Baby on board

Chapter two

During the rest of the afternoon, Harry and Draco had talked a lot, partly about the past to ensure that both would know a few details about the other since they were supposed to be dating for a while. They also have their story straight on how they got together and how that relationship developed. It even leaves a loop whole that explains why they won't know everything about the other. During that time Draco was once again surprised how Slytherin Harry can be, because Harry meticulously planned every detail on how to talk with his friends. Making the whole thing even more believable and forcing Ron to stay at least quiet enough for a proper conversation, if not really calm. It also will allow Draco to discreetly listen in while Ron and Hermione will have the illusion of some privacy.

When Ron and Hermione open the door, Harry is just putting on his shirt, just like he had planned. Draco, on the other hand, is lying in bed, naked as the day he was born but mostly covered by a blanket. He's pretending to be fast asleep and Harry smiles at his friends giving a shushing sign and points to the couch. After that, he pulls up the blanked further to keep Draco warm and cover him up some more before he moves towards the couch.

"I can get us some dinner later but do you mind if we wait for Draco to wake up again? He's tired." Harry asks quietly.

"Draco?" Ron asks, "Since when is Malfoy, Draco?" Ron asks in a hushed but clearly upset voice and Harry has a feeling that he already would have gotten louder, would he not try to keep Draco asleep to talk to Harry in privet.

"Since the end of last year when he, misunderstood something." Harry grins.

"Misunderstood what?" Ron hisses upset.

"Misunderstood probably isn't the right word, but it's complicated." Harry pretends to hesitate.

"Go one." Hermione says, "I'm sure we'll get it."

"Well, turns out there is someone in this school who brews Polyjuice potion for fun. Remember Ron, the one we did during our second year." Ron just nods with a duh look on his face. "Well, this person does it to screw others pretending to be someone else."

"That is horrible." Hermione replies, "But what does that have to do with you and Malfoy."

"I was getting to that." Harry sighs, "This person flirts pretending to be someone else but once he gets some sort of positive reaction, he does tell them the truth. And then he offers to let them have some fun with the body he's currently having, if you get what I mean."

"Still horrible," Hermione huffs. "I'd hate for someone to *use* my body like that."

"Good for you it's mine they usually use." Harry says, "No idea where he got the hair from, but he does use me for that. Anyhow, that person did sort of start a fight with Draco, only verbal though and then suddenly kissed him silly. He did mention that he wasn't really me but that he had a feeling that the tension between us was sexually and offered to let Draco have a go with my body."

"And he took that offer?" Ron asks outraged but still trying to stay quiet. "That is sick mate."

"Draco thought it was me and that I was too worried he didn't want me, he thought to be smoothing me while I pretended to be someone else under Polyjuice." Harry points out. "Which is why a few days after they did that, he came on to me. As in grabbing me, pulling me into a dark alcove and kissing me silly. Imagine my surprise, but really, he's one hell of a kisser. I didn't really stop him and just asked later what it was about, and he told me the whole story saying that after he just got to kiss the real me, he believes that other guy because apparently, I'm different."

"Maybe he should try to find the other again," Ron mumbles looking like he was about to get sick.

"He cares about me too much and different doesn't mean worse." Harry points out "He likes it with me. And anyway, we talked a lot today and even though we mostly were just, you know, messing around a little before, we are dating now. Kind of have to."

"Why do you have to?" Hermione asks.

"Mainly because we both love each other and just didn't dare to say that before today, and partly because he's pregnant," Harry replies. "With my child, obviously."

"Are you sure?" Ron asks sceptically, "Who knows if he screwed around with others."

"He isn't like that." Harry insists, knowing how wrong that would have been last year where he got some of Harry's hair, "But, we will have to do a paternity test because of something that happened this summer."

"So he did screw around." Ron deadpans.

"He was forced." Harry replies, "It was either do as that other guy wanted or watch his mother and father die and he wanted to protect his mother. He didn't want, nor enjoy being Voldemort's plaything."

"Voldemort?" Ron asks shocked. "You mean he could have Voldemort's brat growing in him?"

"It's mine," Harry growls upset. "The potion Draco did showed that he got pregnant at the start of the term. First or second week of it. And that with Voldemort was the last day of the holidays which I know is skirting the edge of it all but it's still more likely to be my child. We will test it just to be sure and Draco is afraid that it might be his. It really isn't very likely though. But being with him and all that is part of the reason why I was occasionally watching Draco."

"Obsessed about him you mean." Hermione sighs.

"He was different after the summer. He was still secretly meeting me, obviously, but he was different, more focused on just screwing and he was skittish when around me. He also never fully undressed." Harry sighs, "Which is why I was so sure he was hiding something like the dark mark. And let me point out, I was right, he does have a dark mark, but he never wanted to have one. He doesn't know what to do though, if he doesn't do as ordered Voldemort will kill his mother. I talked him into asking Dumbledore for help. Maybe we can get her to a safe location."

