Chapter 644.
"Leni's childhood friend."
(August 5. The Loud House.)
We now see Leni Loud in the room she shares with Luan, and she's wearing something she doesn't normally wear, but she is darn serious at what she's doing right now.
Leni's attire: pink t-shirt, inside of a teal long-sleeve jacket teal jeans with white shoes that have green bows, pink bracelets and her pink hooped earrings. She tied her hair into a ponytail.
Leni goes through any information about when Kurt Logann would arrive into Royal Woods, and right before the big race coming this Saturday. She tries to look for any information about the guy she met long ago. Leni then stops and she looks to her white sunglasses and she smiles.
These white sunglasses are truly special to her, she would have backups but she would never lose or replace the ones she always wore, and she rarely wore them so that they can be safe. But why are they so sentimental to Leni?
(Flashback.)
It's the summer of 2008, and at Ketcham Park and right now, we see this girl and she looks scared at what she's doing. Leni Loud, she's on a tree branch, sitting and she looks around in tears. "Hello? Anyone! Please, someone help me! I can't get down!"
Why the heck is the airhead Leni sitting on this dang tree branch? Well, Leni was wandering the Park earlier, and then she went to help this crying girl, who is a year younger than her, and her kite was stuck and so Leni climbed the tree and got the kite out.
The girl thanked her and went off to play with her now returned and freed kite, but then it got into Leni's head, that she doesn't know how to get down from the tree. She's too afraid and she's not as brave as her older sister, Lori.
Leni continues to cry for help, and as she does this, her glasses fall off and land onto the grass below. "Hey!" Leni stops and she sees this boy, about her age and he has light brown hair, a grey buttoned shirt and light blue shorts along with white socks and light blue sneakers. "Are you okay?"
Leni wipes away her tears, but she continues to cry. "N-No! I don't know how to get down! I'm scared!"
The boy then begins to climb up. "Hang on, I'm gonna come and help." Leni can only do is watch as the kid climbs and then makes it towards her. "Here take my hand and let me guide you. Come on, it won't be hard. I'm here."
Leni didn't feel right about doing this, and she is still scared, but she wants to get down from the tree branch, and so she accepts the boys hand and she slowly follows his lead. She watches his feet taking each step around the tree and she does the same.
Soon, the boy along with Leni reach ground level. "Thank you, you were really…" Then Leni hears a crack sound and she looks down, and so does the boy. As if being stuck on a tree was bad enough for Leni, she accidently stepped on her limited edition, white sunglasses. "No... No, no. My sunglasses!"
Leni begins to sob as she looks to her now broken glasses, she then kneels down and she takes the pieces and cries, and the boy didn't like seeing her upset, he then has an idea. "Hey, how about you join me and my family? We're having this awesome barbeque picnic and…"
But Leni just cries as she holds her busted up white sunglasses. The boy can tell, that those sunglasses mean a lot to this girl. He then checks his pocket and he does have some cash. "Come on." He offers her his hand. "Let's go and have those patched up."
Leni is confused by this boy, but she accepts the hand and follows him. They head away from the Park, and reach a gas station, and today that gas station is no longer there and is nothing more than a restaurant.
The duo go inside and they look around to the sunglasses, but the boy sees none of the glasses are good enough, but when he does see the same white sunglasses, he sees the price. "Dang, that is what I call overboard." He looks to the girl who cries as she has her broken sunglasses.
The boy then looks to the cash he has left, and then he sees something else. "That could work."
Leni then sees the boy getting something else, and then he goes back to her and they head out of the gas station. They return to the Park, and they sit by some picnic benches and the boy begins to use what he got to fix the white sunglasses. He bought some white duct tape.
Leni watches as this boy begins to fix the busted up sunglasses and soon, they were repaired, luckily the black glass of the shades aren't broken, and it was just the rest of the white parts that cracked and bent. "There, good as new." The boy then places the sunglasses on her head.
Leni smiles seeing this, she goes over and hugs the boy. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!"
The boy blushes and smiles. "Yeah… No problem." They then depart from the hug. "You know, my family is having a picnic. Do you wanna come along?"
Leni smiles. "Sure, I'd love too, and thank you again for fixing my sunglasses. You're so nice, kinda like my little sister and my baby brother."
Kurt nods. "You're welcome. Also, what's your name?"
Leni smiles and blushes. "Leni…. My name, is Leni Loud."
