A couple of days later, the two of them were hard at work trying to figure out where the robots may possibly be heading and what are they planning to do with the scepter. Especially due to the fact that it has a powerful gem that could mind control in any universe with the exception of Iron man of course. But that was just due to his arc reactor. They've been watching the news, reviewing all of the evidence and taking whatever thing that Thor told Loki about the robot and his droid army. So far they still haven't found any leads that could help them solve the case or at least heard of any big robot invasion terrorizing humans that are making big headlines or the Avengers were involved in stopping in any way. But then again they can't expect a villain ready to attack every single day, for once Loki was happy that his past had a colorful history for the last few years. Since now at least they now have an advantage and can use it to find the scepter. But unfortunatly Darcy now has a longer bill to pay that it probley would take her a lifetime to pay it all up. The landlord was not happy to see the damages that was created in Darcy's apartment and he was charging her for all of the damages. It was a either pay up the damages within a week or move out situation, what worse is that they now have to speed up the apartment search while they are trying to retrieve the Infinity stone before it causes any more trouble on Earth or make any more damage that hurts everyone rather than helps them. But Darcy was anything but happy with all of these new problems that she has to deal with. In fact she has half the mind to head over to the phone on the table, dial to her landlord and yell at him and tell I'm to back off. She even had to call in sick for the rest of the week, so that way she could find them a new apartment and help Loki figure out where they may have taken the Infinity stone. Luckily Jane gave her more time off and that Loki is a pretty good detective. Then otherwise she was not going to be happy or even kept her sanity a minuete longer than she could even hold it in.
"Can you believe that guy? He expects me to pay up all of the damages those theives made while they were stealing the scepter and it wasn't even our own fault." said Darcy really exasperatedly "If it were up to him then he would condemn us for life and send us to jail for messing up an apartment that we didn't even trashed. I honestly can't wait for us to move out and find a better apartment. Heck you are even lucky that you never had to deal with cranky landlords who probably is ready to increase your rent if something ever happens and he finds a good excuse."
"Well I honestly don't see the point of you paying someone to have a roof over your head every single mouth. Especially if they are as horrible as you made them sound." Said Loki surprise that living on Earth isn't as it sounds and knew that if he ever returned to Asgard and if Thor and Odin ever find out about him and let him stay there as long as he needs too. Then he's never going to complain about living in the palace without any worry about doing anything to gerentee of staying there ever again.
"Finally someone who agrees with me about that's exactly what I said. But no the guy just laughed at my face and still increase the rent to cover damage control to repair a destroyed room that we didn't even have anything to do with it." Said Darcy really annoyed "When we get that scepter back, I have half the mind of using it to get him to see what most of us have to go through and make sure that he goes a lot more easily on people." That immediately caught Loki by surprise and he now feels like that he should clarify something's before his negative intentions rubs off on her.
"The scepter does not work like that and even after we manage to retrieve it then it might be best not to use it for anything except keeping the stone away from Thanos. Since if you try to use the scepter then it would cause the victim to obey your every command and loose concousness of their true selves and we'll have a bigger problem at hand and trying to break the spell without giving him a serious head injury."
"Good point and plus from judging what happened to Erik, things didn't go well." Said Darcy "It kinda wind up trending everywhere and people are not letting him live it down. Let's just say that it even led him to now temporarily retire and live a quiet life away from the press." That immediately got Loki interested and now that he thought about it, he never saw the consequences of his actions the last time he was on Earth or thought whether or not any of his victims were ok afterwards. He didn't need to be a doctor to know if Hawkeye was alright because of the fact that he did help defeat him in the battle of New York. But he never did find out what happened to anyone else that was either mind controlled by him or got hurt in anyway.
"What ever did happened to that man?" asked Loki "From the way you describe it, you make it sound that he's suffering after I took over his mind or something." That gave Darcy the cue not to tell Loki what happened because either way it might not end well for anyone even if she did tell him. So it might be best that Loki doesn't know for everyone's sake.
"You really don't want to know." said Darcy immediately hoping that Loki would desmise it. But unfortunately that only increased Loki's curiosity and got him even more interested.
"But I would like to know what happend to him." said Loki almost immiediatly and could tell that it probley didn't end well for Erik. He also felt like that he needs to know how bad his victems turned out afterwards despite having an entire destroyed city to repair.
"I really don't want to tell you because even you might not want to hear it." said Darcy "Since it was preety bad in fact it was even on the news afterwards and Erik still can't live it down without everyone making somekind of joke or rude comment on social media. But anyway let's try to focus on trying to get the sceptar back before we find ourselves in a fate of the world is on our shoulders situation." Loki felt like that there was more to the story and he should know what happend. But felt like it might be best if he doesn't ask and it doesn't take a great detective to figure out that something went wrong that was preety bad.
