Third Person View

All of the officers are on their toes and the recon group is just returning, "They're back!" Betty said excitedly with her friends returning. Flame Princess gets off of her chair and rushed to the viewer to see only four people back and Finn not in sight. "Oh Glob." She whispered to herself. She dashed out of the base leaving trails of flames that startled some of the people, "Where's Finn!?" She asks them. The group stared at each other with somber looks as Flame princess quickly picked up that something wrong has happened. "He was taken hostage." Maxwell quickly said. Flame princess's flames grew and she asked, "By who!? And why did he even risk himself especially for you!"

Marceline and the others are trying to calm Flame Princess down but Maxwell was fast, she grabbed Flame Princess and she was reduced just enough to sustain her life. "YOU MONSTER!" Flame Princess's brother said as he charged at Maxwell be he himself fell weak. The whole army trembled as they saw the two most powerful Flame persons kneel before Maxwell. "Now that you two flames have calmed down are you ready to listen?" Flame princess glared at her but she nodded in the end, Maxwell released them and their flames ignited again. "I'm the only one who can help Finn stir to the right direction; if I don't interfere he will fail to save all life here on earth."

After the whole fiasco the meeting began, but again they're at another disagreement. "Why can't I help you!?" Flame princess demanded answers as Maxwell lays-out her plans. "You are not immortal alright, besides, who will take care of the two kingdoms you have right now if something happens to you." Flame Princess wanted to contest but could not come up with an answer, Maxwell then took the chance to finalize the plan. "So I will have my contact open us an immediate pathway to Tia's realm, I will take these three with me to help in rescuing Finn." She pointed at Marceline, Nico and Huntress. "These two aren't immortal either!" "So am I, but we are formidable, cooperative and crafty."

"Wait what about Nico, he's dangerous." Huntress pointed out which in turn angers him, "I told you I didn't do it, I blacked out." "What is this you two are talking about?" Maxwell asks. "Nico just went and made the rock king into a mindless being and moments later he touched the king and turned him into dust." "What now? I don't recall Nico having that kind of power." Marceline opposed. "Just stop, dangerous or not he's going with us, we're running out of options." The room became silent, most of them questions Maxwell's statement about Nico but again her display of power gave her supremacy over them. "I will deal with Tia while you three find Finn and escape."

The three were all assigned what to do when Finn is found and Maxwell inquired, "Do you have any questions?" Nico raised his hand. "This Tia, is she immortal?" "No, but she is wise and powerful. Guardians live forever but they can be killed, just like one I know." Maxwell had a poignant face while answering that question which made the other two retract their questions for later. "Okay, so we will go to Althea at the break of dawn, rest for a while." Marceline went to her and she whispered, "Thank you." Maxwell smiles and the two went to their rooms. "Marceline... After you freshen up, come to the balcony, I'll have a word with you." "Okay..." Marceline agrees.

Maxwell POV

Nico, an existence I just knew today. I have known every being that are living, have lived and to live in Ooo and now he pops up out of nowhere. He must be hiding something, Huntress even brought it up earlier, I didn't have a chance to ask about that, but Marceline who knew him had no idea about it. The evidence is there but it's all contradicting my hunch, is he Grayson? The two of them look the same but Grayson never really had a distinguishing feature like a mark or something so I won't know for sure unless I know his past, so I need to ask Marceline about that. As I wait I look at the heavens.

FLASHBACK

Grayson and I are running in the halls as we avoid Tia, she is the one who is tasked to hunt us down. What could be our fault you asked? We aided the humans, we saw what our fellow guardians did to them and it was not what we made the humans for. So Grayson aided them by giving them personality and individuality, a way to think for themselves. Now we were at the edge of the void where none escapes its grasp. "We can't stop Tia, not this time." "Then what do we-" I was shocked as I saw Grayson pushed over, I tried to get him but the last words I heard from him was, "Go and live."

I wanted to jump with him but with his words I stopped and then Tia grabbed my hand. "I can't let your crimes go unpunished but I can't disagree with you either." "What the heck are you saying, you just killed Grayson!" She encased me in a container and said, "A viable sacrifice, I will imprison you in your spear and the only way to escape is by encountering a human whose intellect possess what you have given them.

FLASHBACK END

The memory of that dreadful day still haunts me to this day, I wasn't able to save Grayson and I just watch as the horrors of humanity unfold. They destroyed themselves and with me trapped I couldn't stop what we started.

"Maxwell!" I was startled; it was Marceline who I just noticed now. "You've been here for how long?" I asked embarrassed about the idea that I was out of it for half an hour. "Nah I just got here three minutes ago, anyway what is it?" "it's about Nico, how long have you known him?" Marceline scratches her head and she answers, "I encountered him after I became the vampire queen. He was messing with my 'raiders' back then that I had to step in. Well he helped steer me to the right direction and eventually we became good friends." "Did he tell you how long he was alive?" "No, I haven't asked him." "Thank you." I said and then she left.

