Harry Potter
and The Song of Ice and Fire

Westeros, The North
Winterfell, The Courtyard
4th of 3rd Moon 290AC

Here I was I again waiting in a castle's courtyard. The last half-year had been pleasant if you ignore the first month of me telling a life story vaguely based on my life as Harry Potter. But after that, it was actually quite nice to have a family that was so supportive and loving as the Starks. With Ned, he and I got a 'kind of' brother relationship. Cat was like a sister-in-law Ned's four kids became like nephews and nieces and they saw me as an uncle, actually and this is amazing Arya's first word was Uncle, well it was more like "unca" but I take what I can get.

After a week or two, I got the idea too, instead of waiting and then saving the North when it was needed, I could prepare it for the 'apocalypse' in about a decade instead. So that's what I started working on or well-tried to anyway. Don't get me wrong I got things done and while I didn't have that Horcrux in my head anymore giving me serious mood swings, aggressive tendencies, and super ADHD.

I still wasn't the most patient man in the world, not even in the slightest, so I was hoping it would be a little faster but I did actually do something like send for Westerlander surveyors to survey the mountains north of Winterfell and trying to encourage Ned to build a fleet and a harbor at Sea Dragon Point because I thought it was a little weird that there was nothing on a so obviously good and strategic point.

I may have overestimated what a so backwater country could do in a decade but it would at least be summer for the next decade so I wouldn't have to worry too much about snowstorms and snowed down roads and such. But anyway one thing I remembered vividly is that damn Bolton-Dustin-Ryswell alliance Rose Bolton managed to cook up. So here I was trying to end that here and now.

It had taken a bit of time trying to convince Ned to invite the northern lords to a meeting where they were going to discuss the future of the North but I convinced him that it would be a great idea, that in these turbulent times he should discuss with his lords about how they could help each other out and that it would be a good time to talk about betrothals and such. He agreed and the day after he ordered Maester Luwin to send out some ravens to his lords with a summons to Winterfell.

So here I was welcoming Barbrey Dustin the glue that held the Bolton-Dustin-Ryswell alliance together because while Roose Bolton and Bethany Bolton née Ryswell had been married and got Domeric together, she was now dead so until Domeric became lord they weren't in a watertight alliance anymore because marriages were everything in the game of thrones so until Lord Bolton became Lord Ryswell's grandson they were in a very fragile alliance.

Anyway since we had so many guests to welcome I and Ned had to take turns to welcome the guests. So I had gotten Lords Ryswell, Flints of Flint's Finger, Flints of Widow's Watch, Hornwood, Norrey, Forrester, Whitehill, and now Dustin. Meeting the Forrester's again was amusing with all the 'My lord' and stuff.
I had definitely changed from when I lived at the Dursley's, me and the Dursley's never actually made up with each other we just started to ignore each other and then I died and while I was dead Vernon died of a heart attack and Dudley began to live on the streets so I never met him again. The only Dursley I met again was Petunia and that was not a pleasant experience ranting at me that I was responsible for Vernon's death and Dudley's 'misfortune' I said goodbye to her one last time and never saw her again thankfully.

Suddenly a horn threw my thoughts back to this universe again and I turned my attention back to the gate and in trotted a garron while not a beautiful white stallion it wasn't the worst horse I had seen in the time I had been in this world. But my attention wasn't on the horse but rather the rider who coldly stared around the courtyard while her guards formed up around her. Her eyes finally stopped at me and looked into my green eyes. She broke eye contact and she and her entourage dismounted.

She wasn't the most beautiful woman he had met but that was because he had seen and been with Veela so it was kind of an unfair comparison but she was definitely comely with braided dark brown hair, cold dark eyes who looked like they were made of obsidian and a body who many women would be envious of she made quite the striking lady, she was what you would call a northern beauty I thought as I walked up to her.

"Welcome to Winterfell Lady Dustin, I hope the ride wasn't too bad," I said with a courteous smile.

