As the battle was intensifing and it was beginning to get even more intense. While they were trying hard to out manuver Black Widow's motorcycle. As they were driving, Wanda was able to get the machinery out of the truck and safely in one piece. As she was doing it, she used her powers to get down from the truck and then used her powers to levitate herself down from the truck safely. Once she managed to do so, a ton of Ultron driods began to attack her, but that was a mistake because she used her powers to defeat them easilly. They were all after the weapon and they weren't going to stop at nothing until they grab it one way or another. But that didn't stop her from trying to beat all of the droids that were trying to get the weapon, but they all failed miserably because Wanda used her powers to blow them away or break them apart. It looks like that it was going to work out for them after all, that is until once Wanda is done and before she could even go and try to levitate the mysterious invention. A sudden object came down and grab the machinery and flew it up to the air. She tried to use her powers to try to get it back, but she failed miserably and wound up watching it fly away and becoming determined to somehow get it back. Soon afterwards, her brother cam speeding through and stops right in front of her.
"What happend back there?" He asked concerned "Are you alright?" Once he got there, she turned towards her brother and was really concerned on what might happen now if the Avengers try to do anything that could activate the machinery and possibly make the problen a hundred times worse than it needs to be. It looks like they might have to break the news to both Loki and Darcy before the Avengers do something that makes the situation a hundred times worse. But they'll have to find one out of the two of them first.
"I think so but our main concern should be is to try to retrieve that thing before they began experimenting or do something that might make this worse." said Wanda "The Avengers will either try to see what it might be and begin experimenting on all of the machinery to find out what it might do. We have to get to it before Stark and his friends make it a bigger monster than it could be on it's own." With Pietro nodded and both of them knew that they have to find both Loki and Darcy, they need to know how the situation has gotten from bad to worse in a matter of seconds. So the two grabbed a hold of each other as Pietro sped off to find both Darcy and Loki before it's too late.
Meanwhile back in the truck
Both Darcy and Loki were trying their best to try to get out of the truck and trying hard to stop it before it cause anymore damage than any of the Ultron driods could even do on their own. But that was easier said than done, it doesn't look like if they were stoping at any time soon. In fact it seems like that their speed was increasing rather than decreasing much to their frustration. Even though time was getting to the worse possible fate that they need to get out of the truck and fast. Especially since the truck seems to be heading over to the edge of the high way and they were still in the truck. It seems to be really hopeless, that is until... Darcy has an idea but it's probably one of the last thing anyone wants to do especially when it came to both of them. But they might have to do it in order to save their lives. Darcy is definatly not looking forward to it or the brief argument that both she and Loki is going to have when she suggest it, but what choice does she really have? It's that or their lives.
"Hey Loki, I think I have an idea but it's already crazy that I don't even want to do it. So for argument sake, let's just do it after I suggest it please." said Darcy immediately and nervously at the same. "But first let me ask you, is it true what Thor said that all asgardians or in your case frost giant have a strong durability that if you fall a fall you would still be in one piece that it would look like if you trip or something?" That caught Loki off guard and decide to see where she's going with this.
"Well we all have a strong durability that if we obtain any minor injuries then our bodies will heel and won't get seriously affected." said Loki both confused and nervous "Why do you even ask to know some knowledge that you already even know the answer?" Loki already suspected what she may be thinking, but chose not to say anything in case he's wrong and gives her any ideas. Along with not sure that he could even believe it until he hears it first from Darcy and now silently hoping that he was wrong.
"If my plan works then it might involve you being my suit of armor/pillow for a moment." explain Darcy hastily "Since I was thinking that we should jump off from this truck before it gets off the high way. All we have to do is that open the door and you hold me so that way I can land safely without breaking my neck. Along with us being able to stay alive and we won't be flash to our deaths. I know it's sounds crazy but do we really have a choice?"
