Prologue

"Haha! Come and get it, foreign girl!"

Illya glared at the two boys who held her magical girl plushie. "Give it back you meanies!" she cried as she tried to tackle them.

Only for the boys to dodge out of the way of her pitiful lunge, causing her to fall on the ground flat.

"Hah! You missed! Try again!"

Illya stumbled to her feet as tears welled in her eyes. "Give it back!" she shouted louder, her heart thumping and her synapses firing rapidly.

The two boys, a normal-looking brown-haired boy and a boy with slitted eyes, grinned as they egged her on. "Come and get it!"

"Give it back... You meanies!" she shouted even louder before as pink energy started to circulate her being. The wind started to lash out too, causing the boys to briefly panic as small bruises started to form on their skin.

"Ah!" they shouted.

Yet, before the energy could be properly collected and channeled, it dissipated as Illya's eyes rolled to the back of her head. Her body collapsed forwards, hitting the ground for the second time of the day.

Silence reigned for a moment before the boys looked at each other and then around them, seeing the numerous stares of other children.

"Oh God!" one of the only adults near them shouted as they ran over.

Illya walked down the path paved to her by golden transparent stars. Her small 10-year old feet stumbling a bit as walked it. Her heartbeat was fast, hammering with fear and confusion. "H-Hello?!" she called out, braving her fear as darkness surrounded her. "H-"

Before she could continue to call out, she was tackled by someone, forcing her on her back. "Wah!"

"Was I this cute back then?!" an eerily familiar voice rang in her ears as she felt someone press themselves against her. "Call me nee-chan!"

Illya, meanwhile felt herself getting more dizzy and confused. Eh?! What's happening?!

"Illya-chan! Don't strangle yourself!" a new voice called out with a loud and merry voice.

"Eh? Oh! Sorry!"

Illya felt the person holding her release themselves from her, allowing her to see who exactly tackled her. Only to find a look-a-like of herself but older.

"Eh?" she muttered in utter confusion as she felt herself become dizzy by it.

"Hello, Illya! My name is Illyasviel!" the newly introduced Illyasviel revealed with a giggle, utterly excited at what was transpiring.

Now, if Illya was allowed to faint in her mind, she would've done so at this very moment as her brain began to fry itself.

Even the reader may be a bit confused.

"Wait... So you're me but from another world...?" Illya asked for clarification. "Where I became... A magical girl?"

Illyasviel von Einzbern gave Illya a big smile. "Yup! Isn't that cool?!"

It took a few moments but eventually, the five-year-old Illya gained a big awe-inspired smile. "That's so cool!" she gaped in awe.

"Fufu! And it was all thanks to your neighborhood-friendly Ruby!" Ruby, the owner of the other voice, boasted as it flew about excitedly, its shaft bending in mysterious ways to convey the excitement.

Yes, the magical stick was talking much to Illya's almost unending awe.

"Pretty cool, ain't it?" Illyasviel said with a small smile. She then scratched the back of her head a bit sheepishly, a bit embarrassed at what she will say next. "You wanna learn... How to be one?" she asked.

Illya's eyes shined with growing enthusiastic excitement. A beating sensation hammered in her chest at the prospect of becoming like her idols.

Sure, heroes were great and all but magical girls were the best!

"Yes!"

Illyasviel smiled as she leaned in and kissed Illya's forehead. "Thus, the contract is formed."

Illya's face flushed red at the sudden intimate contact. Embarrassment and confusion briefly setting in once again. "Eh?!"

Before anything else could be said, however, a bright light consumed Illya's vision. The light illuminating the dark imaginary world.

Left with only Ruby, Illyasviel merely giggled as a sober smile took hold. "I am glad I love magical girls in this world," she said in a melancholic relief.

"You sure you don't want a full possession?" Ruby inquired without its usual chirpy tone.

"Yeah... I don't want to take over someone without consent... We don't even know why we were summoned..." she muttered as she dangled her legs on the starry platform.

"You do know that you will gradually integrate into her, right?" Ruby inquired. "It will take a year but eventually your memories will merge with her's!"

"I know..." Illyasviel muttered. "Are you sure we can't extend it?" she asked.

Ruby thought for a moment, seemingly trying to calculate as to determine whether it would be possible. "We can't, her body and soul will not be able to take it."

Illyasviel lowered her head in melancholy. "Then..." she muttered as a soft smile formed on her face. "We'll make her the happiest version of me!"

"Illya-chan! Illya-chan! Are you alright?!"

Illya's eyes fluttered open upon the constant barrage of noise assaulting her ears. Her ruby eyes showing confusion at her situation.

"Answer me, Illya-chan! Are you alright?!"

She groaned a bit, her mind a mess, and jumbled. "What's happening...?" she asked.

"You collapsed when you were playing with the boys," the person holding her explained. "Are you hurt anywhere?"

Her eyes widened as realization struck her, her dream being fully remembered. "Magical girl!" she shouted in what was akin to excitement.

Confused at her outburst, the person gave her a questioning look. "Is that a code, or...?"

Illya was about to explain her dream until she stopped herself. For a voice echoed in her mind, her voice.

Wait! Wait! Wait! Don't explain it! Just talk about your favorite magical girl!
