Two Worlds Collide: Book I: A New World: Chapter 17: Secrets

-O-

"A secret's worth depends on the people
from whom it must be kept."

-O-

The clock on the wall seemed to circle timelessly as she sat, hunched over, laying her chin on her arms. She had been feeling glum for a few days now, though careful not to show it. She sighed for what seemed liked the millionth time that day. She was all alone in her own house, with both her mother and house maid gone for the day. She didn't have the urge to go out and take advantage of the warm winter day. Her friends had invited her out, but she refused. She didn't want to dampen anybody's mood with her own.

It all started a few days ago when her best friend showed up randomly at her door.

-O-

"Sana-chan, Kamura-san is here to see you!"

Sana raced down stairs, an ear splitting smile adorning her pale features. She landed with a soft thump as she stood in front of her blue eyed friend.

"Hey Nao!" She greeted with her wide grin.

"Hey Sana." The boy replied, slightly less enthusiastic than Sana. She noted the change in his tone but decided to keep quiet to his sudden strangeness.

"What's up?"

He remained quiet for a minute, leaving Sana to raise an eyebrow. He had on his 'thinking face,' and Sana knew that things were serious when Naozumi thought this hard.

"You remember back when we were six, and we 'ran away' just because we could?"

Sana thought back to that day, and embarrassing smile flashed on her face.

"Of course!"

"Remember that promise we made to each other?"

Sana cocked her head to the side, feeling uneasy by Naozumi's sudden trip down memory lane. He seemed… troubled.

"Yeah?" She questioned.

"Just… don't forget it… okay?" He struggled, with a sad smile reaching his lips. But she knew better. Naozumi was hiding something from her… something that she had a feeling would hurt both of them.

"Naozumi… what's going on?" She tried her hardest to keep her voice from quivering.

He released an exasperated sigh. "Sana… I'm leaving."

Her eyes went wide with shock. She had no words to say.

"What do you mean you're leaving? Like moving!?" She asked, almost desperate for answers. This was her best friend. He had been at her side since they were in first grade. He couldn't leave her now when they were almost done with high school.

"No, no. Nothing like that! More like, I'm going on a trip." He smiled, pointing up his finger as if he was about to explain the meaning of all this confusion.

She released a deep breath she hadn't realized she was holding. A smile graced her lips as she felt herself relax.

"Oh! That's not too bad! When will you be back?" She asked.

"Four months." Her eyes went wide once more. He was leaving for four months?

"Four… months?" She whispered back.

"I landed a role, Sana! I'm finally going to make my debut! I signed on to this project and filming starts in a week!" The amount of joy and happiness that radiated from his eyes was enough for Sana to see just how excited her friend was.

A candid smile blossomed on her face.

"Why did you tell me that earlier! That is amazing Nao! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" She cheered in joy as she lunged at him, embracing him for his success.

"You-you're not mad?"

She pulled away, blinking slightly. The burst into a fit of laughter. "Of course not!" She grinned, "Why would you even think that!"

"I just thought you'd be mad because you thought I would be leaving you…" He said, scratching his red cheeks, feeling embarrassed.

"Of course not silly!" She slapped him on his shoulder, causing him to fall over slightly, eyes going wide.

"I'm a little sad because you're leaving me for FOUR MONTHS! BUUUUUUUUT… I know you're going out there to do great things." She shined him her angelic smile.

He smiled at her earnestly.

"Thank you, Sana."

-O-

She would be lying if she didn't admit that it didn't bother her. She wasn't a selfish person. She knew that Naozumi had been working extremely hard to finally get the big break he had been hoping for. And now that the opportunity had finally come along, he would be a fool to reject it. She was happy for her friend; extremely happy. He deserved all that he had worked for, but she was still sad to see him leave. She had been so accustomed to hanging around him that she knew it would be weird to not have him around. There was just a calming presence to the blue eyed boy. His charming smile and touching words always made her feel better.

She would surely miss him, but she knew that this only meant that she had to work harder so she could stay toe to toe with him. She knew that Rei had always seen them as rivals. She wasn't as oblivious as he thought her to be. She knew he was always keeping tabs on her and Naozumi only to see how much ahead or how much behind he was from Sana. And now that he was getting his big break, it seemed as if Rei was pushing her even harder than he was before. She couldn't blame him though. She had certainly slacked off and was now feeling the repercussions for it.

