Chapter 31
Naruto dressed and grabbed Hiruzen and grabbed his things rushing downstairs and over to the Weddings area where Sasuke stood next to his brother and Kisame stood a few feet away. Hiruzen blindly reached for Itachi who accepted his nephew.
"Blondie! I need a best man! Sasuke is the maid of honor and Hiruzen's got the rings. So c'mere!" Kisame said with a huge grin and tucked Naruto under his arm pulling him in for a hug.
"I'm not a maid of honor. I'm just here to sign as a witness." Sasuke said glaring.
"He'd look great in a dress." Naruto said with a snicker and Kisame wholeheartedly agreed.
The minister finally quieted the room down and he started just as Hiruzen opted to fall asleep on his father's shoulder.
Naruto watched the slightly drunk couple exchange vows and his face had a huge grin. So many people wanted to see this and he was very lucky to see it. But eloping was probably the best idea considering everything.
Sasuke had his eyes glued to Naruto's face the entire time and could help but wonder how happy Naruto would look marrying him. Sasuke came to a conclusion. He was going to pop question and its a damn good thing he packed that ring.
Finally, they kissed and Kisame picked Itachi up and Itachi wrapped his legs around his new husband.
"Save it for the bedroom!" Naruto yelled and everyone began laughing capturing a wonderful photograph.
They all dragged themselves back upstairs and went to their designated rooms.Naruto thanked everyone that would listen for thick walls since the newlyweds would be destroying that room.
Naruto and Sasuke kissed very lightly as a sleeping toddler was curled up in between them.
Naruto broke the kiss before reconnecting their lips with a soft kiss to follow.
"Night babe, love you." Naruto said drifting off to sleep.
"Love you too." Sasuke said tucking a blonde lock behind Naruto's ear.
The next morning, well... Almost noon everyone climbed out of their hotel rooms. Naruto walked them across the street and they had a quiet yet fairly happy breakfast of massive proportions. They gambled a bit and Sasuke hit a damn good jackpot which led them on a shopping spree, which resulted in monogrammed coach wallets and some presents for the newlyweds.
Naruto honestly did not understand why they bought so many things.
They had an early dinner at a a different steak place in the Flamingo with a giant seafood platter adorning the center of the table. Once it was dark, cupcakes in hand they all walked down to "The High Roller" and took a picture with a green screen and then got into the line.
Sasuke, for his part, stood next to Naruto during the entire 30 minutes they were aboard the ride worrying what currently lie inside his pocket...
Sasuke's nerve, and almost his stomach flew out of him as they neared the top.
"Scared Teme?" Naruto asked concerned.
"I'm ok." Sasuke said a little weak but Naruto accepted the answer.
Sasuke looked his arms around Naruto's waist and pulled himself together and vowed that before midnight... He would ask. Whether drunk or sober. It would happen. Hopefully.
They stepped out and explored the Las Vegas strip watching the lights and the giant tree. All the little shows and before he knew it, it was 10:30. Naruto turned around as the Bellagrio water show ended and looked up and across the street.
"Hey Sasuke?"
"Hm?"
"Feel like revisiting Paris?" Naruto said with a big smile.
Sasuke turned and looked at the Eiffel Tower and the smile on his face grew.
"We'll go there later!" Kisame yelled before ushering everyone to the Miracle Mile instead.
Sasuke felt the urge to buy many things, but he had to keep reminding himself that he didn't need to carry all these purchases around before proposing and in top of that. He knew he was distracting himself.
Kisame found Tommy Bahamas and much to Itachi's disappointment, bought a Hawaiian shirt.
They finished walking the rest of the mile before going and gambling a bit more when a question struck Sasuke like a thunderbolt.
"Naruto, why haven't I met you're family?" Sasuke asked turning from the machine and looking up at his blonde holding his son.
"Do you want too? I wouldn't be surprised if my grandma is here somewhere drunk off her ass..." Naruto said with a straight face.
"I take it your grandma isn't the cookies and candy kind of grandma..."
"No, she's a well endowed drunk who blows money like no tomorrow. You can meet my family on our wedding day. I don't want them scaring you off." Naruto said with a smile but Sasuke could see in his eyes he was serious.
"Well then." Sasuke said and continued to gamble.
Sasuke pulled his phone out and saw it was 11:30pm and got Itachi and akisame off their machines and they handed their rewards cards in to be upgraded to Diamond cards. Naruto was honestly amazed they could blow money that quickly.
All four adult accompanied by a small toddler went across the casino and passed by the pole dancers before getting tickets and bolting up the stairs. Naruto and Hiruzen took off to take pictures when Itachi stopped Sasuke.
"You're going o propose aren't you?" He stated blankly.
"Yes...if I don't faint first." Sasuke said taking deep breaths.
After an assortment of pictures taken and a very long and slow elevator ride up, they stepped into a cramped steel box overlooking Las Vegas. The water show as starting once again and people were shoving and pushing.
"Not quite the same experience is it?" Naruto said as people shoved.
"No, but hopefully they all leave soon." Sasuke said backing himself into a corner.
Once the water show stopped and people scrambled to the elevator only a few strays remained but it was very quiet and everyone was taking pictures. Hiruzen was awake and looking out and enjoying the view immensely. Itachi took his nephew around to the other side.