"You really are serious about this?" Ron asks outraged still trying to stay quiet.

"Of course, he is Ron." Hermione replies for Harry, rolling her eyes, "Just imagine his situation, the Dursley's and all. Harry would do anything to get a family. And Malfoy is carrying what is more than likely his child. I really hope it is though Harry, it will kill you if it isn't."

"It has to be my child." Harry sighs, "Draco was so scared when he did that potion to test if he was pregnant or not, that's what I caught him doing when I got here yesterday. When seeing that he really is pregnant, he was about to kill that baby by stabbing himself with a knife."

"What?" Hermione asks shocked, "But why?"

"Partly because of his fear that it is Voldemort's child no matter how unlikely that seems to be, and partly because we weren't really dating at the time." Harry sights, "He didn't know how I'd react about any of this. You know me, I don't exactly like to talk about my summers or anything family-related. We also never really talked about our feelings at the time and he had a dark mark. He feared to lose me and standing there with a child not sure if it was mine or, well you know. He didn't know me as you two do. And honestly, if I had left him, as he feared I would, and the baby is mine, what do you think would happen to Draco and the baby if Voldemort found out? He was scared shitless. But just so you know. I'm not with him just because of the baby, I really do like him. Why else do you think I was this upset all this time about him possibly having the dark mark?"

Ron and Hermione watch him for a moment. "And you really believe this can work out?"

"As I said, I really do care about him." Harry says and grins, this next part wasn't planned with Draco and Harry is sure that he'll pretend to wake up any second now to stop him from saying more than he's about to do now, "And don't tell him I told you, but Dobby let it slip that Draco already had a major crush on me during our second year."

"Seriously?" Ron asks before looking to the bed noticing Draco stir on it.

Harry looks with a loving smile at Draco as well while said blond gives an Oscar-worthy performance of a teen waking up. Once he sits in bed and looks around sleepily Harry says, "Hey sleeping beauty. Want me to get some Dinner for you or do you want to nap some more. We can wait."

"Hey, I'm hungry." Ron whines.

"He's pregnant. He chooses." Harry just shrugs.

Ron grumbles while Draco moves the blanket closer around himself before walking with it towards Harry saying, "Food sounds good." Once he reaches the others he plops down on Harry's lap and leans against him. "Still tired though."

"Want me to go alone to Dumbledore later?" Harry questions. "I could tell him that you aren't feeling well."

"I'm not sick." Draco grins, "You mister Potter just wore me out."

"Sorry." Harry grins, "All the more reason I should take the responsibility of talking to Dumbledore."

"I can talk for myself," Draco grumbles.

"I know that you can talk for yourself Draco." Harry replies calmly, "And I wouldn't dream of saying otherwise, it was just an offer to make things easier for you. I just want what is best for you."

"I know." Draco sighs before he even acknowledges the other two of the golden trio with a nod.

"We should eat," Harry replies hoping that Hermione will melt a little when she sees Dobby's reaction towards Draco. "Dobby."

The elf shows up and Harry sees Hermione look upset at him and opening her mouth about to scold Harry. "What can Dobby do for the great Mister Harry Potter sir and little master?"

"Could you please stop calling me little?" Draco whines, "I'm not little and I'm not even your master any more. Just call me Draco okay Dobby?"

"Of course, little Master Draco. Dobby will call little master Draco now." Dobby replies, "Would little Master Draco and the great Mister Harry Potter sir like their dinners now?"

Draco just groans while Harry grins and Ron chuckles. Hermione just looks surprised at the interaction. "Please do." Draco mumbles embarrassed before he turns towards Harry and slaps his shoulder, "Stop grinning, this is not funny."

"Oh come on, you'd laugh too if it was the other way around." Harry grins before giving Draco a little peck on the cheek and whispers just loud enough for both Ron and Hermione to still hear as well, "And since we both know that nothing about you is little, there is no reason to be embarrassed."

"Says the great Mister Harry Potter Sir," Draco replies with a faint blush but also smiles a little again.

The food shows up and Harry just says, "Let's eat first and then we can go to Dumbledore okay darling?"

"Okay." Draco sighs and starts to eat a little, not moving from the spot on Harry's lap. They all eat a little and Ron and Hermione eye the couple sceptically, but no one really speaks until they are nearly done.

"Harry," Hermione asks looking sceptically towards Draco once her plate is the first to be empty. "If you were dating him since the end of last year, why did he break your nose at the start of this year?"

