A huge crowd has gathered outside the entrance to SIP. Building security has managed to keep everything under control so far. Apart from a barrage of camera flashes and inane questions from reporters, we reach the lobby safely and head up to my floor first.
Sophia is standing close to the lift when the door opens and she gasps before rushing over with congratulations.
"Mrs Grey, Mr Grey, congratulations, I am so happy for you, I love your dress, oh please can I see your ring?" I dutifully hold my hand up and she gasps again
"That is so beautiful" she coos
"It has been in Mr Grey's family for many years and will for many years to come" I say smiling up at Christian.
Christian releases my arm and walks over to Taylor who has just come back into the room leaving me with Sophia and some other ladies who have come over.
"Congratulations"
"Beautiful"
"Stunning"
"We have got you a gift Mrs Grey, well it's for the babies as we didn't know absolutely if you were getting married" Sophia admits.
"That's ok, it was short notice and for obvious reasons we kept it quiet" I say smiling.
A huge box is put in front of me wrapped in neutral paper with teddy bears on it.
"Wow! Thank you all so much. Shall we open it now?" I ask and a yes filters around from everyone.
"Mr Grey?" I call and indicate for him to join us.
"Our first baby gift; lets open together" I say. The paper comes off and reveals two bouncer chairs with music, toys and various levels of vibrations to help with sleep.
"These are wonderful" I say excitedly.
"Thank you very much ladies" Christian says "That's very kind of you"
"Our pleasure Mr and Mrs Grey" says Sophia "I hate to do this today but I have a few bits to talk to you about Mrs Grey if that's ok?"
"Of course Sophia, let's go to in to my office so I can sit down" I say showing her my feet are protesting at being stood on any longer in these shoes.
I indicate to Christian where I am going and he nods in acknowledgement.
"Sorry to drag you away but I need some signatures on these" handing me two contacts "and I need to know what you think of these or would you prefer I waited and asked William on Monday?"
"William?" I ask puzzled.
"Your temporary replacement" she looks worried.
"Yes of course, I remember now" I smile and her tension is relieved "I will look at them now and thank you Sophia, for being a great help to me over the last few months, I don't think I could have done this without you"
"Thank you Miss Stee…err Mrs Grey, I have really enjoyed helping out more" she smiles again.
"It will take me a while to get used to my change of name too" I laugh.
Sophia leaves me to review the documents. I am nearly finished when my husband walks into my office.
"Mrs Grey, working on your wedding day, tsk tsk" he mock scolds me.
"Mr Grey, I have finished now" I say signing the last page "I am all yours now"
"You always have been Mrs Grey" he sweeps me out of the chair and gently kisses my lips before allowing his hands to wander down my back, gently caressing my curves.
"Mr Grey, I can tell you are pleased I have finished with my work" as his erection pushes into my thigh.
"Well we do need to consummate our marriage" he growls "but not here; we have more people to see before we go to my parents"
He adjusts himself before we leave my office and we walk out hand in hand. I give the papers back to Sophia and tell her I can be contacted with any major problems with existing clients of mine but anything new I would hope my replacement will be able to handle.
"Goodbye, Mrs Grey and look forward to hearing from you soon" Sophia says, we hug each other and we head to the elevator saying my goodbyes as we go.
"Are you ok baby?" Christian asks.
"Feel a little emotional" I say smiling "It's been a big day"
"Yes it has and we have a relaxing weekend ahead of us" he says "Resting and enjoying a weekend with no interruptions-quality time"
"Hmm I am looking forward to that and to getting my poor feet out of these shoes" I complain.
"Ah, wait here baby" as we exit the elevator he rushes off leaving me alone and open mouthed.
He comes back in a moment or two and he has a shop bag in his hand, he sits me down on a chair, pulls my wedding shoes off one at a time and gently massages my toes and feet. I am transported to heaven instantly, I am disappointed when he stops a few moments later but he slips on some ballet pumps on to each foot. They feel soft and exactly what my throbbing toes need, they are the right colour and encrusted with very small and delicate crystals.
"Where did you get these from?" I ask in amazement.
"Well I knew your feet would get sore so I asked Kate to buy a pair that matched the colour of your dress without me finding out any secrets about what you were going to wear" he confesses.
"I love you" I say planting a kiss on his forehead.
"Love you too baby" he returns "Are you ready to carry on?"
I flex my toes inside the shoes, smile at the lack of pinching and nod.
Christian opens the main door to his office area, as his floor is mainly male dominated, the welcome is a lot calmer and dare I say less enthusiastic. Lots of hand shaking and stiff congratulations. I greet Gloria; Christian's PA who is the most enthusiastic of them all, she presents me with a bouquet of flowers and a gift for the babies. A lovely set of cot bedding, blankets and two outfits for each baby.
"Thank you everyone, you are all so very kind" I extoll.
