Well it's finally finished. Thankyou to every who read and reviewed and enjoyed it. Hope you like how it ends.

They picked up Jenny later that day, Rose making sure the Doctor was especially careful with the controls so that they definitely arrived only a few hours after they had left. She really did not want to have to deal with another one of the Doctor's mistakes.

"You ready?" the Doctor asked her, swinging their clasped hands between them as the TARDIS made the familiar sound that indicated she had landed.

"Yep," Rose replied, grinning up at him. They stayed there for just a moment more, Rose giving herself time to enjoy the Doctor's sincere smile and the pressure of his hand in hers. Of course, in a few seconds they broke out of their mutual silence and bounded down the ramp towards the doors, racing each other all the way.

When they opened the door Jenny was already outside, holding Mickey's hand and watching the police box intently. They must have rushed out when the TARDIS' distinctive noise could be heard in the garden. Jenny broke away from Mickey and rushed forward, seeming not to know whether to go to the Doctor or Rose and therefore deciding to just run at both of them in equal measure. Between them they managed to grab her and lift her up, all three of them tangling their arms together in a close hug.

"Miss us, did you?" the Doctor laughed, lifting Jenny into the air until she was looking down at him, little face framed by her blonde curls.

"Miss 'ou Daddy, miss Wose too." The Doctor tickled her with his fingers and Jenny giggled, wriggling around until Rose was almost certain the Doctor was going to drop her. He threw her in the air instead, catching her deftly before handing her over to Rose. Jenny wrapped her arms tightly around Rose's neck and Rose smelled her hair as she hugged her. Right now, with Jenny in her arms, she knew for certain that she had made the right decision. She had a family again, and she could not have been happier.

Jenny twisted around all of a sudden, searching for the Doctor who had stepped forward to greet Mickey. "Daddy, Daddy! Thatha and Mickey did painting!"

"Yeah, we had to wash her afterwards, she got paint just about everywhere but she seemed to enjoy it."

"Did painting, did you?" the Doctor asked, grinning as Jenny toddled forward and dragged him by his hand to go and see the masterpieces she had created.

"I'll put the kettle on," Martha said with a grin, following the Doctor inside. Rose looked after them with a smile, before suddenly becoming aware that Mickey was staring at her with a familiar look on his face.

"Go well, did it?" Mickey asked casually, though Rose could see the mischief in his eyes and knew that he was trying to make her blush.

"Extremely well, thankyou," she replied just as nonchalantly, folding her arms and raising her eyebrows in an expression that said she was perfectly happy with the way things had gone, but also that she was not, under any circumstances, going to tell him anything.

Of course, with Martha it was a different story.

"How was it?" Martha asked as she placed a mug of tea in front of Rose. Mickey had had to go in to check something out for UNIT again, and the Doctor was putting Jenny to bed in the TARDIS, so Rose and Martha had the chance to talk in private. "I would've been called in too if it weren't for him," - Martha pointed to her stomach and Rose grinned – "now I get excused from these sorts of things. It's brilliant, you can get people to do all sorts of things for you when you're pregnant. Anyway, go on. I bet he had something pretty spectacular lined up if I know him."

"Oh he did." Rose quickly told Martha all about Paris and the perfection of the date and Jack's advice about cleavage which had been quite successful when put in practice.

"And what happened when you got back?"

Rose pressed her lips together and pretended to be thinking, but she could feel the colour rising to her cheeks and Martha's smug smile showed that she already knew.

"Oh my god, you did, didn't you? Ha, that's brilliant. I would ask, but I reckon that's probably a bit weird."

"Oh, just a little bit." Rose grinned and took a sip of tea.

"But seriously, was it good? Don't give me the gory details, just a yes or no will do."

"Oh yes." Nodding, Rose felt some images floating back into her mind and smiled. "Very good."

Martha pressed her lips together and raised her eyebrows, and that was all it took for Rose to bury her head in her hands and collapse into giggles. Martha joined her, and that was of course the exact moment that the Doctor chose to make his reappearance.

"Oh, not again," he moaned as Rose caught sight of him and threw her head back, laughing even harder as Martha held her sides. "I'll be in the TARDIS when you're through laughing at me."

The way he stuffed his hands into his pockets and slouched out of the room like a dejected puppy, bottom lip stuck out in what was definitely a sulky pout, made them laugh even harder, and by the time Rose was coherent again her tea was going cold and she knew that it was time they were heading off.

"You'd better make sure you get back here before this one arrives," Martha told Rose as they returned to the garden, hands on her rounded stomach.

"Oh definitely, even if I have to get the TARDIS to do something about it."

The two women hugged, and Rose walked to the TARDIS door as the Doctor said his goodbyes to Martha. They stepped inside and Rose felt a twinge of sadness. Martha was such a good friend, and it was difficult to leave her behind and know that it could be a long while before they saw each other again.

"Don't worry, we'll be back again soon." Rose looked up to see the Doctor pressing some buttons on the console. He was not even facing her, how did he manage to understand what she was thinking and feeling without even seeing her expression. Maybe he just knew her too well. Or maybe it was because he felt the same way. She could never quite tell which it was.

He span around towards her, and Rose could tell that at this moment he definitely felt the same way. She crossed quickly to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. He hugged her tightly, and Rose rested her head against his chest. Just the feel and smell of him was so comforting. He pulled away and smiled down at her, his brown eyes wide and warm as they looked into her own.

"Come on, I think it's time for another trip, don't you?"

Rose opened the door and laughed incredulously. All around her, in every colour she could imagine, as far as the eye could see were-

"Roses? A planet covered in roses? Seriously?"