Harry chuckles even though he sees Draco pale. They had forgotten that little detail but Harry already has an idea for an excuse. "Remember how I told you that I had something to do? I used my cloak to watch him for a good moment to jump him without his friends noticing but they were always around him and when we arrived Draco told them to go ahead and that he had to check on something since he had noticed me. After we were alone he darkened everything and well, we hadn't seen each other all summer so, for Ron's sake, let us just say we 'talked' though believe me, we didn't use many words." Harry grins and winks at her, "We knew we had to hurry though since the train could go back any time, we had no idea how long it would stay there. And well, add up horny, in a rush and a really tight space with all the trunks and bags still around. Long story short I tripped and crashed into one of the corners of a table right with my nose. After that, I told him not to heal me since it would make our 'we still heat each other' act so much more believable."

"I think I'm going to be sick," Ron grumbles.

"Oh." Hermione blushes. "It does sound reasonable, though it is tough luck to fall just like that."

"You know me." Harry shrugs, "And there were a lot of things to hit, right? I'm just glad Luna could heal it too. That way I didn't need to go see Madam Pomfrey on my first night back."

"That would have been a new record for getting hurt." Ron grins.

"And what will you do now?" Hermione asks. "I mean, will you keep this a secret? And if yes for how long?"

"We will discuss it with Dumbledore I guess." Harry replies, "I prefer to keep Draco close to me and as far from the Slytherins that might work for Voldemort already as possible. But his mother is still there, and we might need to buy Dumbledore sometime to get her out."

"How will you keep him from Slytherin house?" Ron asks, "He sleeps there, or do you intend to let him bunk with you because, to be frank, I'd rather not listen in on you two going at it."

"Neither would we want that," Harry replies. "But maybe he can have separate rooms. If not, we'll use this one."

"In that case, you should go and talk to Dumbledore and make sure to be back to classes tomorrow." Hermione replies, "Everyone was worried today."

"Sure thing." Harry grins.

After that Ron and Hermione leave to give Draco some privacy to get properly dressed. As soon as they are out Draco asks, "Why do you do this?"

"Do what?" Harry asks surprised.

"Lie like that for my sake," Draco asks. "You just claimed that the broken nose I gave you was, well you know. I just don't get why you do any of this! I don't have much of a choice, plan B pretty much sucks after all, but you don't have to do this. You don't have to protect me or this monster in me."

"I have a fully developed pathological saviour syndrome." Harry grins. "I can't not safe you. I can't just sit around and watch you kill yourself. And now Draco dear, say that it's my child."

"Why?" Draco grumbles.

"I want you to stop calling this baby a monster." Harry replies, "Call this child my child. Tell me that it's my child."

"I won't say that it's my child." Draco frowns.

"Not yours, mine!" Harry replies. "It will be mine very soon now tell me."

Draco blushes, "It's…your child."

Harry gives him a gentle kiss before ordering, "Again Draco. Tell me again."

"It's your child." Draco mumbles.

Another kiss later Harry repeats the sentence just like Draco does and it takes a little longer before they both reach Dumbledore's office. Harry is glad that the password he had gotten to learn about Voldemort's childhood is still working and climbs the stairs with Draco. He is about to knock when he hears a voice from inside shouting. "My son is missing! No one knows where he is and you want me to stand around and tweedled my thumps? He is my son! Harry might not know it but he is my son!" Harry freezes and pales drastically while Draco eyes Harry's reaction and looks just as surprised. But it seems whoever is ranting, and both have a strong feeling they know the voice of the man who is screaming inside, believes to be Harry's father for some reason. "Like it isn't enough that you want me to kill you instead of letting Draco do that. Just so the bloody Dark Lord won't doubt my loyalty. No, it's not enough that my son will hate me and think that I'm a traitor but than again, who cares, he will never know that I'm his father anyway, will he? And on top of that, you tell me to just sit and wait while you have no idea where my son is? Draco Malfoy is gone too. What if he found a way to bring my son to the Dark Lord? I have to go there and find out."

"You will only alert the Dark Lord to the fact that Harry is missing." Albus sighs and Harry and Draco must strain their ears to hear him through the door and even get closer to fully understand. "And I'm sure that Harry is fine wherever he is."

"And what if he isn't?" the other man that Harry and Draco are now sure is Severus Snape bellows angrily. "What if he is hurt or unconscious, or worse, what if he's already dead?"

"His friends were absent from dinner and I heard they returned to the common room calmly a little over an hour ago." Albus sighs, "I'm sure they know where Harry is or they would be here as well."

The other man seems to calm a little and asks, "And what will you do if he stays missing?"

"I'm sure he'll be back to class by morning," Albus replies.

"He better be in the hospital wing or I swear he'll be in detention for the rest of the year," Severus grumbles and by now Draco and Harry are leaning against the door since both men inside are quieting down.

"I'm more worried about Mister Malfoy." Albus sighs, "It must be pretty hard on him. To be ordered to kill someone at such a young age."

