CHAPTER 18- She's His
Draco climbed up towards the very end of the stall. It was a perfect weather for Quidditch indeed, yet, he does not care for that, it wasn't his house's game anyway. He has three reasons why he even bothered, one was because he wanted to watch whatever strategy Gryffindor has. Two, he also wanted to make fun of the failures he might witness. And lastly, he has a witch to secretly watch over.
The chilly wind of November was hitting his face, fanning all his strands away and causing such ruckus to his poised state. He found himself annoyed and frigidly robotic, if it wasn't for his reasons, he would gladly skip such boring game.
He followed Blaise's lead across the screaming crowd. They both agreed to watch and observe the game, seeing that Gryffindor is their toughest rival. Yet, unbeknownst to Blaise, he is wondering where she is. It is the game between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor and she has to be there. Knowing her obvious support to her Gryffindor friends, he knows she would watch and would probably wear her infamous extra ordinary hand made garments to show support. And so his eyes decided to join his mind with locating her, looking for a head with long blonde locks and bizarre accessories.
"If you're looking for Luna, she's the Temporary Commentator. You're welcome" He halted just to give Blaise's smirking face a sneer.
"Well, who says I'm looking for her? Quite a seer you are" He leaned his chin down to his knuckles haughtily, his head moving slowly-so that nobody would notice, to his left towards the Commentary Stall. As to be expected, Luna Lovegood is in it, her arms wrapped around a hat that looks like a handcrafted lion. There was some sort of jealousy happening inside his stomach, the thought of her, supporting Neville Longbottom's house makes him want to wrap his hands around his neck and just choke him, then he would punch him on the gut-
"Draco, quit fantasizing about Luna and place your fuckin' eyes infront" He groaned in frustration, completely annoyed that Blaise actually found out where his eyes were. He rolled his 'guilty as charged' pair and forced his head to stay glued on Potter's team. It aroused the annoyance inside him, watching the golden boy as he roam around the grounds like he owns the place.
"And last but not the least, Harry Potter from the Gryffindor team! This is certainly going to be a great game! And- Oh it's so cold outdoors, is't it? Please do make sure the colnergies wouldn't lay their toes on you! Those pesky invisible creatures would make you sick-" From the crowd, he heard almost all of them snicker. It was such a random choice to have Luna Lovegood as a commentor, yet for his part, he felt proud of her. She is probably the most epic and best commentator in terms of not actually having a care on how the sport facilitates.
He let himself close his eyes and savour the words that she is speaking. He realized that he misses her rubbish weird creatures and of course, mostly, her voice. That lazy melodic tone that she has- that soothing tone only she could effortlessly master. He bathed to the captured moments his memories could register, those with her smiles and words. She affects him in every way she does not know and that irks and troubles him somehow.
And so he tried to concentrate on what is happening in the game like he usually does. Trying his hardest not to make the dreamy voice distract him.
As far as he tried to focus on the game, it didn't help that he already knew which house would win.
""And that's Smith of Hufflepuff with the Quaffle. He did the commentary last time, of course, and Ginny Weasley flew into him, I think probably on purpose, it looked like it. Smith was being quite rude about Gryffindor, I expect he regrets that now he's playing them oh, look, he's lost the Quaffle, Ginny took it from him, I do like her, she's very nice. ..." Everybody laughed at Luna's honest words. Completely weirded but at the same time, entertained with her blunt statement. Despite being in the game, Smith turned his head and glared angrily, whilst Ginny smiled warmly at her bestfriend's bubbly nature.
"Poor Zacharias, he must be suffering from loser's lurgy" she added, completely oblivious of the man's raging anger. Draco snorted with disbelief, he doesn't know if she took it from his attitude or if it was the same honest Luna that was speaking. He doesn't mind though, since she is still weird and strangely beautiful like that. He laughed a little, observing her with a long look and then back at the flaming Smith. Observing him as he felt his gut clench uneasily. Clearly, the boy can't take her words as a friendly humor.
The game continued fastly, with Gryffindor ahead with ten points from Hufflepuff. Half of the students that were watching including himself, actually enjoyed Luna's way of commenting, while the other half did not. According to their face-palmed faces, they clearly did not want to hear the strange creatures lingering inside Luna Lovegood's life.
