It had been a month since the incident in the dungeon. So far, our Familia has not experienced any other problem. We had no one else who tried to rob us. After the night I spent with Emilia and Yuuki at their place. I can say we got a bit closer. We were able to move forward even after the incident.
Requests to recruit Emilia have been minimal. I think other Familia are afraid of her appearance. And the others who weren't, something weird happened, having offered Emilia to join their Familia and sent us not-so-subtle threats. They retracted soon after. Saying they didn't want her anymore. There is something going on and I don't know what.
Currently I was in my room. Yuuki and Emilia were in their house, Guts was in the living room and Lady Amaterasu in her bedroom. I was in my room, I observed the status of the members of my Familia to see their progress.

As for me, I managed to find that I still had a limit to my basic abilities. And that limit was SSS1499. I don't know if Bell had such a limit since it has never been so high. I have already succeeded in maximizing AGI and DEX. I'm done with VIT soon, but I need to focus on STR. I still haven't had any magic. I have to get one when I level up. Otherwise I will take more delay for the MAG increase.
Once I was done looking at the paper, I put it down and went to bed. I am close to having maximized all my abilities. Once I have done it. I will have to go on an adventure. I would have to fight a battle with my life on the line, so that I could pass level 2. I fell asleep shortly after.
The next day, we left for the dungeon all together. Heading to the twelfth floor, we had been exploring this part of the dungeon for about a week now. The difference between the eleventh floor and the twelfth was the fog. The twelfth fog is much denser. We must therefore be more careful, the monsters can take us by surprise.
We were the four. We had just arrived in this floor and have not yet come across any monsters. We moved forward making sure that Emilia was at the center of our formation so that we could protect her. We also kept Yuuki, a little more in the center. Her abilities were still low for this floor, but she made up for it with those sword skills. We had been on the twelfth floor for ten minutes when we encountered our first monsters.
It was a small horde. There was 1 Silverback, 6 orcs and 8 imps. We all drew our weapons. Then I gave my orders. "Guts take care of the orcs, Yuuki I'm counting on you for the imps, Emilia you stay behind and you support us. I take the Silverback." And immediately after everyone is put in position. "Don't forget to stay close, he might want to lose us in this fog." And then I charged towards the Silverback that was approaching us.
It wasn't the first time I had faced a Silverback. The first time I met one, it even managed to damage me. But now it was no longer of great difficulty for me. I still let him hit me a bit to increase my VIT. Not a direct strike, it still remains a monster with a great force.
At the same time I observed what the rest of my Familia was doing. Guts had no problem dealing with the orcs. He made them fall one after the other. Yuuki managed to get by with the Imps. She would have had more trouble without Emilia's help that he was supporting her by throwing those ice weapons at the monsters that were trying to surround her. But as I looked towards Emilia, I saw some monsters that I hadn't seen at first.
"Watch out, Emilia behind you." Behind her were the Bad Bats. From what I could count three. As she turned around, one of the bad bats charged her. She managed to dodge, and she planted a spear that she could summon at the time. The others sent sound waves to disturb her.
Meanwhile the silverback, seeing that I have my attention elsewhere, tried to attack me. I cut off his arm with which he was trying to hit me. Then I jumped up to his blow and stuck my two short swords in his throat. It then disappeared into black dust.
I then turned to Emilia wondering how she was doing. She had barely managed to dodge the sound waves. And had managed to kill another bad bat. But the last one had finally touched her. I rushed over and threw one of my sword at the last one. She managed to hit and the monster fell to the ground dispersing into dust.
I went to help Emilia who, following the sound wave, was disorienting. I helped him get back on his feet. I turned to the others. Guts was done with these orcs and was helping Yuuki with these Imp. So we managed to finish with these monsters.
It took Emilia a few minutes to collect all those spirits. Then we continued to explore the twelfth floor being more careful that there was no bad bat to surprise us. I could tell that everything was going well. And we keep chasing monsters for a few hours, then we decided to wind up.
We were on the sixth floor, when something caught my eye. I could see that a group of adventurers had surrounded one person. The adventurer was blocking my view and I couldn't see him well. But I immediately understood what was going on here.
These adventurers attacked this person. While I could go my way and leave this situation as it is, after all I didn't know this person. but I can't let people get hurt in front without saying anything. So I approached the adventurers, I wanted to tell them that attacking in a group someone alone is really cowardly.