Once Darcy finished, Loki couldn't believe what he just heard. Out of all of the crazy ideas he had ever heard in his entire life, this must be the craziest one and he's really surprised that Thor didn't came up with that one. If Darcy said that she was going to bring home one of earth's most dangerous animals as a pet and a year later marry it then Loki would have believed in an instant. Despite knowing and living with Darcy for a while now, Loki can't believe that she would ever suggest to do something like this or even consider it. There's no way he'll ever do something this insane, not that he has anything to say about it.
"If you are going to suggest what I believe that you are going to suggest. Then I highley recomand that you don't say anything because there's no way that I am going to do something so insanely stupid that I can almost gaurentee that it could fail." said Loki immiediatly "Not too mention it's too dangerous and you could be putting your life in danger if we dare to do this reckless idea." His little last minute rant was really not that much of a surprise to Darcy and now it's time for her to play devil's advocate and convince Loki to do it.
"I know it's a totally crazy idea, but I don't think we have that much of a choice." said Darcy "Since it's either that or our lives. I hate it as much as you do, but between jumping off a truck and possibly be alive or staying in here and later fall to possibly both of our deaths with you likely still alive even after breaking every bone of your body with a concussion. I'd pick option one and learn to live with it. So for both of our sakes then maybe it might be better if we just jump off the truck before anything else happens." That immediately caught Loki by even more surprise and even though he's against that idea but he has to admit one thing. Darcy has a point and he might as well do it because of the fact that it is their lives is now at risk plus it also doesn't help that Loki feels like he can safely assume that this is an argument that he won't be able to win no matter how hard he tries. So he let in a sigh and turned to Darcy both nervous and defeated.
"I am going to do this, only because our lives are at stake and you are not going to drop this until you win this argument." Said Loki "But you better not make me regret this. I definitely do not want to be responsible if you get seriously hurt or worse die from this." Once Loki was done, all Darcy could do was roll her eyes at him and smiled that she managed to win the arguement.
"Oh come on Loki, this can't be one of the worst things that you have ever done in your life." Said Darcy trying to reassure Loki that this could be the best course of action. "Now let me climb on you so you could hold me tight and jump off this truck before it's too late for both of us."
As the truck continues to head closer and closer to the edge, Darcy got onto Loki's lap and began to hold him tight as they were getting ready to jump. Loki began to make sure that he was holding her tightly in a way to avoid any possible injuries that could occur. Though he felt really uncomfortable that Darcy has put this much trust in him even more so that he's holding her like he saw Thor holding Jane when they were escaping Asgard. It almost like if He felt like that he needs to put Darcy's well being over his own. Loki is now feeling like that he's starting to care about Darcy and don't want her to get hurt by Thanos because of him. It was almost like... 'There's no way that I could be feeling these petty, sentimental and weak emotions!' Though Loki angrily to himself as if he was repremanding some one 'Sure I could have found her a little more tolerable and maybe have grown a little fond of her due to her kindness and her willingness to help me. But there's no way I could be feeling it and even if I am, I need to stop before it goes as far as it did with my family. That is I hope that I am not feeling it and I just hope that I am right about not feeling it.' As Loki continues to think about what this 'feeling' towards Darcy is and hope that he's not feeling it. She noticed that for once since she met Loki, he seems to be out of focus and Darcy feels like it's time to bring his focus back and to even check if he's ok. They have to do it quick since they are seconds away from the edge.
"Hey Loki, are you ok?" Asked Darcy concerned "Are you ready for this?" After she asked, Loki got his focus back on the situation itself and turned to Darcy.
"As I will ever be... Let's get this over." said Loki in a sigh and he began to get ready for what they are going to have to do. Darcy quickly manages to open the truck door and Loki quickly made sure that Darcy is well protected before he knew that the moment was right. Before Loki manages to open the door and throw both of them out in the nick of time. After a quick check if they are both ok, along with a moment of awkwardness between both Darcy and Loki and they were fortunately both alright, they didn't have a chance to say one word to another when they saw the crash of the truck they were just on. The truck did go off the cliff and the mountain side, but it landed and broke a huge track and that track is exactly the last place that they would have wanted to it occur. Since it was on a bridge that was overtop on some waterly part that neither could tell if it was an ocean or a lake. But they didn't care because of the possible outcome that could occur if they don't do something quickly.
