Outtake #2

I sighed happily as I walked up the Chicago streets with Edward. We came here for our anniversary, our 20th to be exact. We came here every anniversary together. It was always so much fun reliving the past with Edward, recreating the most passionate moments from our beginning.

As we walked up the street and back to Edward's home where we were staying, I heard a moan. I frowned as I stopped abruptly and looked down the alley.

"Bella? Bella, love, what's the matter?" Edward asked, noticing that something was wrong, as I walked down the alley without saying anything else. I don't know what was possessing me to go here, but I just needed to. I didn't stop until I approached a woman sitting by a few trash cans. She was beautiful with light brown-red hair and big blue eyes.

When she saw Edward and I, she got spooked. "Get away from me!" She screamed, followed by some moaning in pain. I then noticed as she clutched her stomach that she had a very large bump. She was pregnant.

"You know about vampires," Edward breathed, looking at her with wide eyes. "She's pregnant with a hybrid."

"Oh my god," I gasped.

"Get away from me!" She hissed, crawling towards the trash cans.

"The father, he was a vampire. Wasn't he?" I asked her, kneeling down gently by her. "I promise I won't hurt you like he did. I know you didn't chose this, we can help you if you want."

"Please," She begged, sobbing. I noticed she was all bruised and must be in a lot of pain. After all, I was in her position years ago but I still remember the pain. "Please, before he comes!"

"Who?" I asked. It didn't take long to figure out who he was until a pale man with bright red eyes and brown hair came forward.

"She's mine!" the man growled. I then watched as he lunged at us but didn't get far as Edward pinned him down to the ground. I noticed Hayley was getting really scared at this. The poor thing was already traumatized because of the bastard over there who Edward was currently fighting. I went to her side and brought the sickly girl into my arms where she buried her face into my chest. She didn't need to see any more disturbing things in her life.

"He's dead," Edward breathed as he came over to us. "Come on, let's bring her back to the house."

"Agreed," I replied as I helped Hayley up.

Edward then picked up the fragile girl in his arms and we rushed her back to the house. From there we didn't really speak. I helped her get cleaned up and into one of the beds while Edward phoned Carlisle to converse about removal methods or delivering the baby.

"I'm Hayley. Hayley Jones," The girl told me as I helped her into the bed. "I just...I just thought you should know...What is yours?"

"Bella," I told her with a smile. "And that was my husband, Edward. We're vampires too, but we're good. We drink animal blood. We don't harm anyone."

"Okay, good," She said in a sigh of relief. "And thank you, Bella. This is the nicest anyone's been to be in years. In fact I have no one, so this is very nice of you."

"I'm sorry to hear that," I said sadly.

"I'm in your debt. You saved me," Hayley said, touching my arm.

"No need, we don't need anything," I told her softly. "We help people in situations like this. It'll be okay and we'll help you no matter what."

We had other woman like Hayley who were taken advantage of and were forced to deliver hybrid children. The fathers of these hybrids our a lot of crazy vampires like Joham who we normally have to stop and save their children. Our family normally gives the hybrid babies to vampire families who want a child and make sure they have a loving home. Though with Hayley, something was different with her.

"How did you know I was in trouble? Your husband over there seemed to pick up information about me pretty fast," She said nervously.

"He reads minds, it's his power," I explained to her. "I know, this is all new to you but he does. That's how he knew."

"Oh," Hayley replied, still pretty shocked. "I'm pretty sure the guy who raped me didn't have any. I'm glad he'll never see this kid, not that I would let him anyway. This is my baby and I'm going to raise him or her."

I felt myself bite my lip as she said that. Edward then slowly walked in from behind and spoke, "Hayley, I hate to break this to you but...You might not even see your child."

"What do you mean?" Hayley asked, clearly scared.

"Don't be scared," I hushed her, coming to her side soothingly. "Sweetie, what he means is...This pregnancy, it'll kill you. It's not a normal one, look what it did to you already."

