In a dim lighted room far far away

The dark lord was witnessing an event of grave importance, the UA Sports Festival. He often thought that it was foolish on the heroes' part that they had the audacity to hold such a tournament. It has been proved time and again that the competition favors their enemies.

'The Hero Commission thinks that this helps ensure people of the competence of the next generation of heroes, the future... these oblivious bastards.' He internally snickered while watching the second stage of the festival go down.

'The kid sure is talented, weak… but talented.' The evil-overlord had asked his purple mistful butler to open a portal in the sky right above the stadium, somewhere between the clouds, so he could get a nice view with his 'eyes'.

His vision landed on the blonde girl in the Weather child's team and he could sense the overwhelming sense of familiarity from that far above.

"Of course it's her, it seems the Eighth user of my- your power isn't that smart, huh little brother." Though he didn't think that the mighty Symbol of Peace would succumb to nepotism.

He called out the doctor and asked him to get the details of Melissa Shield...

"Looks like Tomura would have to wait for his quirk."

The trio was walking through the halls towards the lunch area to fill their stomachs before the final match. They'd just paid a visit to the Youthful Heroine as the said woman asked for the greenette's presence to ensure that he is in optimum shape for the final round. It turns out that Izuku had hid the deal he had to make with Uncle Nedzu and his father, that he will forfeit the final round if his body gives up on him.

Fortunately that wasn't the case, while his cells were severely depleted and he probably won't last a minute if he were to be the first one to fight, the Cell Activation quirk was holding up. Given the hour-long break and enough food for his system, he could survive the final round with little trouble.

Or as the heroine told him. "Overexert yourself and I'll make sure this will be the last time you'll use your quirk! Now, good luck dearie..."

Somewhat same held true for the ravenette as well, who was currently limping with support from Melissa, she had used up way more lipids then she should've in the last two rounds. The continuous supply of fuel for the Jetpack and then the tranq darts were too much for what she had stored up.

They were about to take a turn towards the cafeteria when they heard a faint exclaim coming from behind them, it sounded something like-

"MEL...SSA MY B..BY!"

The blonde's eye widened as she realised to whom that voice belonged to.

"Dad?"

The fact that her friends were unfazed by her reaction, she got the gist that they were somewhat involved with the planning of this event. She glared at them when the said brunette came into view, behind him however a husky self of the Symbol of Peace stumbled while trying to catch up to him.

"Slow down David! Parents aren't allowed yet! Please at least be quiet about it!"

The greenette gave a warm smile to his friend and whispered. "We'll give you guys some privacy." He supported the exhausted ravenette as she put her arms around his shoulders. "Come on Momo, let's get some food in you."

"Y-Yeah that'd be nice." The 'Creation' user spoke almost as if she were drunk.

The blonde was in too much of a shock that she remained silent as her friends filed out and made their way to the cafeteria.

In the cafeteria

"That was nice, are you going to tell her that you were the one who dragged Shield-san into coming here despite him being busy with the preparations for I-Expo?" The ravenette spoke as she sat beside the greenette with their meals.

"Nah, I don't know why I should. He's here and that's all that matters right? To be honest I think he just needed a little nudge."

Momo graciously took a giant bite of her dumplings which Izuku thought wasn't possible but just shrugged, the 'Creation' user burped a little which was trapped in her handkerchief and began. "You know she likes you right?

"Looks like you got your new stash of novels?"

"Yes! I wish I could create 'written' books... and don't dodge the question!"

The weather maniac sighed. "I know she does, I-I just don't know w-why."

Before she could ask the oblivious idiot what he meant, a certain hetero-chormatic teen approached their table and gathered both of their attention.

"Midoriya."

The greenette was somewhat glad that the guy came at just the right time, but he didn't like the hatred he could see in the boy's eyes. He swallowed his own bite of pork and replied. "Yes Todoroki?"

"Can we talk." The sentence was a question but from the way he said it, he wasn't asking.

"We can talk here, in front of… witnesses." He snickered the last part to himself and the girl beside him.

