Scorpius Malfoy slowly peeked around the corner. His quarry sat stretching in sun, unaware of being observed. With the greatest of care, the eighteen month old snuck into the room. In his quietest whisper, "Here Kitty, Kitty" while his pudgy, little fingers moved in a grabby motion.

Crookshanks, the kitty in question, looked at the small child and sighed. He was getting too old for this nonsense. A bit slower now, Crooks stood to the surprise of the boy. "Yeah Kitty! Here!" The cat took one look at the pudgy, little, grabbing fingers, before shuddering and turned the other direction. As the cat slowly sauntered away from the child, with his tail high in the air, the child scowled, "No Kitty! Here!" His face contorted a bit more and he stomped his foot in anger.

Hermione, also in the room enjoying the sun opened her mouth to again tell her son to leave Crooks alone, was shocked when the kneazle went flying to Scorp's outstretched hands. The cat, more surprised that his witch, didn't move as the pudgy, little grabby fingers gripped him tightly in a hug. "Kitty!" Scorp crooned and swung himself and the cat in a circle.

Draco, who sent the boy into the sun room, entered with his and Hermione's newborn daughter in time to see Crookshanks's unexpected flight. A bright smile crossed the older wizard's face at the display. Quickly handing his daughter off to his wife, Draco turned to his son and hugged him. The cat, who thought the older wizard was on his side, glared until those same pudgy, little grabby fingers started to loosen and then let him go. Draco nodded quickly to the cat who took the hint and made his escape from the boy. The cat moved toward the closest exit while the wizard kept the child's attention.

"Good job Mate! Your first bit of accidental magic!" Crooks shook his head as he left the room, it was only the beginning.

A/N - Hello, thought I'd post this little drabble. Not sure if the scene will ever show up in anything else, but anything's possible. That said, I've given myself a deadline and will start to post year 3 on Halloween. Seemed slightly appropriate. Anyway, the must showed up for that story again and we did quite a bit over the last week. I hope to have it totally finished before I start posting, but if not I will be close. I will post a notification on year 2, so if you've followed that one, you'll know when I get the new story up.

As always, I am in awe of all who read and enjoy the odd way my mind works. Hugs!
