"So lemme get this straight… You want us to kick your ass, and in return I get to meet Surge Soldier?"
"Not exactly what I said, but close enough."
"I think she's finally snapped, all those years of being quirkless and she's gone crazy…"
"That or she's some kind of hardcore masochist now, disgusting…"
It was the start of the weekend, and with that I decided to make good on my desire to learn the ins and outs of my alien forms. There was a problem though. I knew my family weren't going to make serious attempts to do damage to me, and none of my friends had Quirks that were that good, or even offensive, so I decided to seek out people that would be fine with trying to kick my ass. Akeru's bullies.
"Look, I dunno what the hell you're on about, but trying to buy me off by takin' me to your dad won't change anything between us." the first girl huffed, "Even if your dad's one of my favorite heroes, you're just a quirkless nobody!"
She had fair skin with an athletic form, her muscles were defined, definitely having worked out for them, which made sense due to her Quirk. Her short, blonde hair had a pattern of orange at the top of her head resembling a six-pointed star. Her eyes were like onyx, black but shiny. She wore a white shirt, an orange jacket with a black collar and sleeves, her jeans seemed almost black, and her boots looked like they were leather, they almost looked like steel toes…
"Seriously, you get some kind of death wish? Usually you cried when you got picked on, hell's with that blank expression?" the second girl sneered, pointing at me with her right hand as her index finger began to glow as if burning, ashes starting to drift off it, "Plus this just sounds sketchy, hell do you want us to beat you up for? Tryin' to tape us and get us in trouble? Make us look bad?"
She possessed tanned skin, though she looked more like a typical girl in this setting when talking about physique. Her short, black hair possessed a mix of red and orange highlights that complimented her Quirk, it was also swept more to the left. Her eyes were a bright, orange color that really stuck out. Her gray top had a vector of Endeavor's flame mask and beard, advertising her fandom rather openly. Her shorts were black like charcoal. Black leg warmers seemed strapped to her legs, it was hard to tell if she was wearing black shoes or boots underneath since they blend together pretty well.
"She's been weirder than normal since her dad bought her that watch, think the money's getting to her head?" the third girl asked.
Her skin was a pale white, but she looked roughed up, her skin having a bit of scarring here and there. Her black hair turned brown about halfway down, the length of her hair was to her collar, and it was pretty messy, though she had a pair of tufts that were styled, with silver hair clips, to imitate wolf ears. Her emerald eyes looked a little wild. She wore a black hoodie, a black, studded collar, some similar wristbands, her dark, navy jeans looked a bit on the tight side, and her black boots had a similar set of studded bands based on her collar.
Alright, to elaborate, these girls are Tsuji Panchi, Narisawa Kazan, and Sone Izuko. Panchi was the leader of this little group, sort of like their Bakugou, and has been aggressive since birth, sometimes hitting things as a pure reflex, which must be why she was named 'Panchi', which was basically just a way to describe the action of punching things. Kazan has been her stooge and second in command for a while now, one of the few people the girl hadn't scared off with her short temper. Inuko was a more recent addition to the group and was basically just their lapdog, wanting on their good side as to not be on their bad side.
Panchi had a Quirk that let her increase the speed and power of her punches, which naturally scales with how strong they are without it, hence why she worked out. Kazan has a Quirk that lets her generate and control ash from her fingers, though it doesn't seem like it stays hot for very long, not that it matters if she's poking you while it's active, like someone putting out a cigarette on your skin. Inuko could grow wolf heads from her back with enhanced senses and bites, it was weird considering they could have just given her enhanced wolf traits, but Dustukhia must've liked the idea of the Quirk simply for the pun in its name. Back Pack.
I wasn't too sure where to go from here, I didn't particularly like any of them, partially thanks to Akeru's memories, partially because most people wouldn't like people like them.
"First off, my dad didn't buy this thing, it's not a watch." I stated, holding up my left hand, pointing the faceplate at them, "Second off, whether I'm Quirkless anymore is up for debate, because this is my power."
Instead of giving them the chance to question it, which I knew was coming from the skeptic looks and jeers, I decided to engage the Omnitrix, searching my playlist before transforming into Frauminate. As they recovered from the light, I could only smirk at the shocked looks on their faces.
