Chapter 32
Eventually, everyone got up and showered. Packed their belongings. And walked out into the hallway and Naruto noticed Itachi had a look that could murder on his face. He was on his cell phone and Naruto could feel the hatred he was emitting to all mankind at that very moment. Even Hiruzen didn't want to be near him. Itachi walked out ahead and Kisame quietly followed. Naruto gave Sasuke a confused look and Sasuke just looked down at him.
"Mom." Was the only word he uttered and walked toward the elevators. Naruto followed and they made it down stairs. Itachi was still on the phone, but now he was grinding his teeth in annoyance.
Sasuke wrapped his arm around Naruto's shoulders and pressed a kiss to his cheek and Naruto just smiled at him.
"I get to marry you..." Sasuke said in a sort of song.
Naruto shook his head and giggled before climbing in to the back of the limousine and failed to noticed some sharp honey colored eyes lighten up in amusement.
"Brat." Said the owner of those honey colored eyes as the limo took off and headed to the airport.
Itachi was on his cellphone all the way to the airport, through check in, whilst waiting in the terminal, boarding the plane and he looked more and more agitated. Naruto, Kisame and Sasuke were all patiently waiting for this to be over since they needed Itachi to turn his phone off. He hadn't even spoken a word yet.
"FINE! I need to get off the phone so this bucket of bolts can take off. Good bye mother." And Itachi hung up and turned his cell phone off fuming.
Naruto opened his mouth to offer words of sympathy but Sasuke covered his mouth and shook his head. The plane started to take off and Sasuke shifted into discomfort. Naruto rubbed Sasuke's thigh in a comforting motion and the plane was soon in the air. Chips ahoy cookies, sodas and water were distributed and Naruto noticed Itachi looked horrid. Luckily the plan was back on the ground after 40 minutes. They walked out of the terminal and grabbed their luggage. They all climbed into the the van and headed back to the house.
They walked in and dropped their suitcases on the floor before collapsing into the sofa.
"So, what's the damage?" Kisame asked.
"Sasuke's a little angel who does no wrong and has graciously offered to let mother plan their wedding unlike her ill-behaved eldest son whose only change to get back into his mother's good graces is to give her grandchildren via man pregnancy." Itachi finished with a glare.
"Ouch..." Kisame said while looking around the room.
"She's graciously setting up a consultation here in Los Angeles for tomorrow. Apparently there is one doctor in all of Los Angeles county approved to perform and oversee this process that has yet to be tested." Itachi stretched his arms up and cracked his neck.
"So, she's expecting you to immediately get to it then?" Naruto said.
"It's not an immediate thing from what I can tell. It takes some time since our bodies aren't equipped with everything to do this, and only some people fit the criteria to actually do this. It's not for everyone. So this will basically be a preliminary thing whether or not I'm a suitable candidate to have a child." Itachi said with a shrug.
Kisame got on his knees and clasped his hands together and looked up to the ceiling.
"If anyone up there is listening... Please, I beg you, make sure Itachi is NOT a good candidate. I've never done anything horrible enough to deserve this kind of punishment." Kisame pleaded.
Itachi looked like he wanted to smack him, but opted not to in case he would undo that plea that would hopefully be heard.
Mikoto did indeed get an appointment for the next day, hence the reason they were driving to a private doctors office as a family. Naruto pulled up and parked the car allowing everyone to climb out and walk into the building. They took the elevator and rode it all the way up stepping off on the designated floor. Naruto scanned the doors he passed until he came to the door with the numbers Itachi muttered out. Naruto put his hand on the door knob and his faint smile dropped into a look of sheer devastation.
"Oh no..." Naruto practically cried.
"What is it Blondie?!" Kisame said a little worried and held Itachi a little closer who was a bit apprehensive.
"The world of sunshine and rainbows has just morphed into absolute chaos." Naruto said dramatically.
The door then decided to open and the knob yanked out of his hand as a woman departed and Naruto's sharp blue eyes locked with honey colored ones.
"Shit."
"Brat!" The well endowed woman said looking very cross.
"Naruto, who is this?" Sasuke said pulling his blonde towards him.
"My grandma." Naruto squeaked.
"C'mere and give me a hug." She said with an almost sinister smile.