"Chandler, Friends", Momo whispered thus commencing their newfound love and hobbie to quote and find trivial references in uncomfortable situations.

"I prefer if we'd have some privacy." The boy stated flatly.

Izuku wanted to just shut the teen out but he knew better than to not let that hatred bottle up and the mere fact that Todoroki wanted to talk could mean that he might be seeking help. So he let go of his comic charade and spoke in all seriousness.

"I am right behind you." He assured while bidding a short 'bye' to his friend and taking his half eaten bowl of Katsudon with him.

With that the two teens left the cafeteria.

'I wonder what he wanted.' The ravenette thought as she saw the two boys disappearing in the halls.

"Hey, mind if I join you?" The 'Chart' user sat down in the vacant chair before her after receiving a nod from the table's last occupant.

"P-Papa?"

David hugged his daughter with all his might, he had missed her dearly in the last couple of months. The man didn't regret the fact that he had put his whole I-Expo plans on hold, not one bit, just seeing his daughter right in front of him was all he could ask for. In hindsight, it could be confused when Melissa and Toshinori decided to come to Japan for her education, he went along with it whole-heartedly but the dark circles under his eyes, the long sleepless nights crying endlessly and severely reduced appetite begged to differ.

But, that didn't amount anything to the happiness he saw in his child's face, her gleaming smile he would witness throughout the years by video calls, short visits or just knowing that Melissa would one day achieve her goal.

The brunette inventor would be lying if he never wished that his daughter would just stay with him, attend a school in America and come home every afternoon, or to be honest not be a hero altogether. He had seen in person what a person with All Might's level of caliber and responsibility would have to face and he couldn't let her baby daughter go through that much pain.

No matter how old she'll be or if she even became the next Symbol of Peace, Melissa would always be his innocent baby daughter.

He tried his hardest to not let the dams break when he finally hugged her but it seems that ship had sailed just as he heard the word.

The girl had also let go of her tear ducts and let them rain. "I-I am so glad to s-see you." She sniffed in his shoulder while holding him tightly.

"Me too Pumpkin."

With that nickname said, the blonde girl broke down, she cried her heart out as her father did the same.

Toshinori could only witness the moment in silence and let the father-daughter duo meet and greet. 'Why does this side of him remind me of somebody?'

After a while the two of them gathered their composure and shifted to a conveniently placed couch attached to a wall near them.

"I thought all flights were cancelled today, due to some villain rampaging near the airports." The blonde asked as she sipped a glass of water that UncleMight had graciously offered both of them.

David chuckled lightly. "I-uhh, I actually flew in last night. Your friends wanted me to surprise you. Were you?"

The girl adjusted her glasses and perked up a smile. "Y-Yeah, completely stunned!"

Melissa's face fell when she understood what this could mean for her father's plans ahead. "What about things at I-Island? I thought you were quite busy for the Expo."

The brunette genius brushed it off. "It's fine, with a couple of more hands at the lab I could still deliver the demonstration on time." As if on cue, his phone buzzed. "Speaking of, Sam sends his regards."

"Sam didn't come?"

"He did, but for different reasons, he is collecting people to help us out for the Expo, there were some really interesting people we found for the last years, so he's rummaging through universities and labs to see if anyone would be interested to join a 2-month paid internships."

Before she could ask further on what exactly was Sam looking for, her father decided to acknowledge Toshinori's presence with a question. "Toshi, she would be allowed to visit the Expo right?"

The No. 1 hero smirked. "Of course, in fact the winner of the Sports Festival will be getting passes for the same! Besides, I am allowed to bring anyone, right?"

David faux-glared at his friend. "So what are you saying, Melissa can't win this?"

The husky Symbol held his hands in defence. "She will! I was just asking for her friends. I assume she'd want them with her, right?"

The blonde wiped a tear and nodded with full determination in her eyes, while the brunette snickered. "Right answer. And yes you are allowed to bring anyone with a valid passport and a clean record with you."