"Maybe you are right and we need to figure out the task at hand rather than focus on a random stranger and his fate." Said Loki immiediatly "I was thinking that maybe if we use your technology then maybe we could track these robots to wherever their location may be. That way it would be easier for us to find them without going on an endless search that we'll eventually wind up back where we have started."
"Well it is a good idea, but there's only one problem. We need somekind of tracking device on them and some kind of app, device or computer for us to even track them with and even if we did set a device one of them could always find it and destroy it or lead us on a wild goose chase." said Darcy "But we can try to see where they are going to strike next by watching the news and hope for a miracle." With that in a blink of an eye, some red energy force blew the door right down then the next thing that they knew was there seem to be something speedying right at them and began to speed through the room until he finnally stopped and then the girl walked right behind him. The both of them stared in shock of the two familiar figures in the room, they were both surprise at the fact that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were right in the aprtment as of right now. In fact, Darcy didn't even mind that now she has a broken door to worry about if she doesn't move out soon. Loki was too focus on wondering how could they possibly know about their location to even worry about his identity and possible reveal. Now he's queitly hoping that the two of them didn't see the news of his last visit to Earth before moving to the planet for a permanent stay. The two of them stared at both of them and was surprised to see both Quicksilver and Scarlett witch standing right in front of them and they didn't know what to say towards the two. But fortunatly they took over the situation.
"We really need your help," said Scarlet Witch almost immiediatly as she came into the apartment. Both of them may not know why the two were there, but they have the feeling that they were all going to have a long conversation for a while.
30 minutes later
Darcy manages to make sure that the two of them got themselves comfortable and ask for their names so that way she'll have something else to call them other than her proposed superhero names. But she even manages to suggest it to them despite Loki's annoyance of it and ask them what happen that they so despretly need their help. So both Wanda and Peitro explained on how they teamed up with Ultron and how they inevertly help created something that was far worse and dangerous than Ultron. Along with all of the damage they created due to their vendatta against Stark. After hearing the entire story, both Loki and Darcy were not impressed with what they just heard and how they even manages to wind up working for Ultron and helped him suceed this far and in a way told him of the sceptar and it's possible whearabouts.
"Do you two have any idea on all of the damage that you could have done and might still if that machine gets it's way?!" said Loki in a mix of frustration and anger. He knew that he should worry about how to retrieve the sceptar from Ultron as they call it and trying to figure out what to do with identity because now he's now exposed. Since he was not in his Mysto costume and was more worried about that scepter being in the wrong hands again. Well fortunately Nether of the two said anything and he could spend the moment focusing on the scepter. He also figured that he should worry about all of that later and should focus on making sure that there will be a later. "If that sceptar lands in the wrong hands then it's extremly dangerous to not only this planet but everywhere else in this entire universe."
"Yeah he's right, what you guys did was not cool and it's a miracle that no one got hurt yet." said Darcy agreeing with her roommate "What were you guys thinking joining with a monstrosity like that?" At that moment, Darcy realized that she probably went too far because of the reaction from both Peitro and Wanda. Now she knows that Loki is going to give her the whole "you are being too hard on them." speech. But to her surprise, Loki was not having it and seems ready to give a peice of his mind on the two of them.
"You both have put everyone including yourselves in serious danger. All for a stupid petty reason of going after Stark for whatever happend between him and yourselves in the first place." said Loki angrilly trying his best not to loose his temper.
"We did it to try get the revenge that we felt like we needed to have. Since our parents died in his hands due his weaponary." explained Wanda "We felt like that's the path we need to go on in order to give us the justice that we deserve. We didn't really have a choice and thought by gaining these powers could help us gain that."
"So bassically you turned yourselves to human lab rats for you're little quest for revenge?" asked Darcy in annoyance "When did that even happend in the first place? Was it before or after he became a superhero?"
"It was two years before he made that suit of iron and from that moment we vowed to make sure that he paid for what he has done." explained Wanda "From the very moment that the Avengers got started because of him. We vowed to try to take down Stark and anyone that may be associated with him." That made the two of them even more displeased about the two's actions and they did not even know what to say without saying something that they would later regret. Though Darcy doesn't even know if she should be grateful or frustrated the moment that Loki decided to take over the situation. Since from knowing her roommate well, she knows that no one should want to deal with Loki and his temper. But at the same time, she figures that Loki may be able to talk some senses into them especailly because he has exspirence when it comes to revenge and now knows the consequences of going down that path and what happens when you go too focused and determined to get revenge that you loose sight on what's really important.
