The screed died as Orb looked for another universe to take a look at. "I still need to do something for the White Fang group…" orb mused, finding what he was looking for.
"Dr. Oobleck would love this." Orb said to no one as the screen started again
Sienna furrowed her brow. "Who is Dr. Oobleck?"
"A professor at Beacon." Ozpin answered, sipping on his coffee.
Ironwood looked at his friend. "Ozpin! You can't just give information like that to known enemies!"
At this Adam growled. "Of course you would refer to me as a known enemy, Atlas dog! I was just start-"
"I was referring more so to Cinder and her duo, but sure. You can be in that group too, if you want." Ironwood cut her off, glaring at him with equal measure.
"Down James. Down." Glynda sighed, pulling the general back into his seat.
Orb gave Adam a look. "Please calm down, Mr. Taurus. The next scene is coming up."
The scene opened up at Beacon Academy, the camera looking though a window at an unknown teacher teaching what one could assume was history. The camera passed through the window, taking a "seat" in the back of the room.
"And now that brings us out of the Faunus Terrorist age and into the New Democratic Republic of Menagerie and it's revolution, which is our modern history unit in this class." the teacher droned. It was hard to tell if they were male or female. While Orb knew of their fluid status, it was difficult to pin them as either or.
"Terrorist age?" Sienna asked, annoyed that that is what her white fang was remembered for. Ironwood smiled, glad that they were remembered for what they were.
The teacher turned to write down the timeline. "Now, we cannot talk about the Second Revolution or the founding of the current government without talking about three major characters." the teacher said, writing down their names. "Sienna Khan, Adam Tarus, and Jaune Arc."
Wiess squinted at the name, making sure that she read it right. "What? What does Arc have to do with the White Fang? Or this New Democratic Republic?" she asked, confused as to what a human had to do with Menagerie. Sienna and Adam were both confused as well.
The teacher crossed out Sienna and Adam's names. "Now, we've covered Sienna and Adam earlier, so today we are going to talk about Jaune Arc." the teacher said, opening their book.
"Jaune Arc started his long career of world wide impact as a huntsman in training. However, being a "certified dumbass"" the teacher said, putting that in quotation marks. "As he calls himself, he failed to gain the proper requirements to get into beacon, so he forged the necessary documents."
"He did WHAT?" A student said, in shock.
The teacher gave a small snort. "It always surprises me that that gets such a reaction out of people."
Qrow snorted at that. "Yeah, we had the same reaction." he said into his flask.
"But anyway, after spending roughly a year in this academy and then getting kicked out by Headmaster Ozpin, he would wander around as a sword for hire for a couple of years."
Ironwood glowered at this. Mercenaries were no good men only out for money. A sentiment shared by many of the people in the theater.
"Jaune Arc would specialize in the setting up and protection of frontier towns, which would at the time lead him to Menagerie and it's still forming government."
The teacher droned. "Now, can anyone tell me how Jaune Arc got involved with the Menagerie government and the White Fang?"
This was met with a very awkward silence.
Roman rubbed his face. Adam was confused. "What exactly did this Jaune do to become so important?"
Roman knew what he did. He knew that silence.
A meek student towards the back raised her hand. A frog faunus. "Didn't he uhh… erm…"
The teacher raised their eyebrows. "Yes, Ms. Cottel?" they said, knowing that they had the answer.
"Didn't he kind of sleep with Sienna Khan by accident?" The faunus asked, bright red.
The teacher smiled. "He did. He did indeed."
At this, most everyone did a spit take. Sienna was in shock. "I'm sorry, I let a human do what?!"
"You and Jaune Arc would have sex." Orb said matter a factly. In fact, they would have a lot of sex, but that was unimportant.
The two faunus sputtered at this, somewhat shell shocked. A human, really? Really?
The teacher smiled at the faces of the students. "And from this encounter, he would become heavily involved in the White Fang's movement to get Menagerie recognized as a kingdom."
A student raised their hand. "Yes Mr. Wukong?"
Sun raised an eyebrow, looking at the black haired monkey faunus that had raised their hand. He looked at Orb, hoping to find something.