"Oh boy, I totally did not see that coming." said Darcy almost immediately "We need to get there before that train does and they fall through it in case they don't stop there in time." Now that caught Loki's attention almost immiediatly and he couldn't believe what Darcy just said. In fact if Darcy said that they should go grab an fully grown lion from the wild and keep it as a pet for a couple of years then he would have believed it a lot more than what she just said just now or whatever else she have to say right now.
"In case you have forgotten Darcy, we have just jumped out from the same truck that have caused the damage in the first place and it has caused so much trouble than it is worth." Said Loki "I think that I can speak for both of us when I say that we had about enough of that truck to last us both a life time. I am not in the mood or mind set to volunteraly put my life in danger for strangers that I barely even know." Darcy rolled her eyes when he said and quietly mumbled 'here we go again'. With that she was ready to try to get her roommate to try to be a hero again. Even if it means that they have to go through another arguement regarding the whole subject.
"I had just about enough of that truck too, but that's no excuse why we should leave all of those innocent people fall to their deaths because of the truck and us. Since as a super hero, it's kinda your responsibility to go out and save people because you are willing to do it because it's the right thing to do and not too mention you are supposed to have the belief of wanting to help people no matter what. Plus if you stopped the truck then it could be in your favor because if any of the Avengers saw Mysto saving passengers from a runway subway car then not only you'll get on their good side but maybe after this Ultron thing is over, they'll let you bring home the septar as a soulvenir."
Loki was ready to argue until he finally make it clear in Darcy's head that there's no possible way that she'll be able to convince him that he's going to go out there and rescue as many strangers as he could possibly can just after he threw himself and Darcy out of a moving truck. He's not going to throw himself in danger for something as petty as super heroics when the Avengers are here and could take care of it. But before Loki could think of good words that could convince Darcy to just forget about the truck and move on. He noticed that Darcy was clearly not having it today because after one look on her face, Loki knew that he's going to have to do this or else he's not going to be welcomed in Darcy's new apartment and might need to find a new place to live and possibly a new job as well. Since Loki immediately knew that maybe he shouldn't mess with Darcy's stubbornness today or else if it's not for an argument but the very fact that he will be homeless at the end of the day quite terafies him.
"You better not make me regret this or make me stand in front of the subway car and try to push it back with my strength." Said Loki annoyed and frustrated "Since I got one am not in the mood to get run over by a high speed piece of Midgaurdian technology that is nothing like Asgardian transportation." That immediately caused Darcy's eyes to roll and she knew that this is going to be a long argument no matter how brief it will be. Plus he was definitely not going to do something insane that even Darcy agrees that Loki has a point that it probabley would be too insane for anyone to do it in real life.
"That stuff only works for movies and there's now way that you could actually pull something off like that unless you are the Hulk." pointed out Darcy, she didn't notice that Loki gave a little shudder at the mention of the Hulk as she continues on "I would never suggest or put you in any real danger, that I could picture you dieing in a heartbeat. Asgardian or no asgardian." That made Loki even more annoyed and really wish that he could just convince Darcy that this was just as dangerous and he was not the hero type and to throw in the towel (well mask) before she drives him insane. In the perfect world, he could probabley do that and get away with it, but right now he can't afford to do that for the good of their newfound friendship and for his own good. Maybe if he somehow save these people as quickly as he could possibly can then maybe they could sneak off into the Avengers' ship while both of the twins are distracting them and take the septar before anyone notices that is gone. Even though it could be risky, but Loki is already thinking of a plan that could possibly work and make their mission complete in a faster track then how it is right now.
"Well you're already putting my life in danger and I think I may have an idea on how we can stop that train car, but it may mean that I have to use magic that you have yet to see." said Loki nervously "A magic that I never knew that I had until a year ago, I just hope that I can pull this off before it's too late and we are already running out of time as it is."
