I fell off my skateboard again. Nothing is broken, but I scraped my left arm up pretty bad, so writing is gonna go kinda slow until it stops hurting. One last thing, do you like the longer chapters that are 1 episode or do you like the shorter chapters that are only half. Tell me what you prefer. Enjoy!
Entering scene with Viren lighting a candle and sitting in his chair while staring at the mirror.
Rayala: Callum, I'm sorry. I tried to tell you the king was dead.
Callum: My stepdad. He was more than just the king to me.
Rayla: Your stepdad. I know. I really tried, but I could never find the right way. And whenever I tried, I messed it up, and the next time was harder, until--
Callum: Rayla, just stop. I can't talk about this right now. All I can think about is how I'm going to tell Ezran our father is gone.
Rayla: I'm sorry, Callum. I'm so, so sorry.
Soren: So, have fun on your little date? What happened? What did he do to you?
Claudia: Nothing happened. Callum would never hurt me.
Soren: Oh. Then how come you're all weep-ridden?
"You looked fully ready to go beat up Callum." Amaya signed.
"Claudia is my sister. It was my job to protect her." Soren said.
"Was? What does that mean?" Viren asked.
"It's complicated." Soren said.
Claudia: That is not an emotion, Soren.
Soren: My point is, are you okay?
Claudia: Yeah. I'm gonna be fine.
Soren: Because you're my sister, as you know. I'm always here for you… to punch someone, or whatever you need.
Claudia: I know.
Soren: Good. We still have to bring the princes back with us. Whatever it takes, whatever happens. I need to know that all this won't get in the way of doing what we came here to do.
Claudia: It won't. I can do it.
Ezran: Callum?
Callum: Morning, Ez.
Ezran: I had another weird dream. I was running from that giant hippo. The one made of taffy, remember?
Callum: Uh, I think so?
Ezran: Only this time, there was someone riding on his back. It was the baker. The one who didn't like me.
Callum: He'd like you if you stopped stealing his jelly tart.
"You were the Jelly Tart thief Barris kept complaining about?" Harrow said with his eyebrow raised. Ezran nodded and Sarai chuckled.
Ezran: He said I was wanted for crimes against dessert. And to make the hippo chase me, the baker told him I was jelly-filled.
Callum: Ez--
Ezran: I was a pastry fugitive, Callum. It was terrible. And the worst part was he was right. I was delicious.
Callum: Let's go for a walk. So, Ezran, I wanted to talk to you about… life, and growing up and how sometimes there are changes you don't expect.
Ezran: Is this the talk about sandwiches?
Callum: No. No, no, no. No, not that. No, definitely not that. Uh… Mmm. Ezran, for a long time, I treated you like a little kid. And that wasn't fair. You've grown up so much, and I'm really proud of you.
Ezran: Oh, yeah.
Callum: But when you grow up, sometimes you have to face things you're not ready for.
Ezran: I know.
Callum: You know?
Ezran: I know everyone's counting on me to teach Zym how to fly. But that's just the start. Someone's gonna have to teach him all the things he's supposed to do. Everything he's supposed to be. And he's meant to learn it all from a big, strong King of the Dragons. But he doesn't have that. All he's got is me.
Callum: Hey, don't be so hard on yourself, Ez. I know it'll be tough, but no matter what, you've got us. Me and Rayla, probably Bait. We're all here for you.
Ezran: Thanks, Callum. That means a lot. But I really wish Dad was here. I keep wondering what he would do. What he would say to Zym. When I was little and I wasn't listening to him, Dad would say, "Ezran, you're a handful." So I tried to do that with Zym. "Azymondias, you're a handful." But he doesn't understand. He doesn't even have hands. I guess I just miss Dad. He'd know what to do, you know? Callum, what's wrong?
"I wish I was there for you two." Harrow said.
"Me too. We could've really used your wisdom." Future Callum said.
Callum: Nothing, Ez. I just really miss him, too.
Callum: I couldn't do it. I couldn't tell him.
Rayla: Callum…
Callum: And I understand why you couldn't tell me. When you care about someone, it's hard to hurt them. Even when what you're telling them is the truth.
Rayla: I still should've told you. You had the right to know.
Callum: I think maybe I did know. Deep down, I knew. I just hoped, if I didn't think about it, maybe somehow, it wouldn't be true. But he's gone. He's really gone.
Viren: The fire. Huh.
Lain and Tiadrin tensed and unconsciously made to grab their weapons, but they were not there.
"Worry not, Dragonguard. He cannot harm you." Gathon said. They relaxed a little when he said that.
"I don't understand, who is he?" Rayla asked.
"No one good. It would have been better if you had left that mirror at the Storm Spire." Lain said.
Viren: No, no. No! Who are you?
Callum: When Soren said that Dad wanted us home, you knew he was lying.
Rayla: Yeah.
Callum: Unless, maybe Soren was also trying to protect our feelings.
Rayla: Oh, right. He definitely seems like a thoughtful, sensitive, feeling-y protect-y kind of guy.
Callum: Yeah, you're right, that's not really his style.
Rayla: We don't have a choice anymore. We have to leave. Get as far away from them as we can before they even realize we're gone.
Callum: Whoa, wait a minute. They're still my friends.
Rayla: But they lied to you.
Callum: Soren lied to me. Claudia told me the truth. We can't just leave.
Claudia: Leave?
Callum: Yeah. I'm sorry, but we've decided. We're leaving today. This mission, taking the Dragon Prince back to Xadia, it's the most important thing we'll ever do. We can't go home with you.
"It is easy to say no to an enemy, but it is hard to say no to one you trust." Runaan said.
"Yeah, I've learned that." Future Callum said.
Claudia: Oh.
Soren: Are you sure? I mean, your dad is gonna be really disappointed.
Claudia: Soren, what is wrong with you?
Soren: I'm just trying to--
Claudia: Don't! Stop it, Soren.
Soren: Ugh, fine. Do what you want. Stupid moths.
Claudia: I'm sorry about him. But before you go, Callum, I have something to give you. In private.
Callum: Oh. Uh, all right.
Callum: So, closed door? Open door? What's… What do you…
Claudia: Uh, closed is fine.
Callum: Closed. Good. Okay.
Claudia: I have something for you. Something you dropped.
Callum: That's my letter. From him. You didn't open it?
Claudia: Why would I do that? It's for you.
Then there was a bright flash. Another person appeared.
"We have another person." Sarai said. The group looked over and there stood Claudia. There was a streak of white in her hair.
"Clauds? When are you from?" Soren asked.
"You just got hit and I helped you." Claudia said and Soren nodded. Then Claudia saw the elves and froze.
"Relax, we can't kill each other. Trust me, we've tried it already." Rayla said while glaring at Viren.
Claudia: Though, I mean for the record, I could have opened it and pretty easily re-sealed it with magic.
Callum: Wait, did you?
Claudia: Did I? We may never know. But, no. No. So, are you going to open it?
Callum: No. I don't think I'm ready yet. But thank you, Claudia.
Claudia: You're welcome. So, I guess this is goodbye.
Alright, I'm probably going to stick to half episode chapters unless a lot of people like the full episode chapters. See you next time.
