Hermione got herself ready for her first shift as a fully qualified medi-witch and glanced over to the cabinet that held all of her treasures. There was a photo of her and Draco at Harry and Ginny's wedding, with a very pregnant Ginny the forefront of the picture making faces as the image moved. In the background, stood Potter Manor that had been uncovered a year after the war, along with two house elves that Harry demanded took a pay cheque and two days off a week.
There was a photo of Hermione and Draco standing beside Ron and Pansy at their wedding, looking quite awkward and strained, apart from Pansy and Ron who couldn't keep their hands off one another.
There was another photo of Hermione and her parents in front of the Sydney Opera House and every now and then Creevy family came over and hugged them all.
In another photo, Hermione and Draco were seated with little Teddy on his first birthday as he unwrapped their gift to him, and in the last, biggest frame, Hermione and Draco stood at the alter on their wedding day, exchanging their vows, putting on their rings and kissing like there was no one watching.
She had now come to a point where she was so absolutely content with how things were. She had finished a 6-year traineeship at St Mungos as a mind healer while Draco became a healer himself. He sat back and watched her get ready, eyeing her like she was his prey and she were a gazelle.
"You can't look at me like that, you'll make me late on my first day" she said.
"You've been there 4 years; you outdate most of the furniture. I'm sure a few minutes wont matter" he said as he stalked up behind her and kissed the back of her neck.
"A few minutes?" she asked with a cheeky smile.
"Maybe more than a few" he said, running his hands up under her shirt and up towards her breasts. He palmed her soft flesh before tweaking a nipple, making Hermione second guess her concern for being late. She closed her eyes and leant her head back till it was resting on his shoulder. She felt him grow hard against her and she felt her body give in to the desire. She reached down and lifted her long skirt, taking her underwear and pulling it down to her feet. She stepped out and bent over the nearby chair, pressing herself back against him. He acted quickly, pressing a finger into her and hissing through is teeth when he realised how ready she was. It was hard, fast and rough, just the way she liked it. When it became too much, she spun around and he sat her on the cabinet and pounded her till the photo frames all fell over and the people in them frowned up at them. She quickly flipped them all over and cried out as Draco drove into her again and again.
She found her release quickly and he came with her, proving that perhaps a few minutes was all they needed after all.
Her day at work was much the same as it had been the last few years, except now she was fully qualified and didn't need supervision to do her work. In time, she quickly gained a reputation as a fantastic mind healer, often using muggle methods to help with things that magic just couldn't do.
One day in the cafeteria, she was eating her lunch when she felt ill. She and Draco had gone out for dinner at a new place the night before, so she dismissed it as food poisoning and finished the day.
When days went by, and she wasn't feeling any better she confided in a work friend who suggested she take a pregnancy test.
They closed the door to Hermione's office and Hermione leant back against her chair as her friend and accomplished pre-natal healer confirmed her suspicion.
"Pregnant!" she said with a smile.
As it turned out, despite not trying for a baby, Draco and Hermione were both elated to be pregnant. Harry and Ginny were on their fourth while Ron and Pansy were trying for a second.
The pregnancy went relatively smoothly and Hemione was able to stay in her job till the day before she gave birth.
In a tremendously dramatic event, little Alula Narcissa Malfoy was born at 5pm on 23rd February 2016.
She was a beautifully easy baby to care for, didn't fuss over much, didn't complain and was very bright. She was joined just over a year later by a brother, Scorpius Draco Malfoy, who was the polar opposite to his sister. The first 12 months with him were interesting to say the least.
Overall, Hermione couldn't be happier with her life. As she and Draco sat together at the end of each day, reminiscing about how their life had turned out, they wouldn't have had it any other way.
AN - Thanks for sticking by, for allowing me to jump through time and skip the parts that I hate writing (the battle, eh, its annoying to write). I would have loved to have written more about Potter Manor, but Harry isn't the focus of the story here. I always feel that there should have been more to the Potters than a vault full of gold. Maybe one day I'll come back and do a spin off where Harry gets access to his family's land. I hope I tied up all the loose ends. Sorry for the last chapter and all the crying and crap. I think its great though, she feels that he is pulling away but then realises almost too late that he had felt the same all along. Typical teenagers who don't know how to communicate.
Anyhoo, I think I'll take a break from writing for a while. This one really took it out of me.
PS: I have a colleague at work who I told about my side hobby. It turns out, she has read some of my stuff, particularly SOML. I was so excited to hear that! If you have made it here and haven't read my other stuff, go take a look. I like it. So you should too. Also, if you haven't read Memory of You by Potion Chemist, then go now and do it. Its angsty, long and will break your Dramione loving heart. Its still a WIP (as of July 2021) but is updated to schedule and nearing completion.
