Chapter 626.
"Results from the pain."
(July 18. The Loud House.)
Day time has come, and we now see Lincoln Loud awakens from his slumber and then he looks around and then realizes something. "Right, I still have these dang casts on me. Well, this sucks." He then shifts out of bed, but then Luna sees him wake up.
"Lincoln!" She then helps him out of bed and then Patriot and Valkyrie move the hover chair towards him. "Bro, please don't do this on your own. I know you wanna do this without help, but know you need the help. Alright, bro?"
Lincoln nods and he adjusts himself onto the hover chair. "Yeah, sorry Luna. I just… I don't want you to be concerned with me in being like this and try this on my own, but you do have a good point. So, what do we have planned today, sis?"
Luna smiles. "Well, you still can't leave that wheel chair and so we're gonna do some big sister and little brother time, and of course I'm chill with Jordan tagging along, also you're phone has a notification."
They both look to what's on the phone and they see that it's a selfie image from last night. Simon and Stella both went on a date last night, and Stella is wearing a blue hoodie. "Huh, she almost looked like Ronnie Anne and Sid's friend, Nikki. Also, I wonder what's going on with the folks at Great Lakes City."
Luna sits onto the beanbag chair and so she tells Lincoln about what happened, since they all forgot to mention that to him when he woke up. "Alright, so after they got the cash back, they used it to save the zoo and make some major changes to the place."
"But they wanted to be kept up to date on when you were waking up, and we already informed them and chances they were told thanks to Lori, so who knows when they're gonna show up. It's mostly Sid and Ronnie Anne who wanna know, after all you dudes are friends together."
Lincoln smiles hearing this and then sighs in relief. "At least they got the cash back and now the Great Lakes City Zoo is not gonna have to close, and I'm doing alright. Chances they'll be here soon."
Luna chuckles, and she goes over and kisses his forehead. "I'm not sure about that one bro, we don't know if they are gonna plan to come…" Then they see a text message from his phone and they see who it's from.
Ronnie Anne. Lincoln, Lori told Bobby and then told me, and then I told Sid, and then she told her mom and now she's gonna escort us, along with Adelaide to come to your home. We're glad you're doing alright, and let's say that there's gonna be some major changes to the zoo when we get there and tell you guys.
Luna is wide eyed and Lincoln looks to her and smirks. "You were saying, sis?"
Luna chuckles. "Alright, alright. I guess we're gonna have some guests here to spend time with, but for now we should get ready for the day."
The duo then head to the bathroom, then Luna asks. "You want me to help you in there, bro?"
(Backyard.)
Lincoln is in the backyard and he has a tennis racket and he plays some tennis, alongside Jordan against Ronnie Anne and Sid. The duo came to visit them, since Lincoln is now wake and doing alright, sorta.
Ronnie Anne then makes the hit, but Jordan manages to counter and Sid and Ronnie Anne lost. "Dang, looks like you guys win this one" said Sid.
"We manage to beat Carl, CJ and Bobby with this, but we can't beat you guys?" asked Ronnie Anne.
Lincoln chuckles. "Sorry, Ronalda. But Jordan and I are aces when it comes to tennis, and also because we have been through our own sports times when it comes to dodge ball and we still ace it like champs."
Jordan goes over and fist bumps with Lincoln. "Heck yeah, and we are so gonna be the same pros when we make it back for our second time in Middle School, it's gonna be so awesome!"
Then Luna comes out with Michelle and her Black Panther Bernardo and they give them some sandwiches and iced tea. "Hey dudes, the rest of the sisters are doing their own thing and right now Lisa is keeping an eye on Lily" said Luna. She then hands them the sandwiches.
"Also, right now Mrs. Chang, along with Lana and Adelaide are headed to Ketcham Park to meet up with Delilah Silver and her mom, they wanna check on some of the Pokémon wildlife in there, and I think Lola went with them."
"Leave it to my mom and little sister to wanna go along with them to see the place" said Sid. She then eats a sandwich and she pets the Black Panther. "Always friendly, I like seeing him."
Michelle chuckles. "Bernardo is a good big kitty, but when it comes to Lola trying to make him pretty, then he evades her and makes sure she doesn't touch him. He doesn't wanna hurt her after all." She then pets Bernardo's head.
Then Lincoln looks towards Sid. "So, what's the new changes planned for the Great Lakes City Zoo?"