"You're a peculiar woman." I was shocked when I saw Nico on the balcony, I backed away but the said, "No I wasn't spying or anything I was just hanging on my hammock underneath." I looked over to confirm and he was right, "I could Kind of understand what you think, I just up and appeared out of nowhere and suddenly getting cozy around everyone." He was about to go back but I held his hand and I said, "NO! That's... I was just... You remind me of someone I... Lost." "I-I'm sorry, but I can answer one of your questions." I listened carefully and he continued, "I have witnessed all of humanity from the shadows, watching them rise and fall."

Finn POV

I was trapped in a perpetual nightmare, it was me destroying everything. It was like what Betty showed me and every time it end I always hear me say, "Thank you..." It played on my mind so many times that I didn't even bother counting after the fourth time, the view is just horrendous as I see myself kill every single person I vowed to protect and the worse is that not once, in all the repetitions, did I stop to look back at the mess I made... That phrase again, it never changes and it may never will. Can I even wake up again? I want to wake up! As I said that I finally did open my eyes.

I was in a chamber somewhere, my body is all tied up and the only part of mine I can move is my head. "Well since I can't move, I'll just observe and take my time." As I finished that sentence I heard a man yelling, "YOU LIED TO US!" "SHUT UP, I'M DONE WITH YOU BOSSING ME AROUND YOU PRICK. FROM HERE ON OUT I WILL DO WHAT I SEE FIT!" "First your betrayal now the corruption, I regret putting my faith in you Tia." "Well you can take that faith and shove it in your ass!" When the screaming died down I heard a stomping noise, which means my captor is coming back here. "You, I know you're awake!"

One of the guardians Maxwell warned us about, I'm not sure who it is though. "Quite the trouble you're in." "I should be the one saying that to you." She quickly replied. I could feel something different about her but I can't be sure what it is. "I can't believe you don't remember." I was surprised, the shadow's voice. "It's the Lich, no wonder he hasn't shown up. He is assimilated to that woman's form-" "You better shut that friend of yours before I drag him out and smash him to pieces." I swore I could feel the shadow whimper with that threat. "You're probably wondering who am I, I am Tia. I was tasked to capture you but I-"

She stopped and stood there, I was wondering what was happening but then I saw her eyes glow green. "Good luck Finn, You'll need it." The shadow was right the ambience changed into a cold one. "That bitch took too long to go down, it's time Finn." Immediately after that I felt a sharp pain on my legs and I saw that it was impaled by two blades. "You're immortal now, but nonetheless I will take my time." The pain continued, as he angled the two blades and pulled them simultaneously, which tore some of my flesh. "Is this how you really fight? Like a coward?" "Say what you will my child, but if it's effective, I'll take it."

He stabbed me on my right shoulder and froze the blade which made my whole arm numb, I couldn't do anything but scream to lessen the pain but I fear that I might not be able to hold on for long. "You know, you're right. This is dissatisfying." He retracted the blade which at that point is unnoticeable if I didn't see it. "What in the world..." "Stand up; I will give you a fighting chance." He gave me my blade but I can barely stand, my legs are just starting to heal. "What's your plan!?" I asked. "Well, I'm trapped in this woman's body, do me a favor and kill her." "You're making a mistake!" "I beg to differ."

Althea POV
"That is absurd, ill-advised and with this team too? Are you out of your mind?" I was dumbfounded with what Maxwell presented me, a rescue mission against Tia and what does she bring? A single immortal in a four man team. "C'mon Althea, we'll get by." "No I say this again, Finn will be fine, he's immortal now right?" I felt silence but Huntress wizard stepped up and said, "Yes but he might be turned against us if we leave him there for too long." She was sharp, one detail about that vision was Finn being controlled by the enemy, but still it's too rash. "If that's the case then bring another one as powerful as Maxwell to tag along."

"Hello dad, yeah we need your help. You can? Cool." Marceline was quick and at that moment I regretted my decision. "Hey Thea long time no see, I love what you did with the place, though it needs a little dash of red and black don't you agree?" Hunson Abadeer, the last man I expected to be even talking to. The room became silent with his arrival and I could feel Marceline's embarrassment. "I guess I'll sit down for now, tell me what it is you want and where is my boy, Finn?" "Yeah that is the problem, Tia had taken him." "Oh... Then let's get him back, what are we waiting for?" He said enthusiastically. "You can't it's too dangerous!"

"Listen here sweets, I have been keeping my sights on them a few weeks now. And I can tell that something is horribly wrong about that Tia." "Don't call me that, just spill the details." That old nickname... "I can't tell you much but she's possessed." "By who?" We all asked. "I'll show you." Hunson stood up and opened a viewer which showed Finn weakened and fighting Tia, it was a horrible sight. "This is live by the way, you can thank me later." "YOU KNEW AND YOU DIDN'T TELL US!? FINN IS BREAKING DOWN!" Marceline was enraged, Hunson closes the viewer and he said. "I, along with Maxwell here, will deal with the li-Tia." I was now certain to me.