The duo then walk towards the picnic, where the boy would introduce the girl to his parents and they were proud of their son for what he did, and his dad was more proud of him for using his wits and his skills to help others and find a way to make things right.
Childhood friendships are beautiful since it's very easy to make a friend. The days that soon followed, Leni and this boy, whom he told her his name is Kurt Logann. They hung out and enjoyed having so much fun as the summer kept on going.
They flied kites, drank flippies and are just having fun wandering around the town and getting to know each other, and Kurt was surprised that she has a lot of siblings, little siblings and one big sister. Leni was happy for the boy to help and show her on how to understand everything around her.
Though, Leni would act all silly and naïve and this didn't bother, embarrass or anger Kurt. He was fine with her, and would laugh with Leni and not at her. He knows that she is a sensitive and kind-hearted girl, that has a lot to learn and as the summer went on, he wanted to help her through it.
But when the final day of summer came for Kurt, Leni went to visit him at the hotel that the boy and his parents were staying at. This was the last time they would meet, and Leni got a big surprise from the boy, he got her a gift to remember him by, what was that gift?
White, round sunglasses… But, they were kinda too big for her, and would end up falling onto her face and onto her eyes and this would make them both chuckle and laugh a bit. Leni loved them, even though they are mean for a grownup.
Leni made this promise towards him. "I promise, that I won't wear any kind of sunglasses and that I would wear other sunglasses over this one and keep them safe and unbroken… So I would never ever forget you."
They spend the rest of the remaining summer day, wandering around the Park, watching clouds and birds go by, drink some flippies and fly some kites. Then Leni would show Kurt the photo of herself and her family, and she wished she could show him to her family, but Kurt was alright with it.
Then as the day ended, Leni waved one last time, as Kurt Logann and his parents boarded the camper and then drove off as the sunset over the horizon. Leni would never forget him, and though she is a forgetful gal at times… Those sunglasses, were the sole reminder for her to never ever forget the boy she became friends with.
(End Flashback.)
Leni looks to her white-round sunglasses and she smiles at them. 'I forgot to mention him to the others, I guess I totally forgot about that one… But, I always kept remembering about him. That is the sole reason why I would never ever want these to be broken, or lost…'
Then she sees the info she's been searching for is revealed and she looks into where this guy is, and she covers her mouth and has tears in her eyes. "Kurt…."
(Pertland Mansion.)
At the Pertland Mansion, someone walks out of his room, and is wearing a light blue shirt, black hoodie jacket with the logo of his racing team, blue jeans and white and green sneakers. He goes through his text messages and smiles.
"Mom and dad. I hope I can see them soon, when this race is over then I am so gonna go back home and spend some time with them… But, now… I need to know if she's still here and if she still remembers me."
The guy, is Kurt Logann. The guy walks out as the elevator has reached the lobby. He then puts his phone away and he leaves the hotel, and then stops when he sees someone.
Right there, near her teal Porsche is someone he was looking for. "Leni?"
The 18 year old then looks towards Kurt, and she looks to all of his features and is shocked. "Kurt, it… It is you… Kurt you're…."
Kurt and Leni go close to each other, and they look to each other, as they both have grown up, and then a flashback comes.
The duo are young and it's 2008, and they look to each other one last time and Leni hugs the boy, while Kurt returns the hug and then Leni whispers. "I'll never ever forget you, Kurt Logann."
Young Kurt smiles, and he also whispers. "One day, Leni…. One day, I'll be back and then we can be friends again. Always." But deep down, they both had some feelings for each other, feelings that would soon shape who they are.
Now we go back to the present and Leni is now hugging him, with tears in her eyes. "I never forgot you, I never did."
Kurt blushes, but he smiles and then returns the hug. "Well, I told you that one day we would meet again, and we did. I missed you, Leni."
The duo stay like this, and then his manager comes out of the hotel, Janette Wilder. "Kurt, the practice for you will be on…" she sees the blond woman hugging Kurt, and then she recalls what he once told her and she smiles. "I'll talk to you later."
Janette goes back into the hotel with a smile on her face. "Well, at least now he doesn't have to worry about looking for Leni Loud." She switches her glasses for her shades and she goes over and speaks to the owner of the place, the mother of Hope Pertland.
While outside, Leni and Kurt depart from the hug and look to each other, the duo blush and chuckle. They both speak in unison. "We have so much to talk about."
To be continued.
