribbon message to the Queen of the Dragons. We strike when the moon is highest." Runaan said."Uh, Runaan?" Rayla asked."What is it, Rayla?" Runaan asked" I was wondering... what if the know we're coming?" Rayla asked"We have the advantage of surprise. If we act fast, we will accomplish our goal without sacrifice."Wow, even the way you speak is so cool and magical." Callum said with awe. The elves chuckled.

"Runaan has sort of a gift for sounding poetic all the time." Ethari said happily.

"Oh, Bait, you're terrible at hide and seek." Ezran said."Ez! What are you doing?" Callum asked."Hi Callum. Do you want a--" Ezran asked."No, I don't want a stupid jelly tart! Why aren't you packed? You know we have to get going soon." Callum shouted."But, you're not packed." Ezran said."What do you think I'm doing? Ezran! You don't get it, do you? Why do you think they're sending us away? Because they're coming to kill him!" Callum shouted."Let's see if this magic moon moth can find more than a closet full of moon sweaters. You know, cause moths eat clothes." Soren said."Yes, sir." The guard beside him said."Let's go!" Soren shouted."They know we're here! Mystica-Arbora!" Runaan whispered."How did you do that?" Callum asked.

"The elf used the moon opal, young Prince." Viren said.

"Nothing! Surprising no one, a magic moon moth is just as worthless as a regular moth. We'll have to wait for the elves to come to us." Soren said."You lied to me! You let him go!" Runaan said darkly."Runaan, I'm sorry! The human... he looked up at me and I saw the fear in his eyes." Rayla apologized."She still had a job to do." Runaan said.

"Yeah, she did, but she saw that he was a person just like her. Someone with a family." Ezran said defending Rayla's choice