But before I could even open my mouth, I saw something amazing. The person I could see now was a girl with a halberd, it was a simple steel halberd. She had hit one of the adventurer who attacked him with his halberd, she must have had strength because the adventurer and fell instantly and is not relieved. The other two watched in shock as their comrade was suddenly knocked out.
Following this this girl planted her weapon in the ground and hit one of the other two in the ribs with her foot. Once again, his strength sent this stolen adventurer crashing into the wall. The third understanding that he had no chance, he just take these comrades and it is escaped by going up the dungeon.
Her strength was still in the realm of the adventurers of LV 1. But, she had to be of rank B or A. And it was then that the adventurers left that I could have a good vision on her. And I immediately recognized her. She was wearing her iconic gothic lolita outfit, it really amazed me that she was wearing something like that in the dungeon. It offered no protection.
In front of me stood Rory Mercury, she had her long black hair and those red eyes. And she was watching me because I had stopped close to her. She started to approach me and I could see she didn't want me good, she had that bloodthirsty smile that was so specific to her. She must believe that I must be with those who attacked her so I put my hands up and started talking.
"Wait, I'm not with them. I saw you were having problems and wanted to help you. But I see you didn't need my help after all." I said and she stopped approaching me. I saw her staring at me for a few seconds, probably debating whether I was telling the truth or not. Then she saw that I was not alone. So she put her halberd on his shoulder.
"I see, indeed your help was not needed. But thank you anyway." She says and the members of my group move closer to us. She watched me intently the whole time.
"I have to say I was impressed with your skills and the way you fight. My name is Ashborn, captain of Amaterasu Familia. The big guy behind me is Guts, the silver haired girl is Emilia and the purple haired one is Yuuki." I spoke as I lowered my hands.
"Rory Mercury, I serve the god Emroy." She told me as I thought about the fact that it was a god in Gate. But also because I have never heard of it in this world.
"I have never heard of the god Emroy." Emilia said curiously and she seemed in those thoughts for a moment. Then she answered Emilia.
"Emroy is not a god who lived in Orario when he was still roaming the lower world. And some time ago he decided to go back to the upper world." She told me and I was surprised by these words. And she continued to talk.
"I decided to go to Orario after that. My god told me before I left that I could find another god to welcome me there. To tell you all, it's my first day in the dungeon." I see, she must have some experience with monsters on the surface anyway, I guess.
His god told her to look for a new god in Orario while he returned to heaven. I don't see why he would want to go back there, from what I know it's pretty boring to the gods; I guess he must have those reasons. In any case, it suits me, I have a window to recruit a new person for my Familia.
"It's your first day in the dungeon and you went down to the sixth floor. It's incredible." Yuuki said with his usual glee.
"The person who advised me to the guild said I could go down to this floor with my current abilities. I already had experience hunting on the surface." She said and that famous smile came back. Knowing her from Gate, I wonder if she's talking about monsters or people. Surely both.
After that we came to the surface and traded our stones, managing to get 28,000 Valis in all. I don't know why but Rory followed us or rather followed me, all still watching me. Actually that doesn't bother me. Spending time with her may give me the opportunity to make her agree to join our Familia. Then I spoke to Rory.
"Tell me Rory, do you have a place to stay in town." I asked her and she turned to me. And then answered me.
"Right now, I'm sleeping at the hostel, I intended to stay until I find a Familia that I want to join. But… "She didn't finish her sentence but now she was staring at me, with that same smile.
"If you suggest me, I wouldn't mind joining your Familia." She finished and I was completely surprised by her proposal. And so she stuck to me and grabbed my arm. I couldn't help but blush a little at our proximity. The girls didn't seem happy with what they were seeing.
"It's true that I had that in mind when I heard that you were looking for a Familia. I wanted you to join mine. Your skills would be useful to me to realize my dream." I said and I could see she was having a curious look now.
I heard Guts sigh and heard him say. "Another girl." I smiled at his annoyance before answering him.
"What can I say, I'm drawn to talented girls." I said and the other girls blushed at my compliment except Rory who came close again. I turned to the girls.
"What do you think of Rory joining our Familia. I think she would make a good member." I asked them. And it was Yuuki who answered first.
"I don't mind, she would indeed be useful in our Familia. But she should learn not to stick to people." She says, I turn to Emilia.
She smiles at me before answering. "I think this is a good opportunity to have a new member. I will support your choice, Captain." I smile at her and thank her.
"Very well, since not everyone has an objection. Rory I welcome you to our Familia." I told her. After that we returned to our house. Emilia and Yuuki stayed with us to welcome our new member.