But that wasn't all that was on her mind. Hayama Akito had slipped himself in her dwindling thoughts. Obviously, he didn't physically wonder into her mind but his face would pop in constantly, along with the memories of the Christmas Party and he stealing her first kiss; something that still aggravated her and still did not understand.

Facing him at school was much easier than what she thought it was going to be. She swallowed up her fear and acted as if nothing had ever happened between them. And surprisingly, he did too. If not, he acted more relaxed around her. He didn't scowl at her. He didn't stare at her with those cold, shivering, lifeless golden eyes anymore. He actually reacted to her comments and interacted with her. Albeit, it was mostly something perverse or something demeaning or insulting, much like their old relationship, just on a lesser level.

But it was better. And she would rather be like this with him then having them hate each other's guts.

She released a long, hard sigh. Who knew high school could be so complicated?

She sat up, looking out towards the window. A small smile appeared on her lips. She just couldn't waste a beautiful winter day as this no matter how damp her mood had been.

-O-

He scowled in annoyance as he sat in the café booth, his chin leaning on the palm of his hand. He was highly irritated with the oh-so-lovey-dovey couple in front of him. For the past half hour, he's done everything he could to refrain himself from poking his eyes out and shoving straws so deep in his ears to destroy his ear drums.

He found it absolutely revolting at how sickening the idea of love was to these two. He resisted the urge to gag as Sasaki Tsuyoshi and Sugita Aya nuzzled their noses together. He turned away, sipping on his drink. He knew shouldn't have come, but Tsuyoshi absolutely insisted that he would get out of the apartment on this gorgeous winter day. He originally had planned to visit the shop and see the Old Man, but grew annoyed with his medic's begging so reluctantly agreed.

He highly regretted his decision now.

"I think I'm going to be sick." He muttered as Tsuyoshi played with Aya's cheeks as if she was a child.

But the couple totally ignored him as they were lost in their own world. Hayama realized that he had the perfect opportunity to slyly slip away and they would never notice, not that he was needed anyway. As the couple continued… whatever the hell they were doing, Hayama slipped away silently from the booth. His training and skills had come in handy once more, he thought to himself as he reached the exit of the café.

He walked away from the café, knowing that he was now in a safe territory and away from whatever the hell that was.

He shook his head as he dug his hands in his black jean pockets. Because it was a warmer day, he decided on wearing a plain white long sleeve with two buttons at the top and a black sweater. His golden hair and eyes were exuberant and almost glowing when he wore black, or so he been told. He strolled along the side walk, keeping his eyes open for any sign of the princess. But luck was not on his side as more and more unimportant faces passed by him.

He sighed as he reached a local park. There was a few people there, taking a stroll, also taking advantage of the day. He smirked as he watched a little boy arguing with another girl, around the same age. It seemed like he did something rotten to her, and she was angered quickly by it.

He wanted to laugh at how similar it was to the relationship he held with a certain auburn haired girl. She was feisty to say the least. She would speak her mind when it came to just about anything. Not to mention her temper was probably worse than his. She was as stubborn as a mule and as hard headed as him. He didn't know if that was a good or bad thing.

They were certainly not compatible with each other, but he didn't care. It was odd just how accustomed he became to having her around. He found it amusing working her up and setting her off like a firecracker. Seeing her cheeks flare up and her eyes scrunch up and her mouth turn sour turned him on a bit. Call him a masochist, but he actually liked when she threatened to poke his eyes out or leave him crippled or yank out all his hair.

This sudden infatuation he had for her was something he had never experienced before. He felt like he was running around in circles with her. One minute they were fine, the next, they were at each other's throats. He was always so blunt and truthful with his words. He never realized just how much he had begun watching his words around her. He didn't want to say the wrong thing but he also didn't want to say too much.

Because even though he was suddenly interested in her, it didn't mean that he was letting her in completely. No. He had sealed up his walls tightly, not even allowing a breath of air to seep in through the cracks. In a way, he was being sadistic. He wanted her close, but not close enough to where she could see through his walls.

Because even though he was a heartless, ice cold bastard, he had a heart. And his heart was locked away to a place that he didn't think even she could reach it.

"Hayama?"

Speak of the devil, he thought as he turned around and came face to face with the intrusion of his dreams and thoughts.

"Kurata." She seemed almost surprised by his response, but nevertheless smiled at him like she always did.

"Enjoying the warm day too?" He nodded, shifting uncomfortably.

