Chapter 630.
"Camped 3."
(July 22, Camp Mastodon.)
Another great day at Camp Mastodon and with it, a new scoutmaster, Leonard Loud, the father of Lynnard Loud/Lynn Loud Sr and the grandfather to the rest of the loud kids, and they all enjoy the rest of their fun day here at Camp Mastodon, and they do so with the three legged-race.
We have Lynnard and his father Leonard, Jordan and Ryan, Luna and Sam, Lincoln and Simon, Lola and Lana, Luan and Lynn Jr, Rita and Michelle. Rick and Jesse. The others cheer for them as they are all at the starting line.
One of the camp staff members blows the whistle and all of them head off, and the ones ahead of them are Lynnard and his father Leonard and they both cheer as they run, but then they trip and the duo end up in a bramble of poison ivy, ouch!
The duo look to the poison ivy, and then they begin to cry and hug each other, as this reminds them of their past. The others chuckle at this. "Yup, a total resemblance" said Michelle. "Also, we should help them, like now." They go over and help them out and avoid the poison ivy.
(Moments Later.)
They're now at the medical ward, and Lynnard and Leonard are given some medical treatment for the poison ivy they ran into. As soon as they walk out they take in the fresh air. "Sure is nice to have this place back to the way it was once long ago" said Leonard.
"Dang right, dad" said Lynnard. "Also, thanks for being the new scoutmaster. This camp would be nothing without you, and the many great memories we made here."
Leonard chuckles. "All in good times, Lynnie. This place is way too good with memories to be shut down and I wanna see some more campers make amazing memories here, and who knows, maybe one of your kids would wanna be a camper here someday."
"Yeah." Lynnard then sees Lily playing amongst Lola and Lana, and she manages to make a bigger sandcastle, and this gives him the thought that Lily would be a great camper here, then he sees Rick Rosato helping some campers lift up the canoe so they can fix it, and he does so with some rope techniques and knots. The campers even do what he does.
Leonard notices the concerned face from his son. "Everything alright with you there, Lynnie?"
Lynnard looks towards his father. "Dad, did we meet someone named Richard Rosato and his father?"
Leonard is confused, and then he realizes. "Right, I think it's time to tell ya what happened. Come with me." Then he sees Rick, Lincoln and Jordan. "Hey, gang. Wanna come and see what I gotta show Lynnard here?"
Lincoln and Jordan are confused, but Rick knows. "Alright then, Mr. Loud. Come on kids, this is something you guys need to know and let's say Lynn Sr has a history with me back then." They all follow the elderly loud to the camp office.
(Camp Office.)
Leonard goes through the other boxes and then he finds something. Rick also finds something and they both call out. "Found it!"
Rick has a large box, and so does Leonard and they open them. "This is it, folks." Leonard then pulls out the many pictures of those who competed in the Camp ground games. "The great campers of old, and the ones who won so many to show that this camp is amazing and the alpha amongst all others!"
They look to the photo and they see Rick Rosato, with his father and they have won the games for the past 5 years, and they also notice that Lynn Sr with Leonard are also in the photo, but for only 2 of them.
Lynnard sees this. "Right, I was also there for the camping games and I wanted to do my part and helped. I don't recall why they wouldn't let me be part of the games anymore."
Rick and Leonard didn't wanna tell him, and so Leonard tells him. "Lynnie, I was good at helping out, and we both had fun… But, you weren't the best with camping ground games, and you nearly costed Camp Mastodon so many loses. A lot of the folks tried to show you that it was fine, and even Mr. Rinsler, but some didn't like you for nearly costing so many loses."
"You insisted that you wanted to become part of them, but you weren't good with all of them. Archery, Fishing, Canoeing, Zip Line and Flag Grab, Tug of war, swimming race and wall climbing. Richard here was the one who saved the whole thing by trying his hardest and at the last second too. He was motivated like a steam engine on a tug boat trying to haul the fishing barge."
"The ones you were good at were the three-legged race, and that was it. Other stuff at camping you were good at was either cooking, and the talent show, and we only one once, but they were good times and I had fun with you doing so. At least we had good fun times and made some memories."
Jordan sees the photos of her dad with trophies and Lincoln whistles at this. "Wow! Five wins, and you helped keep the school on top, wow!"