"But talking me into killing you is peachy isn't it?" Severus drawls sarcastically.

"I know that I'm asking a lot from you Severus my friend." Albus sighs, "But it is the only way to make sure that you will be in a position to watch over Harry from that side of the war. You do want to protect him, don't you?"

"Of course, I want to protect him," Severus growls. "I've always protected him. Even before I found out that he is my son."

"May I ask how you found out?" Albus questions curiously. "This is the first time I hear of it."

"I overheard Remus and Sirius talk at the end of last year." Severus sighs, "It seems that Bellatrix had tried to curse Black to ensure that he wouldn't be able to reproduce anymore. The curse hit Potter though, but only two medi-wizards from mungos and Sirius knew it. When Lily suddenly was pregnant Potter and Black knew that she had been cheating on Potter at least once but knowing Lily, they assumed it had been just that once. A one night stand with someone else was bad enough and not something she was likely to do but such things do happen when drunk or emotionally distraught, but a lasting affair isn't something she'd do. Since Harry still looked like Potter they did a test to see if she had used a potion to change parentage, but it seemed she only changed appearance which I could have told them. She might have thought she changed it but if Potter was cursed to shoot blanks, the potion wouldn't have worked properly, and Harry would still be mine but look like Potter's. Well, there was the chance that she had others, but since she felt bad enough about our one-night stand I was reasonably sure he's mine and by now I've verified that."

It is quiet again for a moment and Harry uses that to knock after a moment of silence. This way it won't appear like they could have listened in too much and this is already more than Harry really wanted to know. "Come in," Dumbledore says.

Harry isn't really surprised to see that he was right, it is Snape who is sitting in the office with Dumbledore. "I'm sorry for the interruption, but I need to ask you for help Professor."

"Where were you during your classes all day, Mister Potter." Snape bellows, "And the same goes for you, Mister Malfoy."

Draco practically cowers behind Harry seeing the potions Professor look so angrily towards him. Usually, Snape is pretty lax towards Slytherins but after hearing their talk Draco worries that Snape thinks that Draco really did try to kidnap Harry and was just overpowered and brought here by the other teen. "Draco was going through some intense emotional problem and I assisted with it." Harry replies, "And I was about to explain, but may he sit down, please? I don't want him to overexert himself and he seemed pretty tired earlier."

"I'm fine," Draco mumbles fearfully.

"Of course," Dumbledore replies, "You can both sit down and explain what happened."

Draco sits while Harry stands next to him and puts a hand on Draco's shoulder before he explains. "Draco and I are secretly dating since the end of last year." They both see the surprise on Snape's and Albus' faces and Harry can't help but grin before adding sheepishly. "Well, the relationship was mostly physically. At the start of this year, he was strange due to things that happened during the summer which include his father insisting that he'd take the dark mark even though he never really wanted to. He was ordered to attempt and murder you Professor and was such in distress since he didn't want to really fight in a war on another side than me, but he also is worried about his parents. His mother in particular. He was already very confused about this when he started to feel sick. He did a test and found out that he is pregnant and most likely got pregnant at the start of this term. Sadly, someone forced him to, well, there is one more person who could have fathered this child, though it is the less likely option by far since it happened on the last day of the summer break. Luckily, I was already worried about his strange behaviour since the start of term and watching him closely. I was there to stop his initial attempt to harm himself in an attempt to kill the baby and calmed him down enough to rest. It took me the better part of the day to fully calm him and talk him into asking you for assistance to possibly safe his parents and to take the rather physical relationship we had more seriously."

"Mother," Draco mumbles eyeing Severus more than Albus. "I mostly want to safe mother. And I can talk for myself."

"I know." Harry shrugs. "But they asked me where I was, and this pretty much explains it."

Dumbledore sighs and watches the young Malfoy heir who is sitting there with hunched shoulders and clearly worried. Draco is also still eyeing his head of house. He used to respect him in his youth and later worried about him spying on Draco's every move and that he'd tell Draco's father should Draco even attempt to get closer to Harry. But now he rather worries how the man will react to become a grandfather on top of this child possibly being Voldemort's. Draco isn't sure if Severus knew what happened that last day, but he has a feeling that his father will have talked about his son being favoured by the Dark Lord. No matter how much Draco hated him for it.

Severus just watches them with a frown before he sighs. "I'm sure it would be safe enough to inform Narcissa. If she hears that Draco switched sides, she will too. She'd do anything for her son."

"If you do that she will know that you are on my side." Dumbledore sighs, "The risk is too great. Especially since it won't be easy to get her alone. Someone might hear you two."

"I wouldn't let myself be overheard," Severus grumbles.

"What about an elf?" Harry asks. "Dobby knows the manor and Miss Malfoy. I'm sure he'd deliver a letter Draco could write to her himself to explain his situation to her and even help her to come here. All we need is for you and the order to protect her when she does. We could also give his father that choice."