"I tried calling Tsuyoshi and Aya to see if they wanted to do something, but it went straight to voicemail." Her brows scrunched together as she explained her sudden dilemma.

He scoffed immediately, rolling his eyes at her. "Don't bother. I just ditched them at the café. I don't think I've ever felt so sick in my life."

She laughed slightly, amused by his irritation. "Third wheel?"

"Something like that. I don't even know why I bothered tagging along with them." The regret was evident in his voice, causing Sana to giggle. It was so weird yet so right to talk to Hayama like this. Their relationship had been weird and certainly had its rocky parts, but it was getting better and Sana liked it.

"Oh come now. Those two are in looooooveeeeeee." She said in a sing song voice. He scoffed again.

"It wouldn't surprise me if they hadn't had sex yet."

At this comment, Sana turned bright red. She suddenly felt uncomfortable and the air between the two became awkward.

"W-WHAT!" She sputtered as she tried to hide her embarrassment.

"What?" he gave her a confused stare.

"Tsuyoshi is a gentleman! He wouldn't do something perverted like that!" She defended, still red from embarrassment, "Besides! Aya isn't like that! She knows better!"

He smirked as he came closer to her. "People do crazy thing when they are in love, right?"

Sana felt her knees grow weak as Hayama breathed into her ear. She felt a shiver run down her spine. She didn't know what it was, but the way he had said it to her made her absolutely weak.

"Pe-pervert!" Sana backed away from him as she crossed her arms in front of her chest, as if she was protecting herself. He pulled back and shrugged his shoulders, the smirk still etched on his lips.

"Wouldn't be surprised if one day, Sugita came up to you and told you she was going to quit school because she was pregnant with Sasaki's kid and marry him and live happily ever after."

Sana, slack jawed at first, narrowed his eyes as she glared daggers at him.

"YOU'RE SO STUPID! YOU PERVERTED HENTAI JERK!" She screamed as she attacked him with her toy mallet. He nearly dodger her first and second attack but swiftly moved away from the rest. She didn't care if people stared at her; she was going to hit this idiot! She swore on it!

"FACE ME LIKE A MAN! YOU COWARD!" She screeched as she continued chasing him.

"I'd rather not." He nonchalantly stated as he dodged her attacks with ease.

They continued on for a few minutes before she began to slow in her attacks. Sana was breathing heavily as she glared at the boy standing in front of her. He had a playful smirk on his lips, something she's been seeing a lot recently. It was good and all they were getting along well, but this boy absolutely aggravated her.

"One of these days Hayama, I promise you. One of these days, I will CLOBBER you with my mallet and we will see who's the one smirking!" She declared as she pointed a finger at him.

He shook his head and walked closer. She took a step back, unconsciously. His eyes never left hers. It was like the night at the Christmas part, she thought. He was going to do it again.

"We'll see."

He pulled away. She released a deep breath.

"ANYWAY, what are you going to do now?" She coughed to shake off the awkward atmosphere.

He shrugged his shoulders. "Probably go home and go back to sleep. That idiot woke me up early on my day off."

She giggled a bit. She had never seen this casual side of the mysterious blonde. He was always discreet and secretive, never socializing with the rest of them. But here he was, talking so normally with her. It made her happy and uplifted her mood. It stopped her from thinking about Naozumi.

Her eyes dropped slightly while she bit her lip to stop herself from becoming sad. She didn't want to scurry away Hayama when they just took a positive step in the right direction.

"Hey Baka."

She was taken aback at the sudden insult thrown at her. "Huh?"

"I asked what you were going to do today."

She blushed slightly as she was caught lost in her thoughts. She laughed slightly.

"Well, I don't really know to be honest." She kind of shrugged her shoulders as she dead panned. "I'm sure I'll find something to do. I could always meet up with Rei, which I'm sure he wouldn't mind." She muttered to herself as an image of Rei lecturing her while she sang popped into her mind.

"Sunglasses guy?" She nodded, though found his nickname a bit comedic.

"Hn."

"What?" she questioned as he scoffed.

"You just seemed…" she gave him a wondering look and he shook his head. He noticed the sudden change in her disposition. He wanted to ask but it was none of his business.

"Never mind."

"What is it?" She pressed on, her curiosity getting to the better of her.

"Nothing. I'll be going." He turned around and began to walk off, leaving her on her own. She dead panned at his sudden departure. It was kind of sad to see him go, though. Also, what was he going to tell her?

"Hey."

