Hi everyone. As I always say, I own none of these lovely characters, but I do love to borrow them and play!
December 12
Jane hears the ding of her phone as she heads down to Maura's office. She makes a quick detour to the cafeteria.
"Thanks for bringing the sweaters, Ma. We didn't have time to run home."
"Oh, that's no problem. Now I get a chance to see them on." She hands Jane 2 garment bags.
Jane takes the bags. "We'll be right back." She hurries down to Maura's office to change.
"Got the sweaters! Ready for the unveiling?" Jane takes the sweaters out of the bags and Maura's mouth drops open. Jane laughs.
"Jane, those are truly ugly sweaters!"
"Yes, looks like Ma out did herself."
One sweater has giant snowflakes sewn on with a snowman. The other sweater has red and green pompoms scattered all over with Santa and his reindeer.
"Hmmm, which do you want, Maura."
"Um. This is a tough choice, Jane."
"Let me help. Why don't you take the blue sweater with the snowman? I'll take green with Santa."
The women put on their sweaters and go to show Angela.
"Oh, girls! They look wonderfully awful on you! Why don't you have the lights on?"
Angela points out the battery pack sewn into the back hem of each sweater.
"Oh, that''s why it was heavy." Jane turns her's on. There are lights on her sled, the leads of the reindeer and Rudolph's nose glows red.
"Ma! This is totally awesome! Maur, turn yours on!"
Maura flips a switch to light up pretty blue blinky lights on each of her snowflakes that make them look like falling snow.
"Oh, that makes my ugly sweater almost pretty!" Maura is pleased.
Each woman gives Angela a quick kiss on the cheek as they rush to the Dirty Robber. They walk into a sea of ugly sweaters, Santa hats, elf hats and mistletoe hats.
They spot Korsak, Frankie and Frost at the bar. Korsak has a puppy with a Santa hat; Frankie has gingerbread man and Frost is wearing patchwork of red and green.
"Wow, look at you ladies! Where did you find those sweaters?" Korsak is admiring the lights sewn in.
"Ma made them. I think she could go into business making these things!"
Jane orders herself a beer and wine for Maura. The party wasn't that bad if she gets to hang out with these guys. It's like a typical night at the Robber.
Maura is gazing around, happy to be part-taking in something she only read about online.
Are we having fun? Is anyone going to an Ugly Sweater Party this year?
Have a great weekend everyone!
Thanks and hugs to all
Love to Belgium!
