Chapter 637.
"The Abuelo clash!"
(July 29, Great Lakes City.)
A limo arrives and is parked not too far from the Casagrandes apartment. The group coming are Lincoln, Jordan, Mark, Angel, Ryan, Gretchen, Hope and Luna, and coming along with them is Albert, or Pop-pop to the loud kids.
"Well, this should be fun" said Albert. "My first time being here, and it does look peaceful and also calming." He then sees someone. "Hey Hotdog vendor, the best hotdog please."
Bruno then serves him the Great Lakes City special. "Here you go, let's hope you can handle it."
Albert looks to the hotdog with lots of toppings, and he eats it. He then burps and farts. "Hey, who stepped on a frog?" This makes the other's laugh and then Albert pays for his food, and then orders another one.
They all walk to the Casagrandes apartment, but then something comes into the sidewalk and it sounds like a motorbike and they see the old guy, who almost looks young riding it. "Whoa. Who the heck is that old dude?" asked Luna.
Albert chuckles. "Well, that guy sure looks cool." He then eats his hotdog and farts again. "Who stepped on a frog again? Seriously, where are they coming from? The other chuckle to this and so does the biker man.
"Hey there man, that was a pretty good joke, and also impressive with eating that hotdog. I also ate something like that, but with way more toppings." He takes off his helmet and shakes hands with Albert. "Good to see you, the names…"
"Grandpa Danny!" they all see, the folks coming out of the Apartment who called his name: Carl, CJ and Carlota. Bobby and Ronnie Anne also follow out to meet this cool old dude.
The cool looking old dude, also known as Grandpa Danny smiles at the sight of his grandkids, and grandnephew and grandniece. "Hey, grandpa danny is here, kids. Also, I brought you guy's presents." He revs up his ride, and cash comes out from where the smoke should be and it rains down on the kids.
The Casagrandes cheer from this and snag some of the raining cash. Carl mostly, as he embraces the large wad of cash. "My favorite kind of present. I'll never grow out of it!"
This surprises the others from Royal Woods. "Wow. Cash inside of a bike?" asked Gretchen. "That is a first and pretty awesome too. Which makes me question, how the heck is it not getting roasted from the exhaust?"
Jordan then sees the big picture here. "Oh, I get it now. This guy must be the grandfather to Carl, CJ, Carlitos and Carlota. Which also means, Grandpa Danny must be the dad of Frida, I mean…. Look."
They see as Frida comes out and sees Danny. "Papa!" she then places Carlito on the head of CJ and he carries his baby brother. Then she goes over, with tears and she hugs her father, and Danny hugs his little girl, and the others notice their hair and head shape.
"Huh, now that does make sense" said Lincoln.
"Mi amoresito, I got you these fancy tissues, and I thought of you." Danny hands her the box of tissues.
Frida takes one of the tissues and she wipes her face with it and she has stars in her eyes. "They feel like silk pillows and they smell like cotton candy!" She squeals with joy from this.
Then Danny hugs his grandkids, and they all missed him. "Heh, I missed you guys too, and Carlota you gotten taller and you're more stylish than those celebrities I worked with."
Carlota giggles and blushes from how nice that compliment was. "Grandpa Danny, stop….. But, which celebrities actually? Are they from movies I know?"
Then Danny goes over to Bobby and Ronnie Anne. "Ah, you two must be Bobby and Ronnie Anne. Heck, you two can call me Grandpa Danny too, or you can call me…" He then kneels down and shows them what he has on his back. "Number one grandpa."
There is something stitched to his jacket, and it's says: Number 1 Grandpa." Danny then gets up. "Now, bring it on everyone."
They begin to chant "Number 1 Grandpa" over and over, and then Danny notices the louds and the others from Royal Woods. "Well, well. Look what we got here, I knew you kids looked familiar, the Royal Woods Eagle Champions, and there are the birds themselves."
Patriot and Valkyrie land onto the shoulders of Lincoln and Jordan, and then coming in is Apollo, Raptor, Freya and Artemis. "Dang, didn't think birds from Royal Woods were that big, and that cool looking." He fist bumps with the Staraptor and the Talonflame, and they wear some cool shades.
"Thanks sir" said Lincoln. "Also, that is one cool bike. Are you a stunt man?"
Danny chuckles. "The heck I am, the best there is and I have been in many movies, heck I even stunt for the bad guy role in some Fast and Furious movies. Not easy to notice, and from what I heard, I think I'm getting a thug role in the new one."
They all have stars in their eyes. "So awesome!"