"No!" Draco replies coldly. "It's his fault and he tried to kill you before, you said so yourself."

"But he is your father Draco." Harry replies, "Shouldn't you, as his son, give him a second chance?"

"Should I?" Draco asks before glancing towards Snape and he sees Harry blush. The way Harry is currently ignoring that particular issue shows clearly that he doesn't want to address his own father troubles. "He forced me to let the Dark Lord do with me as he wanted to do and to take that mark and to attempt to murder someone. He enjoys hurting others. I admit that I don't really want him to die since he is still my father, but I don't want anything to do with him and helping him would endanger you, myself and my mother and he is not worth that."

"I suggest you will write to both." Dumbledore replies, "If they come, your mother will be placed into a safe location and protected comfortably while your father will be put into custody by us until the war ended and he can get a fair trial. That way he will be safe for the time being without having the option to course any trouble. I believe Mister Malfoy that you should inform him of that though."

"I agree," Draco replies.

"Please write it now, that way they will have until tomorrow to make a choice and either come or stay there. I rather have this solved before Voldemort could hear about the two of you expecting a child. I presume you'll want to make it as clear as possible that it's Harry's and not his?"

"I do," Draco replies.

"In that case, we should give you Mister Malfoy a new room, separate from the house you are in." Albus sighs, "I fear that some of your housemates and their families are too involved in this war to keep you safe otherwise."

"That's partly why we came." Harry smiles. "I don't presume that I can share those with my fiancé?"

"Fiancé?" Albus and Snape ask at the same moment though Albus sounds more curious while Severus clearly believes them to have lost their minds.

"Of course." Harry grins proudly. "He's pregnant with my child after all."

"What if it isn't your child?" Severus asks.

"Then no one has to know that it isn't mine." Harry deadpans with a shrug. "I love Draco and will be beside him no matter what."

Severus sighs. "There is a potion that will ensure that the baby will start to look like you. It takes a few months after birth and it won't completely negate the other parent, but you could be sort of a third parent and even a paternity test would consider you to be the father. There is another that can negate the original father, but it would have to be taken early in the pregnancy and if it is already your child it could kill the unborn baby. If it really is possible that it is yours I suggest not to use it."

"Thank you for the advice, Professor." Harry replies, "We will use the first one you mentioned if it really isn't mine from the start but I'm pretty sure it is."

"And what makes you this sure?" Professor Snape drawls in a tone that makes it clear that he doubts Harry's reply to be even remotely logical.

"It feels like mine." Harry shrugs.

"Of course it does," Severus grumbles. "I really hope you two know what you are doing." After that, he looks towards Albus saying, "It seems I'm not needed for your planning and it wouldn't be good that Lucius sees me here if he arrives."

"Of course." Albus replies and Severus quickly leaves the room.

Harry watches after him for a moment before he turns back to Albus and asks, "Could you make sure that the Professors don't put Draco into detention or punish him otherwise? He really wasn't in any state to go to classes and I'd appreciate it if you could also ensure that I won't be punished too harshly. I'll ask Hermione to help me review the missed lessons and everything, but I couldn't have left Draco alone the way he was."

"I'll tell the teachers that I already took care of it and that you two are to be excused for the missing lessons." Albus smiles at them. "Do you have a place you can use for this night? That way I'll have some time to see if I find appropriate rooms for Mister Malfoy. Possibly with the chance of letting Miss Malfoy stay there too. I'm sure that will be very handy when the baby is born to ensure that neither of you needs to skip classes when the little one is here. And about sharing a room, I can't condone that openly until you are married, but you may visit him there. Just remember that you may not be seen in the hallways after curfew. However, they are his privet rooms so no teacher is allowed to search them. I do hope though that your classmates won't start to worry and that we'll have to search the castle for you some night!"

"Thank you, Professor," Harry replies with a smile. He certainly can get his dorm mates to shut up if he's with Draco occasionally, or permanently if Draco lets him.

"Professor, I very much doubt Mother would appreciate that." Draco interrupts with a blush. He feels nervous since apparently, Professor Dumbledore had known all along that Draco had been ordered to kill him. "She never really raised me herself since she isn't very good around baby's, but I know that she sometimes was sad that she couldn't see her sister Andromeda anymore. Couldn't she possibly go there? If that isn't too much of a burden to her."

"She does?" Dumbledore asks surprised. "I didn't think that she'd talk about her."

"Not much. But I've seen old pictures of her and my Aunts and mother was always with Andromeda while Bellatrix apparently was mostly alone or pranking them. After being asked by me, mother confirmed that she used to be closer to Andromeda and that it wasn't possible anymore because Andromeda chose her husband over her family." Draco explains, "I think it hurt her that she didn't see her anymore."