"Wh-What the hell!?"
"Th-This is some kind of joke, right!?"
Panchi was shockingly the only one that didn't say anything, wide-eyed as she recoiled. The other two had backed up, looking nervous, like they were expecting some kind of retribution.
Shaking my head, I shrugged, "Honestly, I transformed right in front of them and they still don't get it…" pointing at them, I did my best to smile so they didn't think there was any bad blood boiling, "My power is to transform into like twelve different things, figuring out their powers isn't that hard, but I need to figure out their weaknesses. It's hard to convince someone that sees you as a friend to try and attack you, so I figured you three would be perfect to help test out my durability. Interested?"
"Fine! I'll kick your ass no matter what form you take!" Panchi exclaimed, raising her fists in a challenging manner as she glared at me.
"Wh-What? Pan, why're you all fired up!?" the ashen girl stammered, "A-Ain't this weird to you?"
"I don't give a damn! Power or not she's still a loser until I see otherwise!"
"B-But this doesn't make any sense!"
"Then don't come, I'll meet Surge Soldier by myself!" their leader waved off their concern and confusion, "No weird transformation's gonna beat my fists! I'm gonna break you in half!"
"Wh-Whoa, so this is the kind of place a hero trains in…" Inuko muttered, looking around the training room.
"I-I still don't like this…" Kazan huffed, glaring at her friend.
Panchi looked around excitedly, even if she wasn't smiling, I could tell from the fact she practically had stars in her eyes, "H-Hey geek, your dad wouldn't mind if I used his punching bags, r-right?" she stammered as she looked to me.
A tad weirded out, I shrugged, "I mean, I told them I was bringing some friends over, so I guess they wouldn't mind… Even if I kinda lied."
"I think my skin just squirmed…" Kazan shuddered, stepping away from me.
Looking around, I was at a loss… Pan was more excited about my father's training equipment, Kazan still hated me simply because she was a typical bully character, and Inuko honestly didn't seem that useful for these tests to begin with since she didn't have any way to damage me other them her dogs biting me, and if I needed to test my resistance to physical damage I already had her boss for that.
"So… you can transform…?" Inuko asked, approaching me, "H-How did you even get a power like that? A-Are you just some freak from an experiment or a freak in general?"
Shrugging off the insult, I scrolled through my playlist, "Beats me, I came home, passed out, and it was just there when I woke up."
"You must be lying, stuff like that doesn't just happen out of nowhere, this ain't some comic book." Kazan glared, not having any of it, "You really think we're just gonna buy that you're some kinda late bloomer or something?"
"I'm not expecting anything from you, kinda like usual."
"!?" wincing, she stepped back, "Wh-What, you getting some kind of ego now?"
Frowning, I looked back to the Omnitrix, "Hey, Kazan, how hot can those ashes of yours get? Since your boss is busy I figured you might be helpful for the first test."
"...I dunno, pretty hot I guess…" she must have realized that she couldn't get to me anymore, sounding a mix of confused and defeated, "What's to stop me from leavin' instead of helping you out? I never wanted to help you to begin with."
"Are you saying that because I wronged you in some way, or because I was that loser that Panchi was beating up, and you just hate me for the sake of it?" I shot back, "I honestly don't get it, other than being Quirkless, what is it that makes you resent me so much?"
Going silent, she crossed her arms and backed off, looking away. I guess I put her in her place.
Sighing, I quickly realized my plan had some holes in it. Them not liking me didn't mean anything if they weren't going to cooperate.
Looking through my playlist, Inuko watched over my shoulder, curious. It made sense, she was hardly part of their group as it is, so she didn't have a reason to be as nasty as them, "So what do they even do…?"
"Beats me, I haven't used them all yet."
"Why the hell'd you wanna get us to kick your ass if you haven't used them all?"
...Actually, she had a point.
"I dunno… Dad pointed out that I was looking into the strengths and not weaknesses, and I guess I stopped thinking about everything else." I muttered, "To be honest, I'm not sure it's even worth it to have you guys help since you just have fire and strength, that doesn't tell me if I work well in the cold or getting struck by lightning…"
That seemed to get a smirk out of the ash-user, "So you're both a freak and an idiot?"