Then Albert looks to the bike. "Well, I'll be. This is one sweet modified Harley. You made her look like she still runs and revs through the highway more than 200 miles an hour, and the paintjob makes her feel young too."
Danny smirks and goes towards Albert, they shake hands and they fist bump. "Hey man, cool words there. You did some biking back then too?"
Albert chuckles. "Sorta, if a military motorbike counts, along with some tanks, jets and an amphibious transport and also a jeep, with only three wheels while racing through the jungle. Also, the name's Albert Willard."
Danny claps. "Wow. That does sound cool, a veteran who knows his rides and knows how to be extreme. I am honored to meet you Albert, also cool tattoo, navy man I see."
"You too stunt man" said Albert. "Being a soldier and stuntman are both extreme life styles."
Danny chuckles. "Hey, I like this guy already. You're alright with me, and possibly an awesome grandpa too!" They both fist bump and pose as cool dudes with shades. This makes them have stars in their eyes and all saying. "So cool!"
But they don't notice Hector upset at this. "Hmp, I can be cool too."
(Later.)
After performing some handstand style push-ups, they all go into the apartment, and Rosa is not around. She's busy shopping for some new tools and supplies for when she needs to fix something, and she brought her son Carlos with her.
Hector comes into the apartment, and he has snacks for the kids, but then he smells something delicious and he goes into the kitchen, and he sees all of the kids, and the ones from Royal Woods with food on their plates, and the one cooking is Danny, and with some help from Albert.
Danny then parkours from the wall to the floor and he does so as he tosses the crepe into the air and then catches it. Albert chuckles. "Let's see you try this."
Albert tosses the crepe into the air and then he tucks, rolls and does a break dance, and then he has the pan ready and the crepe lands inside, and this makes Danny clap. "Very impressive, you did this long ago?"
Albert nods. "Back when you had to dodge bullets and enemy fire, and also cook at the same time. Though, I think that stuff happened when I was hungry for a midnight snack."
They all chuckle at that and see Hector come in. "Check it out Abuelo, Grandpa Danny made us crepes, which he learned from the last movie set he worked on."
"It was one of Vivi Powers Movie, Crepes of Wrath" said Ronnie Anne, she then eats her crepe and high fives with Jordan and Gretchen.
"Want a Crepe Hector?" asked Danny as he hands Hector a pan with a fresh and delicious crepe. "This one is still fresh and warm, and filled with good protein too."
"I can make my own creep." Hector takes the pan from Danny. "Excuse me, I mean Crepe." He tosses, like he just tossed the pan into the air and then it comes back, hits him in the head and Hector is done, and then the crepe lands on his face, then Danny and Albert help him up.
"You okay there, Hector?" asked Albert. Then Lalo takes the crepe off of the face of Albert, and he doesn't like this.
(Moments later.)
The whole group comes out of the apartment, after a very awkward and embarrassing rap battle, which Grandpa Danny won, and Hector was a total fool and Albert notices this. "Alright, so we're gonna get some froyo, and then come back here and I can tell you guys about the other stuff I did" said Danny.
He then goes for his bike. Hector then has an idea. "How about we take the GLART? Faster way to get to the froyo place, of course."
Danny thinks about this. "Hmm, does sound tempting. But I wanna take the scenic route, and with the grandkids too!" He then pushes the button on the bike, and two sidecars pop out. The Casagrandes all go over and ride the side cars.
Lincoln and the others are impressed. "Wow. Now that is a modification, dang wish we had that back then. We're gonna take the limo" replied Albert.
Danny then gives the grandkids helmets and goggles. "Safety first kids!" Even Lalo is onboard. "Wait, anyone know where that parrot is?"
Ronnie Anne tells him. "Sergio is with Abuela, they went off to shop alongside Tio Carlos. No clue when they'll be back, chances Sergio might wanna buy something… Again." This makes the others groan in annoyance.
Danny scoffs. "Guys that parrot needs to stop with the wasting stuff. He's gonna get into more trouble." He then looks to Hector. "You want a life, Hector? There's more space in the right side with Lalo."
Hector scoffs. "No thank you, I am going to the limo." This confuses the others and they see Hector is inside and looks around the fancy limo. "This isn't so bad."
He's about to touch the button, but Ryan stops him. "Sir please don't." They then drive off and deep down, Hector is not feeling easy about any of this.
'I am a cool grandpa, and I am way better than that bobo. Danny might think he's cool with his stunts, but I can do better, I can beat him!'
Albert notices this. "Hector, are you feeling alright?" But he gets no response, as Hector has his arms crossed and looks out the window, and deep down, Albert can see what the big deal might be about.