Barbrey POV

The man who I assumed was a steward or something welcomed me. He was maybe one and a half head taller than me with emerald green eyes, messy raven black hair which looked quite handsome, and a lean but strong body to match he was quite the looker, but it wouldn't be enough he needed to at least have some standing and a man from a little house in the North or probably outside considering her liege lord's southron wife.

"Where is Lord Stark?" I asked looking around. He continued smiling courteously and said.
"Harold Stark at your service Lady Dustin," he said with a bow. I blinked and it wasn't often I got surprised but this time I was actually stumped. I had of course heard about the new Stark but there wasn't too much known about how he looked other than that he didn't look like most of the other Starks. He actually looked quite like B... no I can't think like that, he's gone and I am finished with those kinds of thoughts.

While I was married to William it was purely political and we were never anything other than close friends so we never actually did anything and then he died a few months after the wedding. I wasn't a virgin anymore but I was still fertile or so Maester Bernard said (the old corpse) he's definitely over seventy and still kicking, he's nearly as bad as Lord Frey. Anyway I hadn't thought that I would ever do anything like that ever again in my life this Harold Stark got my insides tingling just like Br... he and I wouldn't lie he was quite handsome.

I forced myself to focus on the situation again and replied with "Well Lord Stark I thank you for the warm welcome" I had unconsciously got a ghost of a smile on my face because while I was one and thirty namedays old I still appreciated a handsome smile in my direction and I could actually see in his eyes that he didn't have any kind of dangerous thoughts at least and that was quite comforting considering my other kind of 'admirers'.

He replied with "Well my Lady this is Garret and Harlan they will show you to your room I am sorry but I'm going to have to leave you with them but I, unfortunately, have more responsibilities considering my status as host so I hope you will be okay" I felt a touch of disappointment before quickly shoving those thoughts to the back of mind and said
"I understand, you must be quite busy with how many guests I heard were coming," I said barely managing to keep my voice neutral and emotionless. He nodded and said with finality
"Well I'll see you later today, until then" he spun around and hastily walked to a pair of servants who were frantically trying to get his attention. I looked at his retreating back and thought I wouldn't be averse to getting m... I will not finish that thought not after 'he' died.

The North, Westeros
Winterfell, Great Hall
5th of 3rd Moon 390AC

Harry POV

These Northmen and women should have been banned from getting their hands on alcohol in general, it was definitely a recipe for disaster. We had already eaten and the feast was starting to calm down finally. It was maybe two in the morning and of those that weren't blackout drunk, knocked out, or 'having fun' around the castle. There were quite a few of them.

I could actually count them on two hands and while that wasn't too impressive if I say that there were three hundred feasting guests at the start you may think differently. Well anyway, we have Ned, me, Barbrey(we had become on a first-name basis after a couple of hours of Lord Stark and Lady Dustin), Cat, Ser Rodrik, Lord Roose Bolton, and Lord Howland Reed.

While Cat and Lord Leech had vacated the hall. Ned, Howland, and Rodrik were still nursing some tankards of ale and remembering the month's old squid rebellion, well Howland and Rodrik were reminiscing while Ned absently nodded along while looking distantly, and I was of course the reason for that because I had, of course, managed to force myself into the exclusive club of knowing the truth about Jon Snow or Jaehaerys Targaryen as was his real name because of course Raeghar and Lyanna had married they had to make it even worse than if he had just been a Targaryen bastard.

So Ned was currently having a mental breakdown trying to convince himself that I wouldn't say anything because while he trusted me this was his most trusted secret that only three other living men knew Benjen, Howland, and now me. I managed to 'convince' him with a pledge on my honor and honestly he is the most trusting guy I have ever met like if you promise on your honor he will trust you on at least what you promised. I should really get him to stop doing that and think like that because while I have no plans to betray him that's only me and if he said something wrong and trusted a guy that eventually betrayed him every Stark would be in big trouble like for example a Petyr Baelish or Janos Slynt. I have thankfully a plan for the Mockingbird in place and it's ready to execute when I have time.

