Amaya: How did you do it?

Rayla: How did we do what?

Amaya: "We"? How many are there of you?

Rayla: Did I say "we"?

Amaya: Don't look away from me.

Rayla: It's just me. I'm alone.

Amaya: : Liar. If there are more of them, the princes are in danger. Do not take your eyes off her.

Rayla: Careful with those. Wouldn't want to lose a finger. I mean, can you imagine going through life with only four fingers?

"How can you be so optimistic when you're being held prisoner?" Gren asked.

"I knew Callum and Ezran would get me out of it." Rayla responded.

"You put too much faith in them." Runaan said.

"There's nothing wrong with that. Callum has saved my life many times." Rayla said.

Callum: This is one of your weirdest ideas.

Ezran: Weirder than snail armor?

Callum: Ez, snails already have armor.

Ezran: Then why do they keep getting smooshed?

Callum: We're not...My point is, I don't know if this plan will work.

Ezran: She'll know what to do.

Rayla: Have you met Bait? Say hello to my little friend. Thanks. Come on.

Amaya: Stay right there, elf. Callum, Ezran, come here.

Ezran: Callum, we should just tell her.

Amaya: Boys, get away from her.

Callum: Wait!

Rayla: What are you saying?

Amaya: He says, if we don't let you go, you'll kill them and drink their blood. That you are a monster.

"You trust this human? After he said that?" Runaan asked.

"He didn't mean it." Rayla said.

"He still shouldn't have said that." Runaan said.

Callum: Right, so you have to let us go.

Amaya: It's okay, Callum. I've slain monsters before. Do it. Take her out.

Rayla: Go ahead, take another shot. But read my lips. The next time I swing my blade, I'll end them in half a second. Move, humans.

Ezran: Ow! Ow...Rayla: What now? Ugh. I don't think a boat--

Callum: Just get in.

Amaya: If the elf realizes we followed them, she'll take the princes' lives. We need to be careful. Corvus! Track them, but stay out of sight. And when you see an opportunity, free them. The rest of you ride with me.

" Did you even try to make sure you weren't being tracked?" Runaan asked.

"Eh...no. I did run into him though." Rayla said.

"And? What happened?" Amaya signed.

"You'll see what happens to Corvus." Rayla said.

Callum: That worked. I can't believe it.

Rayla: I can't believe you're such a jerk.

Callum: What? What's wrong?

Rayla: You called me a bloodthirsty monster. You have no idea how that feels.

Callum: But I don't actually believe any of that. I was just trying to scare her. I thought she'd back down.

Rayla: Oh, that went well. They tried to kill me.

Callum: I'm sorry. That's not what I meant to happen.

Rayla: Well, it did.

Callum: You found it?

Rayla: It's a toy. Probably from a children's game. I hope it was worth it to you, putting everyone's lives in danger.

There was another flash. There was a new member.

"What is going on?" Soren asked.

"Well, we've been summoned to watch us take Zym to Xadia. So far, I'm the one from the farthest point." Rayla explained.

"Well, I was walking with King Ezran to help the wounded." Soren explained.

"So, we're from about the same time." Rayla said.

"Really?" Soren asked.

"Yep. Also, your father is here. He isn't a crazy evil dark mage yet." Rayla said.

"Oh, hey Dad." Soren said.

"Hello Soren." Viren said.

Soren: It's almost time, Father. Crown time. Or, as I like to call it, the Crown Hour. Crown o'clock?

Viren: Thank you. That will be all. No song for the occasion? Hmm? People of Katolis, King Harrow's death has wounded us deeply, but the loss of his sons, the princes, is a greater injustice. By taking the heirs to the throne, our enemies sought to leave us without a leader. It would disgrace Harrow's memory to let the kingdom he loved to be lost in darkness. Though it is a heavy burden, I will humbly take up the fight in Harrow's name. I will become Lord Protector of the realm.

Amaya: Stop! Stop the coronation! The princes are alive! The screen faded and the next episode started.

"That was a close call. It's a good thing you stopped it Amaya." Soren said.

"Good to know I stopped total disaster." Amaya signed.

Viren: Good morning, little rays of sunshine. A volunteer. How eager.

Rayla: This doesn't end well for you.

Callum: Last night, you thought the cube was just a worthless toy. But now we know--

Rayla: It's a glow toy.

Callum: Exactly.

Rayla: Exactly. I'm going to find some food.

Ezran: Wait, we've got food. We grabbed a sack of bread at the Banther Lodge.