After a couple of light-hearted conversations about how the ninth user of One for All doing and some teasing about a certain greenette, Melissa bid her father goodbye for the time-being and departed to the cafeteria to have some food before the final round of the festival.

"I am so proud of her Toshi." David admitted as he saw his daughter disappear in the distance.

"Yes, but why didn't you tell her that you are leaving in two days?"

The older Shield sat back down and sniffed. "The same reason I was hesitant to come here in the first place…. I won- can't go back, at least not until her internships start, which I believe Sohariko-san will be conducting?"

While the No. 1 hero was glad that he'll get to spend much more time with his friend, he paled when he heard the name of his former teacher and the friend of his master. "Oh, crap!"

"Don't tell me you haven't told him that 'you know what' is with Melissa now"

"I-uhh, Uhhhh."

"Oh, Toshi you're in for a world of pain!" David chuckled as he remembered numerous stories about the ruthless old man.

"So what do you want to talk about?"

They had reached an abandoned hallway super far from the cafeteria when Todoroki finally turned towards the greenette and spoke coldly. "To be honest, I didn't really want to talk to you."

Izuku was surprised by his arrogance but let it go for the time being. "That's flattering."

"I wanted to speak to Shield, but she is currently occupied."

Izuku didn't like where this was going, he just stood silently and took a bite of his meal.

"Which brings me to the following question, was Shield's mother related to All Might?

"What do you mean?"

"I mean is Shield, All Might's biological niece?"

The greenette internally sighed in relief. "What makes you think of that."

"Her appearance, not to mention her quirk seems awfully overwhelming as All Might. I know that David Shield and him were partners, so I thought Shield's mother might be his sister."

Izuku lightly chuckled. "No, she's just an honorary niece to him. But what does it matter to you?"

The heterochromatic teen glared down at the other occupant of the hallway. "You know my father is Endeavor."

The way Todoroki spat his father's hero name portrayed that the teen wasn't bragging about it, so he kept silent and listened intently.

"The second greatest of all time-" Todoroki was about to continue but was interrupted midway by the greenette.

"Only in Japan, my friend."

Shoto kept his intimidating posture and continued. "So, if she is connected to that guy and you obviously have the whole U.A staff on your fingers-" He was again cut off.

"As I said, Aizawa-sensei is my FATHER." 'The best fucking hero ever to walk on god's green earth!' He cheered internally.

"All the more reason for me to crush both of you."

Izuku took a last glance at the boy in front of him, he commented "Alright, see ya on the field!" and began to go for the exit when he felt a cold hand on his shoulder.

"I am not done." After seeing the greenette settle back on the wall, he continued. "You made me break my oath."

"What oath?"

The heterochromatic teen held his left hand in front of his face and answered. "When in battle, I never use my left side."

Izuku's eyes widened, the reason he had never seen the bi-colored boy use his fire. And there was that hatred again, before he could ask why so, the 'perfect creation' continued. "In the obstacle course, I had to use it in order to free myself from my own ice and just now in the heat of the moment I was about to go all out with my fire just before Bakugo's smokescreen."

"Isn't that part of your quirk counteracting the other? The left cancels the right's overuse and vice-versa?" Weather-boy tilted his head to the right in confusion.

"Tell me Midoriya, ever heard of quirk marriages?"

Izuku paled as he listened to the horrors behind the teen's past and what the No. 2 hero's intentions were with his child or the 'masterpiece'.

"So, you see. Not using my left side against Shield will be my revenge on him. Never using my rotten father's quirk… no, by rising to the top without using it… I'll have denied him everything" The cold teen took a moment and then started walking towards the field. "If you don't want to tell me the details on the relation between her and All Might, that's fine. Either way, I'll rise above both of you with just my right side, sorry for wasting your time."

Shoto was leaving a dumbfounded greenette when the said boy spoke up. "You are making a declaration of war to the wrong person Todoroki, with me you've already made clear before the festival could even begin, but might I give you a piece of advice... don't underestimate her."