But first I will have to finish my current plot this destabilizing of the Bolton-Dustin-Ryswell alliance that totally butt fucked the North in cannon. So here I was using my considerable experience in charming and cutting out the legs of the Bolton-Dustin-Ryswell alliance. And it was ninety percent finished considering the comely Woman on my shoulder telling me very personal things. I would of course never take a woman against her will into my bed because I personally feel it's quite distasteful but a willing woman that's totally different can of worms and it was a quite effective method to well to get the truth and trust of the women at least and it didn't hurt that it was quite relaxing and helped me getting through my 'timeouts' as I call my windows of death.

So here I was guiding my quite beautiful 'friend' to the sleeping quarters of the guests. We stopped at her door and she leaned in and said
"Wow, I haven't felt like this since...sinc..." I could guess who she was talking about and didn't press any further.
"Well, let's try to make something more things to remember," I said flirtingly.

The rest of the night/morning was quite fuzzy but it was definitely quite eventful. When I woke up with a stark naked woman sleeping softly on my chest I was first quite confused before my memories began to return to me and I thought that I haven't liked a woman as much as Barbrey since maybe Ginny, well no maybe Daphne but that was more like love than just liking a girl.

My lasting relationships were quite few and far between because while I had been with lots of women my girlfriends and my one wife were only about three over three centuries first Ginny before she died of a bludger to the head during her last quidditch match before retiring she was only twenty-nine we never married because we were so busy with our own things.

Then there was Daphne of course my only wife she died of old age at the ripe old age of hundred and seven. While I died two times during our marriage she never strayed and when I returned to the life she always waited for me so that was a very love-filled relationship with four kids James, Cygnus, Sirius, and Lily.
And my last girlfriend was named Beatrice who got quite obsessed with me after learning that I was the legend Harry Potter that was quite awkward for me because at the time I had only returned to life and I had gotten a really serious case of culture shock, so seeing that still after nearly six hundred years since my birth I was still getting worshiped as The-Man-Who-Conquered was kind of shocking.

My kids well my 'true-born' anyway had quite successful lives they got married and had kids. James became MoM after Fudge and tried to set the country back on to a stable one but it was immediately destroyed by the next MoM anyway he was quite a successful politician who tried to reduce the corruption and blood-purity issue but he didn't have enough time or resources to that kind of work so the world eventually went to shit but at least he managed to live a somewhat meaningful life before he retired back to the newly discovered Potter manor that I found while looking at my stuff in my vault.

Cygnus became a famous researcher got one child and bought a manor for his branch of the family he was quite reclusive and I never actually found out what he worked on but he was happy and died old. Sirius like his namesake became a real player so his seed of black-haired children followed him where ever he went he got killed by an angry pair of Nundu's in Kongo while he was hunting Lions and such in Africa.

And finally my last child with Daphne Lily. She was quite a wild child and continued with that trend with running away to the Americas as soon as she was finished at Hogwarts. She managed to catch the eye of the current President of the United States and got settled there eventually at least. She died of dragon pox while she was doing some humanitarian work in Africa. She got five children and all of them followed their wild mother and spread out over the world.

I, of course, had more children than them but they were too many to count I, of course, tried to help the ones I found but there weren't too many that accepted I thought proudly. Suddenly Barbrey started to stir. "Where am I..." she started before freezing when she felt what she had been sleeping on.

"Good morning Barbrey," I said she started to freeze up again before relaxing again laying down on my chest and sighing.
"We shouldn't have done that." She said but it felt like her body was having other thoughts because she continued to snuggle into my chest and her hand was even snaking down my body but was unfortunately interrupted by some very prim knocks before Barbrey's maid's voice came through the door
"My Lady your morning bath is ready for you. Can I come in?" Barbrey jumps up from my chest and quickly replies

"No, I will be fine Matilda." The maid acknowledges the command and begins to walk away. Barbrey and I sigh in relief when we hear the maid's steps becoming quieter.
I say "That was a close one." Barbrey nods and starts to pick up her clothes not bothering to cover herself up not that I haven't seen it before but in my now sober mind I realized that her coat that she wore when I first welcomed her didn't do her body justice at all. With quite a large bosom, a respectable behind, and a grown woman's curves she definitely not the worst woman he had lain with. She noticed that I was admiring her body and her cheeks started to redden.

