It was a couple of weeks since they got the scepter from Hydra's lair. So far they have heard nothing that could be about Thanos or Infinity stones related. Even while going through other planets, they couldn't find out anything more than Thanos and the Chitari were at Xandar and already stole the Infinity stone that the Gaurdians of the Galaxy turned in a month ago. To both of their surprise, they not only found out that there are now superheros in outer space. But found out how effecticent that Thanos already is.
Not only that they still haven't heard anything from Scarlet witch and Quicksilver. It's names that Darcy came up for the two because they didn't get their names the first and last time that they met. Not too mention when she tries to call Jane, she then discovered that Thor already left to rejoin the Avengers and fortunately Jane was able to pass them a message because Thor gave her the Avengers tower main phone number before he left. So Darcy was able to explain as much as she could possibly can without even revealing anykind of secret to her. But the look of things it also looks like that they might have to move as well. Since Jane told Darcy on the phone they are going back to the U.S for another important research and probley also to be close to Thor. Since from over the phone it sounds like he is still upset about what happened back in the Dark world and she wants to be there for him. That immediately made both Darcy and Loki feel really guilty for keeping Loki being on Earth and alive a secret. The fact that they both know that Thor is now living a lie and they can't tell him the truth. Due to the fact that Thanos might use Thor in order to get to Loki or for any information. Plus not to mention they don't know what would happen if to Loki if Thor does find out. Since not only things would become more tense between the two Asgardian brothers, but if Thor tells anyone then word would spread to the point that they might come after Loki and try to arrest him right on the spot. If only things were easier that everyone could do whatever could make all of them happy. But it may never happen in the way that they would want it to be and they are still trying to get over that.
It was an uneventful day, there seem to finally be some of the peace and quiet that Loki hoped for ever since he started his new life and he seems to be enjoying his time off. As for Darcy, she's having trouble trying to find a new apartment that is not only affordable and comfortable because unlike before she now has two mouths to feed, stay close to Jane whenever she needs her to do something but not too close that either Thor or her would discover that not only Loki is alive, but they are now on the haunt for trying to get all the Infinity stone and protecting them from Thanos. But the ones that are now scattered around the universe has already been found by either them or Thanos. Now they have to get the other stones, but the million dollar question is how are they going to do it and where in the universe is Thanos? While they were trying to figure out how they are going to do it? For the moment Loki was trying to examine the Infinity Stones and then maybe just maybe he'll be able to keep them a lot safer without blowing up everything. Meanwhile Darcy is trying to improve her fighting skills in case she might need to fight and might be ablw to help Loki better than just be the comic relief and could get the ability to put up a fight with the Chitari or anyone that might stand in their way. But still it was a normal day in their household and it seems to be really uneventful, it doesn't stop the two from being prepared for anything that may come there way.
"Well it's kinda wired that we haven't gotten another sign on where the other Infinity stones may be. I guess they might be lost or something." said Darcy trying to start a conversation with Loki. "I mean no one tried to take over the world like you did the last time you had these stones or we heard anything crazy like that."
"If they are nowhere to be seen then they may be with Thanos and he's probley looking for the ones we already obtained already." said Loki "Before you can have a chance to say anything, we are not going to break into Thanos's lair to grab those stones. Since not only it's a suicide mission, but we're not ready to face Thanos and if we do it right now then it will leave disasterous results."
"But we still have to try right? Once I master my fighting skills then maybe we can go over and get the Infinity stones and get out alive." said Darcy "I mean if we sneak in and then grab the stones. We could just sneak out without anyone ever knowing that we were there in the first place like how we were at Asgard."
"That wouldn't be that time at Asgard because unlike that time. It will also have guards who are ready to do anything in their power to make sure that the stones remain in Thanos's hands and make sure that we are both dead in the end of it all." said Loki "In order to do a mission like that we need to have a team or an army backing us up without any of the two of us ever getting hurt in anyway."
