Hi everyone. As I always say, I own none of these lovely characters, but I do love to borrow them and play!
Korsak slowly sips his coffee as he goes through the file on his desk. He has sent the young men in search of new answers to an older case. He feels his phone vibrate in his pocket. Korsak's face lights up as he reads his text message.
"Hey, Gimpy." Jane rolls her eyes as she hears her nickname of the day. She made the mistake of telling one person of Maura's care of her scraped knee and the nickname was born.
"What?"
"What are you doing for lunch?"
"Probably just eat here at my desk. Maura is involved in a new case and can't break free."
"Want to take a ride with me?"
Jane thinks for a minute and shrugs. It would be nice to get away from the desk for a while. "Sure, why not."
She closes the file that she is working on. Once her desk is in order, she stands and stretches.
"Where are we going?"
"To a pet store around the corner."
"Oh, do we need to buy a new toy for your baby?" Jane gently teases Korsak. Everyone knows how he loves to spoil his dog.
Korsak chuckles. "No, I have to go buy some special dog food. Didn't I tell you that I'm now fostering dogs?"
"What do you mean?"
"The shelter will give me temporary custody of certain temperament type of dogs to socialize. This betters their chances to get adopted."
"What do you mean, 'certain temperaments'?"
"Oh, if they nervous or scared. None that would harm another dog though. I can't put my baby in danger."
They enter the pet store. Korsak looks for the special diet dog food that the text message suggested. He also throws in a couple of new tennis balls and a pull toy.
Jane is perusing the dog treats. "Do you know the breed or how big it is?"
"She's a medium sized mutt." Korsak pulls out his phone and shows Jane a picture. "Pretty thing, isn't she? Looks like she has some black lab in her."
Jane's heart melts when she see the picture. She grabs a box of medium sized dog bone treats.
"You know Korsak, for a tough cop, you are such a softie!" Jane pats him on the back. "You have a good heart. Thank you for what you do for these animals."
Hi everyone! Hope you enjoyed National Mutt Day! There are perfectly good dogs (and cats) to adopt at your local shelters.
Thank you for all the reviews that I've been receiving. You are all the best!
My love to Belgium!