"Well, you should probably get out of here before anyone sees you." I nod and start to pick up my breeches and putting them on. When we were finished with clothing ourselves I walked to the door looked around the corridor and was about to step out when a hand grabbed my forearm and turned me back in towards the room. Suddenly a pair of soft red lips crashed onto my lips and passionately kissed me before retreating again and with an embarrassed but happy expression on her face Barbrey quickly said
"I hope this wasn't the last time we did this," she said with her cute red-tinted cheeks.

I said "Of course not I would never dishonor you by just treating you like a fling. I will of course wed you if you want to of course." I said with using my considerable 'actor skills' as I liked to call it to convince her of my nervousness I actually felt dirty playing her like this but it was for the greater g... Ohh shit I think like Dumbles well at least I won't be as bad as him.
Barbrey looked shocked before throwing herself at me and started to tear up and repeatedly said with a choked-up voice.
"Yes, yes, of course, yes Harry." I blink quite shocked at how easy it was. Then I put my hands around her back and I say "Then I will request a meeting with Ned today and we will discuss it." She just continues to hold onto me before releasing her grip and giving me a goodbye kiss "Thank you," she says before shooing me out of the door before someone sees us.

When I'm walking down the corridor from her door I suddenly see a figure in the shadows of a corner
"Hello, Adrian," I say questioning.
"I bring bad news, my lord," he replies emotionless.
"What happened?" I ask a little disturbed.
"Your spy network in King's Landing has been exposed my lord." my face gains an emotionless expression before saying quietly
"What? By who?" I ask dangerously.

Adrian replies "The Mockingbird he managed to uncover our whole network in King's Landing, he, fortunately, thinks it was the queen's network, but nonetheless, we are back to square one in the capital."

Adrian Sand a Dornish bastard of House Gargalen was in his mid-thirties with black hair amber eyes and a long nose. We first met when he was trying to set up a spy network in The North but I thankfully caught him and convinced him that he could work for me instead as my spymaster, I found out that he had been a 'hobby' spymaster just going around and finding secrets but never managing to do anything about them so our new work relationship became beneficial for both of us he got to find more secrets and I got a competent spymaster. So it worked out.

"What about the bastard plot and the flayed plot are they still on," I say a little desperately he quickly reassures me
"Yes my lord, they're ready to go on your command." He says
"Thank the gods for that, begin them as soon as this gathering is finished, and get me information about Domeric Bolton too." Adrian nods and then slips away.

I sigh thinking that the mockingbird is going to be a pain in the ass with his conniving ways. The problem is that I can't do anything about it because it would have to be an assassination and King's Landing is very far away from here and I, unfortunately, have things that have to be urgently done here in the North so without my spy network ready to break his neck when the time came and it's really irritating I have even more urgent matters to attend to. The first of them is marriage.

When I arrive at Ned's door I get let in by the guards flanking the door. When I walk in I find Ned slumped in his chair with a tired facial expression it recedes a little bit when he sees who his guest is.
"Harry, what are you up here for so early in the morning?" Ned says with a tired voice while trying to sit straight in his chair. I walk up to the chair opposite of him while resting my hands on the mahogany table.

I say in a mirthful voice "Well first of all it's nearly noon and secondly, I have a marriage proposal." At that, I gain Ned's attention.
"A marriage proposal for who?" He says attentively while blinking sleep out of his eyes.
"Between me and Lady Barbrey, we have already agreed to the proposal so now we only need your blessing as my head of the house." Ned again gains a shocked expression before beginning to smile proudly and says.