"So are we going to have to call the Avengers or something?" asked Darcy immediately "Maybe they are willing to help us defeat Thanos or at least grab the gauntlet and the Infinity stones. Along with gaurding them from Thanos and anyone who might be working for him." That immediately got Loki's attention and he immediately panicked at the very idea that his secret could get exposed the very moment if they do so.
"Darcy you do know that I would never agree to an idea like that and at this rate I'm surprised that you haven't suggested to reveal myself to the public by now." said Loki immediately annoyed at the very idea.
"Well for your current situation, I would never suggest that you just go outside and reveal yourself to everyone. That is unless we both want you to go to jail that is." said Darcy "But since we're now friends and you are also the one that know everything that is going on besides me. Then we all don't really have that much of an alternative on that. Plus I don't think anyone would want to voluntarilly go to jail like that or would want to face six angry superheroes. Along with one of them happens to be your brother."
"You don't need to remind me on that." said Loki a little annoyed at Darcy for that moment "I really do not need a reminder on one of the biggest mistakes that I have ever made in my entire life. Now can we focus on our current mission on finding the Infinty stones before Thanos does and protect the ones we already have obtained without mentioning any of my past offenses to this planet? Since I don't need a constant reminder of my own past every single times that it may be really conveint for you to mention." For some reason that didn't really surprise Darcy that Loki feels this way about his first visit to Earth. Since his actions kinda got Loki in this current situation and now have to live with the fact that he's now probley doing the last thing that he may have wanted. But someone going to need to stop Thanos before he tries to animate the whole universe with all six Infinity stone. Along with the fact that they are also the only ones that know the plan Thanos has with the stones. Darcy is going to personally make sure that Loki is going to save the world from Thanos and to make a hero out of him. Even if it was going to wind up driving them both insane from dealing with their different opinions of the subject.
But before anyone of them could continue on with the conversation or try to make it a little less awkward than it needs to be. Darcy figures that it might be best to change the subject before it gets even more awkward. Along with maybe take a break from mentioning what happened back in New York. Since for Loki's sake and sanity then it might be best to not mention it unless she wants to make Loki really annoyed and upset to the point that he won't be Mysto or try to help save the world anymore. Plus it could also help that they know eachother a little better rather than what they already know about each other. But both of their past are too dark and personal to be sharing like that soon or at all. Plus it might be best if they drop it right now before it becomes an argument that they probley wouldn't have at the moment.
"Why don't we watch some tv while we wait for something to happen and lazy around for the rest of the day?" suggested Darcy "I mean it is better than going down memory lane and we probley did enough training and preparing for the next big alien invasion. What do you say? We could watch a movie or try to see if there is something good." Loki immediately was surprised by the offer and didn't know if it was a good idea whether to do what she says.
"Are you sure that it's wise for us to drop everything and stare at a screen for the rest of the day? Even when you know that we have a big problem on our hands that you have been a insistent on stopping for a while." said Loki "I also fail to see the purpose of this activity and why would we voluntarily do something that clearly has no purpose."
"Well I fail to see how you don't want a break and don't see watching tv as one of the most relaxing thing that anyone could do in their spare time." responded Darcy immdiatly afterwards "Trust me you'll probably going to thank me later when you find that you're having fun after all." With that Darcy picked up the remote and turned on the tv. But unfortunately for Loki, he wasn't going to get a break just yet. Since from the very moment that Darcy turns on the tv, it was turned onto the news and it seems to be having a special breaking news report. Before the of them could do anything or even bother to change the channel, it winds up to show the entire story. Once it does, it then immiediatly caught both of them by surprise and attention.
"There seems to be a strange situation, when it comes to a normal beautiful day at Richmond park. Probley it's because that out of nowhere there seems to be these strange flying robots appearing out of nowhere and they recently just began to terrorize these people and seems to have no intention on stopping." With that it began to show footage of the robots flying around attacking people as hard as they can. It doesn't look like they aren't going to stop to take a break any time soon and probley going to keep at it until everyone at the scene either dies or they all magically somehow break down. But before Darcy could say anything or try to convince Loki to run over there and try to save everyone. Loki immediately took a hold of the conversation and began it in an annoyed tone.