"Wait what exactly are you talking-" began Darcy nervously before she noticed that underneath the mask, his eyes began to glow red that became a little more visible through the mask and then before she knew it he was ussing his ice powers to try to connect the two parts of the rails together and to make sure that they are stable enough to withhold any heavy pressure. While he was doing it, all Darcy could do was stare at him really impressed on how awesome her friend can be with his powers. Once he was done, it look like if Loki made an ice bridge of some sort and it looks really amazing from the distance that they were both standing.
"There now are you satisfied?" asked Loki proudly as they stare of the bridge sturdy enough for a ton of subway trains to go through and pass by safely. Darcy was so impressed that she completly ignored Loki's ego for a moment.
"Wow that was really cool! Though pun really unintened, but still the way how you were able to create a bridge out of ice was amazeing and really useful. You're like Elsa from Frozen but with ice rather than snow and you're also blue!" said Darcy breathlessly and excitedly "I have to say that you are really cool and I still can't believe that you could manage to create something as cool as-" Before Darcy could even continue complimenting Loki's work, the train went over the bridge and instead of going it's normal speed. The speed of the train accelerated and it looks like it's not going to stop on it's own anytime soon and that immidiatly became concerning her as they continued to watch the train speeding down the tracks intensley.
"It doesn't look like that train is slowing down, I just can't belieive-" before Darcy could even continue, she slap herself after she realize one important thing. "I just remebered that the friction of the ice makes the train go even faster without something being there to stop it. The train might as well not even have a driver and even with one, they won't be able to stop the train in time because it's going too fast for the control's to stop."
With that Loki turned to look at Darcy surprised, since he did not expect Darcy to say that out of nowhere especailly after a week ago, she made it clear that she doesn't know anything about the mechanisms of some of Earth's technology of any kind. But the fact that she just said something that sound like that she knows more about trains then she originally implied got him really surprised and confused. So he immiediatly looked at his friend and silently demanding an explanation, since he didn't think that Darcy would be the one who would lie to him about something as petty as knowing how subway cars work and what levers to use. Before he could even ask how Darcy could know all of these things about trains just after she claimed that she had no idea how they all of these things after she said that she didn't know anything about trains.
"I kinda did some reaserch about them in case you start asking me about them in public again." explained Darcy briefly "Plus this is also common science knowledge that every scientist or intern to a scientist should know about friction and the miracle of physics. But that's besides the point because we now have a runaway train at our hands."
"We also have two of those Avengers and both the Scarlet Witch and the Quicksilver on that runaway train trying to stop it." pointed out Loki "Though I can't tell if they are schmoozing or fighting. But there's one thing that I do know, that they are probabley not going to exculpate them for their actions against Midgaurd." Darcy immediately turned to look at the specific train car as well. Even though it went by really quickly, Darcy manage to see sparks or lights of red and she thought that she saw a guy wearing a blueish suit in the train car. She couldn't get a good glimspe of the car, but she does know one thing, that if not only the Maxioff twins butat least two of the Avengers were also in the car. Then they are in really big trouble, that it definatly won't help them get the septar.
"This totally can not be happening, tell me that this is not happening." exclaimed Darcy immidiatly freaking out "Not only our own two allies are stuck on that train trying to stop it from the inside, but we might have inadvertly trapped two Avengers and endagered everyone even more. Due to the fact that most of them have superpowers and from what I can tell with Wanda's powers, it won't end well if she tries to make a blast that could possibly stop the train, she would do even more than that to the train because of the blast of her powers could break it off the rails and it will make it fall off whatever is left from the track." Now that would have made the situation go from bad to worse. But fortunately Loki's plan was off to a good start and it was going to be completed at any moment and fortunatly that moment came really soon and it was time to do so.
"Here's a word of advice, Darcy don't count your eggs before they hatch or that is whatever they say in Midguard to not assume your end before it even occur." said Loki really confidentally "Now let's see how this part of my plan turns out once that this complicated midguardian contraption has hit what you would call a road rock." At the end of Loki's sentence it made Darcy really confused that she immiediatly turned to Loki ready to speak her mind.