Orb decided to let it be for the moment. He could tell him later.
"The NDRM is not a kingdom though. It is its own sovereign government." the grandson of Sun pointed out.
"That is true, Mr. Wukong. The current government of Menagerie is not a Kingdom. So what does that mean?" The teacher posed to the class.
The class thought about it for a moment. One student blurted the answer out. "It means that they failed."
The teacher looked for the student that said the answer. "Correct, Mr. Balthazar. Please raise your hand next time. But yes, the Khan-Franklin document did not get signed by the four councils due to Atlas pulling strings, and failed to ratify Menagerie as an independent kingdom, preferring to keep the nation as an unrecognized collection of individuals." there was a scribbling of notes as the teacher spoke.
"It was at this point that Atlas began to clearly influence the development of Menagerie via the SDC and… let's say questionable military movements." the teacher continued, writing down a list of events on the board.
The White Fang representatives and a decent amount of the student population glared at the general for that.
"Really, Jimmy? Bullying an island without a formal government? Not a good move, man." Qrow teased.
"I'm sure there was a good reason." Ironwood defended himself and his country.
The teacher tapped the board. "So! Other important events at this time! Atlas starts to spread it's military influence, and Vale reinstates a government military, which is really just controlled by Atlas. The Birdman revolt in Minstral happens at roughly this time as well."
Pyrrha made a concerned face. "Birdman revolt?"
"The first revolt against the wealthy oligarchical classes, like your own. This one would fail, led by Gorbachiv "Birdman" Voloski, a refugee from Atlas. It would, however, inspire several other revolts and the eventual revolution against the facist oligarchy council of Minstrel."
Pyrrha gave a wince, knowing the higher life of Minstrel and only some of the class disparities.
"So we are entering a time of revolution and disarray. And it is at this time that the White Fang decides to forcibly create its own kingdom of Menagerie." The teacher continued.
Ren thought hard about that. "How would one forcibly create a kingdom? If the other kingdoms don't recognize you, then how is that going to happen?" He asked, concerned as to how a tiny island would force four much larger kingdoms to recognize them.
"This would be met with resistance. Not by the people of Menagerie, but by Atlas. Now, the SDC and other larger corporations had been sticking their fingers into the untapped resources of Menagerie for decades at this point. Having Menagerie suddenly having the ability to deny those companies purchase in Menagerie? That scared Atlas."
Most of the adults with an amount of foresight connected the dots. Ironwood groaned, rubbing his temples. "I hope that I've retired at this point." He sighed.
Sienna just rolled her eyes.
"They sent in the troops, right?" Asked another student, raising their hand.
The teacher sighed. "Yes. Now, can anyone tell me why Atlas was so successful in the first two years of their invasion?"
Someone snorted in the back. "Because the Animals arn't as good as humans."
Adam verbally growled at that, clenching his fist.
"There are racists in every generation it seems." Qrow sighed, taking more liquor into his system.
The teacher sighed. "There's one every year." they said. "No, they lost ground in the first two years because Atlas outnumbered the White Fang by at least 100 to one and had superior warfare technology."
Ironwood could not help but smile, taking some pride in the military he had built.
"However, it was during these two years that Jaune Arc rose though the White Fang's army. Becoming a prominent military leader and Vice General to the Menagerie Liberation Army, which we talked briefly about yesterday. Jaune would earn the nickname "The White Wolf" after the disbandment of the official White Fang, despite key leaders such as Adam Tarus, Sienna Khan and the Albain Brothers."
Yang made a face. "What did Jaune do to earn a title? And The White Wolf? He's not even a wolf faunus?" Yang considered that. "He's not a wolf faunus in this universe, right?"
"He is human." Orb confirmed. "He did fake being a faunus for quite a while though in order to not be killed by the more radical White Fang."
"And he was not caught?" Adan asked, amazing that this human was not caught by the faunus.
"He almost was, but he said one thing that removed him of all suspicion in Sienna's eyes."
Sienna's face was of shock. "And what was that?"
"Me? Human? If I were human, I would be a very ballsy one." Orb quoted
There was silence in the room at that.