"Who's that again?" I asked him, Hunson was caught. "Alright, the Lich is in there so what." "So what!? Is all you can say?" Maxwell was clearly irritated, she knew what the Lich is capable of and Hunson was just downplaying it. "What could you possibly have in mind that can turn this in our favor!?" Nico finally voiced out, he was silent the entire time but at the mention of the Lich he was quickly alarmed. "Listen here my dear mortal." Hunson said as he landed his hands in Nico's shoulder. "I am Lord of Evil for a reason, now I can't guarantee success but I can guarantee your protection if worse comes to worse." Nico was silent, thinking.

"Then I guess it's a trip then." Nico said. "Well if that is so, I can't disagree with those terms." Huntress added. "We can't fail now, even if we have to face the Lich." The three for some reason became really into the mission with Hunson's declaration, I looked Maxwell and she gave me a smirk which I swear is the most annoying thing I have ever seen. "Alright, even if I try to stop you I'll just waste my energy. I'll be opening a portal in five minutes." I told them to be ready and that they have to contact me if the need a way out. It's against my better judgement, Finn you better be worth the trouble."

Flame Princess POV

"We need to take the offensive while the Rock kingdom is weak." My brother proposed, with the report of the rock king's demise the battle has completely flipped, the soldier's morale is on high and we are now in the offensive. "We take advantage of it as much as we can, send out strike teams to push the enemy back and prepare the army to march forward at the break of dawn." The other generals agreed with my decision and as the bell rang we dismissed the meeting for the night. I went up to Bonnie's room and as I remove my armor I talked to her portrait about what had gone down for the day. It became my routine.

After that I went over the balcony to see the candy people. I had most of my subjects and citizens move to the candy kingdom last week. It was shaky at first but the candy people had been very accommodating, making my citizens feel at home. I changed my view down to the garden where some of the gardeners were changing the topiaries with my image, "Now wait, I didn't order this." I quickly went down and almost surprised the workers. "Stop, no that won't do." "I'm sorry Flame princess, is your image not suitable?" "No, don't replace Bonnie with me, who ordered you to do that anyway?" They looked at each other and said, "Your brother and Peppermint butler."

"Yes, it is fitting for you my dear sister." I turned and there he is, in his usual dominant stance. "I didn't ask for this, you two can go now." The gardeners bowed and hightailed it, the might had an idea to what might happen if they stayed any longer. "You can't do that, this is the candy kingdom." "Yes and you are ruling it so why not? Even the butler of the late princess agrees with me." I sighed and gave my brother a smile but I said, "I can understand your view in this, but if not for her I wouldn't be even here in the first place. Brother, Bonnie has given our people the chance to be with other beings."

"If that is your say... I will stop it, I have to give compensation to the sculptors and painters who I commissioned." I let out a hearty laugh; my brother is overstepping me in a funny and ridiculous manner. His face shows signs of confusion which made it more hilarious. I took deep breaths repeatedly to stop myself from laughing any further and I told him. "I appreciate your effort, but next time, give me a heads up." "I will, sorry again." He went back to the castle and I said, "I love you, you're the best." "I'll keep that in mind Phoebe, thank you." I smiled and I went back to the room now that the misunderstanding is settled.

I lay down on the bed. It has been a long day. I had a great last minute comedy but that was it. I was still worried about Finn though, but my eyes were tired and the last words I can mutter was, "Glob, keep Finn safe." And with that I am asleep, but not for long as I woke up but not on the room but on the grasslands. I stood up and I saw Finn standing, I tried to get to him but as I go closer I felt a blade pierce through me. "This has to be a dream." As he pulled it out I fell and when I looked up I saw the cosmic owl screeching.

"NO!" I yelled and the owl stopped and looked at me, "Interesting, he said." I stood back up and the scene had changed, it was like an infinite space and the owl was still there. "I can feel your desire for answers, it has been a while since I was interfered by a lucid dreamer." "I don't know what you're talking about, but you're right I need answers." The owl took a chair and said, "Go on." "It has been festering in my mind for a long time, Finn said you caused him to write those hurtful letters." The owl was surprised, he was scratching his head like Flambo. "I didn't-" "I'll tell the story again, this time, answer properly."

FP swinging through the motions, The Lich is actually honorable for an evil person. What could Finn do about his situation, for now I'll leave it here and you just have to wait to find out. I'll be cranking up the production on these chapters so expect a regular update, anyway the only barricade I have is a single subject I have to retake and my favorite game for this year CS:GO. I'm very active in Matchmaking and betting, and I'm having a good run.