Rick chuckles. "Yeah, but then I had to go to Middle School and I wasn't there to try and help out to win for the camp."
"But someone else did" said Leonard. "From the records here, a kid who looked up to you won many of the games so that the whole thing would keep going, but he only won three times, and that held the record for the camp to win 8 times, then they lost the following games."
"Camp Mastodon is the only camp to have the record of wins, the last camp that had the record was 6 wins. The whole Camp was legend, but after 8 wins, the camp kept losing. Didn't seem like the old passion of camping was around after you and Jerry J. Tallyman left."
Rick sighs and he sees the kid known as Jerry. "Sure wish I'd know where he is and see how he's handling the whole…."
"He's gone." Jordan typed the name on her phone. "He didn't make it after his boat got destroyed out to sea, along with 5 other folks. They're lobster fishermen and he took the risk into the devastating storm."
They're all surprised to hear this. "Did not see that coming" said Leonard.
Lynnard then sees the photo of himself, hurt from tripping and Rick is tending to his bruised knee. "Wait, how come I don't recall you being there?!"
Rick then recalls and then he looks to Leonard who nods. Then the Rosato man tells him. "Lynn, after you wanted to be part of the games again, they said that you shouldn't participate, and then you wanted to try to get in and be part of it anyway and that went down with some bad consequences."
"You tried to sneak to the wall climbing event and take someone's place, but you ran towards the wall before I could go on and then you tried to climb. You were so close to hitting the bell, but then you're rope got snagged and then you started swinging around and collided with the other competitor."
"I think the kid's name was Stanley, and the two of you crashed onto the ground and we had to cancel the whole event, and continue the following day. You and the rival kid were sent off to be treated from what happened, and the camp didn't want you to come back until the following year."
"Also, the results were that you don't recall what happened and you don't recall me and you have been following me when I led the others on hiking trips with Mr. Rinsler. You had fun sure, but sometimes you're determined to do something, it doesn't turn out right and the other campers mocked you."
"I stood up for you and made sure the others would stop making fun of you, heck even Jesse who was a camper there helped out, and she showed her skills with cooking, tug-of-war and swimming. That's where I met her, and we both lived in Royal Woods, but I never knew you did too."
"When I met your son and the day we met, I thought you remembered me, but I guess you still don't. Sorry Lynn, but that's the truth and it kinda makes me feel bad for saying all of it and to just… Are you okay?"
Lynnard has tears and he looks at the photos of himself with his dad having fun, but then he looks to the photos of Rick and his dad, and the other photos of the camp games and Rick helping win for all five of them, and the photos of Lynnard being helped when his attempts failed, and Rick was there helping him.
He now sees that Rick Rosato is the one who has been trying to toughen him up, help him, keep him safe and also make sure the others wouldn't pick on him, and there's even a photo of Rick talking to Mr. Rinsler and three boys are being scolded and Lynnard is weeping and reeked of skunk.
Leonard sees that. "Oh boy, now this was a bad moment and glad you don't remember. You got skunked by three boys, I think the last names were…. Derrick Carson, Stan Stankco and some guy named Doug…. Something, something rock in the last name. Sorry, I can't recall his last name."
"Richard here saw you being picked on and sprayed by the skunk and he took them down and then reported what they did and those three boys were banned from camp and he helped comfort you from what happened. Dang, Richard here was a big brother figure to you, unlike you're brother who made fun of ya when we came back home."
Leonard then sees the confused and angered look from Lincoln and Jordan. "What? What did I say?"
"Those names! We know them, we faced them!" said Lincoln and Jordan. "We fought them and got them locked up."
Then Lincoln recalls. "I think Derrick Carson is gone for good? I don't know anymore."
Lynn then puts the photos down and he walks out the office and then he runs off to his cabin and cries. The others see this and the louds and everyone else looks to the others in the office. "Looks like we got a lot to tell the others" said Lincoln.
"I'll go and check on him." Leonard goes to check on his son and Rita also goes to check on her husband. They're gonna have a lot to tell them of what they found out. Michelle might not like this either.
To be continued in the next chapter.
A/N: Leonard Loud is now the scoutmaster, and now we know more about Rick Rosato and what he did with Lynnard back then, and the truth about the three boys, who are the ones locked up or not trouble anymore. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