"Balls of steel." Qrow whistled, repeating his main impression of the Arc.
The teacher drew out a crude shape of the world. "As Atlas sends their fleets from across the ocean, the initial push into Menagerie was loosing momentum. Guerrilla warfare tactics by the MLA, the loss of key fights such as the Battle at Wolboo and the Solarias Plains, where Jaune Arc would earn his name. Within four months of the Solarias Plains, Jaune Arc and the MLA would fight the Atlas forces to a standstill."
That got a murmur out of the crowd. "How did he manage that?" Ironwood asked.
"How did he manage that?" A student asked.
The teacher had to think about that for a moment. "That is a good question.
How does one push back an army that outnumbers you by 100 to one, has air and naval superiority, and better equipment?"
Mr. Wukong raised his hand.
"Yes?"
He smiled, quoting his long time idol and subject for the lecture. "You outfight them. If you're strategy is one to one hundred, then your tactics must be one hundred to one." he said.
The teacher smiled. "Yes. and that is what Jaune Arc did. It is arguable that he is the greatest Tactician and Strategist we've had in living memory. We will go over that particular war next class. But the MLA forces Atlas into peace treaties after dragging them into a war with staggering costs. Over 22 trillion lien spent by the Atlas council for this war alone, and the war cost Atlas, whose strategy was to simply overwhelm the continent. It would fail due to Atlas simply not being able to get their forces fast enough to Menagerie. It was the strategy of surge after surge of troops verses a constant stabbing, small attacks at supply runs and moving armies."
Ironwood knew the tactics behind this, and knew that they were the best available for this yet to exist Menagerie Liberation Army. he had to respect the Arc's tactical mind. "Winter."
"Yes, Sir?"
"Remind me to look into the possibility of acquiring this Jaune Arc into our folds." the general said to his subordiant.
Ruby turned to them. "You can't take Jaune from us! Just because we get to see him be awesome does not mean you get to have him!" she complained to the general, who just went from confusion to a small smile. Ahh, to be innocent and young like that.
"Don't worry. We won't force him to join us, Ruby." the general laughed. "You don't have to worry at all."
The teacher continued her lecture. "So, Atlas eventually gives after a costly war in the Treaty of the Twilight Gap." While Atlas did not technically loose the war, it was viewed as Atlas lost by everyone. And now comes the hard part."
Wiess made a face at that. "What could be harder than beating the largest army in the world with a rag tag group of volunteers?" she asked
"What could be harder than a bunch of animals getting lucky against atlas?" the racist said.
"Building a government from the ground up." The teacher responded. "You see. The New Democratic Republic of Menagerie has a unique form of government, being the only nation with both a bicameral legislative branch and a separate executive branch. There are two heads of government, the Prime Leader and the President. While the Prime Leader is elected by the Bicameral branches by being the head of the leading party in the upper house, the House of State, Aka the house of wolves. The president is directly elected by the votes of the various constituencies in Menagerie. Executive and Judicial powers are shared by the President and Prime Leader"
Those who concerned themselves with government structure thought about this. It was unlike the dual branch that the other kingdoms had. The legislative and executive branch securely in the councils, and the judicial branch being put in place by the councils. It was… a unique idea at least.
The students were suffering the same train of thought. "But… isn't that horribly inefficient?" The frog Faunus asked. Ms Cottel, if Orb remembered correctly.
The teacher's eyes widened with the look of a person who just had someone walk right into their trap.
"It would be, wouldn't it? However, before we tackle why the NDRM works as a system, let's tackle its founding. Work on a constitution started practically the day after the treaty was signed. Jaune Arc, an aging Ghira Belladonna, Madison Blake, and Sienna Khan would be the main crafters of the near 10 page document."
Adam cocked his head at the list of names. "And what of the Albain brothers?"
"Assassinated during the war." Orb responded curtly
Adam nodded. "Shame." He never really liked the Albain brothers.