"'Road rock'? Don't you mean a road block?" asked Darcy immidiatly after Loki finished saying it "Plus how did you even know about road blocks? Since I thought Asguardians fly around on some kind of highly advanced space ships or something. From judging off what you and Thor have said about Asgaurd, it doesn't seem to be the place where I can pull over a taxi."
"Well in Asgard there are streets, but it's mostly for the citizens to walk on and move wagons. I just watch your television box set for eintertainment whenever you are away for work and to learn more of Midguard without waiting for you to give me an explanation every single time I dare to ask." explained Loki "Though from watching the box, I do have some concerns over how some of the customs when it comes to naming people it seems like most humans have an absurb way of name. Such as White Snow and Cindyela or something like that." That caught Darcy by surprise and she was ready to teach Loki a thing or two about Earth in the most briefest way possible.
"First of all, there names are Snow White and Cinderella, no one would name their children that because their fairy tale Disney chareceters that are not the most progressive role models for kids particulary girls to look up to. Plus you're the one to talk because your name is Loki and your brother's name is Thor and those names are really unusual around here. Though I could picture a guard dog being called Thor and maybe a cute cat being Loki, but other then that no other human being that could go around being named something like that or what's normal to an Asguardian." explained Darcy briefly "Plus didn't you watch the new Cinderella, the non animated one? That movie explained why and how she even got that name."
"Well no, I watched the one where the adorable rodents were talking in really bad grammer and the fact that she didn't even stood up for herself and married a complete stranger seems concerning and somewhat unrealistic." said Loki "I just hope that most women in Midguard don't do that or you decide to do the very same thing with that Ian fellow that you are now courting. As your friend, I truely advise you not to marry him as quickly as those heroines in the films did in those films. Not only because you may need more time to get to know him, but it also doesn't seem to be healthy for anyone in a relation ship."
Once Loki was done, all Darcy felt was a little concern over Loki's most recent observations of Midguardian culture. Along with knowing that after this, she really needs to teach him that not everything, he is going to see on tv is going to be true. Along with helping him find better movies to watch until he learns more about Earth and won't get the wrong idea. So that way whenever he's out of the house either hanging out with her or being Mysto, he won have to embarrass himself or her or both of them with the things he see on tv and old Disney movies.
"Why don't you do the rest of your plan and save everyone on that train alright?" suggested Darcy "Then maybe later after all of this is over, we can talk about getting you a better movie selection." Loki stared at her for a moment, confused of her for most of what she just said. But he decided to ignore it for a moment and to focus on the situation at hand.
Once Loki felt that there wasn't anything more to add to the coversation, then he went closer towards the corner of the rail. Though it wasn't that close that Loki would be in any form of danger of possibly getting run over, but it was close enough for his plan to work the most successfully as it could possibly can. Once the moment was right, Loki imidieatly got to work on his plan and the next thing that every one knew was that a wall of sturdy but yet unbreakable ice and in case if the train did break through he managed to make a ramp that could possibly lead the ice to slow the train's friction to the point that it could possibly stop safely without crashing into anything. Soon the train cashed into the wall, but fortunately Loki's back up plan began to work and he's happy to say that at least it's a better success than the wall. Even though the downwards part was initially increasing the train's speed rather than decreasing, but once it reached the ground... It fortunatly began to slow down much to everyone's relief and it eventually did stop, once it did then the situation was already in suspense. Loki watched carefully to see that if his plan suceeded and if no one was at all injured because of him. Since if the Avengers weren't going to go after them, then he's going to have to deal with Darcy and possibly never having to live it down until he finds better stratagies that could make up for his mistake and possibly be facing something worse than what Thanos might do to him. Well at least at the time being and he has known Darcy long enough to know that she won't drop it as humans would put it for a very long time.