"I will contact Andromeda." Dumbledore smiles at the boy. "And don't worry about raising your child without her help, I'll have the house-elves assist you, should you wish to return to classes. But you will be excused whenever you'll need it from now on. Do try not to miss too much though or you'd have to repeat this year already you might have to repeat the next one depending on how safe going here will be for you by then."

"I understand." Draco nods. "And thank you, Professor."

Professor Dumbledore hands Draco parchment and a quill to write the two letters and once the first one for his mother is done they already send Dobby to bring it to her in the hope to catch her before she and her husband retire for the night. It would be hard to get her alone in that case.

Albus is also writing a letter for Andromeda, while Draco is writing to his mother, and sends it to Andromeda with Fawkes. Due to that Andromeda Tonks arrives by floo a few moments before Narcissa arrives with Dobby.

Draco hugs his mother and whispers to her that he's sorry to put her in danger but that he couldn't stay there. She just smiles at him and replies that she is just happy that he won't end up like his father and that he did the right thing and will be safer that way himself. Which apparently is all she really cares about.

Happy to know that his mother is save Draco considers going to bed already. Harry agrees that they might need to rest since they had a long and tiring day and night behind them but asks Dumbledore to let him know before breakfast if Lucius arrived or not.

Just like the evening before Harry makes sure that Draco is comfortable and holds him in his arms until Draco is fast asleep. And even though Harry is dreadfully tired he once again sneaks out of bed.

During that afternoon where Harry and Draco had talked a lot about their past and future plans, they had talked some more about possible engagement rings as well as their wedding. It turns out that Draco is very worried about finances since he is sure that his father will disinherit him for the betrayal or at the very least will refuse to pay for this child. He might not have another choice to prove to the Dark Lord that he won't betray the Dark Lord for his son.

Right now there is a chance again that Lucius will appear but the odds aren't too good considering what might happen during a fair trial at the end of the war.

Harry wished he could calm Draco's fears and mentioned that while not rich he could probably afford a little. There is a good bit of gold left in his vault. Draco wasn't really impressed though. Probably due to the fact that his father had always been able to financially spoil his son. Unsure how much his little mountain of gold is, Harry writes to Gringotts in the hope that one of them is willing to advise him on financial matters and includes his impending wedding and his partner being pregnant. He also writes that he would come to them if possible but with the school in session and him still being a Hogwarts student, he isn't able to do that. With a sigh, Harry finishes the letter and takes his cloak. He writes a quick note in case Draco wakes up, to let him know where he is and that he'll be back very soon and sneaks to the owlery to send Hedwig right away. He doubts the Goblins will come, but maybe they'll at least write a short note on how much he has. Draco might be able to advise him from there.

The next day Fawkes flashes into the room in a bright orange fire and awakens the two boys again. Harry sighs and takes the letter from the Phoenix. "He didn't come." Harry sighs. "Apparently, he tried to kill Dobby after he handed over the letter, unsuccessfully though, and told the elf that he'll disinherit you as you feared he would. I'm sorry Draco. But don't worry too much, I'll find a way to get enough gold for us."

"You could sell signed pictures." Draco mumbles.

"I'd rather not." Harry deadpans but after a sigh adds, "But I would even do that before I'd let you or our child suffer."

"I know." Draco sighs. "But we two won't need much while we are here anyway."

"I know." Harry replies, "And I'll get you a pretty engagement ring soon. I promise."

"I don't need an engagement ring as much as we'll need a crib for the baby." Draco points out. "Safe your money for what's really important for I have nothing anymore. I don't even have a trust vault left now!"

"What's a trust vault?" Harry asks.

"A vault parents give to their children that can only be entered if the parents die. If they are rich they usually make that to ensure that the kid will have a limited fund until it is old enough to properly deal with the wealth it will inherit once he or she is of age or engaged or about to become a parent. There are certain clauses to make sure the child won't be without money. That includes to refill the vault should everything be gone, however, the goblins will give out pocket money than to make sure the child won't be able to spend too much again. If there is no trust vault the goblins will watch how much is spend from the main vault, but the orphaned kid can enter that freely."

"I see." Harry just replies.

"You should know that." Draco frowns, "Didn't the goblins ever complain when you took gold from your inheritance? You do fall into that category after all."

"No." Harry replies, "But I usually only took a small portion to make sure it lasts me until my last year and there is still about half left. As I said, you don't need to worry, I can support you and our child for a few years."

"You clearly have no idea how much an infant costs." Draco frowns, "There is clothing that the child will outgrow nearly daily, food, diapers, toys a child needs for development, a crib and a lot of other things. Trust me, you'll run out of money in no time. We'll need way more than you probably did so far."