"I'm trying, Kazan." I muttered flatly, shaking my head, "Well, until Panchi's done fangirling, wanna see these other forms? We're not friends but I figure it doesn't matter since I'm trying to be a hero anyway, so this stuff's just going to become public knowledge."
Earning a shrug from the dog girl, I had her back off as I looked through my playlist, eventually finding the other alien I had been curious about. Selecting it, I immediately noticed Kazan looking at me in a disgusted manner, "You look… more ridiculous than normal…"
"What's that supposed to mean?" my voice seemed almost nasally again, but with the slightest reverb, making me believe this must have been something like Dimondhead again.
"You look like a gorilla made of legos…"
My eyes went wide at the earnesty in her voice, looking down I had not only discovered I was standing on my knuckles, I had realized that she was pretty much dead on. My hands were red, and the back of them even had the circular pads used to connect lego bricks… My feet were nonexistent, ending in flat points. I seemed to be made primarily of red and yellow parts, some blue mixed in a bit more scarcely.
"I… Why…?" I muttered, honestly not feeling this. Who knows, maybe this alien would grow on me, but for now I wasn't quite a fan.
"Beats me, lets see if you melt like a lego too."
Without warning Kazan had approached, her fingers heating up before she grabbed my shoulder. It hurt like hell naturally, so I shook her off, "The hell!?"
"Ain't this what you asked for?" she grunted, "Besides, you look fine to me."
Oddly enough, she was right, I didn't look melted, charred, or anything. Brushing myself off, I could only grumble a bit.
"You're making a lot of obnoxious noises, and I'm not just talking about your voice."
"I'll agree with you just this once… It almost sounds like I'm made of a bunch of tiny blocks, and moving rattles them…" Muttering to myself, I raised my hand and concentrated. Eventually I could even sort of feel it, it was like I was made of tons of smaller parts… Was this thing synthetic? Was it like Diamondhead or Prismbreak, being something natural and made of things that weren't usually the base of a lifeform? And why the hell was it made of legos? Was I supposed to believe there were more of these things on some planet?
Internal ranting aside, I tried my best to get over my questions and complaints. If I knew anything it was that all the different aliens were amazing in their own way, I just had to figure out their abilities… Except maybe that small, fat one my mom picked, but I doubted my Benefactor would give me two useless aliens.
"Alright, how do you work…?" I muttered to myself, assuming that this feeling may lead to this one's power, similar to that feeling I got as Aqua Jet or the plant alien from the other night.
Focusing seemed to help as I watched my hand change slightly, putting together that I was some kind of construct, I tried to influence my parts to change, finding my arm morphing to gain a shield, but it was more than that, there was no way I was just reforming or that would take mass from somewhere else, I had to be making more of these blocks through some weird, shapeshifter regeneration!
"The hell'd you do that?" Inuko blinked as she backed off, eyes widening, "I thought you said you didn't know what this one was?"
"I didn't, but I sorta do now… It's like I'm some weird shape shifting playset." pausing, I scratched my chin, "...That would be a good name for this one, Playset…"
"Lame, but go on…" Kazan didn't seem like she was keeping up very well, still not liking I had multiple forms it seemed.
"Alright, Inuko, try hitting me however you do it!" I challenged the girl as I raised the shield, "Hopefully this form's stronger than it looks."
"D-Don't order me around!" she barked as she leaned forwards a bit, a growl audible as three canine heads sprouted from her back. Try as she might, her bites weren't really breaking this, I could still feel them but they weren't a serious threat to me.
Then she decided to bite the edges and yank it, since it hurt like hell I tried to get rid of her, subconsciously that seemed to break my connection to the shield as I stopped feeling the pain of her bites and it simply popped off, sending her flat on her face due to the force of her tugging.
After a bit more testing and running out my time limit I was recording what I learned. Apparently Playset could use this shapeshifting pretty freely, and parts of her could even pop off, she seemed to have some regeneration and was pretty durable… All around that alien was actually pretty good in spite of its appearance, but I would have to put that durability to the test against Panchi later.