"I'll do you one better. There are currently two unoccupied castles under my direct control I want you to have one of them." I expected this but puts on an unexpected look that changes to a smile and I say

"Well, that is a very generous offer Ned thank you." Ned continues
"Yes, I imagine you have been quite cooped up here and you have been a real help around here so the least I could do was giving you a castle. So what will it be Moat Cailin in the Causeway or Wolf Harbor at Sea Dragon Point?" This time I gained a shocked expression I didn't think he would allow me to choose but I had already chosen a seat for my family.

"I choose Moat Cailin." Ned nods and says
"Very well I will send some builders there immediately and now we have a wedding to plan don't we Cousin," Ned says excitedly.
"Will the king visit or what?" I ask
"He very well may do that just to give you a gift and visit me" Ned says a little exasperated

"Well, we have to send the customary missive to the king anyway so we shall see if he will arrive at the wedding" the rest of the planning we could do now without Barbrey's supervision was done and I left Ned's study.

Suddenly a little auburn-haired missile shot into me.
"Uncle Harry!" I huff and puff in a joking manner before grabbing the little ball of energy smiling

"Well hello Robb shouldn't you be in your lessons right now?" I say amused. "No me and Jon got to play for the rest of the afternoon said Maester Luwin" he replies very convincingly "So if I go to the Maester asking him that would he know that?" Robb's eyes shot up in a panic manner. "No it's fine you don't need to check that" I look at him with a raised eyebrow before looking around. "Where is little Jon then?" I ask

"We are playing hide and seek and he's the seeker right now. Ohh I have to go fast bye" he said trying to wriggle out of my grip.
"Where do you think you're going, Robb?" Robb freezes with a deer caught in the headlights look on his face.
"I'm goi.." he gets interrupted by a stern voice

"You're going to go back to your studies young man" Cat said suddenly as she rounded the corner at the end of the corridor./p
Robb squeaks and says downtrodden "Yes mother" Cat turns to me and says
"Thank you Harry he is really a little wolfling" I smile and replies
"Of course he is, he's a Stark" Cat began to chuckle and nodded.
"Yes, but he is my little wolf," She said tenderly.
"Well I have things to do. I will see you later" I said with a wave and walked away.

The king was a very big man. Not as fat as he was in the first episode of the tv-show but he was still a big man. With big rounded stomach muscles that were about to be concealed by fat and a long black beard. It was about a month ago that I became Master of Moat Cailin and Lord of the Causeway and was betrothed to Barbrey.

The wedding was taking place tomorrow and that was only because the had come so unexpectedly. It was actually set to yesterday but with a raven from the king we had to push it back a few days unfortunately. But it was quite the honor of getting the king out of King's Landing these days, because he didn't do it often even for Lord Paramounts and especially not just their family but us Stark's definitely had a personal space in Robert's heart because he apparently started to pack up his stuff immediately and went out well he tried to at least but Lord Arryn managed to intercept him before he got to leave the city and gathered up an entourage for him of about a hundred men and women but it wasn't the biggest delay so they made it here before the end of the month.

A white snout pressed into my hand. And of course another interesting thing that happened while we were planning and preparing the wedding was that when I was out with Ser Rodrik hunting some dear I stumbled upon a grey-white direwolf who was promptly named Winter of course in theme of the Stark's hard on for winter, cold and such. He reached up to my chest by the time the king arrived so he was quite noticeable and these suthron flowers were beginning to get nervous.

I put my hand reassuringly on the neck of Winter. Even though he would never disobey or just start trouble all on his own he was the most obedient of the Stark direwolfs even though the others hadn't got any of them yet. Another thing I was preparing for was an expedition to Essos, because I think I have a very solid way of gaining my Stark branch a family sword and maybe I should get some money to upgrade my new castle too. Because while the moat was currently getting renovated and being able to house a family it could do with some upgrades like having at least some defenses to the north.