"You were just going to propose that I put on my Mysto costume and then later on go over to that park and risk my life in order to save others and to fight off all of those evil robots that are terrorizing people as we speak." said Loki already completely annoyed at what might happen next and what he might have to do already.
"Yeah you've guessed it correctly, so are you going or not?" said Darcy immediately "I'll be sure to have some popcorn ready for you once you get back and probley be watching a good movie." Loki was going to object and argue that there was no way that he was going to go out in public dressed up as a costumed superhero from one of her comics. But once he was about to do so, he just gave a sigh and realize that there was no point in arguing because Darcy will not only be adament on what she wants. But when it comes to the idea on him becoming a superhero, Darcy seems to be really adamant on it and wins every argument they ever had so far. Plus he still haven't forgotten the threat that Darcy have made about kicking him out into the street if he doesn't agree to play Mysto. So with that he used his magic to transform his current look into his Mysto costume with his mask on and began to head out of the apartment. As he was beginning to head out of the apartment, he hears Darcy calling out after him.
"Well it's about time that you embraced your new superhero life!" said Darcy excitedly "Good luck!" It immediately made Loki annoyed and turned back to her.
"I am not embracing this foolish ideas of super heroism." called back Loki "I just agreed to do this in order to avoid another pointless argument, I will see you once I get back. Hopefully I'll be alright in one piece once I do so." With that he left the apartment and head over to the park.
Forty Minutes later
After having some trouble finding the park, Loki finally made it and once he arrived then he was immediately surprised at the destruction the robots were causing. Since even though he did wrek a city, he didn't expect a bunch of over advanced machines to be causing this much destruction less than a day. After a quick look at them Loki realize that these robots don't have any form of marking that they came from Thanos. Plus the only form of technolgy that Thanos ever used was a ship and whatever spare parts to replace one of Nebula's body parts that Thanos cuts off every single time that he believes that she's either not good enough or lost a battle from her supposebly adoptive sister. But no matter where these robots may came from, he knew that he has to stop them or else he'll be sleeping outside tonight.
With that Loki ran over there and began to beat up all of the robots that he could possibly can and seem to be doing a good job so far. Since most of them were either getting destroyed or maunfunctioning on the spot. It was being an easy win that Loki might as well call it day in an hour or two. But soon it might fortunatly take only a couple of minutes to defeat the mysterious robots. Since out of nowhere to Loki's surprise, a huge bolt of lightning appeared and hit most of the robots that Loki was already fighting off. Then out of nowhere even more of them began to drop to the ground in an instant. Then out of nowhere a random guy began to throw something around and punching the robots on their heads. Despite getting this unknown and surprising help, Loki decided that he'll investigate it later because he still has an army of robots to defeat. Eventually the two of them manages to defeat all of the robots in maybe less then twenty minutes. After having all of them defeated then Loki decided that it might be best to find out who his mysterous helper is or as Darcy might have call it his faithful sidekick.
"Who are you and why did you helped me?" demanded Loki aggressively and already getting ready to defend himself in case it is a trap. Since Loki couldn't see what was in the smoke with the exception of the hidden figured and he did not know what he may be in for. From the moment he dared to ask that question, it was the moment where the guy in the thick smoke began to approach Loki.
"I just figured that you may have needed help that's all." said the figure hidden in the smoke. "I have made a vow to protect this planet and you are no exception. I should be asking why were you fighting these treacherous machinery alone in the first place?" As he was saying that he was slowly emerging out of the shadows. As he came out, Loki immediately recognized the long blond haired man right in front of him and he was the last person that he would have thought that he would have a conversation again the moment after his supposed "death".
"Thor?!" said Loki immediately afterwards and already really surprised. Along with now wondering on how is he going to get out of this one? Since he now has to keep the act and fight whatever conflicting feelings and desires that he has deep inside right now. Especially now that the fate of the world is at stake and it would become even more dangerous if Loki reveals himself and drags Thor into this. But for now, Loki is going to do what he believes that might be best for both of them... By creating an illusion...
