True to her word, Kagome called Sesshoumaru to set up a meeting place so they could play catch up. Getting her father to let her wander New York without an escort was a whole other story. When he 'suggested' she take said 'escort', she put her foot down. She had done fine without them for the first half of her life, the incident with the well not counting, she was sure she could survive without them.

So walking to the little bookstore cafe that was not in line of sight of her fathers tower, she observed the city life. It was... different. The streets were not as crowded as Tokyo, which allowed for some breathing room, the people much more dynamic. It was an interesting and nice contrast. But she still had pangs where she missed home.

Entering the store, she greeted Sesshoumaru and took a seat.

"Explain."

Smirking, Kagome shook her head. "A single word demand. How typical of you."

"And it will give you the chance to continue talking, something I recall you were more than fond of doing."

"Was that sarcasm?" narrowing her eyes on her companion for the moment, she leaned a little on the table. It was hard to tell. Especially with how he acted during her father's meeting.

"Merely stating an observation based on past experiences."

Snorting, Kagome turned to the waitress and ordered her drink of choice and then waited a few moments till the waitress left before beginning her tale. After sharing the simplified version of her tale, the two sat there in silence... Kagome fidgeting under Sesshoumaru's gaze as he weighed the information he just learned. It certainly explained a lot of things about the strange miko.

Letting out a sigh, Sesshoumaru dug through his briefcase and pulled out a new cellphone, only to hand it to said miko. "It has all 'our' contacts on it. And kindly tell your kit to stop badgering me. Perhaps he might keep all his tails if he can pester you directly. It goes without saying I would be less pleased if your... father... obtained our information."

Kagome could only blink as she took the cell, never having heard the taiyoukai say so much at once, even when he had begun teaching her how to defend herself. Her eyes only grew wider when he began to list a few things to provide privacy in her father's home, despite JARVIS. Today sure had been eventful.