"I know, but the baby doesn't mean it," Hayley said, tears welding up in her eyes. "I won't die."

"Hayley, there is a possibility that you won't," Edward told her, coming to her side with me gently. "I know this is tough but the only way to live is to either become a vampire or you...you get ride of your baby."

Hayley's eyes went wide as she gripped to her stomach. "No! You're lying."

"We're not. Honey, I was in your position years ago except it was Edward I had the baby with. It killed me, that's why I'm a vampire. Even though I love my daughter more than anything in the world, her birth basically killed me. If it wasn't for my best friend, who is a vampire, my heart would have given out completely if she didn't inject venom into my system," I explained to Hayley as I placed a hand over my silent heart. "I'm sorry, but you're heart will give out before you can really have a chance to be saved human wise. There is a chance though to become a vampire-"

"No! I refuse to be a vampire! After what he did to me, I can't. But I won't let you kill my baby," Hayley said firmly. "Kill me. Let my baby live."

"You're sure?" Edward asked, touching her arm gently.

"Yes, I am," Hayley said, touching the bump. "I love this baby, I won't give it up...You'll help me though, right?"

"Of course," I said, hugging the young girl. For the next two days we took care of Hayley and I formed a bond with her. This girl, I felt bad for her. She was so young, she was only twenty years old. A foster run away that was trying to make a living, and in the end was raped by an evil vampire. I don't get how the world can be so cruel?

Soon the day came where Hayley's spine broke and it was time to deliver.

"You'll take care of my baby, right? Protect them," Hayley said as she gripped to my hand.

"I won't. I promise I'll protect this baby with my life," I told her, kissing her temple as Edward began the procedure. After a couple of blood curdling screams later, Edward held up a beautiful baby girl in his arms.

"It's a girl," Edward said softly, placing her in Hayley's arms.

"She's so beautiful," Hayley cried. The baby cried as well as her mother's heart took it's last beat. I felt myself sob as I slowly took the baby out of Hayley's limp arms and into my own.

"She's at peace now," Edward whispered, wrapping his arms around me.

"She is," I said as I looked down at the beautiful baby in my arms. Hayley's last gift to the world. She had the same light reddish-brown hair and big blue eyes. "Her name will be Hayley. Hayley Eliza."

"It's a beautiful name," Edward said, kissing my cheek.

We buried Hayley in a cemetery and gave her a proper burial. After that Edward and my's anniversary was cut short as we returned home with the baby.

"She's beautiful," Esme gushed as our parents and siblings met our newest addition for the first time. We had just entered the home as they all crowded around us to get a first look at this baby girl.

"She is," I said as I kissed the top of her head. Hayley was currently curled up in Edward's arms, sound asleep. She looked so much like her mother and I'm so happy that she does.

"Are you adopting her?" Alice asked eagerly as she looked at the baby.

I smiled as I looked at Edward and then nodded with him. "Yes. Hayley's going to be apart of our family from now on."

"This is wonderful!" Alice squealed, clapping her hands together. "Off to decorate the nursery!"

"I'm proud for ya sis," Emmett said, giving me a pat on the back and taking a look at Hayley as Edward passed her on to Rose, who was gleaming at our new niece.

"Thank you, Em. I'm happy."

"Does Renesmee know? And the others?" Emmett asked as Rosalie now passed Hayley onto him.

"Yeah, she's coming up tomorrow to meet her. Just her though and Emalie. Jake and Seth are babysitting the kids," I said, chuckling as I remembered the phone call from my daughter earlier on.

"Well I can't wait to see what little Miss Hayley will bring to this family. I feel like this will be fun," Jasper said, grinning as we all looked at the beautiful baby girl.

Later that night I held Hayley in my arms as she slept with Edward's arms wrapped around me. I rested against his chest as we just watched the night sky. Even though I lost Hayley, this was the chance for Edward and I to finally raise a child together. Even though things like what happened to Hayley seem horrible, there is always something beautiful in the end.