She broke out of her own thoughts once more. He was turned towards her slightly. His head was cocked back towards her. Sana gave him a questioning look again, wondering what had made him so social today.

"What?"

"Don't get lost." He then turned his back towards her. She puffed her cheeks and crossed her arms around her chest, becoming irritated by his concealed insult. She was about to tell him off to until-

"I can't always be around to save your clumsy, baka self." With that, he walked away. Her cheeks burned with an intense heat and she was sure that her face was as red as the sensation in her cheeks. He had never done something like that before, she thought. Was he… concerned for her? It didn't sound like it, but in a way, it was like Hayama to hide his worry in an insult. She couldn't help but smile.

Even if he was some jerk, he still had good points to him.

-O-

"Fuckin shit man!"

"What now?"

"I'm so done working for this fucker!" A man said as he threw his tools to the floor. The other man sighed in annoyance as he grabbed the tool.

"Shut up and sit down."

The man growled. "Just cause' you're scared of that asshole it doesn't mean I am!" He spat to the floor as he crossed his arms in front of him. "I'm tired of working my ass off for that piece of shit!"

"Damn it Roku! Shut up!" The man opposed of Roku said fiercely. "It's not about being afraid! It's about living!"

"I didn't sign up to be a plumber Kuzo! This is fuckin' shit!"

Kuzo sighed roughly, annoyed by his partner's pointless bantering. He was going to get them killed if he didn't shut his mouth. The man they worked for was not a man to be trifled with. He had encountered firsthand what type of horrors this monster was capable of. His partner didn't.

"Roku, sit down." He stood up with his companion and grabbed him by his shoulders. "You don't want him to catch you rebelling. That man, that monster, will skin you alive. Don't you understand? If he hears one wrong word, you're dead."

Roku stared at his friend with a frustrated glance, irritated by the rational sense Kuzo had been making. He had heard stories and rumors about the cruelty of their boss. He thought that once the old man was gone, they could finally be free of their cruddy work. But this new, pretty boy showed up and started ordering everyone around. It took them all a while before they found out that he had killed the old man and was now in charge.

"If you know what's best for you Roku, I suggest you go back to work." Kuzo gritted through his teeth.

As he resumed his work, he looked up towards the office of their new boss. The windows were crystal clear and spotless. Roku glared as he watched their boss walk up to the window, his dark, onyx eyes scanning the entire floor.

Before Roku could turn away, he caught his gaze with those dark eyes. He felt his heart stop, a cold, cold, shiver running own his spine. Fear entered his mind and he suddenly felt himself go deathly cold. Those dark eyes were cold and evil. Roku couldn't describe the sudden emptiness in him but when the onyx, black haired man smirked, Roku gulped. He looked down towards his work and felt his breathing become heavy.

"Hey Roku." He looked over at Kuzo, who gave him a perplex look. "Are you alright?"

Roku looked back at the window and his eyes went wide at the sudden disappearance of the man. His body felt cold again. He gulped and turned away.

"Yeah."

Kuzo muttered something while Roku released a relieved sigh. He could feel the warmth returning to his body. But those taunting, evil eyes were forever engraved into his mind.

Those were truly eyes of a monster.

"I'm going to faaaaaiiiiiillllllllllllllllll."

"Only if you keep thinking that way, Sana."

Sana huffed in annoyance as her chin was resting on her desk, her math homework out in front of her. She scowled at the bane of her existence, wishing she could burn it.

It had been three weeks since school started, meaning that classes had resumed at full force. Things with Ayumi had finally calmed down, though the blonde haired maiden still called her out and insulted her. But she was no longer hurting or tormenting others, so Sana didn't mind it much. Her classes had overloaded her and she was struggling with math, more so than ever. And with the deadline being the end of this week, her despair had heightened.

It didn't help that Naozumi was also leaving this week and saying goodbye soon. She was extremely sad about her best friend leaving her, but she knew he was off doing bigger and better things. As for Hayama, well, he remained to be a mystery to her. There were days where he was so broody and dark than there were days where he was constantly picking on her. She still needed to confront him about the kiss, but that would be for another day.

"I just don't get it." She complained, her scowl still adorning her pale features.

Tsuyoshi, who had attempted to help her, merely chuckled. "Only because you don't try."

"Don't sass me, Tsuyoshi." She scowled at him, her mood being in the dumps. He chuckled once again as he sat back.