Darcy was just as nervous as Loki is and don't know what she would do if this was a complete dud. Since not only that they would have failed drastically in trying to manage to save people through this whole superhero crusade as Loki would put it. It would not only lead to possibly being held responsible, but who knows if it could lead to the two of them being on the run and possibly make things worse for both of them. Especially Loki because even if his identity somehow gets revealed, then no one would be able to trust him to let him live his life in peace. Not too mention, no one would probabley live him alone due to their own supicions about some evil plan that does't even exist. As the two watched the scene nervously, then they noticed something going on with the train car's doors. The two of them head even closer to the scene, but not that close for anyone to have notice that there was both of them watching the scene or figure out that they might have something to do with the mysteryous apearence of the ice wall. But they wouldn't have to worry about being spotted because everyone was interested in some sort of red light that was surrounding the train doors and they soon noticed a hand covered in a brownish red glove and soon two of them began to try to push the doors apart. The next thing that they knew was that once all of those doors open, they noticed that both Captain America and Wanda came out in one piecee and completely alright. Soon more people began to head out of the train and then more people including Black Widow and Pietro, soon more people came over there to see if there's anyway that could do to help. As the scene began to unfold, both Darcy and Loki began to move away from the scene to give people room and to not draw any attention from the crowd, once they were far away enough. They continued to watch and see what's going on both happy that they could walk away here without worrying that they failed and that all of those people were saved.
"I can't believe this, we just stopped a runaway train..." said Darcy really excitedly "We just stopped a runway train!" With that Loki just rolled his eyes and even though Darcy couldn't see that under his mask, but he was clearly annoyed at her childish excitement. But he knows a way to get her back and to make the facts straight.
"Well technically I was the one who stopped the runway train and all you were doing was cheering me on and supervising my every move." pointed out Loki "Along with taking control of that truck when you had the chance, but other than that I believe you did alright as well." That response immiediatly caught Darcy's attention immediately.
"Is that suppose to be a compliment?" asked Darcy "But if it weren't for me then maybe we wouldn't be here or at least you wouldn't be a superrhero now." Loki just rolled his eyes as they continue to watch the scene and the positive effects of the heroic deed unfold.
An hour later
Both Darcy and Loki found a good spot that didn't get in the way of the people helping the two Avengers get people out and clear the area. It was an intense day and they both couldn't believe what happened throughout the day. Especially Loki because he was able to do so much that he never thought in his wildest dreams was being able to do what he did today and he doesn't know how he must feel about it. In fact he doesn't know if he should be happy that for once since he has discovered that he was adopted if he should be happy or upset with himself for what he has done and how he should feel. Before he could think some more or say a word, Darcy has a lot to say that is going on in her mind.
"Wow, out of all of the craziest days that I have ever have in my life, this must be one of the craziest and I think I could definitely get used to this superhero thing. Ok you're the one that is doing all of the hero work, but at least we get to go through it together." said Darcy "So what made you change your mind about being Mysto? Since that kinda came out of nowhere and you kinda gave up the fight of resisting the idea. It's my threat to kick you out wasn't it? You couldn't stand the idea of living on the streets, begging for spare change every day for the rest of your life." With that it caused Loki to immidiatly role his eyes at Darcy and thought about what he should say to Darcy because he wasn't ready for someone more specifically Darcy wanting to ask him why he changed his mind and decided that it was time to be a hero. But he figured that it might be best if he just tell Darcy some version of the truth because he doesn't know if she would recieve the idea of him taking advice from his mother through a strange dream. But at the same time, he doesn't want to lie to Darcy, so he might as well take the third option.
"Let's just say that I thought of what my mother would want me to do and if she was here what would she say to me. The answer was obviously to go and do what your friend wants, to become a costumed crusader and fight evil." explained Loki in a brief yet vague way "Probably to give me a chance to redeem myself from my previous crimes against Earth and try to make things right with the people here and maybe even..." Loki stopped himself before he could go any further because no matter how much he may want it to happen. Loki knew deep down it might never happen no matter how much he would like to make things up with his brother and if Thor ever does find out, he's probably going to be so angry that he could barely say a word to Loki again. Before Loki could continue to think some more...
