Forgotten Memories
Chapter 8: Zanish Island
Nami found herself getting more and more frustrated over the next few days, when she spoke to other members of the Heart Pirates. She would feel a sense of déjà vu, as if she had spoken about the topic of conversation before. At those times she would wreck her brain trying to remember something but she always just ended up with a headache.
Having amnesia really sucked because the more she wanted to remember the more confused she would become. It wasn't that Nami didn't trust the Heart Pirates, it was just the lack of control over her memories was getting to her. What if she never gets her memory fully back? Would she just go back to her crew when the times comes and never remember what really happened with the Heart Pirates.
With Nami having so much free time to herself she was missing her crew more and more. They really became the family she had always wanted. She missed Luffy's constant need for adventure, Zoro's sense of direction, Usopp's stories about the 'adventures' that he been on, Sanji's cooking, how excited Chopper would get over the littlest of things, Franky's crazy inventions, Brook's music and most of all Nami missed Robin.
Nami was dying for some female company and the Heart Pirates had no female members, which the navigator thought was sexist and confronted Law about it. He had said that he had no objection to women joining his crew, in fact he had a female member before but she left because of the consent flirting from members. You'd swear they'd never seen a women before the way they act he had said.
Nami had felt offended by that, not one member of the crew had flirted with her even once. Was she not indeed a women? Nami always prided herself when it came to her sex appeal and to think that she never received flirtatious comment from the members Law told her about really made her look at herself.
It made Nami want to confront these members and question their taste in women but then that would make look like it bothered her and her pride wouldn't allow that... She also felt Law would get a good laugh out of it at her expense.
"We'll be arriving at Zanish island, shortly Nami-san," Bepo had informed her.
"Finally!" Nami cheered. Being on the sub for so long was starting to get on her nerves and was happy to finally be able to stretch her legs on land. Nothing sounded better than getting off the sub for a while. It made Nami miss the Thousand Sunny it always made her feel at ease no matter how long they were for land.
"You're staying aboard," Law stated as he walked towards the two.
Nami turned and glared at the Heart captain. "No I'm not!" How did he think he could just order her around? He wasn't her captain, she had been stuck on the sub for weeks now and he was telling her that she couldn't leave the sub? There was no way she was staying on board.
The Heart captain glared back at her, there is no room for argument." Law didn't like when people questioned his orders even if they weren't a member of his crew.
"Why?" Nami felt her blood boil. Who did Law think he was? He can't just order her to stay put without at least giving a good reason. Not that she would listen to him even if there was. The sub was starting to drive her crazy.
"You can explore the next island," Law said like it was a reasonably request.
"I don't see what the big deal is," Nami mused.
"Just stay put," Law ordered and walked off before she could argue any further.
Of course Nami was never going to listen to the Heart Pirate captain. So she had waited about twenty minutes after he and some of his crew had headed into the town and then ditched the person the captain had watch her when she went to use the 'bathroom.'
Nami had instantly fell in love with the island instantly. Zanish island dealt a lot with weather and navigation, it was like her dream island. Nami felt like she could learn so much on the island. What she need to do was find a book store and get as much books as she possibly can with the money she had 'borrowed' before she had left the sub.
The navigator was sure she was in for it when she got back to the sub, unless she got there before Law got back and bribed the man who was left to watch her from not telling his captain. Though that was highly unlikely, she doubted that any member of the crew of lie to Trafalgar Law. Oh well it was his own fault for thinking he could just order her around.
Nami had been concentrating so much on the consequences of being caught, she hadn't realize that someone was slowly creeping up behind her.
"We meet again," Nami froze as she felt her blood go cold.