"Don't bother, Sasaki." A husky, deep voice called out. "She's a lost cause. You're only wasting your time."

Sana cracked and stood up straight, her head turning slowly towards the menace that insulted her. And she had become all too familiar with his quirky remarks towards her.

"No one was talking to you, jerk!" She seethed as she stuck her tongue out at him.

"Well, if you weren't such an idiot, idiot, then you wouldn't be falling behind." A taunting smirk graced his lips while Sana's scowl turned into a fierce glare.

"You just love insulting me, don't you?" Long forgotten was her math homework, she turned back towards her other bane of her existence: Hayama Akito.

"Wherever would you get that idea, hmm?" He sat back in his seat, his headphones on.

She growled at Hayama, thinking of ways she could hurt him and clenched her fist. There were days like this where she wished he wouldn't talk to her.

"Can't we be civilized today, you two?" Tsuyoshi intervened, playing peacemaker.

"Once Hayama learns what 'civilize' means, then yes."

"Polite, well-bred, refined."

Sana turned and looked at him, with her eyes popping out of her eyes. Her jaw dropped while Tsuyoshi laughed.

"Ho-how? Whe-ere? I mean, WHAT?" She exasperated while he rode an arrogant smirk.

"I'm smart, duh."

"Cocky bastard." She turned away from him and huffed in annoyance. A scowl replaced her glare as she crossed her arms in front of her. Hayama smirked at her irritation. Tsuyoshi turned towards him and gave him a look that read "Really, Akito?"

He shrugged his shoulders and slacked back in his seat, headphones in. He looked out the window and watched the clouds pass by. Every now and then, he would turn his attention back towards the girl two seats in front of him. He could tell she was annoyed. Her shoulders were tensed and she was rambling more than usual. Her temper was flaring today and he admitted that taunting her was probably not the best idea, but he couldn't help himself.

He looked back out the window and his eyes caught something that made his heart stop. There was a girl, standing outside the main gate with pale white skin and dark auburn hair that fell loosely down her back. He leaned closer to the window and followed her every movement. She was wearing a different uniform from this school and was standing outside with a few friends.

'It-it can't be?' His mind went racing.

At that moment, she looked up at him and his golden eyes locked with her brown ones. He was caught by surprise as she smiled and waved at him. He cocked his eyebrow, shocked with her actions.

She turned away from him, her back at him. He clenched his knuckles, waiting for her to turn around again. One of her friends turned this way and she laughed, from what he could see. She turned back towards him again and winked. His eyes went wide, overly shocked her actions. He felt something conjure in his stomach and turned away. Something didn't set well with him. This feeling felt off.

"Akito."

"Hn?" He glanced up towards his medic, who in return was gazing at him with an eyebrow cocked.

"You look like you've seen a ghost."

He bit his lip. "Maybe." With that, he abruptly stood up and raced out the classroom, leaving a dumbfounded Tsuyoshi.

"What's the matter with him?" Sana asked as she looked up from her desk.

"I have no idea."

The blonde haired captain raced out towards the main gate, determined to get to this girl. If this was the girl that was going to get him home, then he needed to act fast and make sure he was right. He avoided students easily and made his way to the front gate, looking for the girl he just saw. But she was gone. He growled in annoyance and kicked the gate.

His annoyance was back and he glowered his eyes at anybody that came by him. This was the first girl in months that he had come across that looked remotely like the princess he was searching for. And he had lost her without a trace.

"Where did you run off to?"

He inhaled deeply, his frustration getting to the best of him. "Nowhere." He snapped, knowing that he probably shouldn't have because now her temper would flare and they would most likely fight.

"Rude! I was just wondering!" And there was her temper snapping back at him.

"Well wonder about your math homework instead, stupid." He knew those weren't the right choice of words but he needed a place to think and as much as he enjoyed getting under her skin, he didn't need her getting under his.

"YOU IDIOT!" She fumed, her temper flaring. "EXCUSE ME FOR CARING!" She rapidly turned away and stalked off, catching the attention of other students. He sighed roughly, rubbing his eyes.

He walked away in the opposite direction, telling himself he'd make it up to her later, but right now, he had a job to work on.

-O-

"STUPID HAYAMA!" She sneered as she stomped into her next class. She was fuming as she sat in her seat, anger radiating off her body. Silly her to think that she should care for the one person that didn't give a rat's ass about her!

"Trouble in paradise, Kurata?" A savvy, sarcastic voice called out.

