Hi everyone. As I always say, I own none of these lovely characters, but I do love to borrow them and play!
Jane and Maura dash through the front door. Jane shakes raindrops from her long, curly hair and rain coat.
"What a nasty day! My clothes are drenched just from walking from the car!"
Maura is placing the wet umbrella and coat on her 'wet' coat rack that has a rubber mat beneath it to catch any wetness.
"I'm going upstairs to get changed, Jane. Are you coming up?"
"I'll be right up as soon as I secure my weapon." Jane takes her weapon and locks it in the drawer of the heavy stand in the living room. She gathers the mail, places it on the kitchen island and finally heads upstairs.
Jane stops in the doorway as she watches a soft fleece top slide over Maura's magnificent bare breasts. That sight never failed to take her breath away. Her mind goes blank. She knows she was about to say something, but it was gone. Poof.
"Jane? Are you ok?"
Jane literally shakes her herself. "Um, yeah. Great. I see we are getting nice and cozy?"
Maura runs her hand down the fleece. "I don't believe we are going back out tonight. I thought it was an appropriate attire to choose."
"I agree with you." Jane quickly divests herself of her wet clothing. Her clothes are easily thrown in hamper to be washed at home. Maura sits on the bed to watch the strip show, admiring her girlfriend's athletic physique. Maura loves following the muscle lines running through Jane's body.
Jane dresses herself in BPD sweats, unaware of the admiring looks she is receiving. She grabs a towel to dry her hair. "Oh, we received some Christmas cards."
"That's wonderful, but it reminds me that we haven't written out ours yet.
Would you like to write them tonight after dinner?"
Writing out cards was never Jane's favorite thing to do, but it was more fun with Maura. Now that they were a couple, they take turns picking out the cards. The other would have 3 veto votes to make sure they didn't absolutely hate the chosen card. This year is Jane's choice and she chooses a humorous set. It takes Maura a little effort to break away from the formal eloquence of her usual cards, but smiles at Jane's choice. They are so... Janish.
"Jane, could you get all the supplies out and I will serve the tofu turkey chili from the crock pot?"
Jane rolls her eyes. "Maur, I like the chili, but could you not remind me that it's not 'real' chili?"
Maura chuckles. She hopes it will get easier over time to have Jane eat healthier.
Jane gathers the cards, stamps, address labels, pens to bring to the table. Steaming bowls of chili with cheese and slices of multi-grain bread are waiting for her.
"Don't forget we have our party this Friday night, Jane."
Jane groans. She is not a fan of company parties. It means she has to socialize with people she doesn't like. "Do we HAVE to go?"
"Oh, Jane. It won't be that bad. It's at the Dirty Robber and we like going there. There's a theme this year. It's an Ugly Sweater Party. Why would anyone want to wear something ugly, Jane?"
"It's actually a popular theme now. It mocks the ugly sweaters everyone used to get as presents."
Maura still looks confused. "I never received any ugly clothing."
Jane rolls her eyes. "Of course you didn't."
"Well, we still have to shop for our attire for the party."
"No, we don't. I think I've got this covered." Jane pulls out her phone and starts typing. Soon, she gets a return ding. Jane nods.
30 minutes later, the dishes are in the dish washer, Christmas music is playing and the ladies are writing out cards. They hear the back door open.
"Hey girls, I brought you over some choices." Angela has several sweaters in her arms.
"Excellent, Ma. Knew I could count on you!" Jane gets up to look over the sweaters.
Maura looks surprised. "Angela, you seem to have a few, unique, looking sweaters."
Angela chuckles. "What can I say, Frank had horrible taste in clothes, but gave them as gifts from the kids, so I couldn't get rid of 'em."
"Now, Ma. These are pretty bad, but can we make them any uglier?"
"Oh, sure. I got some ideas. When is the party?"
Jane looks a little sheepish. "Friday?"
Angela raises the famous Rizzioli eyebrow. "Doesn't give me much time, does it?"
Jane hangs her head. "Sorry, Ma. But I have faith in you to make the best ugliest sweaters!"
"Harrumph!" Angela gathers the sweaters and heads back out the door.
Maura looks a little worried. "Does your mother really mind doing this for us?"
"Nah, she loves a challenge. Speaking of which, let's finish these cards!"
"Yes. Do you know what's on television tonight?"
Jane finishes continues signing cards. If Maura is excited about something on television, maybe I should sign slower. "Oh, I don't know. Something about about the Black Plague or some kind of history or medical stuff?"
Maura laughs. "No, silly! It's the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. Are you interested?"
Jane looks up and her eyes glaze. She pushes cards at Maura. "C'mon, Maur. Let's pick up the pace!"
"Jane! Can you please not be so obvious in your desire to look at the model's bodies."
Jane looks up and puts on her most innocent expression. "I don't know what your talking about, Maura. It's all about the wings."
Maura laughs. "Right."
Hi! It was a very hectic week! My apologies for posting late! Hope everyone is well! Thank you for all the "favoriting" and "following". You all are so wonderful. It fills my heart with happiness. Thank you! And did any of you watch the Victoria Secret Fashion Show? Pretty impressive wings, right?
Love to Belgium!