"Your brother... You do realize that you might not feeling this guilty if you just tell him that you are alright right?" said Darcy "I mean even though Thor doesn't know that you are Mysto or what you did. But if he did then maybe he'd be proud and forgive you. Not too mention, there's still your dad and he still might not be happy that the last thing that he said to you was something bad I'm imagining and now thinks your dead. Maybe he's now regreating it and it might be a little nicer to you if you go up, reveal yourself and apologies."
"That's probably is not going to happen at all because the last time we met... He would have sentenced me to death if it weren't for my mother intervention. I don't think that he should know or at least for right now because he would send me back to that cell if I dare go into Asgard and reveal myself to him." said Loki matter of factly "If you want me to stop Thanos then keeping it a secret from both Thor and Odin is the only option. Not too mention that the fact that I just used my Frost Giant abilities to actually save people would not go well for anyone in Asgard."
"Is it because of that centuries old grudge between frost giant and asgaurdian, though it's totally pointless because of the fact that you guys pratcitcally don't know what you are fighting for." said Darcy "But you were cool out there literally, you were just like Elsa and using your powers to try to stop the train car and practically make it work. I don't see why you don't use those powers more often because if it were up to me then I'd probabley would use ice magic to not only make my life easier on heat waves or to create snow storms to make my own snow days. But I probabley would use it for fun and maybe even to help people like you did." Loki just stared at her not knowing how to feel towards that comment or react to the fact that she just complimented him in her own Darcy way and compared him to an Elsa (whatever that is). Once he finally found the words that he's going to use, then at that moment he decided to speak.
"Before now I never knew on how powerful these powers are and what I might be capable in doing with them..." said Loki in disbelief "All of my life, I heard that the frost giants were monsters of destruction and they mostly use their abilities to destroy many lives. I never thought that..."
"Well you did something awesome and saved so many people today. I think you just proved that just because people say that you have to be something or some kind of a stereotype, it doesn't mean that you are what they say. In fact you have shown me that the very moment that we first met because I thought that you were a monster that only cares about taking over the world." said Darcy bluntly "But you have prove me wrong because deep down you are just a nice guy deep down that villain who has been gone for a while because he's been too hurt to see that whether he's an Asgardian or frost giant or heck even a speck of dust. You can choose who ever you want to be and it's ok if you want to be your own person." Loki didn't know what to say because never before he had heard someone speak about him with such praise, maybe Thor and his mother but never someone that considers him as a friend. Plus Darcy in her own way is right because even though those Asgardian fairy tales depicted him as a monster, it doesn't mean that he has to be one or continue to be the villain that he was when he was trying to take over New York. He wants to be a better person, even though he does not want to go around in full costumed everyday for the rest of his life to help strangers. Since the heroic deeds and praise is not his thing, he honestly don't know how Thor could tolarate it and managed remain sane. But now he sees that it is time to try to be a better person because Darcy inspired him to do so and before he could say anything...
Wanda came over to them as fast as she could possibly can and from one look of her, it looks like that she has been through a lot. But then again, she did help stop a runaway train and many Ultron droids. Along with possibly somehow getting the machinery that the mind stone is now resides in and he really hopes that they somehow managed to get it before it was too late. Since if they gotten the stone and they could leave this city and this problem to the Avengers to deal with then he would be forever grateful.
"Wanda you're back already, it took you long enough. Did it go alright back there?" said Darcy "Wait where is your brother?"
"What about the machinery that you claimed that the stone is in?" asked Loki almost immediately "Did you managed to get it?" She then looked nervously at him before giving Loki her answer.
"Well we kinda managed to get a hold of it, but then again we didn't managed to do so." explained Wanda "Since we have good news and bad news regarding the subject, do you two have a preference of what you want to hear?" With that both Darcy and Loki exchanged a worried look with so many questions filling their minds and not sure how bad the situation may actually be.
"The good news." they both said at the same time as if it was reheasred. Then Wanda gave a sigh and then began to start sharing the news that she have to share.
"Well the good news is that we have access where the object in question is and we know where it is." explained Wanda "Plus we have two Avengers on our side now and they know what that machine could do if it lands in the wrong hands." That made both Darcy and Loki confused and worried, not knowing what to say or think, wondering about the possible bad news they might have to face.