"Not today, Ayumi." She crossed her arms in front of her. Hitorashi Ayumi merely smirked as she laughed at the irritation of her arch enemy.

"I don't really care. I just enjoy watching you get so flustered over him." Sana's cheeks turned red as Ayumi teased her. Ayumi smirked as she watched the embarrassment cross her enemies' cheeks. It was entertaining yet irritating watching those two.

"He IRRITATES me! Not fluster!" But she regretted going off on her because she knew Ayumi wasn't afraid to fight back. And a fight was not what she wanted.

"You're so naïve, Kurata." Ayumi rolled her eyes, annoyed with the auburn haired girl's nativity.

"I just don't understand that stupid, cold hearted, perverted baka!"

The blonde haired beauty rolled her eyes as she picked at her newly manicured nails. "Maybe that's the point." Sana gave her a perplexed glance causing her to scoff.

"To be stupid, cold hearted, perverted baka?"

"You are such an airhead." Ayumi insulted, "It amazes me that he finds interest in someone like you."

"Interest?" She shook her head rapidly back and forth, her face beat red, "No, no, no. Hayama is NOT interested in me! He just likes to infuriate me!"

Ayumi felt herself roll her eyes for the nth time. This was why she couldn't stand the auburn haired girl. She was so dense and oblivious to not only her feelings, but those around her. Not to mention, she was constantly complaining.

"Ever thought why, hmm?" With that, Ayumi stood up and walked towards the door, not able to handle her idiocy anymore.

"Why?" Sana asked, before she could leave.

"Ask him, you idiot." With that, the blonde beauty was gone.

'Ask him?' Sana sat in thought, her mother's words ringing in her ears. Her mother had told her to do the same thing, ask him why he did the things he did. It was easy, simple. So then why did she have such a hard time doing it?

"Hmph! Not until he apologizes!" the auburn haired girl shouted to no one in particular.

The day progressed and she avoided Hayama like the plague, though she really didn't need too because he was already doing the same. Tsuyoshi and Aya commented on his behavior, to which she dismissed immediately and ended the day on a sour note with the blonde haired boy.

And with all she had to do this week, this petty feuding with him was going to have to be put on hold because she knew it would only distract her.

She sighed as she plopped onto her bed. This was going to be a long week.

-O-

It was hard to believe that a week could go by so quick, especially for Kamura Naozumi. He had not gone to school all week due to the preparation for his upcoming cast conference and scheduled departure for filming. And because he didn't go to school, he missed out on seeing Sana.

Though he felt bad about it, he knew it would be okay, especially after how she reacted to his news. She was happy for him and he knew it, but he knew that his success was going to delay hers. Ever since they were children, they had been silent rivals. Though their choices in career diverged, he knew that because of his sudden emergence to the professional acting world stung her, and if not her, her manager.

He wanted her to succeed. He wanted to see her achieve her dreams, but he couldn't delay his any longer. And though it killed him to leave her, he knew he had no choice.

He sighed with frustration as they arrived to the airport, suitcase in hand. Today was his big day.

Naozumi felt a little hurt though, knowing that his friends hadn't come visit him. He thought that at least Sana would, but she never showed up.

He didn't want his parents to come see him off, mostly because he knew he would cry and men didn't cry. So he insisted on going alone, to which his parents begrudgingly complied too.

When the limo came to a stop, he got out of the car and gave a smile to his chauffeur, who was now grabbing his luggage out for him.

He waved goodbye and thanked him, heading inside to check in for his flight and luggage. After checking in his luggage and grabbing his ticket, he made his way over to the check in line.

"Nao!"

He stopped dead in his tracks when that familiar voice came called out to him. He turned around and looked back to find Sana smiling and waving over at him.

"Sana?" he whispered, feeling the tears coming to his eyes.

The auburn haired girl ran over to him with the smile he had fallen in love with over and over. She came to a screeching stop in front of him. She was somewhat sweaty and out of breath, making him wonder if she ran here.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

She gave him a dry look. "Did you seriously think that I wasn't going to come say goodbye to my best friend before he left?"

He chuckled, rubbing the back of his head like he always did when he was nervous. "Would you hit me with that hammer of yours if I said yes?"

She glared at him, her hands at her hips. "Kamura Naozumi! You should know better than to doubt me like that!"

He put his hands out in front of him while laughing at her. "Sorry! Sorry! I just figured you were so busy with that deadline of yours that you wouldn't have time!"

