Chapter 1
The universe is a vast and compelling thing that has left many a great mind amazed at the many mysteries it holds. The scale of the universe is yet unknown to mere mortals whether magical or otherwise, but humans tend to try and explain away things they can not understand. They try to explain away the very complexity of the universe by stating that it is simply comprised of galaxies, planets, stars, and several other more easily understood things. But what humans are unaware of is that the universe does not simply comprise itself of one world. There are many different worlds that exist parallel to each other on the ever-looping timeline. These worlds are vast and numerous and hold many wonders within. And yet, for the sake of this story we will focus on two perfectly parallel or 'twin worlds'. These two worlds share many similarities and yet are very different from each other.
Some of the things these worlds have in common are the people that inhabit it. In both worlds there have been Godric Gryffindor, Merlin, and even Albert Einstein. These worlds even share places such as London, Russia, and Africa. And while these places are slightly different in each world, they are mirrors of each other. Different and yet the same.
For this story you won't need to concern yourself with every human, place, or idea these worlds share. You simply need to be aware of a handful of characters. Particularly three eleven-year olds at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Before we jump right in allow me to introduce the three children from your world's 'twin'.
Harry James Potter was many things, but an orphan he was not. The eleven-year-old boy had grown up in Godric's Hollow with his parents and little sister. His messy black hair and emerald green eyes were really the only things one might recognize him by. He was a short kid with a small frame, but he was a healthy child with a roundish face and a look of mischief forever in his eyes. But the biggest difference between this Harry and the Harry of your world is that on his forehead there was no scar. Not a single blemish marked the young wizard's face.
Harry was like any other kid really. He was a first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was in Gryffindor House, much like his parents before him. He had two best friends that he would do anything for, a mum that taught Charms, a dad that was an Auror, and a little sister that was a pest, in his eyes at least. He was a happy kid without a care in the world as he spent his days in class and then every other waking moment with his friends.
Harry's friends are recognizable to those of your world and yet they are different than their counterparts. His very first friend was Ronald Weasley. A red headed wizard that would much rather be off playing chess or getting a bite to eat than attending lessons. Ron was a smart child and yet had very little motivation to earn better grades. He was very much like your Ron and yet, as Harry, very different from your Ron. He was a prankster like his twin brothers but was more methodical about what he did, something his infamous twin uncles had instilled in him. He and Harry were often considered to be a mix of the marauders and the Prewitt Twins, something both mothers almost feared.
Harry's other friend was perhaps the least like her counterpart. The bushy haired eleven-year-old Harry spent his time with was not of muggle blood. A fact she would remind anyone if provoked. Her bushy hair was a trace darker than your Hermione's hair and her eyes were a stark grey against her pale skin. Hermione was the youngest daughter of one Bellatrix Lestrange. A woman very feared and hated in your world, but not in theirs. Hermione was the youngest of three girls and was the most intelligent one. She was kind like your Hermione and yet she had a temper, a temper only the child of Bellatrix Lestrange could have.
So now that you've met this world's counterparts to your Golden Trio, we can begin our story.
(AN: This is AU and I don't own anything. Everything you recognize is owned by JK Rowling. Please let me know what you think as this is a relatively new idea for me as a story. I will try to update weekly. Comments and critiques are greatly appreciated! Enjoy the ride and happy reading! I apologize for the extra update but I fixed this chapter to make it more concise, thank you!)