"So they all have that time limit?"
"Yup?"
"And your strongest form lasts as long as your weakest form…?"
"Uh huh."
"...Your power is bullshit." Inuko grunted, looking annoyed. Honestly I wasn't too bothered, she seemed genuinely curious, "It almost sounds like one of those crazy superhero stories, like the ones where there are powers beyond Quirks."
Kazan gave her a funny look, sweatdropping, "You're a geek too, huh?"
Gasping, Inuko must have realized her mask slipped as she started trying to deflect and win back Kazan's old view of her.
Shaking my head, I looked back to my recharged Omnitrix, "Four left… I'm getting kind of excited to figure out what else I have…!""
Now, this might have been a good time to mention there were two aliens near the start of my playlist that I had basically been ignoring… The third and fourth aliens on the list exactly, the third I ignored because it looked sort of like a stingray fused with a pterodactyl based on the silhouette, and I wasn't exactly eager to try swimming out yet. The fourth I ignored because it had seemed fairly plain and simple, having a form that almost reminded me of Cannonbolt, but with what I assumed were large eyebrows… The last two were at the bottom of the playlist, the tenth and twelfth actually. The tenth one looked familiar, having a hunched over, inhuman look, the twelfth… I didn't really know how to describe the silhouette other than it had pigtails…
Deciding to skip the third yet again, I transformed into the fourth option. I could tell I turned slightly taller and felt my build expand, I could almost feel a change in my skin too, similar to some of the past forms I used.
Looking down, I saw that I was a stocky, metallic alien, or I assume so given how shiny my green skin was. This form seemed pretty muscled, possessing little to indicate it was female, and some darker green segments seemed to bulge out further. This alien also seemed to have two fingers and a set of thumbs, as well as only two toes. My white top was replaced with a white, shiny suit, black lines and a belt helping add some detail.
"Hell am I now?"
"You look like some kind of metal frog person…"
"Metal huh… maybe I have super strength?" I muttered, already expecting it from most species. But as I entered the room with dad's training equipment and attempted to lift one of his dumbbells, I quickly figured out I couldn't lift much more than I usually could, "Or not."
"Damage testing!" Inuko exclaimed as I suddenly felt a bite on my arm, it hurt about as much as it did as Playset, and just like her there was no physical damage left behind.
"Ghk! I-I appreciate the help, but give me a heads up next time!"
"Oh yeah, how's this feel?"
As Kazan put her finger to my body, I actually felt nothing. Seeming annoyed, her finger glowed brighter as a plume of burning ashes erupted around it, but surprisingly I still felt nothing.
"Alright, so I'm fireproof apparently… I wonder how much." watching as Kazan walked off, I looked back to my hands, trying to figure out what else this one could possibly do. It seemed to have some similarities to Cannonbolt, but as I tried to roll it wasn't really that effective, I tried to jump… This one just seemed kind of average, despite the frog similarities I couldn't even extend my tongue, "Man… don't tell me the only good thing about this one is resisting fire."
Inuko hummed, having watched all this while Kazan snickered, "Come on, you've got too much as it is, it's not like you need to be any stronger." however, as she slapped me in the back, we all had a miniature freakout as I started glowing… Suddenly I was shorter, I also felt kind of heavier as my feet sank into the matting more, "Wh-What the hell?"
Looking at Inuko and Kazan's shocked expressions, I confirmed I was indeed shorter, and following their gaze I soon realized why they were shocked and joined them, stepping back, "Y-You're-"
"-Me!"
There was a copy of me, pointing back at me with a similarly shocked look as we tried to come to grips with whatever happened.
"It's like when Inu slapped me, I split into someone else!"
"We're heavier too, look at the mat, I know we weren't putting that much weight on it!"
Running to the training room again, we quickly discovered my strength seemed to have increased as I lifted the dumbbell effortlessly this time. Experimenting, the other me slapped herself, it didn't work until she struck herself on the back, causing her to split into two smaller, heavier selves again!
"Oh god they're multiplying!" Kazan exclaimed in faux horror, "Watch it, if you break something you're going to get all of us in trouble!"
