Just an ordinary scenario between a young couple.

Snowy, it's still winter. Their New Year's celebration just finished, and everything must resume to normal again, which meant missions.

Naruto was unlikely hasty. Before, he was so excited whenever a new mission would be thrown his way. However, things took for a turn ever since he got a 'life'. In addition, this new mission wasn't as exciting as he would categorize it. An escort mission, seriously? You've got to be kidding him.

"Easy, Naruto. You're hopping twice your normal speed." Sai told his teammate while catching up to his strides.

"Can't we just use one of your-" The blonde tried to appeal but he was immediately cut off.

"We can't. We're told to stay low. Missing Hinata-san already? Is this what a love life looks like? I'll take note of it."

Naruto grunted. How long can he keep up with this?

In no time, they arrived the abode of the daimyo who requested the mission. They were tasked to escort his young daughter to their winter home and specifically asked if Team 7 could to the job, unfortunately Sakura was too busy in the hospital to join them.

"She looks like the princesses in the films we watch." Sai whispered to Naruto.

They were inside the carriage together with the daughter. Her beauty and manners really fit a princess.

"I heard a lot about you especially during the war." She opened up.

Sai replied, "Of course! But I'm pretty sure, most of what you've heard are about Naruto right here."

The daimyo's daughter blushed.

Naruto chuckled and rubbed the back of his head.

Clearly, the daimyo wanted his daughter to get close to Naruto and was probably hoping that this escort mission or trip would bring the two closer. It was no news that the blonde became a son-in-law candidate #1 ever since he became a war hero.

"I did hear a lot about you, Uzumaki-san." The daimyo's daughter, whose name Naruto couldn't recall anymore, said and added, "You seem like a very interesting person."

Sai just gave his friend a speculative glance. He read scenarios like this from all the magazines he had. He's more than sure that this girl was giving this dense blonde, who's practically wasn't aware, a nudge to ask her for a date maybe?

"Interesting? I've heard too many people saying I am. I guess it's all because there's too much happening in my life dattebayo…" Naruto said in a lively manner.

"D-Dattebayo?" She asked in return, curious about the verbal tic she heard for the very first time in her life.

"Oh! I got that from my mom." The blonde chuckled.

The daimyo's daughter giggled, and Naruto's heart skipped.

All he could imagine was Hinata doing the same in front of him. He mentally shook his head trying to get his mind to get back on his mission.

"Th-That's cute, I think." She commented while twirling her fingers together.

Naruto remembered the time when Hinata would do that. At first, he thought that it was some kind of jutsu, but lately he just knew that it was because she was super nervous in front of him. Instinctively, he looked at the girl's face and the image of a young Hinata giving out the same to him flashed to his head.

"Uh, is there- Is there something wrong with my face?" The girl asked and Naruto realized that he could have been staring longer than he should.

Augh! He couldn't help it.

All he could think about was Hinata. Her and only her

"I! I just remembered someone…" Naruto muttered and embarrassment gradually creeping on.

"Oh, may I know who that is?" The girl asked.

"Ah, is that Hinata-san, Naruto?" Sai teased.

The daimyo's daughter saw that shy look on Naruto's face and right there she picked up that she must be someone so special to him. Maybe, someone he likes. She smiled to herself and wondered if she'll ever find someone who'd think of her so fondly too.

There's a lot of things on Naruto's head. Does he remind Hinata of something about him when they were apart? Would she think of him everytime he'd see someone smile? Would she wish it was him she was with at the moment? Was she thinking of him the same too?

Everyone could notice the lightness in the way Hinata walked it was as if she was walking in clouds. With a smile on her face and a bag of containers containing her home-cooked meals, she headed towards her boyfriend's apartment. The gossiping and curious look of the villagers couldn't bother her one bit.

Naruto-kun left for a mission and she had to go on her own upon his return that's why she decided to leave a cooked meal in his fridge, so he'll have something to eat once he gets home.

Exiting the apartment, she noticed that there were certain people following her around. She got an inkling of this even before she entered her boyfriend's apartment, but she paid in no attention since she thought that perhaps they were just going the same way as hers. However, just now, she was so sure that they were following her.

Pacing slower than her usual speed she found a way to sneak a glance to the people following her.

Oh…

They were the girls who had a crush on Naruto-kun. She remembered them so well, because for a time, she was a bit jealous of them. Oh, no. Don't get her wrong. It's not because they were so close to her longtime crush, but it was because of their courage and confidence to show their admiration to him back then.

But Naruto-kun was her boyfriend now and it took a lot for them just to get together—not to mention that they almost didn't end up with each other.

Hinata smiled to herself. She remembered the days when she would follow Naruto-kun anywhere he goes. Looking back, it was really silly and embarrassing. Recalling how she would hide from him and would faint at his presence had her internally laughing at the fond memories.

"Hinata!" She heard as soon as she neared the village gate.

Approaching was Naruto, excitedly running towards her. Hinata briskly walked to him. He beat no time and engulfed her in a warm embrace.

With face stuffed on her hair, he lovingly whined, "I miss you so much…How come you're leaving for a mission just when I finally see you."

She giggled and hugged him back. "I'll be back soon, Naruto-kun."

He parted a little and looked at her with a small pout on his face. "Don't you ever look at other guys, okay?"

Hinata couldn't help herself from letting out a small laughter.

"Hmm…Let me think about it." She teased.

"Hinata~" He tightened his embrace clinging to her like a koala. "Don't say that!"

"Of course, I won't Naruto-kun. Have I ever looked at other guys even before?" She reassured him in the midst of chuckles, while rubbing soothing circles on his back.

"Hey, Naruto! Let Hinata go! We still have a mission!" Kiba called out—grin apparent on his face.

They separated, which costed a lot of reluctance on Naruto's part.

See you soon. Hinata mouthed and gave a sunshiney smile that seemed so impossible before. A childish giddy grin formed on Naruto's face as he waved her goodbye.

For those who are wondering...Yes, I deliberately left open the part with the fan girls as I will touch down on them later on. This chapter would be pretty much about Naruto and Hinata being an ordinary couple. Naruto was starting to think if Hinata was experiencing their relationship the same way as he did, while Hinata remembered her memories of her harboring feelings for Naruto when she was little. I think these are some of the things couples think about when in a new relationship.

Deeper matters will be discussed as the story progresses as it's not always rainbows and butterflies.
