Keep her safe
...
...
All Ana wanted right now was to go home, take a shower and jump into bed. She was beyond exhausted, but no matter what she said, that gray-eyed man refused.
"Why are you doing this? I have to go home, right now!" she exclaimed, her blue eyes locked onto his.
From her seat, Ana was glaring at him mercilessly but he didn't seem to care. "You are still in danger, Miss Steele. For now you can not go home." she heard him say with a toneless voice." It's not safe."
She huffed aloud, and looked out the car window. There was no point in arguing with that... that big bully! Argh!
"Where are we heading then? We've been on the road for five and a half hours now." she asked, her face turned away from him.
"I'm taking you somewhere where you'll be safe... for now." he replied, and grabbed his phone from his pocket to call someone.
As a sigh escaped her pink lips, Ana's eyes fell shut. 'Why is this happening?' was what went through her head at that moment.
"OK, Miss Steele and I will take the next car, and drive to that location." the gray-eyed man said, and then finished the phone call.
"Can you please tell me what's going on, mister?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly. "Why is this happening? What did I ever do to piss off those bad guys?"
In response, he looked her straight in the eyes." I'm sorry, but I'm following orders, Miss. When the time is right, they will tell you everything, OK?"
Ana shook her head in response. "Why aren't we going to the Police? They can help, right? They can protect me?!"
He was about to reply, but then changed his mind, and swallowed his words instead.
"Answer me" she demanded, while glaring at him.
All of a sudden, the car came into a halt. In one swift motion, the man jumped out the SUV, and opened the door on her side." Let's go, Miss."
At that moment, Ana's anger rose inside her, burning in the bowels of her stomach." No!" she huffed, and gave him a venomous look." And stop calling me Miss! My name is ANA, OK? And also stop ordering me around, and treating me like a child!"
In response, he gave her a stern look." Well if you act like one. I will treat you like one." he remarked, and placed his large hands on her waist an hoisted her swiftly out the SUV.
"You can go back, Red." he said to the driver, so the other man drove away leaving the two of th em behind in the middle of nowhere.
There Ana stood, flabbergasted at how that bully just picked her up like she weight nothing... nothing at all! 'How dare he touch me!' she thought. That did not just happen.
"Well, I'm not going anywhere with you, OK? Asshole..." Ana said, while clenching her hands into fists. She was seething!
"Don't act so stubbornly, Mis... I mean, Ana... It's cold, and it will get even colder. You're not even wearing a jacket." he said, the tone of his voice annoyed.
"Well, if you brought me home so I could've at least thrown in some clothes in a bag, I would not be cold at the moment!" she pointed out, her teeth clattering loudly.
When he noticed that, his gray eyes softened, no longer seemed annoyed at her. He closed the gap between them, and took off of his brown leather jacket." Here, wear this."
Ana despised it, when people ordered her around." Don't need it" she said stubbornly, while shivering all over.
"Please... take it." he insisted." We just saved your life, I cannot let you freeze to death now. Can I? The others will have my head if that would happen."
She huffed, and glared at the man. However, she decided to accept it. Cause at this point it was FREEZING! "Fine. Only because you said please, and cause you didn't call me Miss..."
He nodded, and replied." My name is Christian Grey."
"Good to know, because in my head I was calling you 'big bully'."
At hearing that, he locked eyes with her, a twinkle appearing in those gray orbs. "Let's get out of here... they left a car for us..."
Ana nodded in agreement.

The ride to where ever they were headed now, was a peaceful one. She stopped asking her companion questions... for now. Ana was exhausted, and a few times almost fell asleep but refused to do so. She wanted to know where Grey was taking her. It was strange that she didn't fear him as much.
Not so long ago, when they were in her lab, she was really afraid of him. But that fear evaporated without any explanation. As Ana shook that thought off, she was reminded that no one knew where she was. Not her colleagues, her staff at home, nor the board of her company. Oh my; they will be searching for her. Especially if they discovered her destroyed lab with those bodies in it. Those dead bodies... She didn't know how many employees of her those bad guys had murdered. Why is it that death always followed her?
While she thought about those dead security guards, other horrifying images of years ago appeared in her conscious mind. It was like it happened just yesterday... Ana clearly saw the scene again before her; only red... her white dress soaked in her father's blood.
"Daddy." was the word that tumbled from her pink lips.
"Excuse me?" she heard her companion say.
At that, Ana shook her head and looked at Christian." N- nothing. I wasn't talking to you."
"OK." he furrowed his brows, and yet decided to let it go.
At that moment, Ana was fighting back the tears, and with all her might managed to swallow the huge lump that had formed in her throat.
She never talked about her father with anybody except her therapist.
"Yup, we've reached our destination, Mis... erhh, I mean Ana..." he corrected himself, when he saw her deadly glare.
As the house came into view, Ana observed her surroundings. It was a normal-sized house made of red bricks. When the SUV came into a halt, she slowly stepped out the car. She immediately shivered, missing the warmth of the car.
"Come on." Christian said." Let me get you out of the cold."
"OK." was the only thing she said, and followed him inside the house. She SHOULD distrust the man... that was what her head told her. However, her instincts told her otherwise...