We found that Lady Amaterasu had not yet returned when we arrived at our house. So we settled on the sofas, but to our surprise to all, Rory is installed on my lap.
"Can I ask you what are you doing?" I asked her as she gave me one of those smiles.
"I find it more comfortable that way." She told me and I couldn't help but be dazed by that answer. This answer did not seem to please the others in this room. More particularly to Emilia and Yuuki. After some more argument, Rory finally sat on the couch next to me. And when I say beside me, I mean stuck with me.
After that Lady Amaterasu finally returned from her job. She was surprised to see an additional person in her house. But I think she was also surprised at the way Rory stuck to me.
"Ashborn, who's that girl that's hanging on your arm." She asks me and so I answer her.
"It's Rory Mercury, she would like to join our Familia. She already has a Falna, but her god Emroy has decided to return to the upper world. We met her in the dungeon and she told us that she was looking for a new Familia. Having seen these skills, I wanted to recruit her but she asked me if she could join before I could even propose to her." She then looks at Rory for a few seconds.
"So you are Emroy's child. I can't say that I knew him very much. I ran into him a few times but that's all. Ashborn trusts you to join our Familia, so I trust you. Come follow me I'll give you your Falna." She says and retreats to her room with Rory. After a few minutes, Rory returned with Lady Amaterasu.
"Rory do you mind if I show Ashborn your status. He likes to know the skills of the people he leads." She asks Rory.
"Not at all, but if possible I would like to see his status as well if you don't mind, I would like to know the skills of my captain." Lady Amaterasu looked hesitant but I nodded.
"Alright, I don't mind. I have nothing to hide from the members of my Familia." I said and I could that everyone was curious about my status now. I went to get the newest one from my room. And then I handed it to Rory. The others gathered around her to be able to observe too. In the meantime I looked at Rory's.

"Like fighting a monster above your level. But before leveling up I want to maximize my basic abilities. If you didn't know, when you level up your abilities become an invisible base for your new ones. So if I maximize them before leveling up, I maximize my power." I explain to all my Familia.
"Do you want us to do the same too?" Emilia asked me.
"No, you can do as you like. But if I want to be clear with you. the skill growth effect is reduced on you compared to me. It will take you longer to maximize them all. So if I can give you some advice, don't mind that." If my calculations are correct, it will take them about double my time to maximize their abilities. In the end, I don't think it will be profitable for them. He would gain more power by leveling up when they think they're ready.
After they calmed down, I decided to ask what I wanted to know.

Besides, in her home world, she hated the underground. Because she was afraid of the goddess Hardy, but I met her in the dungeon which is underground. I guess she's never met Hardy in this world. Then it was Emilia who spoke.
"Unbelievable, you look like you're only thirteen." She said and I didn't help but notice that Rory didn't seem to like too much, talking about her physical appearance which is younger than she really is. I decided to change the subject.
"Well I guess we can wrap up our day on this." We still don't have room for Rory here. You mind hosting him too, Yuuki. I believe you still have two rooms left in your house." I ask her and she nods.
"No that doesn't bother me. She is part of our Familia now." She answers me and I thank her.
"Fine, I'll take you home. Rory come on I'll show you where you're going to live now." I speak and we set off. But I asked a question to Rory on the way.
"You want to go to the dungeon in this outfit tomorrow. If you want we can buy you some light armor for a little more protection." I asked her.
"No, this outfit is a gift from my god Emroy. I don't want to wear anything else. I do not need it." She answers me and I nod my head even though I still have my doubts. After taking them home I returned in mine. Lady Amaterasu was already going to sleep apparently. Guts was in the living room, I decided to talk a bit.
"Well, funny meeting today. But I think she will make a good member for our Familia." I said and he looked at me as he thought about it.
"I guess from what we saw. She has good skills, and she masters her weapon well." I heard him say and nod before he adds.
"Even though I'm starting to wonder why so many women are joining our Familia." He looks in my direction at this point. I give him a sheepish smile.
"It's not my fault that the people I find who have potential are mostly women. Look you're the first one I recruited from the Familia and you're not a woman." I answer him. He seems to accept my answer, but he still has a suspicious look. And he responds soon after.
"If we put this fact aside. For now you keep your promise." I look at him with curiosity in my eyes. "I'm not the same as before. A man in constant search of his next fight." I smiled as I fell into my thoughts. Indeed I had promised him a home and companions. I am happy that he feels at home here.
"And me after today, I'm still getting a little closer to my dream." I answer him and he looks at me.