"No, of course not," the Doctor shot back, dismissing this suggestion with a wave of his hand, "only 74% of the planet's surface is roses, the rest in dedicated to daisies and marigolds."

"Of course, how silly of me." The Doctor shrugged, smiling to let her know he was teasing her, before telling Jenny that she should not touch the stems of the flowers as she would hurt her hands. Of course, being the Doctor's daughter, she had to try it for herself before she could make up her mind, and ran to Rose with a hurt finger that Rose quickly kissed better.

"Should've come to me Jenny, I'm the Doctor after all," the Doctor said casually.

"Ah yes, but you see Jenny," Rose said, looking the toddler straight in the eyes though her words were mostly for the Doctor's benefit, "when Daddy kisses it better it doesn't always stop hurting straight away, does it? It always does when I do it." Jenny nodded, though Rose suspected Jenny would have agreed with anything she had said.

Rose stood up and gave Jenny a gentle push to indicate she could go off and play again, noticing the Doctor sidling over to her. "I'm sure you've never had a problem with my kissing skills before, Rose," he murmured in her ear," I'm sure I could give you a refresher now, if you want."

"Not in front of the baby, Doctor," Rose said, tapping him lightly on the nose before raking a hand through his hair. She promptly stepped away from him after that, giving him an innocent smile with her tongue poking out just a tiny bit.

"Tease," the Doctor hissed grumpily.

Rose did not dignify that statement with a reply, though she did wiggle her hips slightly more than usual as he walked over to Jenny and tried to explain that the flowers were called roses. Jenny seemed to find the fact that Rose had the same name as the flower quite amusing.

"Flower wose," Jenny said, pointing at the white flowers. She then pointed to Rose and said "Daddy's Wose."

Rose blinked. "I'm sorry?"

The Doctor's eyes had widened and he quickly grabbed Jenny's hand and distracted her with some more flowers, looking in the opposite direction.

"Did Jenny just call me "your Rose"?"

"Um, I didn't really hear her."

"Oh yes you did. She pointed at the flowers and said "flower rose", then she pointed at me and said "Daddy's Rose", like that was how she could tell them apart."

The Doctor rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Well, I might've referred to you as that occasionally, she picks up on more than you think." He leaned down towards Jenny and muttered out of the corner of his mouth. "See what you've got me into now. We really need to work on you knowing when to stop talking." Jenny simply laughed and ruffled the Doctor's hair with her tiny hands.

Rose sighed, hands on her hips. To tell the truth, she was slightly amused at the thought of the Doctor talking to Jenny about her and being betrayed by his tiny daughter. She felt a pang when she realised that he must've referred to her like that a lot, and that he had most likely been talking about her to Jenny before Rose had returned to him. The Doctor told Jenny stories of his adventures, she knew, and the idea of him telling his daughter about her and the adventures they had made Rose feel simultaneously pleased and sad.

"You're mine as much as I'm yours," Rose grumbled.

"Oh yeah?" the Doctor asked, good-naturedly teasing as they watched Jenny amble about through the flowers.

Rose stood squarely in front of him, eyes direct and slightly glazed, and said, in a voice that was not quite her own, "I want you safe, my Doctor, protected from the false god."

The look of shock on the Doctor's face was priceless, and Rose broke into giggles.

"You said you didn't remember any of that!"

"Well I didn't at first," Rose said, "but I told you bits started coming back to me, and that was one of them. Let's face it; you were mine way before I was yours."

The Doctor opened his mouth to argue, before shoving his hands in his pockets and smiling gently at her. "Yep. I suppose I was."

"Exactly." Jenny was standing in front of Rose with her arms outstretched, just as she had done weeks ago when they had first been left on their own together. Rose scooped Jenny up and held her close, thinking about all that had happened since then and how she would not change one tiny moment of it.

"My Wose now," Jenny said possessively, patting Rose's cheek.

The Doctor looked scandalised and began to protest.

"Oi, calm down you," Rose commanded, shifting Jenny on her hip and stroking her hair. "I'm sure I've got enough time for both of you. Honestly, you're worse than she is."

"Like father like daughter," the Doctor said sagely, his arm sneaking around Rose's waist as he spoke.

He leaned his head against hers and they stared out over the fields of flowers, Jenny snuggling into Rose's chest and falling into a doze as they stood together. Rose turned her head slightly and pressed a kiss to the Doctor's cheek. "That daughter of yours sure does sleep a lot."

She felt his lips curve into a smile. "Our daughter now," he reminded her.

Rose blinked for second. "Oh yeah, forgot about that." Suddenly she was very conscious of the weight of the little girl in her arms. She tensed up a little and the Doctor gently turned her until they were facing each other, concern on his face.

"Are you still sure about this?" He lifted Jenny from Rose's arms and placed her softly in the long grass, where she continued to sleep without a care in the world. The Doctor turned back to Rose. "Don't be worried or anything, we'll be fine and great, well, better than great actually, fantastic's really the best word for it, and we can worry about the future when it happens, I mean, it's going to turn up at some point, that's kind of how it works, but whatever happens we can work it out, you know, the two of use, the three of us now I suppose, and-"

"Doctor?"

"Mmm?"

"Shut up and kiss me?"

"Oh right, yes." Rose smirked at the sudden realisation on his face, and he leaned in to kiss her sweetly and softly, still managing to speak volumes even though his babbling had ceased. He drew her to him until they were pressed against each other, missing the beautiful sunset of an alien planet while they were lost in one other.

Rose pulled away to gasp for breath, resting her forehead against the Doctor's.

"Having fun?" the Doctor asked her cheekily, a cocky grin making itself known on his face.

Rose rolled her eyes, grabbing him by the lapels as he continued to smile. "Shut up."