Harry just sighs and hopes that the goblins will have some good news for him soon and gets ready for breakfast in the great hall. He walks with Draco to the Gryffindor table and sits down opposite of Ron and Hermione. Neville sits down on Draco's other side right away and says, "I take it you're going public, at least here, with this now? Ron and Hermione told our house what is going on so we can help you to protect him, Harry."

"Thanks, mate." Harry just smiles while Draco grumbles about overprotective lions and that he's able to take care of himself. Their first classes and the morning go smoothly. Draco is with Harry all morning but after lunch, they have to split up since they have a different class. Hermione is in Draco's though, as is Dean. Both walk with him to the other class and while Hermione starts to talk about their homework assignment from the last class they had, Dean whispers to Harry, "We'll get him safely to the library afterwards and stay with him until you get there."

"Thanks, mate." Harry smiles, happy that Draco didn't hear that part. He is getting a bit upset with their overprotectiveness, but Harry really does worry about him. He is just at his next class when the teacher says, "Potter, Professor Dumbledore wants to see you now. You are excused."

Harry wonders what it is about but goes to the headmaster's office. After entering it he is surprised and hopeful to see a goblin sit there as well.

"Ah Harry my boy." Dumbledore smiles at him. "This is Gartnot, a goblin from Gringotts who asked to speak to you about something. It seems it includes assistance about something you asked for in a letter. You may talk here or go to one of the conference rooms behind the great hall, they should be empty now."

"Thank, you Professor." Harry replies, "I think a conference room would be better, it's nothing exciting or important to you and I wouldn't want to impose on you."

"I assume it includes Mister Malfoys circumstances?" Albus asks smiling and after a confirming not "Of course, you probably should get some financial advice and who better than a Gringotts goblin. Go on then. Oh, and do tell your fiancé that Dobby knows where his new rooms are and can lead him there."

Harry nods before he leads the goblin to the conference room and once there he says, "I must say I'm very happy that you took the time to see me."

"Of course, Mister Potter." The Goblin replies, "We only do this for a select few."

"I'm glad I'm one of them." Harry replies, "May I ask why though?"

"Your wealth is rather considerable." The Goblin replies much to Harry's surprise. "We only do this for the ten riches wizards and witches around the world. And you are at the top of those."

"I'm what?" Harry asks surprised, he knew that his little gold Mountain was larger than the Weasley's money by far, but this is ridiculous. "Are you sure?"

"Of course mister Potter." The goblin replies, "At least if your letter is correct and you are engaged and about to be a father."

"My fiancé Draco is pregnant." Harry confirms, "What does that have to do with it though."

"That means you now have full excess to your inheritance." The goblin explains, and Harry remembers that Draco had said something along those lines. "Your grandfather left a sizable fortune to your father, who in turn left it to you. The vault you had so far was only a trust vault created by him in your name. On top of that, your godfather has left you most of his money and only a small fraction goes to his friend Remus Lupin. Add to that the 7 wizards and witches that died childlessly and wanted to give their inheritance to the boy-who-lived who have passed since you defeated the Dark Lord the first time. That alone would guarantee you a place in the top ten, or rather, the top spot. On top of that however we used your letter and the magic left on it, something most wizards don't even know is that a small trace of your magic is left on everything you have direct contact with, wizards can't trace it, but we can. Either way, we found out that you are also a legit heir to the Prince line. The Prince vault was left untouched until there would be a child with two magical parents who comes from that line who also would marry or had married a pureblood. Seems like the last possible heir had a muggle father and the one before obviously had married said muggle. The old head of the family despised those, which is why his inheritance passed by his only daughter and her son, who I'm afraid isn't Mister James Potter, meaning you have a different father. We couldn't trace him yet though."

"I found out about that yesterday." Harry replies, "But doesn't that affect my inheritance from the Potter side?"

"You were born during the marriage and due to that you are still considered his heir." The Goblin explains.

"Thank you," Harry replies surprised. "Is it possible then to already have a trust vault for my unborn child? I don't even know if it's a boy or a girl."

"No problem." The Goblin replies, "How much would you like in it?"

"I have more than my parents had, right?" Harry asks.

"More than ten times as much." The Goblin confirms.

"In that case twice as much as I had." Harry replies, "And I would like to leave my money in equal amounts to my fiancé Draco and my child should anything happen to me."

"I will prepare the necessary papers right away." The goblin replies taking out a parchment and quill and starts writing. Harry lets him finish and signs it after reading it quickly and then asks, "Is it possible that you get me some of my gold? I still need to get an engagement ring for my fiancé."