"You two do know that you just made our mission so much harder to even obtain our goals. Since not only we have to worry about retrieving the sceptar, but now we also have to worry about to retrieve it, defeat the technology and try to undo any damage that machine may have done with it." said Loki full of anger and frustration "Now it's thanks to both of you, our goal to stop a possible dangerous threat is now even more in jeopardy of failing because you let a dangerous piece of machinery take a hold of it. It's all for what? Something that happened between between you two and Stark a couple of years ago that he probley doesn't even know about or probley already forgotten about and moved on!" Darcy couldn't blame her roommate for being angry, she was angry at the twins too. But she feels like that it might be best if she try to ease down Loki's temper before he does something he might later regret, look at what happened with Thor and Asgard. It doesn't really help that his temper and his past mistakes was the reason why it got him in this mess in the first place. So she must be the buffer between them before Loki either does something that he would later regret or they wind up ruining whatever relationship they may share with the twins and could loose whatever help they may give them now.
"Why don't we try to keep the yelling and the shouting to a mimimum right now before we say or do something that we later regret?" suggested Darcy nervously "Why don't we just sit down and talk this over like four rational human beings who now need to worry about trying to grab the scepter from an army of evil robots."
"We have every right to be angry and to yell at them with every single thing that we may have to say even if it is may be harsh in any way! Everyone has a reason why to be angry at others because they have hurt them, it does not give you the excuse to hurt anyone unless you want to get hurt yourself. I have learned that lesson the hard way myself and it appears that you have too." With that it made the two of them felt even worse about their actions and Darcy figured that it might be best if she takes over the situation.
"Ok I think we pretty much rubbed it in enough and we should focus on trying to figure out what to do next before we all have bigger fish to fry." interjected Darcy "So do you guys have any idea on where this Ultron is going to strike next?"
"He told us that he will be going back Sokovia with his new machenical body and the scepter and currently at Seoul right now." Said Wanda feeling a little more confident that they could trust them.
"Did he say when he's transporting his new machine and the scepter?" Asked Loki stilll a little annoyed by the twins and the fact that they were the reason why both Darcy and himself are now have to go on a wild goose chase and retrieve the scepter before Ultron does anymore damage.
"He said that he's going to move them as early as tomorrow." Said Pietro "After seeing what the Avengers are capable of and he's now ready for anything that they may throw at them with an even bigger army. He will stop at nothing until he destroys all of humanity."
"Well then we better stop him before he even gets anywhere outside the country. If we hurry then we could meet him up the main highway and stop him on the spot." said Darcy already grabbing her backpack and began to pack some necessities of her now unplanned short notice business trip. "Then that way we can stop him and finish the job before the Avengers find that scepter and do something with it that will be hard to even try to fix it."
"If we're going to do anything then we're going to have to bring those two along. Since they are the only ones who know where this Ultron is." said Loki as he used his powers to put on his Mysto suit and mask. "But right now we have to deal with the fact that our visitors know my identity and now the potential-"
"It's ok, you don't have to worry about it Loki." said Wanda comfortly surprising both Darcy and Loki that she knew Loki's name and was immediately accepting. "When you were rescuing us and taking the scepter. I looked into both into your's and your friend's mind to see if we could trust both of you. After you two rescued us and took the scepter from Hydra's headquarters and after seeing what you two are doing and who you are we decided to keep it a secret. Even though no one would believe us if we told them anything and it would also repay the favor."
That immediately caught both of them by surprise and they did not expect that she would have any form of mind reading abilities and it did save them from an awkward explanation and trying to figure out how to convince them to keep it a secret. Even though Loki is still a little angry that they gave the scepter to a dangerous evil robot and now he plans to use it for another dangerous piece of technology and to use both of them to wipe out the planet. Loki did feel somewhat grateful that the two of them kept his secret even though they could have told everyone. But they did have a point that no one would believe them if they told everyone that he's now trying to stop a mad titan without anything in it for him and after Thor probley told everyone that he died and due to recent events the Avengers probley wouldn't listen or believe them.
"Well then we need to go now and I think that I know a portal where we can take to at least the main street of the area." said Loki "If we hurry then we can watch him and make an early plan of action if we find the right moment to do so." With that they all headed out of the apartment, having to fight a battle that they never asked for. But one that they have to win no matter what.
Finally it's now up and it's about time too because there was a long delay. About that so sorry for the delay, let's just say that I had a busy past couple of months due to my new life in college. So yeah that means that there will be more delays as I have to manage my time between schoolwork and updating my fanfics. But that does not mean that I will ever abandon this story and will try to update as much as I can as often as I can.