". . . but now that Hufflepuff player's got the Quaffle from , her, I can't remember her name, it's something like Bibble ' no, Buggins! and oh look! There's a bludger c-'" Because of being too caught up with Zacharias, the bludger was too quick, Draco was caught unprepared and unable to follow where it went to. There was a pregnant pause on his part when he immediately traced it's way, his eyes widening with realization.
He stood up and let his feet carry him to where it was destined to go. His eyes were only fixed on the girl who was frozen on her spot, slowly but much more faster than his legs, the bludger went directly to the stall that Luna's occupying.
"Luna!" he shouted, his heart racing and feet running sloppily. He stood dead in his track as the bludger came crashing hard on Luna's abdomen. On his expertise with Quidditch, he knows that a bludger is too fragile to survive even the slightest of bumps, it can crash as long as it would have any signs of contact on something. Thus, on the aftermath, it pushed through Luna and her body turned with her back digging dangerously on the edge of her box.
Everything went chaotic, the loud gasps and fast footsteps running to Merlin knows where were ringing loudly on the open fields. Without the control of the moment, Luna's arms were thrown up to the air, one of her foot was raised, her knee on waist height and the other was just waiting for it's turn to defy whatever gravity that was keeping her safe from falling.
Before anyone could even blink, whilst the intensity of her accident, the foot that was keeping her on the ground slipped.
It was as if she was the only thing he can see, and so he run fast, faster than how he would ever run. It's the only thing that he can do. He tries to blame McGonagall but she appears to be doing her best. Without their wands and everything, they were hopeless.
Damn it to that person who had set a fire on Professor Snape's cloak a few years ago.
"I got her" a man's voice alerted everyone, but it felt like it was addressed to him
Puffing out a huge chunk of breath, he furrowed his eyebrows and closed his eyes. As much as how he hates to admit it, his worry lessened, knowing how Potter would never let Luna down.
Never before did he become thankful to see Harry Potter save the day.
Draco felt relief as he watches him float around with his broomstick with so much speed of a trained Quidditch player. Just before the girl could make a contact with the ground, he grabbed her by the waist and cradled her inside his arms.
He was inside the Room of Requirements when he had heard that she was alright. With that, he heaved a big sigh of relief. That incident made him lose his grip with himself, he went ballistic, his entire being shook with rage and all that was foreign. Somehow, he felt as if his heart nearly sunk. She grew in his life, some root that crept far too deep in the ground. Merlin knows what he would have done if something awful would have happened. That Smith kid had already felt what he wanted to come across. That one blow was enough to prove it- much to his dismay.
He hardly cares if that oaf would stay a bit longer in his stupid cot, or if he got a suspension for hitting that buffoon, he deserves more than that blow. Fuck, if only Blaise and Pansy did not stop him.
Puffing out the anger out of his system, he bathed again to the news that she's alright.
That time when she was falling and the way Potter saved her made him realize that she doesn't need him, nor will he ever be, of any worth in Luna Lovegood's life. He craved her, ache for her, truly missing her more than he could possibly and probably admit. Yet, he must stop himself for wanting such thing.
"Draco?" His ears awakened by the sound of her voice. He cannot hardly believe it, it was wrong. She cannot be there. It must be a hallucination, yes he is under the impression that he might be turning insane. There was no way-he cannot permit her to be around him right now, not when he is in deep need of controlling his yearning of her presence.
"Draco?" He turned sharply- alarmed, sheepish.
Upon seeing him, she lifted the sides of her lips into a smile. It had felt too long since she saw him up close. She thanked the Heavens for giving her another chance to live, to exist.
She glided to him, her eyes were full of relief and gratitude. Whilst she was falling, she felt him there, his aura blazing somewhere in the far distance. Everything was chaotic, her heart had hammered furiously yet his voice ringing her name pounded in her ears. Despite her situation, warmth had wrapped itself around her, she knew he would not let anything happen to her.
There was the same odd feeling inside her stomach whenever she sees him. It was delightful and it also makes her smile. She tilted her head, her expression in-awe. Nothing had ever made her feel that way. And oh dear, she desperately missed him.
"I missed you" She wrapped her fingers around his arm, the electric delight spasming inside their bodies.