"What is the bad news then?" asked Loki finally breaking the ice and silently questioning if he truly wants to know and if he's going to regret it later.
"The bad news is that the machine with the stone implanted is with the other Avengers who probably going to experiment it and possibly unwillingly finish what Ultron started. If we don't hurry then they might finish it and we might have bigger problems." explaned Wanda with both Darcy and Loki having blank shares. "Plus not too mention, we kinda told Black Widow and Captain America about how you two helped out and really want to talk to you." Both of them exchanged a look and then returned their focus back onto the conversation.
"Wait does half of the Avengers want to experiment on that thing or they want to talk to us?' asked Darcy fearing both answers might be the case.
"Both." responded Wanda honestly as she and Darcy paid close attention to Loki. Since they both don't know how he might feel about this sudden development and especially after having tried so hard to avoid it at all costs. Loki himself is not sure what to think because he's more worried that once the Avengers find out that he wants the stone or if Thor knows about the power of the Infinity stones then who knows where that would lead. He'd be lucky if he managed to convince them to at least consider giving them the machinery that the Infinity stone is residing. But at the same time, if he was able to gain some kind of trust from the Avengers then maybe they will come in handy when it is finally time to possibly face Thanos because it won't be an easy battle against him and they will need all of the help that they could possibly get. Though whatever may happen next, he knew that he needs to be prepared for anything because if there's a chance that he needs to make sure that his secret remains well a secret. Since he can't really afford anyone else discovering that he's actually alive and is here on Earth because then they will not only be after him, but they will also be in danger from Thanos's wrath. Even though Loki does not like what is going on and thinks that this is a terrible idea, but there's only one choice for this whole situation that he needs to do in order to gain some kind of access to the Infinity stone.
"Well I guess you're going to need to lead us to them, so we can chat and get this over with." said Loki. With that Wanda only nodded silently and began to lead the two to where Captain America and Black Widow may be. Both Loki and Darcy may not know what might happen or if this will end well, but no matter what happens they have each others backs and they are going to stop Thanos before he collects all of the Infinity stones. They have to for the fate of the unviverse and for themselves and they are ready to do whatever it takes.

Well it's about time and it looks like the wait is finally over for this chapter. Sorry again for the delay, I have been really busy and have my own life as well to focus on because as a student, I have to deal with a ton of homework and exams if I want good grades. But at least I have the chapter up and I think the next chapter will be up around April or May but it will be close when Avengers Endgame hit theaters. (So no matter what happens to Loki, we can still have this story and other fan fictions and the Loki series to look forward too.) In case your wondering there will be two to three more chapters in this Ultron arc before things gets more spicier and suspenseful in the following chapters where we get closer to the final battle. But this arc will be really important and one of the keys that Loki is going to need in order to defeat Thanos. This was originally going to be in chapter 25, but it felt more like it could be as it's own chapter because of the charecter development and to see both Darcy and Loki's relationship grow. But at least it's here and I am going to try to not make as many delays as I have been making. Since this is the first update of the year and I was planning to have it done in December before the new year started. But let's hope that this delay make it in really good quality that it's worth the wait. But anyway are you guys excited to finally meet the other Avengers in this story? It's about time too because I have been teasing it and the charecters have been mentioing them too. Aside from that, in order to make it up to you guys I am going to reveal one thing that will happen in the story because it's come to my attention that some of you were excited to see Nebula appear earlier on in one of the chapters and she's hasn't made an appearance since. So the question is will Nebula return?... She will return in the future and let's just say that she is going to have a really interesting role in the future that will keep everyone on their toes... What do I mean by that? Will the Avengers defeat Ultron? Will Loki get involved and somehow get the Infinity Stone? How is the chase and the war between our two heroes and Thanos, Nebula and Thanos's supporters connected to all of this? You're going to have to wait for the next update to find out. Sorry because if I answered all of these questions then I would have to reveal a lot of things that might spoil everything and where's the fun in that?