Izuku turned around and began walking towards the cafeteria, he stopped mid-way to see the heterochromatic teen still standing in the hallway. "And just so you know, it's really one. You're not a dual quirk user, I know because… I know." He pressed on the last words while activating scanning and walked away with yellow glowing eyes which felt like they were staring right into the 'Half and Half' user's soul.

"AND THE BREAK IS OVER!" Present Mic's voice throughout the stadium, indicating that the third round would begin shortly.

Izuku and the rest of his class walked up to the viewing section reserved for 1-A, they only had to wait for 10 minutes before Cementoss finished building a concrete field in the middle of the colosseum. Once that had been finished Midnight walked back out with mic in hand to announce the next round.

"Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the final round of U.A. Sports Festival!" She paused allowing the crowd to roar.

"Now the finals will be a 1v1 style tournament between our finalists which are listed here." She dramatically pointed at the enormous screen beside her. "Our contestants will be fighting a series of battles, and obviously lethal attacks are not allowed, breaking of such rules will result in disqualification. You can win in 3 ways: make the opponent give up, ringout, or by knocking them unconscious." A bracketed tournament appeared as she finished her explanation.

Melissa Shield vs Setsuna Tokage

Shoto Todoroki vs Tenya Iida

Momo Yaoyorozu vs Mina Ashido

Kashiko Sekigai vs Romero Fujimi

Inasa Yoarashi vs Mei Hatsume

Katsuki Bakugo vs Eijiro Kirishima

Hitoshi Shinso vs Shiozaki Ibara

Izuku Midoriya vs Yui Kodai

The entirety of 1-B turned their attention towards the quiet girl, they had seen in-person of what the kid was capable of and this could possibly be the worst possible matchup for the dark haired teen. The said girl kept her mysterious persona and just hummed, leaving the students dumbfounded.

Kirishima saw his matchup and instantly fist-bumped the ash-blonde standing beside him, they were possibly the only one there who were showing such sportsmanship towards their rivals.

Melissa was indifferent about her's, she was pumped up to win this tournament, she'll fulfill her promise and afterwards maybe confess to the oblivious idiot. As she searched for her opponent, the blonde saw a dark green haired girl with a toothy grin staring right at her, the ninth gave her a subtle nod and was surprised to receive a wink from the lizard girl.

Shinsou was beaming for fact he had been matched up against someone not in his class, this was just perfect; they would fall for his quirk easily. However, he was worried about the fact that he might have to fight against Midoriya and he was not looking forward to that battle.

Todoroki glanced at the 'engine' user standing beside him, the heterochromatic teen smirked after he realised that once he beat Iida, which was no biggie. Shoto would get to fight Shield and fulfill his ambitions at least some of it. He would beat All Might's heir by just using his mother's side and finally prove that he has nothing to do with Endeavor's quirk.

'It's just one quirk…' He remembered the words of a certain greenette.

Sekigai and Fujimi took one glance at each other and scoffed, the greenette and a certain 'copy' user noticed this and decided to make a note of it to ask about it later.

Midnight chimed back in after letting the fighters read the board. "Will the first contestants head to their waiting rooms, we will be beginning in 15 minutes."

As the students began filing out of the field a maniac inventor was seen dragging the 'Wind user' into the hallway.

Melissa Shield vs Setsuna Tokage

The field was ready and battle was about to begin, the blue-eyed blonde was happy that a certain greenette had come alongside her for the path towards the field.

"You got it Melissa, I know you do!"

The said girl deeply breathed in and exhaled out, she had been trying to calm herself but from the rumors she'll be going to fight one of the best participants from 1-B. Not to mention, she learned that the girl is Midnight-sensei's niece, which wasn't helping.

"I know, t-thanks for coming here, with me..."

"Are you kidding, I'll be even more of a nervous wreck and when my time comes, I want you there too." Izuku snickered in an attempt to loosen the tension between them.

They reached the exit and that's when Izuku gave her a warm hug and walked back to the viewing area.