Sasuke began playing every worst case scenario. Him dropping the ring. Not being able to say the words. Naruto saying No and leaving him...
Naruto took his cell phone out and snapped a picture of Sasuke deep in thought snapping him out of his endless worrying and walked over pecking Naruto on the lips. And encircled his arms around his blonde. Naruto took a picture of both of them, he was adorning a huge smile and Sasuke a small but sincere smile.
"You always make me feel like I'm on top of the world Sasuke. I'm beginning to feel like it comes with being with an Uchiha." Naruto joked.
"It does... But you deserve nothing less than to feel on top of the world and not like your being dragged down." Sasuke said into Naruto's ear.
Naruto turned his head and Kissed Sasuke on the lips and Sasuke returned it.
Sasuke looked at the time on Naruto's phone... 11:55 p.m.
He had 5 minutes to pop the question based on his own agenda that didn't actually matter.
He turned Naruto in his arms and onyx eyes filled with warmth and pride and blue filled with love and adore for the man standing before him.
"Naruto, you have a unique ability to make me happy. Not sporadically, but all the time. I love seeing you hold and care for Hiruzen. I adore all you're quirks that make you totally unique. I love that we made s home together. I enjoy just being around you and I am happy you are apart of my life. Do you know what would make me extremely happy though?"
"What would make you extremely happy?" Naruto said with a slight blush enjoying being showered in adorable sentiments.
Sasuke let go on Naruto's hands and pulled out the pocket watch. Naruto looks at the watch curiously.
"This, is my favorite watch. It belonged to my great grandfather. He was the first Uchiha to make it, and he bought himself this watch after losing a job as a symbol to be his own boss. And he did just that. To me is symbolizes to always go after what you want in life and take it. No excuses. Just determination."
Naruto smiled looking at the beautiful pocket watch before the smile slowly slipped off his face and his eyes looked back at Sasuke's.
Sasuke looked Naruto straight in the eye before dropping them and opening the pocket watch and pulling out a thin, but not too thin, gold band. He held it in his fingers for a moment before closing the watch and placing it back in his pocket.
Sasuke shut his eyes and took a deep breathe before slowly descending to one knee and looking up at Naruto who looked a little worried, but happy. Naruto's hands covered his mouth and Sasuke smirked.
Sasuke took a few more breathes to steady himself, willing himself not to screw this up.
"Naruto, will you be my husband? Please?" Sasuke said holding the ring out.
Naruto nodded slowly almost on autopilot.
"Can I please have verbal clarification... " Sasuke said with a smile.
"Yes, I'd love to marry you!" Naruto said with a huge smile and dove into Sasuke's arms kissing the man who gripped the ring even tighter to ensure it didn't go missing.
Sasuke slid the ring on and it was a perfect fit.
The happy couple embraced and walked over to Itachi and Kisame who had all knowing smiles.
"You bastards knew... Didn't you?"
"We guessed on the way up. I've never seen my otouto look that close to fainting." Itachi said before bouncing Hiruzen.
Naruto froze for a moment and looked down at the ring.
"You bastard! This was in that damn Tiffany's ring box wasn't it!" Naruto screeched.
"Yes, but I assure you, Hiruzen never swallowed it." Sasuke said laughing.
The next morning Sasuke grumbled feeling around for his cell phone that was disturbingly going off. They would be leaving Las Vegas today and heading home and someone dared wake him up after such a wonderful night so early in the morning. Whoever it was would die-
The screen said 'mom'.
Shiiiiiiiitttttttttttt.
Sasuke clicked answer and held the phone up to his ear.
"Hi mom..." Sasuke said apprehensively.
"Hello Sasuke, how are you?" She said pleasantly. Almost sickeningly to pleasant.
"Wonderful... Naruto has agreed to become my husband..." Sasuke said smiling at the memory.
"Ohhhh! How wonderful! Can I please plan the wedding?" She said in an authentically happy voice.
Sasuke hesitated a moment.
"Nothing to drastic, and Naruto and I do get a say." Sasuke spoke his terms.
"I can agree to your terms. And here I was calling to have you wake your brother up so I could tear him a new one thought the phone for having blatantly disobey me and get hitched! When I get my hands on him..." She said threateningly and Sasuke shivered in fear of his mother's menacing tone. "Oh well, all is not lost since my baby boy is going to get married the proper way." Mikoto practically rejoiced.
"K, I'll have Naruto e-mail you any specifics or preferences he might have. I know you'll do a wonderful job mom, but now, I'm going to go back to sleep. Also, you can harass Itachi for a baby now. Bye mom." Sasuke said the last part quickly and hung up.
"Itachi is going to murder you once he realizes you threw him under the baby mobile." Naruto said tiredly.
"Not if my mother murders him first for getting hitched."
Naruto gave a slight laugh and rolled over. Hiruzen was completely knocked out in between them.
"I don't care to much about wedding specifics. I just don't want a super big ritzy thing. Simple, small and intimate. No more than 200 people maximum." Naruto listed off before yawning. "And my favorite color gets to be incorporated."
"We can get married on Halloween then and make a masquerade ball or something.." Sasuke said snuggling his son and pillow.
Naruto's cerulean eyes snapped open and he sat up excitedly. "Can we?! Please?" Naruto said with big eyes.
"Maybe. But I'm going back to bed." Sasuke said before drifting off into a light sleep.