"I understood when you explained your skill to us. The confidence you have in declaring that one day you will make our Familia the most powerful in Orario. You plan to recruit the people you think have potential as adventurers and take them to the top with your skill." I smile at him and nod my head letting him know he gets it. Then I got up from the couch where I was and went to my room. Leaving Guts with a good night.
I sighed when I saw Lady Amaterasu sleeping in my bed. How am I going to do it now. And that's how it ends our day.
23 days later
I was currently in Lady Amaterasu's room. She was updating my status. She was on my back, and spoke to me then.
"It looks like you're finally getting there, Ashborn." She said to me, I suspected what she was talking about but waited to see my status to be sure. Once she finished I got up and she gave me the copy of my status.

I was there, I finally maxed out my basic abilities. I turned to Lady Amaterasu, but saw that she had a worried look when she looked at me.
"Now that you have achieved your goal, you are going to have to perform an act that will impress the gods." She tells me and I understand why she is worried.
"To do that, you're going to have to fight a monster by putting your life on the line." She continues and I move closer to her. I hug her.
"I would do anything to come back alive. I promise, I will come back alive. I would defeat this monster and climb higher in the pyramid of power called Orario. I don't intend to die before making our Familia the most powerful in Orario. As I promised you." I told her.
"I've trusted you so far Ashborn. And so far you have been beyond my expectations. Thanks to you, I now have four wonderful children in my Familia. I know you will do all you can to get back to our home." She smiled at me, but I could see those eyes were wet.
She also slept in my bed that night. And I must say that his presence reassured me. Tomorrow I'm going to look for a level two monster, a monster who is stronger than me in all areas.
The next day I prepared myself, I sharpened my swords, I took health potions. And I headed for the dungeon, in front of the dungeon my Familia was waiting. I was surprised because I said that today they could leave without me because I had a job to do.
"Didn't I tell you to go to the dungeon without me today?" I asked them. Guts answered first. "You thought we were going to leave you alone when you go on an adventure. We want to be witnesses of that."
"It's true, you promised me to have adventures, and I want to witness your fight. Your first great adventure." It was Yuuki who spoke next.
"Sorry we didn't listen to your instructions you told us Ashborn." Emilia spoke up.
"I wanted to see the fight you are going to do today. I wanted to see you give all you have in a fight. We all wanted it." Rory finished.
I smiled at them all then I walked past them telling. "Well, you can come with me if you want." After that we went downstairs. I had planned to go to the middle floors to find a level 2 monster more easily.
But it seemed like luck was on my side because as we walked through the eleventh floor. Adventurers came running towards us. Warning us that an Infant Dragon was roaming the eleventh floor. I smile to myself and walk in the direction he was fleeing.
"It'll be him then, the monster you're going to hunt." Rory asks me.
"Yeah an infant dragon. It'll make a great prey for me to level up." I say and we don't have time to speak any longer because, I hear a roar. And I turn to see a five meter tall red dragon. It's bigger than I expected but that's okay. The infant dragon was the strongest monster on the upper floors, some even say he is the Monster Rex on these floors. As I said a beautiful prey.
"Whatever is going on in this fight. I order you not to interfere. This is my target." I said and walked over to the monster, drawing my swords preparing for battle. "I'm going on an adventure, look closely." Then I ran over to the monster, and our fight began.
I ran over to him and noticed that he had seen me well, because as soon as I got to his reach he tried to hit me with his head. He had a very high speed, I narrowly dodged his strike. But after dodging, I jumped so I could slice his neck. Or at least that's what I had planned, but my blade just slipped over those scales.
I saw that he was going to throw me another hit with his head. And I was still in the air, I put my hand on his scales to throw myself out of his attack. I managed to dodge his blow. But her skin was hot, and I think my hand was on fire. I was standing in front of him, when I saw flames coming out of his mouth. I got out of the way as he spat Red Flames at me.
These flames must have been extremely hot, I had dodged it. But just by being close to her, I felt like I was in an oven. If he hit me with that, I'm done. I walked over as he recovered from spitting out those flames and attempted to stick a sword of my own into his body.
But my blade is broken on its natural armor that is these scales. I landed on the ground. I can't slice it with my blades, and I can't pierce these scales with the point either. I must find a weak point in it. While I was thinking, he hit the ground hard with one of those legs. It made a mini earth shake and got me off balance.
He took the opportunity to hit me with his head, but this time I couldn't dodge. His head hit me hard. The power behind the blow threw me until I crashed to the ground.