Kevin Levinson comes over to congratulate us but to steal Christian away for a few moments and I can hardy complain as I did the same thing not long before so I stay and chat to the 3 female staff in his department. Gloria brings me over a cup of tea.
"Thank you so much, I hadn't realised I was so thirsty" I gratefully sip.
"You must be looking forward to resting up before the babies arrive? I remember when I was pregnant, I was so glad to finish work and have a couple of weeks to relax before life changes forever" Gloria says.
"I am to an extent but I don't want to get bored" I say.
"Believe me; you will check your bag and the babies bag several times as well as their closet, supplies, how many nappies you have" she continues "so although you are not at work, you will still find things to do to keep you busy"
"So it sounds like I will still be busy then?" I laugh.
"Yep" she laughs too.
I check my watch, Christian has been gone for almost an hour, we need to get on the road soon otherwise we will hit some serious Friday traffic on the way to Grey Manor. I am also getting hungry again.
"Do you know how much longer Mr Grey is going to be?" I ask Gloria.
"I will find out for you Mrs Grey" she turns and walks towards the office returning moments later
"Mr Grey sends his apologies, he will be another half an hour" she tells me.
"Is the canteen open? I am getting a little peckish" I ask.
"I will send out for a sandwich for you, what would you like?" Gloria offers.
"No, that's too much hassle…" I begin but she cuts me off mid-sentence.
"Grilled chicken and salad pitta no mayo I understand?" she says "and a cup of tea"
I smile "That would be lovely, Thank you"
Gloria makes a call and about ten minutes later a sandwich and tea appear for me. I am in the middle of devouring it when Christian comes out of the office. He smiles when he sees me eating again…
"Hungry?" he chuckles as I nod with a mouthful of sandwich "I shouldn't be too much longer but I can see you have been able to occupy yourself in my absence" smiling again.
"This is a good sandwich" I emphasise, grinning widely "and very much appreciated" I add.
Taylor appears from the elevator, he looks concerned and my stomach immediately turns as I know when Taylor looks concerned, something is going on.
"Mr and Mrs Grey, can I speak to you privately?" and Christian ushers us into the nearest empty office.
"Just to keep you up to speed sir, I have called on SPD to come help control the press and a few well-wishers that have gathered too, they have erected some barricades to hold them back but we will take the back entrance out to the car" Taylor breathes.
"Thank you Taylor, I am nearly finished here but keep me appraised of the situation" Christian seems calm but I can see I vein throbbing on his forehead.
Taylor leaves and I see him answer his cell as he walks toward the elevator.
"Ok baby?" Christian pushes a strand of hair away from my face.
"I'm good" I say with more confidence than I feel "Hurry though" I want to get out of here and start our weekend away.
"I will pumpkin, and don't go anywhere will you?" he says and winks, I wave him away with my hand.
I absent mindedly flick through some magazines in the waiting area in front of Gloria's desk. I wish I had brought a change of clothes with me now but in fairness I didn't think we would be so long here, at least my feet are comfortable.
The door opens and Christian exits, shaking a man's hand, saying goodbye and heading toward me smiling.
"Right baby, let's get out of here" he puts his hand out to help me up and we walk arm in arm to the elevator saying our goodbyes as we go. Taylor meets us as the elevator arrives and we go down to the lobby.
I see a mass of people, building security, Christian's security team and four SPD cars and officers. The volume becomes deafening as they see us exit the elevator, camera's flash, questions are being shouted at us but the noise being at that level we can neither hear or reply to them anyway.
Taylor, Sawyer and Peters escort us toward the back exit; a commotion stops us in our tracks. Sawyer and Peters rush forward to help building security prevent someone entering, I can't hear who it is but they are shouting and determined to get past.
"Shit, is that Jack Hyde?" Christian curses
"Yes sir it is" Taylor answers.
"Let's go" Christian indicates
"No choice but out the front Mr Grey"
Taylor indicates to Sawyer to come back to us and leave the other security personnel to deal with Jack Hyde.
"SPD are stationed out the front, in place Mr Grey" indicates Sawyer
Christian firmly wraps his arm around my shoulders, kisses my forehead and guides me forwards. The noise becomes deafening the closer to the doors we get and I am temporarily blinded by the constant flashing of the cameras.
Sawyer and Taylor are ahead and slightly to the sides to go through the double doors first. The police officers are holding back the masses and the barricades are doing their job well. I feel totally out of my depth, it has never been like this before; so many people wanting to get a photo or a comment from Christian or myself. I think have been really naive to believe the interest we have had before was mad but this is almost hysterical.
I hear Taylor talking constantly to Sawyer over the noise but even they are finding communicating with each other difficult. The car is waiting, door open ready for us to jump in but….
Pop, Pop, Pop, I feel a warm fluid hit and start running down my face, I put my hand up to wipe it away when I realize it has all gone wrong.