While I had been thinking and planning king Robert had gotten his introduction up the line and came standing in front of me. And said something very familiar
"So you're the new Stark not just that but even the new Lord of the Causeway and Master of Moat Cailin."
I reply solemnly like a 'true Stark' "Yes, you have the right of it" Robert suddenly snorts claps me on the shoulder nearly throwing me to the ground, and says exasperated

"All you Starks are so solemn the only one that could joke was the wild wolf Brandon good man your cousin was but those fucking Targaryen's took him from you but he was avenged. Those fucking overgrown lizards" I nod again before Robert continues
"Well Ned let me pay my respects and Harold join me too" Ned nods and I say
"As you command your grace" as we begin to walk down to the catacombs
"Ohh please I get enough of that from those damn boot lickers from King's Landing please just call me Robert" He booms
"Well then Robert" I reply with a more informal voice

We arrived in front of the three statues of Rickard, Brandon, and Lyanna Robert said the exact words he said in the tv-show but my attention had been stolen by a single brick on Lyanna's statue's platform because it looked like it was loose and had been moved on since the statue had been made this I have to investigate later. Robert even asked Ned to join him back to the capital but without the obligation of the hand of the king Ned didn't accept and Robert let it go he even tried asking me but I quickly turned him down politely of course. The feast that night was quite uncomfortable with Robert's wandering hands. I went to sleep quite early to be ready for tomorrow.

All sounds tuned out when I saw her. While this was purely a political marriage for me at least I couldn't deny that I had become quite attached to Barbrey. And she looked beautiful in her white dress with her half Ryswell half Dustin cloak over her shoulders walking up to me smiling brightly being led up to me by her father Lord Rodrik Ryswell. The crowd watching was filled with familiar faces like Catelyn, her and Ned's children, Lord Bolton, Barbrey's family, Benjen(surprisingly), Robert his Kingsguard(Ser Barristan Selmy), and the castles courtiers.

Ned was of course officiating the ceremony like tradition and standing there in the middle in front of the weirwood heart tree. Ned begins the ceremony
"Who comes before the Old Gods this night?"
Rodrik answers "Barbrey of the house Dustin and Ryswell, comes here to wed. A woman grown, trueborn and noble. She comes to beg the blessing of the Gods. Who comes to claim her?"
I say "Harold of House Stark, Master of Moat Cailin and Lord of the Causeway. Who gives her?"
Rodrik replies "Rodrik of the house Ryswell, who is her father"
Ned continues "Lady Barbrey, do you take this man?"
Barbrey says with a choked voice "I take this man" Ned nods and gestures to us to kiss each other. It wasn't the longest kiss but it was definitively a passionate one.

The guests cheered where they stood behind us while I and Barbrey walked in front of the procession out of the godswood and to the great hall. It was about 400 guests in the great hall all feasting and drinking merry but I didn't notice too much of that because I was personally enjoying myself up at the high table with my new wife on my right and Ned on my left thankfully mostly blocking out my view of the king and his more disgusting feasting habits.

The feast went on long into the night before a voice called out
"Time for the bedding" the sound in the hall increased tenfold and everybody began to cheer. I looked to Barbrey with a questioning look.
"What do you want to do?" I asked her.
"It's the tradition we should do it" she began "Well I asked you, wife" "I will be fine" I nodded and turned towards the king and nodded he was about to shout out that the bedding was about to commence but I interrupted him "I'm sorry Robert but if anyone touches somewhere inappropriate on my wife or me I will gut you consider this your only warning" Some people retreated to their tables but it was a good 100 men and women that stood ready

"Let the bedding commence" Robert's voice boomed over the hall. And immediately the more daring visitors surged forward. The last thing I thought before I got swallowed by the masses was 'Ohh fuck'.

End of Chapter

The longest chapter yet at about 5400 words. This is my favorite chapter yet and I will change to one long chapter a week instead of two smaller ones I feel it's just better. Lots of bad grammar I'm sure, but English isn't my native language so it will have to be like that, unfortunately. I currently have a poll on my profile about my next story so if you want to vote feel free to. The next chapters will be about the years between 390AC and 398AC.
Thank you for reading.