"Ashborn!" I heard, but I was too stunned and couldn't tell who was calling me. I could feel that I surely had broken bones from his hit. I looked up to see that he was preparing to roast me like a turkey with those flames. I narrowly escaped, and when I say narrow, part of my legs have burns because it was too close to the flames.
"We have to go help him, he's going to die." I heard, but again I couldn't tell who it was. But that was quickly followed by the voice I recognize as Guts saying. "No! He told us not to intervene, I trust him. He will get there." I smile as I take a healing potion. It healed some of my wounds but I was still in pain.
And that's when I looked at this dragon with its eyes, that I started to move. The pain in my chest was excruciating. I could feel that I had broken ribs, the potion I just drank and adrenaline making me endure the pain.
The dragon seeing that I was weakened, to attempt the same attack as at the beginning and attacked me with his head. I narrowly dodged, but clung to his head at the same time. I could feel the burning heat of his body. My resistance as an adventurer was the only thing that kept me from cooking on his contact.
Once I was hooked to his head, I took my remaining sword and planted it on the only weak spot in his armor that I could find. I stuck my sword into his right eye, heard the beast roar beneath me. A cry to pierce my eardrums. But he was still moving I wiggled my sword in his eye hoping to kill him. But seeing that it wasn't working, I pulled my sword out and stuck it in his other eye.
He has stopped moving. Then he disappeared under me in black dust. I fell to the ground as he disappeared, and saw his magic stone fall beside me. Who was the biggest I had ever seen. I must have hit his brains. I could hear the sound of footsteps rushing towards me. Immediately I saw Emilia remove a healing potion from my belt and pour it over me, seeing that it wasn't enough. She has poured a second.
Seeing that I began to regain color. She then threw at my blow and took me in a hug, which was quickly followed by Yuuki. Rory looked at me with great relief in those eyes. And I could Guts stand a little further away, but I could see he was smiling at me.
After a few minutes then Emilia was crying over me and Yuuki was sobbing. I spoke for the first time. "It's not that I hate being hugged by two girls as beautiful as you. But we are still in the dungeon. And I don't know about you, but I think I'm done exploring the dungeon for today." I said jokingly, but apparently my humor didn't go over as Rory punched me in the head. And Emilia and Yuuki saying I'm an idiot.
After that we all returned to the surface. We immediately headed for our house. I wanted nothing more than to go to sleep after that. Once there I found a very worried Lady Amaterasu waiting in the living room. As soon as I saw her, I gave a huge smile.
"I told you I would come back safe, Lady Amaterasu." Immediately she hugged me. I must have been more tired than I expected because as soon as I was in these arms, I fell asleep. The last thing I heard is Lady Amaterasu sobbing and telling me.
"I'm so glad you came back."
AN: here is the next chapter, I have to say I'm having a hard time writing this one. Especially meeting and recruiting Rory. Sorry if it looks badly written but I couldn't do better. I am happy with the battle with the Infant Dragon. Then you will have to tell me what you think. If there are any errors on infant dragon. Like the fact that he may not be breathing flames. I'm sorry, all I know about him I'm getting from the Wiki.
I think since Ashborn's weapons were broken in his fight, I'm going to have him switch weapons. I was thinking of Death's double scythe in Darksiders. I also hesitate on what magic given to him. Shirou's Trace magic or Sung Jin-Woo's shadow extraction magic. Ah too many choices. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Again sorry for any mistakes that might. Indeed reincarnation exists in the world of Danmachi. But Emilia is not the reincarnation of Satella. But everyone believes the opposite and that's why no one wanted her. I think I did my best to write it well. but to tell you all, I don't think I write well, whether it is to write my OC or the characters that I take from other works.
As for the goddess Dia, I didn't know her before you mentioned her.
I guess you will not read this post because after your review I think I understood that you didn't like my story. But I still wanted to answer you. Thank you for your review. I hope she can help me develop as an author. This is my first time writing and I had this idea in my head and thought it might be cool to write it. I haven't played the games, but I can still find out and fit them into my story if you ask. And for the characters of Re: Zero and SAO. unfortunately I limited myself to one character per anime or game, sorry. The others I will think about it.
Regarding seeing the Danmachi characters. For now the action was very Familia centric as they were just a bunch of level 1 adventurers but Ashborn's recent leveling up is going to get a lot of attention.
but I believe events in one of Danmachi's games have happened in the past. currently Ashborn less than six years from the canon so I don't no if i could do this. and thank you for your review.
