Hi everyone. As I always say, I own none of these lovely characters, but I do love to borrow them and play!

Maura sticks out her tongue as she pipes white frosting on the 'roof' of her gingerbread house to make it look like snow. Jane looks over and smiles at the concentration she sees on Maura's face.

"Are you sure you've never done this before?" She gently teases.

"Oh, no. Mother hired artists to create villages of gingerbread houses."

Jane rolls her eyes as she glances at her mother. Angela shrugs. She cannot comprehend the childhood that Maura had.

"Well, I saw these kits when I was buying the decorations for your ugly sweaters and couldn't resist. They reminded me when the kids were small and we would make them out of graham crackers glued onto milk cartons."

Maura stops what she is doing. "Glue? Wouldn't that be counterproductive if anyone wanted to actually consume the gingerbread house? In fact, why not call it a graham cracker house if you were using graham crackers?"

Angela blinks and her mouth opens.

Jane comes to the rescue. She is used to Maura's quest for information. She does her best to explain what everyone else would consider typical/everyday life.

"See, Maura? For kids, graham crackers are a... sturdier alternative to gingerbread walls. And the glue is just white frosting to make sure it sticks to the milk carton." Jane takes a gum drop and pops it in her mouth.

Angela is using peppermint swirl candies to create a walkway. "I don't remember ever eating the houses after we made the, do you, Janie?"

"Na, they get kinda stale after sitting around for a couple of weeks. I think we used to either throw them away or put them out for the birds and rats to eat."

Angela chuckles. "Yes, all of you would go out in the morning to see how much was eaten overnight."

Maura puts a candy cane stick along her roof line. "Did you know that today is Noughts and Crosses Day?"

"Excuse me? What?" Jane's forehead gets wrinkled.

"It is also called Tic Tac Toe Day - 3 in a row. The way we write the date in America is 12/13/14, sequential order. If you drop the zeros, that won't happen again for 89 years on 1/2/34 or for 3000 years on 1/2/3."

Jane and Angela look at one another. "That's actually kinda cool. So, let's think for a minute. If a woman gives birth at 9:10:11 on 12/13/14, that would be one awesome birthday!"