It made her breath hitch when he leaned closer, his eyes seemingly desperate, seemingly craving. She guessed her words were reflecting for him too.
She stared caught to his lips, his arching lips caressing, tempting to close the space between them, pulling her close. She gladly gave in, an accident smile sporting upon her face.
When hers met his, a deep groan could be heard from Draco's throat. Their souls met in that middle crossing where good and bad weren't two separating worlds. Where there was no Death Eaters and Dumbledore's Army.
He brought his arms and wrapped them around her bottom to seize her up. Limbs around her frame, cradling her inside two cages of comfort. He was trying to raise her from all the guilt, trying to protect her like he should have done.
Once being removed from the floor, she cannot help but grin to their kiss, which he did not resist but to give one in return. She was unguarded, and so was he.
She then, wrapped her hands on the back of his head, pulling his lips closer, making her believe that it wasn't just a dream. That he was there, kissing her as if he had nothing left to keep from her.
He slipped his tongue upon hers, enveloping her with warmth. The safety he wished he could have had given her.
His hand slowly and enticingly made it's way to the hem of her shirt, pulling it up to expose the pale flesh underneath. His smooth fingers awakened such want she never thought she even have. Was it possible for one human to feel so greedy? So vulnerable yet awakened by the touch of another life form?
She tilted her head to expose her neck to him, giving him permission to access her arch.
Yes, yes it was. She missed him. She ached for him.
He indulged happily as he trailed hot kisses on her exposed skin, nuzzling and leaving love bites in-between. She was a palace hidden from the tainted society. He was a wandering king marking a newfound place his'.
As his lips leave soft memories to her neck, his hand wander on the smooth skin of her tummy, climbing pass her ribcage; his touch making her skin shiver with goosebumps. Exciting every pore and awakening every feeling.
"Draco" Luna laid her hand at the top of his and let him pull the clothing off of her. She feels as if she was burning, her skin tingling with the craving that is embodied as Draco Malfoy.
"Do you trust me?" When her hand met his, Draco stopped and stared to her eyes. There was warmth and reassurance inside them, making her heart melt and at the same time, pound loudly in her ears.
"I never stopped trusting you, Draco"
"You're mine Luna, please remember that" He stole her innocence slowly and gently like how she is worth to have. Luna was indeed beautiful against the shadows of his own body. It was the first time he would ever look at a partner when they partake such private act, but with Luna, he never seem to want to close his eyes. Whether she would stare dreamingly at him, or when her eyes would darken with passion and want, he did not had the want to cease staring at her. He slid home inside her warmth. His demons quitted down and were left stunned with her welcoming soul.
He felt replenished. Comforted with the notion that he was not alone. As if he had just found water in a desert he had traveled for far too long. Her smile, her lips, her skin were water for his thirst.
And in that moment he knew he had just made love for the first time.
Luna Lovegood makes him go weak on the knees.
He laid his head on the pillow the room had provided and wrapped his arms around Luna's naked skin. She was even more beautiful when she was like that, hair in disarray, skin bare with only a blanket wrapped around her, eyes dreamy, out of earth's reach.
Everything about her makes him fall for her harder.
She stared smiling at him, her hand rested on his heart and the other one held inside his hand "That was beautiful Luna" his voice was raspy, that tone that makes all the witches stare and think not so innocent thoughts about him. Luna blushed and giggled to his confession, her arm pulling his lips closer to hers, planting a chaste and heartfelt kiss "That was indeed beautiful"
He watches her as she fell asleep next to him, her lips formed to a smile as she breathes from her nose. It fascinates him how she still remained innocent after he had taken it from her. And with that, it was so hard to stop thinking about their situation. Yet strangely, in that moment, he felt so content and at ease.
That night fell asleep without any nightmares. Instead of the dark, foggy dreams he usually encounters, he dreamt of the girl laying next to him. No harm, no hurt, it was just full of her.
Yeah, call me a pervert now. But please bare with me, things that's been happening inside the story would play a huge role.
Like you know, Draco' and Luna's feelings increased, and stuff like that..
Also, another author's note that is needed to be readed: I won't be updating starting today because our exam's would be next week and my parent's would probably won't allow me to use the internet (I might check stats but I'm afraid I won't do any writing)
And please, pretty please review :)!
