"Ah...here we are." Totodile said as they arrived to where their base originally was before becoming a ship.
"I didn't realize there were operations happening on the Air Continent." Aelita said.
"Air Continent?" Wendy asked.
"This world is divided into seven lands. Water Continent, Air Continent, Grass Continent, Mist Continent, Sand Continent, the Sea of Wonders and Mystery Continent. I read up on it during our days in the guild." Aelita said.
"That's a pretty interesting bit of history. What continent is Team Sky's guild based on?" Zephyr asked.
"We were based on Grass Continent." Riolu said. "And Oshawott and his allies were based in the Mist Continent."
"Hey...there they are!" Theo said as they saw David arrive.
"Sorry we're late. Finding those guys was actually the hard part, it turned out." David said.
"Well you're all here now, and that's all that matters." Selena said.
"Seems Cheetah's ranks have increased since the last time we saw...whoa!" Hope said, seeing a colorful looking bird. "How long has this thing been with your groups?"
"Huh?" Yangus said before looking. "Cor Blimey! We didn't even notice he was here!"
"Oh, hey! Xatu!" Totodile said.
"So...he's a friend?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah. It's so rare to see him this close to town and not looking out into the sunset. I get it...you're here cause you've heard about our many achievements. Well guess it couldn't be…" Meowth said.
"Kwaaah!" Xatu screeched as they were startled. "Wrong! Shopping in Pokemon Square is what I came to do. I only came here cause it was on the way. This meeting is not important."
"Whoa, calm down, man. We're just visiting this place too. Well, kind of." Jesse said.
"Weird, usually Xatu is a Pokemon that stands still all day due to its chronovision." Simon said.
"You mean how it can see the past and future at the same time? Yeah, Kasumi and the others told us about that too." Sachiko said.
"That is only if I stand still. Even I must leave for supplies now and then." Xatu said.
"Hey, Xatu! There you are!" a voice called out as a Blastoise approached. "I didn't know you'd be here. You had me looking."
"A Blastoise? Is he…" Hope asked.
"Yeah. He's the leader of Team Hydro, a firefighting rescue team." Totodile whispered.
"What is it?" Xatu asked.
"Well um...to the northeast of Mt. Thunder...there's a gigantic cave. There wasn't anything like that before, hey? So I thought you might know something." Blastoise said.
"Kwaaah!" Xatu screeched, startling them. "I shall call it...the Meteor Cave."
"Why that?" Papelne asked.
"It was when Rayquaza destroyed the falling star. Its broken pieces...they scattered across the sky. One tumbled to the earth. It fell into a mountain and made the cavern you speak of." Xatu said.
"Wait, wasn't that from that one time Kasumi and the others confronted Rayquaza?" Leia asked.
"And now it's turned into a dungeon." Azura said.
"Blastoise...did you have a chance to look inside?" Pikachu asked.
"Uh...yeah. Just a little. But the things inside...there were these weird things crawling around. It freaked me out. I couldn't stay for long." Blastoise said.
"These things probably stowed away on the falling star or they were possibly created after it was destroyed." Mari said.
"Wait wait wait...are you trying to say they're...aliens?" Kazuma said.
"That does seem to be the case. A piece of that meteor broke off and landed, after all. It wouldn't be surprising if there was something inside." Cheetah said.
"If it is, then it would be quite the discovery." Simon said as Cheshire hopped onto his shoulder.
"Oh this is so exciting. We need to go check it out right now." Riolu said.
"Wait a minute… I like that idea. How about we let some of our own Pokemon join in as well?" David asked.
"Sure...let's go." Jexi said.
Following Blastoise's direction, they traversed to the Meteor Cave, which was one giant crater.
"Whoa...that fragment really left its mark." Meowth said.
"Yeah, I can tell. I can feel something in there. There's definitely something inside there." Froslass said.
"Well let's go find out what it is." Cheshire said as Mercury sat on his back.
"This is so exciting. We rarely get the chance to be out and about like this." Lurantis said. "Well, outside of battling, of course."
"Yeah, it's great to have you guys explore this place with-" Bow said before realizing. "Wait a sec, how are you all talking?! You guys are from the regions, right?"
"It's probably 'cause of this world." Robin said. "All pokemon in this world can speak so it wouldn't be strange if Pokemon exposed to this world's air begin to speak also."
"This is great! I finally get to talk with Alice!" Cinderace hopped, excited at having a voice.
"It is quite interesting." Inteleo added.
"Looks like I'm the only one who can actually speak out of my troops though. That's fine. Commander Adora only needs to tell me what to do." Falinks assured.
"You're really phoning in the whole military thing, aren't you?" Mightyena asked.
"Of course, it's in our nature." Falinks replied.
