Ok idk how ToA ended so, Lester is back to being a god now. Probably just spoiled my own chapter but thought I should mention it
Hermione
The army was nothing like we had expected. It was larger than I could have imagined, larger than anything else we had fought before, filled with all matter of creatures. One particular being walked forward to the front of the army, followed by four others carrying something.
"I can't see shit from here," Percy grumbled and immediately started to walk away.
"I remember when he used to get mad at me for my language," Thalia said as if trying to lighten the mood. We all started to follow behind him, walking down multiple stairs, weaving through corridors. I'm surprised Percy knew where she was going considering we hadn't been here long.
It didn't take long until we were standing outside, I slow down as soon as I see the army. It looked so much larger in person. Percy stopped, but it looked as if he didn't want to as he stared down the army with determination looking straight into Voldemort's golden eyes as he ordered the men to lift the cover off the large object in the middle of the field.
It revealed a person, a young girl trapped in a cage. Her hands were shackled, her hair was a mess, her silver clothes were covered in dirt and torn. She was treated like an animal.
"Artemis," Thalia whispered. I looked towards, Thalia then back to the girl trapped in the cage. A goddess, that was a goddess I thought in disbelief.
A flash of light caused me to quickly shut my eyes, by the time I had opened them again four people stood between us and Voldemort/Kronos.
"Give me back my sister," one of them growled, he had golden hair and seemed to shine. I guessed he was Apollo.
"All in due time Apollo," Voldemort/Kronos sneered, "first I have an offer to make."
"You think you can negotiate, we will take her by force if need be," the only female of the four gods told him, her dress was a beautiful grey yet she somehow looked combat-ready. Percy inhaled a sharp breath, judging from his reaction to her I assumed it was Athena. Annabeth's mother.
"And I don't want that, now Athena you are after all the goddess of battle strategy. Tell me, when the opposing side has a hostage and you attack, what happens to the hostage?" he asked in taunting.
"They are killed almost immediately," she answered without hesitation.
"Yes and Apollo, tell me can a powerful magician destroy a god, or take their power and immortality and give it to someone else, if said god has been weakened?"
"Yes," he replied. Voldemort/Kronos smiled as the gods realised that he had the capability to kill Artemis. A woman wearing very elegant, non-battlefield clothes revealed herself from the enemy's army.
"Circe," the older male god said in shock. His features were familiar to me, they were the same as Percy's so it was Poseidon. I looked to the only other god among them radiating a different sense of power, Zeus.
"So, let us talk business," Voldemort/Kronos smiled in the victory he just achieved.
"What do you want?" Zeus snarled.
"If you stay out of this, not only will I not kill Artemis, but I will give you a place beneath me in the new world. I won't destroy your seats of power nor the other gods that are currently in power, but rather move them so that you would work for me. Your way of life would not be impacted. In return for your survival and a lack of torture for it, you will leave the mortals to fight their own battle for their survival. Those who submit to me will be spared. If you do not agree, I will kill Artemis and then give the rest of you a lifetime of misery, as well as kill the mortals. You have one day to decide," he finished.
He walked back towards his army, taking the imprisoned Artemis with him. The bronze bars of the cage slowly disappeared in the mass of his army. If they leave us to rot...what will happen? They weren't a part of our plan in the first place, but their army was a lot larger than we thought it would be.
The four gods turned around and faced us. "Son, let's go inside and talk," Poseidon said, leading the way into the school.
All I know, was things just got a lot more complicated.