She wasn't wrong, if I kept dividing like this I might get heavy enough to leave a lasting impact in this room. But there was something I had to test, "Hey other me's, I'm gonna punch one of you, tell me if you feel it." I warned them.
"Wait wha-" before she could finish I had jabbed her in the shoulder, it hurt a lot on my end, but she didn't actually seem hurt as much as she just staggered back a bit, "That kinda hurt, not that much though. Your turn!"
"H-Huh?"
Her punch knocked me into the air and hurt quite a bit actually, and because I landed on my back, I split again, there now four of us equal in size.
"H-Hey! What's the big idea!?" the recent split blurted, "That was a cheap shot and you know it!"
"No cheaper than yours, you didn't even give me time to brace for it!"
"Wasn't the whole point of this to test how much we can take? W-Why are you getting worked up with each other?"
"Oh god they're quadruple the dumbass…" Kazan muttered, looking unamused, "Stop fighting yourself before you split up again!"
Inuko watched with shock and intrigue, "Wait, so if they're fighting, it's not her in multiple bodies, but more like she's cloning and each one is herself?"
"I don't care how this works, I'm not about to have Surge Soldier mad at me over her dumbass copy power!"
"P-Pan!?"
Before any of us could react, Panchi had drove her fists into the sides of the two squabbling versions of me, her knuckles looking a little red as they yelped in pain, her punches apparently able to hurt me quite a bit, even like this. And even stranger, as she had punched us together, the two versions of me forcibly recombined in a bright green light, causing the third, larger me a moment of confusion as she rubbed her head, "D-Did someone g-get the number of that bus…?"
Gasping at the revelation, I and the other remaining small me tried to hit each other, then run into each other, but it didn't seem to work that way, "Huh. So apparently we have to be slammed together with a lot of power to be forced back to a weaker size."
Panchi actually seemed kind of curious now, looking down on me, "It's like you're dense or somethin'..."
"Come again?"
"Like you're heavier, harder, stronger and junk, it's like you're more compact." she huffed, prodding my back. It didn't seem to make me split so she tried to pat it, eventually resorting to a slap, which seemed to cause the split again, "Guess it takes a bit to make you split up…"
The smallest of my two selves looked each other over, nodding, "Yeah but it wouldn't make sense if we had to be forced back together."
"Then again, it's not like we tried to go back to normal."
"Alright, me. Let's try it!"
Locking our hands together, it took a bit of doing but eventually wanting to join together again let us fused back to our previous size, then the three different versions of myself decided to repeat the process, returning to normal. Honestly, it was easier than I thought it would be.
"Huh, now that I listen to it, my voice isn't just all robot sounding, it gets higher pitched the smaller I get…"
"That's your takeaway from all this!?" Kazan recoiled, seeming unimpressed.
"Bet that one's actually pretty strong… You could throw yourself around like some kind of cannon ball probably, not like you aren't heavy enough." Panchi grunted, "Hell, without dividing you look pretty heavy, you could probably sit on someone and keep'em from going anywhere… If you were fast enough you might be able to do some kinda combos…"
Everyone else in the room seemed surprised as Pan started muttering to herself, "U-Uh… Pan? A-Are you actually giving her advice?"
"Not that I don't want it, but don't you hate me?" I had to ask, just as confused as her friends.
The girl glared, "Shut it, I'm thinking."
Leaning back, my eyes widened a bit as she continued rambling on like some kind of fusion of Midoriya and Bakugou, having not seen or expected this side of what I thought was just a one-dimensional brute.
Looking at her hands, I noticed her knuckles were still pretty red from punching my copies together, "Uh, is your hand going to be alright?"
"If I'm bein' honest, I think you're the hardest thing I've punched before." she muttered, her train of thought interrupted as she looked at her hands, noticing they were trembling a bit, "...Alright, I got it, I'll help you, but don't get it twisted, we aren't friends or anything."
"I mean duh, but why are you wanting to help now?"
"Because you're helpin' me with the exact same thing." blinking, I tilted my head, "I'll see how hard it is to beat down your forms, and you'll use all your weird powers on me so I figure out how I can beat people with those powers with my fists."
...Oh god, I'm making a monster.