Melissa looked over at the field, seeing the aforementioned teacher and Cementoss-sensei waiting for the announcements to happen... and then they did.

"ARE YOU ALL READY! YAYYYYYYY! IN ONE CORNER WE HAVE THE SHARP TOOTHED SASSY LIZARD OF 1-B! SETSUNA TOKAGE!"

As Mic finished the dark greenette made her way onto the field with a next level of confidence, the sister class went wild with cheers.

"VERSUS, THE ONE OF THE POWER DUO, WINNER OF OBSTACLE COURSE AND RUNNER UP OF CAVALRY, THE BLUE-EYED POWER HOUSE OF 1-A! MELISSA SHIELD!"

Melissa walked onto the field, the 'creation' user had informed her that Tokage's quirk was similar to that of a Lizard's tail, she could dissociate her body parts and regenerate them.

'I could use that.' The blonde smirked under her breath and waited for the battle to begin.

"Good luck you two!" Nemuri cheered from outside the ring.

"BEGIN!"

The greenette instantly activated her quirk and got divided into somewhat 15 pieces of herself, each individual appendage was floating too which could be bad news for the ninth user.

Melissa fired up her quirk to 8% and charged directly towards her face which was levitating right in front of her. As if on cue she felt something get a hold of her ankle, she saw Tokage's hands trying to make her fall, she shook it off and directed her attention towards the head piece.

"It seems Tokage's strategy is to drain Shield of her stamina because she's outmatched in brute force. She's frustrating her into making rash decisions." Shouta commented.

The blonde knew this was happening and that's why she needed to end this now, whereas it seemed that the greenette had changed her strategy as all of the body parts got blasted towards Melissa, while her head remained afloat above the ground.

"LOOKS LIKE TOKAGE IS IN IT TO WIN! MELISSA IS BEING DRAGGED TOWARDS THE ELIMINATION LINE!"

That's when Setsuna's hands grabbed Melissa's shoulders and were pulling her towards the end, the said girl gave a quick burst of 10% and grabbed her foot.

'Maybe this'll work?' She thought and dived with the said foot towards the white line and forcefully touched it on the ground while being pulled in by the other body parts.

"SHIELD HAS TOUCHED TOKAGE'S FOOT OUTSIDE THE LINE. DOES THAT COUNT AS A WIN MIDNIGHT"

The R-rated heroine deliberated a bit as the fight was paused and both the occupants stood before each other, one still in multiple parts.

"I will allow it!"

"YOU HEARD IT FOLKS! MELISSA SHIELD ADVANCES!"

The crowd roared at her victory while she shook hands with her ex-opponent.

"Nice play Shield, I hope we can be friends someday, you got game."

"Yeah me too!"

Setsuna turned around, smirked and gave one final remark before disappearing into the distant hallway. "Plus with you, I'll get to hang out with that white-haired cutie."

The blonde stood there dumbfounded and slightly blushing.

"Next battle will be commencing soon, can the next contestants get to their waiting rooms."

Shoto was walking towards the field when he encountered the No. 2 hero, he gave him a cold glare and didn't stop walking.

"What do you want." The words of utter hatred came from the heterochromatic teen.

"You disgrace me Shoto." Endeavor growled while leaning his back on a wall.

"You could've crushed both the obstacle course and the cavalry battle, if you'd just use your left side. Grow up and stop being a stubborn child, your duty is to pass All Might, remember?"

Shot stopped in his tracks as hatred continued to grow inside of him.

The man continued his banter. "You are different from the others, you're my greatest creation."

The heterochromatic teen scowled. "That's all you have to say to me, you bastard!?"

The boy waited a bit and heard his father stand without the support of the bowl, and he continued walking. "I'll win only with Mom's-", he was about to say 'quirk' but stopped mid-way. "I'll never use your side."

"That might work while you're still at school, but you'll reach your limit soon."

Before Endeavor could press further Shoto was out in the field already.

None of them noticed the shadow of a certain burnt up teen disappearing behind the hallways.