"The Menagerie Constitution would be met with mixed views. The more conservative groups disliked the new government format, believing it was too ineffective and not strong enough as a government. It does have some merits, however. It would not suffer from the general issues of corruption and tyranny that other countries had suffered in recent years." The teacher continued. "But the era of founding was a rocky one. Getting other nations to recognize the republic was… difficult, even after the hard fought political battle. This particular era will be gone over one thursday. But continuing on our timeline, Sienna Khan is elected the first Menagerie president, Adam Tarus heads the nationalist party, and Jaune Arc heads the liberal DAAP, Duty and Alliance party.
Adam gave a hum. "I did not see myself as a politician." he said to himself.
"While Adam Tarus would be the Prime minister, it is arguable that Jaune Arc was the real political powerhouse. He would write the majority of legislature during Sienna Khan's first and only term. The White Wolf would write over 50000 pages of political speeches, legislature and laws, and papers in the first 6 years of this government."
General Ironwood and Ozpin paled at that mind boggling number. Nora turned to look at them, wanting a good baseline to compare that too. "Is that a big number for six years?" she asked, beaming.
"Yes." Ozpin and Ironwood said together, in such a tone that it shut down any question of further clarification.
The class paled at that as well. The idea of 50000 pages of school work? No thank you! The teacher continued. "After Sienna Khan announced that she would not be running for a second 5 year term, instead opting to be a member of parliament, it was a tight contest between Jaune Arc and Adam Tarus for presidency. While political parties are not recognized by the government nor are parties allowed to endorse candidates as a whole, there were clear alliances to the two main parties and the respective Candidates. Adam Tarus would win the second election by only three percent, and Jaune Arc would be the Prime Minister, endorsed by Adam himself, saying "there is no better man for the job." Jaune Arc would hold the position of Prime minister for 20 years."
Roman whistled at that. "Long time to be in power for someone who's elected every 5 years." he said. Cinder scoffed. Why bother with elections when you could rule for life?
"Jaune Arc would go on to be president for an unprecedented three terms after spending 25 years in the chamber, pushing through education, welfare, and tax reforms. Menageries huntsman academies, Taurus Academy and Lantern Academy, would be built under Jaune Arc's presidency. Jaune arc is, at the moment, just about to start his fourth term as president. So, now that we are on the topic of his presidency, let go over the more impactful reforms and actions that he took-" the teacher was cut off by the bell. They sighed, closing their book. "Alright class! Pack up and get out, class is over!"
The class left as the screen went dark.
"Soo?" Orb asked, wanting to know his audiences opinion on the possibility.
Adam Tarus considered what he just. "It makes me glad that there is a future where the Faunus achieve their goals on equality and representation. Makes it even more justified." she said, stretching out.
"It surprises me that a human would be so… dedicated to our people." Sienna said after a moment of consideration.
"Are your opinions on humans changing?" Blake asked, almost snidely
Adam gave a small snarl at that. "One human doing good does not excuse the actions of others." he spat.
Sienna Khan was quiet. "But one evil action condemns them?" she asked herself, her voice below a whisper.
Orb heard it though, because Orb is Orb. An orbital eyebrow raised as he gave a side eye to the tigress.
Remember, Orb is a ball of bronze colored fire with bronze rings rotating around him.
"Should I put on another one? I understand that that one was rather boring. It was a history lesson, after all."
Ozpin nodded. "No, it was fine. It was interesting to hear about Jaune from a historical standpoint."
Orb nodded, turning to Glynda. "You are free to go, should you wish. I am sure you have duties that must be attended to."
Goodwitch nodded respectfully. "Thank you, Mr. Orb. how do I…?"
"Just think of Beacon rather strongly." Orb instructed, and with a pop and a poof, Glynda Goodwitch was gone, back safely at her own office, with her own mug, grading someone else's papers.
"Now, let's see what I can muster this time." Orb smiled, already scanning through the multiverse.
Hi! The whole contacting you guys after the chapter is growing on me! I have a question. What do you guys like seeing? Do you like the whole History kind of thing that's just talking, or would you prefer more action filled shorts? Also, what universe would you like to see again? (please don't say universes that are already completed (ARI).) and I see a lot of fucked up/ evil/ psyco Jaune stories. Do you guys actually enjoys those? Or are the writers just kind of fucked?
Respond in the comments. I'll see about it next week or something