(Later.)
They all come back and enjoyed the froyo, and then Albert begins to whisper towards Danny, and the duo go to the elder Casagrande, and they try to talk to him. The others notice this and they go over to speak with him.
"Hey, Hector." Danny speaks with him. "I noticed, and same with Albert, that you've been acting up. Does this have something to do with me being the better grandpa or something old man?"
Hector gets off the couch. "Old! You're the one who's old! We're both old and same with Albert here! You guys think you're both so cool with the stuff you do. This is making me look bad, and I don't like it one bit."
Albert wants to say something, but then he realizes. "He isn't wrong. We're all old, well older than Danny technically. I mean, his hair ain't grey yet. Also, I'm not trying to be cool, I'm just impressed and wanna show Danny the other stuff… Huh, you know it does sound like I'm being cool."
Danny chuckles at Hector. "Hector? This is ridiculous. All this time, you've been competing against me for the attention of the kids…." He then goes close. "You don't stand a chance anyway, old man."
"Old man!" Hector is outraged by this. "Danny, you're older as I am and same with Albert, and I already pointed that one out!"
Danny chuckles. "Well, not according to your hairline, well some of your hairline." He then sees the limo driver walk in with a froyo. "Can an old man do this?" He carries the driver like a dumb bell, and then his mustache does the same towards the coffee table and the TV and he puts them all down.
The driver is confused by what just happened. "I'm gonna, go back to the limo now."
"Big whoop!" Hector then looks towards Lalo. "Check this out!" He then lifts up his very large, and heavy dog. He manages to lift up Lalo, but gets crushed by the large dog.
Danny chuckles seeing this. "Fine, if it's a competition you want. Then may the coolest grandpa win." He picks up Lalo from Hector and lets him stand with the others.
Hector tries to catch his breath. "You're… going…. down."
The others are surprised at what was going to happen and Albert. "Umm, this wasn't what I was expecting from you guys. Let's try not to…"
Danny looks to Albert. "Hey Al, wanna be part of this thing?!"
Albert looks to the others, they all shrug and have no clue if this is even a good thing, Albert smirks and chuckles. "Oh what the heck? Let's do this thing! Grandpa battle! But not an actual fight, just a contest."
Round 1: Spice it up, man!
They head to the Mercado, where they watch as the three old men eat three extra spicy peppers. Hector seems to withstand it, but Danny doesn't and runs off looking for some milk and Albert hands him some yogurt, but they see Albert is eating five more. "This stuff isn't so bad, reminds me of my youth."
They're all jaws dropped from this, even Hector. "Those are the spiciest peppers we have!" Danny on the other hand is busy drowning himself in yogurt and milk. Jordan adds the point, for Albert.
Round 2: Fish it home!
They go to the lake outside of town and watch as Hector catches a fish, but then Danny surfaces with an even bigger one. But then Albert comes out of the water, with some bruises and he drags out a fish the same size as Danny's, but he kick the belly and the fish spits out a few more fish.
Danny is surprised and even Hector. Jordan then put another point, for Albert.
Round 3: Can you prune it!
The three old guys are back at the apartment and are drinking a large bottle of prune juice called "Mr. Prune." But Danny can't hold it and goes to the bathroom, and this makes Hector laugh, but now he has to go to. But they all look towards Albert.
"How are you still standing?" asked CJ.
Albert chuckles. "Ah, that ain't nothing. I once drank a whole gallon, and I didn't use the bathroom after one hour. Got me a gut of steel, why else would I be able to survive eating spicy food?" He then burps.
Jordan adds another point for Albert. "Well, now we know where Lynn Jr got the iron gut, and everything else inside of her" said Lincoln. "I think pop-pop is gonna win this one."
Round 4: Mustache-mania!
The next round is a three way mustache arm wrestling, and though it looks like Danny is gonna win. Albert mustache fights back and knocks both out, but the result causes Hector's mustache to get ripped off, and he screams in pain.
Danny smirks. "Well, well. Looks like we got ourselves a big standoff, even though Albert seems to be winning, and I am impressed old geezer."
"Thanks for that Danny" replied Albert. "Alright, so what do we do now?"
(Outside.)
They're all on the roof, and Danny is on his bike and wearing his shades and helmet. "Don't try this at home kids! Now count me down everyone!"
"Tres! Dos! Uno! Blast off!" The old man on the bike rides off at full speed and he leaps over the ramp, and yells with glory as he's airborne and then lands onto the other roof and safely. They all cheer.
"I applaud you Grandpa Danny!" said Bobby as he claps at the awesomeness.