Rayla: I thought this was a sack of clubs.

"Did that piece of bread just crack that stone in half?" Soren asked.

"Yep. It was weapon-grade." Rayla said.

"Your binding is getting tighter." Runaan said worried.

"Don't worry. It will be fine." Rayla said.

Ezran: No, it's food...ish.

Rayla: I'm good.

Amaya: Thought I might run into you here. We need to talk.

Rayla: Here goes nothing. Ugh. What is this thing made of?

Callum: Help! Help!

Rayla: What is it? What happened?

Ezran: He tried to copy Claudia's lightning spell, but he doesn't know how to finish it.

Callum: Yeah, I...I only saw her do the first half. But I'm very good at the first half.

Rayla: Seriously? that sounds like a really good and safe idea.

Callum: Okay, lecture well deserved, but what do I do now?

"Wait. This is what happened when Callum tried it the first time?" Soren asked.

"Yep. You should've seen his first successful try." Rayla said.

Rayla: When you release a spell, there's usually a word or a phrase or something in ancient draconic.

Callum: Okay, Uh, anybody speak dragon? I don't speak dragon.

Rayla: You didn't hear Claudia say anything?

Callum: No. I mean, I think right when I grabbed her hand away, she might have called me a fool.

Rayla: Yeah, fool seems about right. Okay, give me a second. I know some draconic words. Just let me think.

Callum: Know what? I'm just gonna throw it.

Rayla: What? No!

"That doesn't seem like a good plan." Ethari said.

"It wasn't very fun." Rayla said dryly.

Callum: Yeah, I'm gonna throw you the Primal Stone.

Ezran: That's a good plan.

Rayla: No, that's not a good plan. Throwing is bad.

Callum: I won't throw it. I'll just gently toss it.

Rayla: No,no,no! No throwing! No tossing!

Callum: Tossing it. Ha! Ah! It worked. I'm okay.

Ezran: You're kind of making a sizzling sound.

Callum: Sorry about that. I guess I'm just so excited to be learning magic, and I got a little carried away.

Rayla: Okay, enough almost killing me. The sooner we return this egg, the sooner, maybe, this war can end. It's time to hit the road.

Callum: Road? Why wear ourselves out walking on the road when we can let the river do the walking?

Rayla: Nope. Say goodbye to that boat. We go by land from here.

Callum: But why? The river's going the right direction, and moves much faster than we could ever on foot. I mean, look at those legs.

Ezran: What? I have nice legs.

Rayla: We're walking. That's final.

Callum: Is there maybe another reason you don't wanna take the boat? Something you're not telling us?

Rayla: So, wait. Are you like this back-flippin', tree climbin', sword-stabbin' elven warrior, but scared of a little splish and splashin'?

"You're still scared of water?" Lain asked.

"Yeah, so what? I made it across a lake once." Rayla said proudly.

"You got on a boat willingly?" Runaan said.

"Yes I did. You'll see, I'm sure." Rayla said.

Ezran: Aw, that's cute.

Rayla: Fine, we'll take the stupid boat.

Amaya: How could you let it come to this?

Viren: You speak as if I invited these assassins.

Amaya: I had to leave our stronghold at the Breach. Do you have any idea the dangerous forces gathered at our border?

Viren: I did everything in my power to protect King Harrow. I was willing to give my own life.

Amaya: Then what went wrong?

Viren: He did. His own stubborn ways stopped me from helping him. You know him as well as I do. His pride was more important to him than his life!

Amaya: You wanted this outcome.

Viren: How dare you suggest--

Amaya: His death creates opportunity for you.

Viren: His death breaks my heart.

Amaya: Then honor him. Find his children.

Viren: They're gone, Amaya. Captured by a Moonshadow elf. If they're not already dead., they will be soon. This is a time of crisis. An empty throne is a beacon of weakness, an invitation to destroy us. We must defend Katolis and all the human kingdoms against what's coming. I can help us from there. You think I am being an opportunist. But I couldn't be more selfless in my motivation. I am a servant of Katolis. I am a servant!

Amaya: Those are awfully nice clothes for a humble servant, Viren.

Viren: You don't believe me. Then you take it. Go ahead. Sit down. I'll support you as queen regent. I'll gather the High Council and we'll send word to the other crowns of the Pentarchy immediately.

Amaya: The throne stays empty until we find the boys.

The screen paused.

"You may now have lunch." Gathon said.