At the moment, Ana was inside the bathroom. Christian was in the living room, attempting to get the fireplace to work. As she stared into her reflection in the mirror, Ana broke down and cried. For seven long years, she hadn't shed a tear, no matter what she had to go through. Even during the many sessions with her therapist, Ana controlled her emotions and never faltered. The day after she had lost her father, she swore to never ever be soft again. She felt like she had used up all of her tears on the day her father died- And yet, here she was, sobbing like a little girl in front of the bathroom mirror in a strange house in the middle of nowhere... with that big bully!
Why was this happening?
'What did they want from me?' she thought.
"Miss Steele? Are you OK?" she heard a voice say from the other side of the bathroom door.
It was Grey... the bully; she hadn't realized that she had been that loud. In response, Ana leaned onto the door and said. "I'm fine, Grey..."
"Are you sure?" she heard him say. He didn't seem convinced.
Ana nodded- even though she knew that he couldn't see her." Yes, I'm sure."
"OK, if you say so." he replied, and continued. "You go freshen up; I'm gonna see what I can find in the kitchen to cook."
"Sure, you do that." Christian heard her say.

As she wiped away the tears from her eyes, Ana decided to suck it up. She took off his brown leather jacket, and placed it gently on the counter. Within minutes she stepped inside the bathtub. As the warm water enveloped her cold body, she let out a deep breath." Oh, God." she mumbled. The warm water felt amazing! As her eyes fell shut, she took in the wonderful feeling.
'Yes... this feels so good...' she thought.
Ana then lightly massaged the sides of her head, and it was so relaxing that her mind drifted off to a time when her father was still alive...
.

In the kitchen, Christian had whipped up something for them to eat. He was starving at the moment, and assumed Ana was too. After he turned off the stove, he grabbed the pot and placed it on the table. There were a bunch of bottled water in the fridge, so he grabbed a pair and placed it near the plates. Just as he was about to take a swig from one of the bottles, his phone rang. It was Taylor.
"Hey, how is she holding up?" he asked.
"Erhh... She's doing OK, despite the situation she's in." Christian replied.
"That's good, you have to keep her there for a couple of days."
Christian sighed into the phone." OK, but she's asking me a lot of questions, Taylor. I cannot keep dodging them. What can I tell her? Should I tell her everything?"
"No! Not everything." his friend replied.
"Can you be more specific?!" Christian said into the phone. He was clearly annoyed by the whole situation.
In response, Taylor told him exactly what he could tell her and what not to.
"OK, fine... Later." Christian replied, not exactly pleased that he was about to omit some things, when answering Ana's burning questions.
"Grey, keep her safe. OK?"
"I will... I'll guard her with my life..."
"You do know how important she is, right?" Taylor added.
"Yes, I know, Taylor! She is very important, that's why they were after her. I know that." Christian replied, and then ended the conversation.

At the moment, Christian was waiting for Ana at the dining table. His stomach was growling violently; he was famished.
" What is she doing?" he muttered under his breath, and walked up the stairs. As he stood in front of the bathroom door, he knocked on it.
"Miss Steele? Are you OK in there?"
He waited, but didn't receive an answer from the young woman. As he listened closely, he furrowed his brows.
" What the... ?" he said, and knocked harder.
When she didn't react to the loud pounding on the door, Christian broke it down with one swift kick. As he stepped inside, he saw her in the tub completely submerged in the water.
"Oh, no. Ana!" he shouted, and grabbed her roughly by the arms.
THIS WASN'T HAPPENING! She's too important... 'I cannot lose her!' he thought, while his heart rammed hard against his chest from fear.
Christian was absolutely terrified! He had one job... keep her alive!
The next moment, he saw Ana's head move, and then her eyes were locked onto his." WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" he heard her shout, her eyes venomous.
OH SHIT... he thought that she was drowning, but that wasn't the case.
"Explain yourself, now!"