"Watch this, everyone!" They all see Albert jump off the building, and this shocks them. But then he comes back up and riding a wing suit. "Yeah! Call me, the extreme grandpa of all…. Hey, I can see Sunset Canyon from here! I see Myrtle, beating Scoots at shuffle board, you go sweetheart!"
Albert flies around them, and with the eagles by his side and he does some aerial moves. This makes Lincoln and Jordan chuckle. "Classic skydiving…. Wait, did he had that wing suit under his clothes this whole time?"
Danny is impressed and has stars in his eyes. "Well, what do you know? That old guy has got more extreme and coolness than me! You go Albert!" He then looks to Hector. "So, what do you got up your sleeve, old man?"
Hector growls at those challenging words. "Oh, I got something you two can't do!"
(Later.)
They make it to the bull ranch within the city, and Hector is in his old attire from when he was young and he rides around on the back of an angry bull and they all cheer. "Hey, Abuelo is pretty good!" said Carl.
They all cheer for him, and even Danny. "Dang, I gotta say. He may be older than me, but he can ride that bull like a pro. He looks young doing that… Wait, how tight are those clothes on him?"
The gold buckle on the belt comes off, and hits the bull in the back of the head and the bovine is angry and shakes him off so hard, he lands straight through the wooden wall of the arena. They all yell. "Oh!" Albert cringes from that. "Wow. Reminds me of my biggest mistake, skateboarding and drinking lemonade, not the best option."
But then they see the pants of Hector come down, and his red underwear is seen, and this makes the bull super angry. "Oh no." And direct hit! That had to hurt! They all go over and check if he's okay.
Angel Carson on the other hand is confused. "Wait, I thought bulls were color blind on the color red?"
(Later.)
They all go back to the apartment, and Hector has a lot of bandaging on his rear end. Danny, Albert and the others go over to check on him. "Sorry you got hurt, Hector. But that stuff you did, was just as about extreme as we did, even though that last bit didn't seem to be with purpose" said Danny.
"Seriously, Hector. Find some way to wear clothes that would fit, don't stick with the young stuff" said Albert. "Unless it's a leather jacket, those still fit."
Hector sighs. "Yeah, I did went too far with that one. I just don't wanna be left out and see the kids look to me as the cool grandpa. I guess Danny and Albert wins this, they're the cool grandpas here."
Danny felt bad for him. "Hey, man. Don't beat yourself up over this. Just cause you can't do stunts and ride a motorbike doesn't mean you're not cool too. I mean, you got your own skills here in your own home. I mean, you managed to keep this family in check and help out, right?"
"Plus, you run a Mercado where everyone knows you and are your closest friends, like that guy with his dogs who try and sample some stuff, or that lady who keeps complaining about the mangoes and…. I question some of those folks, but you seem to handle them just fine."
Hector chuckles. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Maybe I was just overreacting. We're both cool grandpa's here and sorry about this challenge, and also planning to have you get lost on the express."
Danny chuckles. "Hey, if here's anyone who wins this, that would be Albert and… Wait, what was that last part?"
Albert then goes over. "Guys, I'm only the cool grandpa to my kids back home, and I share the title with Leonard Loud too. I just wanted to look good and show you guys that this old bones still got it, and you know what? We old bones still got it!"
"Oh yeah!" The three old guys high five and stand tall with shades and look cool and holding the name of "Number 1 Grandpa!" but then Hector falls because his rear still hurts. "Alright, cool grandpa motorbike ride is on!" said Danny.
They all head outside, and they see Danny and Hector in the motorbike, and the side car. "Wow! We have two cool Abuelo's!" said Carl.
"You got that right!" said Hector. "Now, let's take this girl for a spin!"
Danny cheers. "Abuelo locos forever!" Then he looks to Jordan and Ryan. "Wait, what about your grandpas?"
Jordan. "They passed away years ago."
Ryan. "I never knew mine, and I think they also passed away years ago."
They all remain silent and look to Danny who had to ask, he seems awkward for saying that and he lowers his shades. "Oh, I am so sorry I asked and I did not mean any disrespect, I am sure they were pretty cool dudes too. Umm, let's ride!" They watch them drive off and cheer for them, but then the same bull comes in and rams them away.
They're all jaws dropped by that, then Rosa comes back. "Hello everyone, and Albert. So, what did I miss?"

A/N: My take on the Casagrandes episode "Battle of the Grandpa's!" But with Albert involved, this was fun to make and the episode was funny, it hurt to see Hector lose that mustache though. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
Also, I came up with the names of the challenge. It seemed to fit it right.