Naruto turned and looked at Sasuke. "I love you, please don't leave me." Naruto said in a rush.
Naruto's grandmother, Dr. Tsunade Uzumaki, looked thoroughly offended and smacked him upside the head pulling her grandson into a hug, suffocating him with her overly large chest.
"You gentlemen would be?" She said with a polite smile.
"Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto's fiancé. This is my son Hiruzen, my brother Itachi and his husband Kisame." Sasuke introduced.
She glared down at her grandson who was scrambling for breath.
"It's a pleasure to meet all of you. My grandson failed to mention any new love life, but I was very happy to see you make him smile yesterday in Las Vegas while we were both getting ready to depart coincidentally." She said pleasantly.
She grabbed one of Naruto's arms and twisted him around holding his arm behind his back.
"What is your mother and father going to think?!" She scolded.
"Mom, the same as you. Dad.., will understand." Naruto said with the most honest facial expression.m
"Hm. Well then, come back into the office. Anyone who wishes to not go back please remain seated." Tsunade said indicating the sofa's.
Itachi and Kisame walked forward a little scared and Naruto plopped down on the couch nursing his arm.
Sasuke handed Hiruzen some juice and goldfish and let him happily snack. After about an hour and a half both Itachi and Kisame walked back out looking like weights had been lifted.
"What's the news?" Naruto asked curiously.
"Itachi, is a terrible candidate seeing as he would basically have to live off of medications throughout the entire pregnancy. He'd be way too sick and lower the chances of a successful pregnancy. " Kisame said breathing easy.
"Basically, I don't even produce enough vitamins to sustain myself, which I've been given a list of medications and vitamins to pick up once back home. I won't feel as drained, but I still make a terrible candidate." Itachi said with a smirk.
"Grandma, did they pay you?" Naruto asked seriously.
"No, brat. I ran the tested as requested by his mother. He can't do it. He's completely unable to complete this process ideally. Maybe down the line with a few test runs, but not while it's still questionable." She admitted.
"Would I make a good candidate?" Naruto asked subtly by masked it with sarcasm.
Sasuke raised an eyebrow and stared at the back of Naruto's head.
"Actually, yes. You produce enough energy on your own to support the pregnancy and would only need to take the pills to keep the pregnancy going and not have your body terminate it." She said with a shrug.
Naruto looked taken aback and just stood up and left awkwardly.
Sasuke shook his head and watched him leave.
"So, will this make Hiruzen my great stepgrandson?" Tsunade asked.
"I suppose." Sasuke said turning and looking back at the woman who will become his in-law.
She gave a small smile and from behind the counter a ball and some stickers.
"Bye Hiruzen." She said with a small smirk and walked back out.
Hiruzen looked at the ball and dropped it watching it bounce.
"Time to go. And those do not end up in Daddy's car." Sasuke warned looking at the stickers.
Naruto was sitting in the drivers seat, fiddling with the buttons, much to Sasuke's annoyance when they all climbed it.
"Well, on the downside, I can't get pregnant at least not yet, but on the bright side, I can't get pregnant and Naruto can." Itachi said nodding to himself happily.
"Figured that out all on your own didja?" Naruto said with a smile.
Itachi's face dropped.
"Marriage before babies." Sasuke said leaning his head back against the headrest.
"Now your going to postpone the wedding for as long as possible." Kisame said joking and Sasuke shook his head at the reply.
Naruto threw the car into reverse and pulled out. Tsunade watched the car depart before calling her daughter.
"Hi mom." Kushina said answering the phone.
"We're you aware your son is engaged to a remarkably handsome young man with a child."
"Excuse me?"
"I'll take that as a no." Tsunade said hanging up the phone.
Kushina Uzumaki grabbed her husband Minato by the ear and dragged him out the door and into the car. She turned the car on and Minato grabbed the seatbelt throwing it on and grabbing the door handle and held on while his wife sped down their street and straight to the freeway. He didn't dare speak the entire drive. He didn't need this car crashed.
Naruto turned onto his street and slammed on the brakes.
"Can't I ever catch a break?!" He screeched sending everyone's French fries around the car.
Sasuke looked up to see who he correctly assumed would be future mother and father in law.
