Chapter 33 There's Something Going On
1. Is called L'hymne à L'amour by Édith Piaf
2. The description is my wand from Pottermore XD
The wolf released her from his grip harshly as she went falling from his hand, luckily Draco was stronger, so he held her tight by the arm and lets go of her gently, to fall to the ground. She fell dramatically to the dark and as she sits back, she leaned her head to the pillar behind her, looking at the death eaters hopelessly, savouring the light as the thought of long term prisoning stuck in her mind.
She closes her eyes as she heard the dungeon door close upon her. There was a long silence that she shared with nobody in particular, unconsciously humming through her mouth. 1"Peu m'importent les problèmes. Mon amour puisque tu m'aime" she kept on repeating the same line over and over again, humming the French ballad as she absentmindedly stared at the slightly dark ceiling above her.
"What a wonderful voice you have, child" she had heard a man's voice somewhere from her right. She stood up from her spot and opens her hands like she was playing the open/close thing like a child, unshamelessly trying to look for the man that may be her dungeonmate.
For a few seconds of looking, she finally tapped a head and the man in question yelped in response. 2"sycamore wood, twelve inches and one-forth, phoenix feather core, suprisingly swishy. I cannot be mistaken, you're Luna Lovegood" she adjusted her eyes as she bowed down to stare straight to the old man's eyes. The man with gray hair smiled at her with kindness, as if they had already met before- "Mr. Ollivander?" she exclaimed in realization. Because of her shock, it resulted her to lean at the pillar that the man is currently resting on, and slid down next to him. She feels so guilty to be relieved that she was not alone. The realization of the great man spending his time alone, tending his wounds from his tortures in the cold place was very- well, it can make her insane; if she does have enough of sanity left.
She shifted on her spot, trying to find a good position as she absentmindedly put her hand to her tummy. She can feel that it began to now, she is regretting that she didn't ate anything inside the train. If only she knew that she would be snatched! "My child! Are you?-" Ollivander opened his mouth to speak about her actions, but then, it was cut of by the dungeon door opening right above them.
"I won't let you hurt the child!" the weak man shouted, ending up into a coughing fit. "Oh it's alright, Mr. Ollivander. You have suffered enough" she nodded weakly to the man next to her, assuring him that she wouldn't back down without a fight; and that, she was also braver than how she looks.
"But you don't understand! You're-" the man was, again, been cut off as Luna gasped when a familiar face appeared at the bottom of the marbled staircase. She stood up and attacked Draco into one of her sweet hugs, one that where he would hold her tight in return. "I'm sorry" he whispered as she closed her eyes to inhale Draco's scent. He once dreamt about her visiting the manor, but then, not like this. His dream was so far from this. "You're manor is indeed lovely but too big and lonely. Someday, I would like to hang tons of mistletoes to each and every doorstep, in that way, nargles would leave your home at last! Would that be alright?" she muttered through the fabric of his dark cloak. He closes his eyes, imagining that day that she would go round and round in the manor with nothing on her feet and her night dress to her frame, mumbling things like nargles and wrackspurts as she would hang mistletoes to the manor. It was a refreshing scene to be a part of. It seems as if the manor would somehow, brighten with her here; but not as a 'guest' living in their dungeons.
"Draco-" she removed her head from his chest and tilted her face "-it's not your fault. Don't worry, I have faith in you" it was his turn to tilt his head to her. He wasn't sure if he could ever be the good guy even just for one person. He was about to say something bad, or even just sneer at her, but seeing that she was looking at him with her trustful and lovely eyes, he found himself nodding weakly. He would try. Just for her.
"I'll try" he said while giving her a weak smile. Slowly, he released her from his grip and raised his wand. "I brought some dinner, sort of." he mumbled almost as if he wasn't talking to anyone in particular. Luna can see the embarrassed look on his face. She was sure that he still blames himself because of her, being captured. Although, she doesn't know why, she wouldn't blame him. In Harry's version, he was used to being sacrificed for just to be alive, but in Draco's case, everybody blames him for everything that he can't control. She watches Draco's hands as it performed the magic that can resize the small package. As if controlled, she didn't realize that he was already done. She smiles sheepishly when he grins in return, waving infront of her face as he offers her a sandwich.
She took a bit from her slice and munched a piece of it's bread, along with some of the inside. Her eyebrows furrowed. Something inside the sandwich made her cringe, and somehow, makes her want to throw up from the awful taste- or was it the smell?. "Anything wrong?" Draco asked, expressing his concern as he caresses Luna's back. "I'm fine. It's just that-" she closes her eyes and pinches the bridge of her nose. The smell is intoxicating. She can't breathe. It was as if everything is spinning. "She can't have that lad!" Ollivander replied for her, taking the offended food gently from her hands. She smiled gratefully to him in return and gave him her piece.
Draco looked at her in confusion, and most of it was covered with worry. He couldn't point his finger on what Luna is currently feeling, and yes, he wishes that he knew. "Give her some water" Ollivander instructed him and Luna nodded as if it was something that she waited and needed for her whole life. He enlarges a piece of cup from the pocket of his cloak and pointed his wand to it while whispering 'aguamenti'. After looking at her face;glad that nothing has changed ever since she entered the Manor, he passed her the cup and she joyfully drank it without doubt.
"What's happening to her?" he asks as she passes him the used cup. The older man lifted the end of his lip, as if deciding to tell the both of them or not.
Draco groaned and sneered as he waited for a minute but gaining no response. He turned his attention to Luna, bowing his hip so that their head was aligned to one another. "Don't be so worried Draco. It kept on happening for the past few months and now, I'm still alive and sane" he smiles warmly at her hopeful response, and slowly, exhaled through his nose. He cupped her cheek inside his palm while staring through her eyes; as if he was trying to memorize everything about her. She lifted both of the ends of her lips and raises her chin to advance for his lips to meet hers.
"You'll be okay" he whispers against her lips
"I'll be okay" and she assured him in return, smiling as she can feel something in her tummy that began thumping with butterflies.
On the distance, Ollivander watches the young couple from the shadows. He feels that it was not his place to tell them a very important news just yet. He can feel that it was not quite their time, but surely, just by looking at them, he feels that the couple will make it through. He tilted his head, somehow, a content smile forming on his lips.