Sid then explains. "You guys are so gonna be hyped when we finish the new zoo changes. We're gonna take in the idea that Mark Warren and his parents have agreed with us, to add a deep sea section within the zoo and that they can provide for the creatures needed and then we can make the rules for that new kind of enclosure."
"We know that the zoo has a large aquarium and it's filled with so many fish from the ocean, but to add deep sea stuff is gonna be epic and also kinda scary and now with the extra cash, we can be able to bring in a bird species that we can help save, the blue Sphinx Macaw, and those are the birds I wanna save! Also, we're gonna have some Black Rhino's come along."
Ronnie Anne chuckles. "The zoo is gonna get one heck of a makeover, and chances Sergio will be seeing some more avians than before, and Mrs. Chang agreed, to let in an eagle species to live there, and it comes in the form of the Harpy Eagle, I don't know what that looks like."
Lincoln and Jordan are surprised, and same with Michelle and Luna. "Well, dang. That does sound awesome to know" said Jordan. "If we have the time, we're gonna go and check it out."
Sid nods. "Well tell you guys when the zoo is done with the new changes. For now we should… Wait, when are the eagles eggs hatching?!"
Lincoln chuckles. "Chill, Chang. That one is somewhere at either late in July or somewhere in August. For now, let's just enjoy this day together, all of us." They all continue to enjoy some talk, and then they begin to share words on what they would've done to the three bullies, wherever they are.
(Lynn's Table.)
The restaurant seems busy as usual, and right now we see Lori is helping out in managing the place, and then she sees Kotaro and Grant go around and bringing everyone the food they need. She then looks into the kitchen and sees her father, Lynn Sr is at his best in cooking, but he's not alone.
Also with him is Carol Pingrey. Since she won't be headed back to college until schools begin, she wants to take in a summer job and this is the summer job she's chill with, and she helps cook some of the tamales. But then we have another person.
The other person is Jessica Carson and she seems like a pro doing this, and she manages to slice the onions without a tear in her eye and she then goes to skinning the potatoes with one hand and her other hand is stirring the soup.
Lori goes over and sees how they're doing. "Well, well. Looks like you guys are all doing quite well. Glad to see Carol has some skills still within her, but I never thought Jessica was like this."
Jessica chuckles and then she helps in marinating the chicken. "My mom is to thank for that, she taught me how to cook and we also tried to do so for Roderick when he clearly never listened, but at least Angel is learning just as I did. Also this is kinda fun."
Carol then checks on the meatloaf and she gets it out of the oven. "It's always fun when cooking here, Jessica. As Lynn Sr here says…"
Lynn Sr then grabs his Lynnsagna and he makes a slice and puts it onto the plate. "It's not fun unless you have some fun cooking. Sometimes it's alright to be serious, but it's not so bad to just have some fun when doing it." He then hands Grant the dish and he brings it to the customer.
Lori then goes through the clipboard. "Well, we have the new steaks ready and the potatoes are gonna be resupplied soon once the delivery guy does come here, odd for him not to have come earlier."
Jessica then mentions something. "Right, Lori you weren't around earlier. So, I took the privilege and helped do a count on the cheese that would be needed for today's lunch rush and we're gonna be out of it soon and I called the local supermarket to come and deliver some cheese that we can use."
"I tried to call Mr. Loud's cheese guy, but he wasn't available and so I had to improvise and called in the local supermarket, which is the High n' Buy, they got some pretty good deals on some pretty good cheeses. Then I also called in for a delivery on chicken since the poultry guy didn't make it."
"Then I had to check on the plates and all of them seemed clean, but one had a crack on it and I knew we couldn't use it to be served and so I brought out one of the backup plates to take its place. Also the trash can was full and I had to find some way to toss out the leftovers from the other day."
Lynn Sr, Carol and Lori are surprised by what she had just said. "Wow…. Well, thanks" said Lori. "That's pretty impressive."
Jessica nods and then she goes to the walk-in freezer to get more beef. Then Carol goes over and asks Lori. "So, when we do go to college. Should we let her be the manager? The restaurant could use someone like her."
Lori thinks about this, she did hear that Mayor Davis has someone else to be her adviser and there might not be any good jobs for Jessica, and this gives Lori a moment to think. "You know what? That doesn't sound like a bad idea."