"After reading that part of the reason you needed our assistance and advice is due to the need for a ring, we looked through your vaults and moved all your belongings into one vault for convenience. During that, we noticed that the family rings that are used by the Potters, as well as the Prince family, are both still in their Vault. I brought them in case you'd like to use them and simply weren't informed of that any more than your wealth." The Goblin replies and takes out a large box with at least twenty rings in it adding, "I also took the liberty to bring all the other rings that are down there. We thought one of those might be to your satisfaction. If not we could get some from jewellers to be seen and buy whichever you prefer in your name. It's a service we provide for the top ten, however, it does come at a price."

Harry is thoughtful for a moment before he says, "Can I also give a few others the right to enter my vault and take money from it to buy things for me?"

"Of course." The goblin replies, "You can give the right to take as much as he or she wants without permission to one other person and you can always write a letter to us and give it to anyone who should take something for you. We will give them the exact amount stated in it."

"Can the person who has full rights do the same?" Harry asks.

"Yes, that would be possible." The goblin replies, "Usually a wife or husband has the right."

"I would like to already have Draco able to access it any time he needs something." Harry replies, "I can write Molly Weasley or Miss Malfoy to get something I believe and there are others I would trust too."

While the goblin writes the necessary papers for Harry to be signed Harry is thoughtful and eventually asks, "You said I was already the richest before I got the Prince inheritance, right?"

"Yes, easily." The goblin replies.

"How much money came from there," Harry asks further.

"The old Lord Prince was one of the ten richest at his time, though at the end of the spectrum." The Goblin replies.

Harry nearly gasps hardly able to imagine how much money that must mean he has. He takes a deep breath and then says, "I wish that the Prince fortune goes to Severus Snape. He is my biological father and it should have gone to him in the first place. Just, will he hear that I gave it to him? He doesn't know that I overheard him talk about it recently."

"If he questions where all that comes from when he goes there next, he will be told. We have to inform our clients if they request about what goes in and out and where it goes or came from." The Goblin replies. "Do you still wish to give it to him?"

Harry sighs and replies, "I guess it can't be helped that he'll know. But please do move it to his vault. It should be his."

"Of course." The Goblin replies.

After everything is signed and discussed Harry goes to the library. He is already a little late since the walk up and down all those stairs from one room to the other already took a good bit of time. Adding to that the time it took the goblin to write everything he had to write down and for Harry to read it before he signed it, the meeting took way longer than their last class would have. Harry rushes to get to Draco in case he already worries and on his way he runs right into Snape who immediately starts to lecture him about running around the hallway and also takes 20 points for it. Clearly in a foul mood.

Seeing how the man will hear about it eventually Harry decides to spin a little lie into the details and as an added bonus, it might distract Snape from ranting. "Your Grandfathers inheritance will be moved to your vault."

Snape stares, shocked into silence for a moment before he frowns asking, "Why would that be and how would you know?"

"Goblins can apparently trace someone's magic from anything we touch and find out our bloodline from that. Don't ask me how they do that but they knew that apparently I'm the first child from that line with two magical parents who is marrying a pureblood. Though I'm also not sure what I have to do with that line. Draco mentioned that your mother was from it and so I asked them for a possible relation to you." Harry explains. "Turns out the money came from your grandfather. I neither want nor need the money from an egocentric pureblood fanatic and you have more right to it. So I moved it to you."

It is silent for a moment until Severus' icy voice asks, "Have you lost your bloody mind? Do you have any idea how much money we are talking about? I'm working and I'm able to earn enough to support myself easily. You, on the other hand, are still a student and apparently have a child on the way and a whole family to support. How will you do that when you give away your money so easily?"

"I'm already way richer than your grandfather ever was." Harry calms while the older man stares at him. "I don't need his money. Now if you excuse me. Draco is probably getting worried." Once he said that he just slips by the still shocked looking Professor and runs off again. He nearly expects to hear Snape shout after him that he is losing further points for running yet again but it stays silent.

A moment later Harry is in the library, slightly out of breath. "Where were you?" Draco grumbles.

"I got a surprise for you." Harry grins happily at Draco. "It does include that I talked to Dumbledore and that Dobby knows where your new rooms are. Want to check them out?"

Authors Note:

Thanks for reading this story so far and please leave a review. Do you like the twist that Harry is the son of Severus? It wasn't really essential for this story but I just like giving Severus a family and that way the baby can have at least one nice grandfather! Though, I might let Lucius redeem himself at some point if you rather have him nice? Let me know what you think about that as well, please! And what do you think about their wedding? Should it be a normal muggle wedding or a magical binding ritual that is more or less unbreakable? And would you want Harry and Draco to have a stronger bond than so far due to Vela blood or something? After all, Harry was obsessive about him and protective after hearing what had happened so it would make sense that they find some form of unbreakable bond already right?

Let me know what you think should happen. I pretty much finished writing this. (seven chapters and a bonus) I could change things but I don't think I will, but I would like to know what you think should happen! Who knows, I might even like your ideas better than my own!
