Hi everyone. As I always say, I own none of these lovely characters, but I do love to borrow them and play!

Jane and Maura sit eating their dinner in the kitchen. They had reached an agreement early in their co-residency that they would respect each other in the kitchen. Jane would try Maura's earthy-crunchy-healthy food and Maura would eat Jane's way also. Tonight's menu consists of a salad of mixed greens, filet mignon cooked medium split between the two and steamed vegetables.

Jane watches as Maura rubs her forehead. "What's the matter, Sweetheart? Headache?"

"Yes, I believe I have a slight tension headache. Work has been a bit stressful."

"Tough case?"

"Detective Crowe's case, need I say more?"

Jane put her fork down and runs her hand through her hair. "Is he being a twit? Turd? Asshole? Loser?" Jane continues her list of derogatory names for Crowe in hopes of making Maura smile. She succeeds.

"Let's say he's impatient and exacerbating."

"Want me to talk to him? In private?"

"No, Jane."

"Glue is desk drawers shut?"

"No Jane."

"Fix it so that his chair will tip over when he leans back?"

Maura laughs. "No, Jane!"

Jane puts on a pouty face. "Aw, Maura. You won't let me have any fun!"

They finish their meals with easy chatter. They clear the table, start the dishwasher and move into the living.

As Jane settles into the corner of the couch, she pats the space next to her. Maura snuggles under Jane's arm and pulls a fleece blanket over the two of them.

"What shall we watch tonight?"

Jane finds the remote and hits the guide menu. "Let's see what's listed."

She flips through until Maura grabs her hand. "Wait, how about this one." She takes the remote and picks a channel.

"The Rockefeller Tree Lighting? Sure, I think we need a little something that's light hearted and holidayish."

"Jane. There is no such word as 'holidayish'."

"Maybe not, but it fits."

"Jane, did you know that this year's tree came from central Pennsylvania? It's a Norway spruce, 85 feet tall and weighs 13 ton."

"Well, thank you for that information."

"Yes, but Jane, do you want to know what the most interesting piece of information is about this tree?"

Yes, her girlfriend is totally back to normal. "Of course, I want to know."

"Well, the tree is going back to Pennsylvania and the wood will be used to build homes for Habitat for Humanity."

Jane is actually surprised with this information and raises an eyebrow. "No kidding? Wow, that's putting it to good use."

"Jane, do you ever want to go in person to see it the lightning?"

Jane shakes her head vehemently. "No! I hate the crowds. New Year's Eve is worse. I had to work Times Square as a rookie to get used to crowd control. The crimes committed in crowds just makes you shutter."

Maura files the fact Jane does not want to be in crowds like that into her list of things to finalize in her proposal plans.

The show starts and Maura snuggles back into Jane's arms and sighs in contentment.