"You're a bigger baka than me sometimes!" She said as she wacked him on his shoulder with her toy mallet.

"Ow!" He winced as he rubbed his shoulder begrudgingly.

Then she smiled, a delicate laughed leaving her pale lips. He then joined in and they both laughed together, earning some awkward stares from other people in the airport.

"I'm going to miss you, Sana."

"I'm going to miss you too, Naozumi."

Naozumi walked closer to her and wrapped her in a hug, inhaling every scent of her. Sana complied and hugged him back, already missing the blue eyed boy who hadn't even left yet. They remained in the hug for a few more seconds before pulling apart.

"You better kick some butt out there!" She gave him her cheekiest grin and a thumbs up.

"And you better wipe the competition clean!" The young actor responded with his own smile and thumbs up.

Naozumi grabbed a hold of his suitcase and headed towards security checkpoint, but not before turning back to the aspiring singer.

"Sana!" She raised a brow immediately at the call of her name. "I have something to say when I get back, so you better be here!"

"Sounds like a plan!" She shouted at him as he went up the escalators and disappeared into the airport.

Sana smiled as she stood in the middle of the airport. She would make him proud, like he made her. But just because they were best friends, it didn't mean she would let him outclass her. She was going to wipe the floor clean with this competition and show Japan who she was.

Hit the Lights
by Selena Gomez

It's the boy you never told 'I like you'
It's the girl you let get away
It's the one you saw that day on the train
But you freaked out and walked away

It's the plane you wanna catch to Vegas
Things you swear you'd do before you die
It's the city of love that waits for you
But you're too damn scared to fly

Hit the lights
Let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight
Come alive
Let the moment take you
Lose control tonight

It's the time that you totally screwed up
Still you're tryna get it out your brain
It's the fight you had when you didn't make up
It's the past that you're dying to change

It's all the money that you're saving
While the good life passes by
It's all the dreams that never came true
'Cause you're too damn scared to try.

Hit the lights
Let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight
Come alive
Let the moment take you
Lose control tonight

It's a mad, mad world
Gotta make an escape
It's a perfect world
When you go all the way
Hit the lights
Let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight

So let's go (go, go, go) all the way
Yeah let's go (go, go, go) night and day
From the floor to the rafters
People raise your glasses
We could dance forever

Hit the lights
Let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight
Come alive
Let the moment take you
Lose control tonight

It's a mad, mad world
Gonna make an escape
It's a perfect world
When you go all the way
Hit the lights
Let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight

Sagami Rei smiled to himself as he watched the video once again. It wasn't going to be a single, but the song was good enough to get her past the first wave and end up somewhere in the Top 100 slot. She had been writing, though distracted, and this was the final product. He was scared at first, but it ended up being some of the best work she'd done.

Of course she was modest about it and didn't think much of it, but he had faith in her and knew that she would be in the Top 100. She would write better once the time came, but for the time, he was confident in her skills now that she going to be okay.

A/N: I'M STILL ALIVE. I HAVEN'T ABANDONED THIS!

Ahem, for any of you who think I will abandon this, I will not! Rest assure, this is my baby and I will finish her! College is just excruciating and exhausting.

Okay, update time! Two Worlds Collide is going on a monthly update. That way, it's easier for me to get on track with things. Crimson Ties will be on a biweekly update. By the way, keep a look out for the next chapter of Crimson Ties in the next couple days. Beauty and The Dragon, my new Fairy Tail fic, will be updated biweekly also. I've been poking at some one-shots here and there but first things first, my stories.

Onto the chapter, uhhhh not much to say. The story is finally rolling ! I know things seem weird and out of order but it was intended to be like that. I skipped around on purpose and if there's any Naozumi and Sana shippers out there reading this, sorry about that pathetic excuse of a goodbye. It just seemed like the right thing to write.

And for you fellow Sana and Akito shippers out there, you get a few scenes of our favorite pair which involve bickering and actual conversation! Things between these two are about to get very interesting finally!

Don't judge me for the poor choice in song for Sana's video. I needed something that wasn't hinting towards any type of feelings and was Sana-like. That was the best I could do. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to figure it out.

And a sneak peak at what our villain is up too through the eyes of his grunts. You can count on Matsumo making an appearance as well.

Uhh, not really much else to be said but I hope you enjoyed the chapter and to drop a little review! It makes me feel a lot better when people have things to say about the story, whether good or bad.

Until next time!