Mercury made a few noises in understanding before his eye looked sad.
"I guess Mercury isn't able to speak despite coming here." Hope said.
"Yes, but he doesn't seem to mind it at all now." Simon's Absol said calmly.
"Why don't you Pokemon go explore it? We'll all wait out here in case you need backup." Jexi said.
"Do not worry. We won't let you guys down." Zamazenta said.
"Hold on, Zamazenta. He just proposed that we go in on our own, and that means…" Zacian said.
"Hell yeah we'll take up that offer! Let's get going!" Galarian Moltres said.
"Uh… Yeah, that." Zacian said.
"Don't worry, we'll be sure to keep things under control." Kamui assured.
"It's not that we're worried about. Trust us… GM would not waste an opportunity to get away from Flamberge." Cinderace said.
"Still...this is going to be fun." Galarian Zapdos said.
They soon departed into the cave with Team Ginhana Sky leading the pack.
"Judging from the looks of things...the cave's likely only 20 floors. And it doesn't look like any other Pokemon are populating it. We should be able to clear it pretty easily." Riolu said.
"Blastoise did mention those things he saw here." Cheshire said.
"Yeah...we should keep an eye out for them." Totodile said. "Like...that!" he said as dropping from the ceiling was a bizarre creature with tentacle-like arms as it glared at the group before rushing in to attack.
"Wait a second. Isn't that...?!" Froslass said before dodging. "Whoa…"
"This must be the weird thing Blastoise was talking about." Pikachu said.
"I can take care of this. Fiery Wrath!" Galarian Moltres said, setting it ablaze with dark flames before it faded to nothing. "Whoa...I knew I was strong but…"
"It wasn't an actual Pokemon. It was a doppelganger." Decidueye said. "Likely spawned by whatever was inside that falling star."
"I'm starting to think that this dungeon has more surprises in store for us than just doppelgangers." Falinks mentioned.
"You have a point. This dungeon was created from the falling star. We have no clue what's waiting for us down there." Riolu said.
"That thing just straight up attacked us without reason. Meaning next time we see them, we need to defeat them immediately." Cinderace said.
"Yeah, if these things got out they could imitate the Pokemon populace, we can't let that happen." Cheshire said.
"I wouldn't worry about that...but yeah. Let's see how deep the dungeon goes." Pikachu said.
They soon proceeded further into the dungeon, fighting off any doppelganger they came across as they descended.
"Whew… I don't know about you guys, but this place has this very spooky feeling." David's Beautifly said. "It's pretty clear that whatever is down here doesn't want us here."
"I don't really think it's spooky. If I think about eating, it's pretty easy to keep my thoughts clear." Cramorant said.
"Food's all you ever think about, Cramorant." Morgrem said. "I'm starting to see why Mermista has so many problems with you."
"We've gone down a number of floors. It feels like we're getting close to the lowest floor. We should be careful...there might be a boss waiting for us." Pikachu said.
"He's not wrong. We had to fight 6 of them in places like this." Totodile said.
"Yeah...so many birds...Groudon...even Rayquaza." Meowth said.
"I'd imagine those weren't pleasant." Zacian said.
"Oh, trust us. They weren't. They were super strong and had the territory advantage." Totodile said. "But by luck and teamwork, we managed to escape with our lives and defeat a number of them."
They soon reached the bottom of the cave.
"This presence is getting very strong. Whatever is lurking is definitely down here." Galarian Articuno said.
They looked to the ceiling and saw images of outer space filled with stars.
"Where...Where am I?" a voice echoed as the scene changed to a nearby forest with a lake. "There was a sudden explosion...and I awakened to this." it said before the cave started to shake.
"Whoa...this is getting intense." Falinks said.
"What is this place?" The voice echoed in anger as a sphere formed before emerging from it was a red creature with tentacle-like arms and a crystal chest. "I am Deoxys...I came from space."
"I knew it… I had a feeling it was you, Deoxys." Froslass said.
"You know of me? I see...then you...you are responsible!" Deoxys said in anger as it attacked Froslass.
"Wh-what?! H-hey, hold on a second!" Froslass said.
"You will tell me...what happened here!" Deoxys said in anger as it created several doppelgangers as they all went on the attack.
"I don't get it...why is…" Meowth said before realizing. "Oh god...don't tell me...was that thing in the falling star Rayquaza blew up?!"
"I think so. That's the only explanation for all of this." Froslass said.
"So Deoxys is directing his anger at us because he thinks we shot him out of the sky?" Cinderace asked.
"Most likely. But he won't listen to us while he is in this state." Cheetah's Luxray said. "We'll have to rough him up a bit and calm him down."
"Right, that's the best option." Simon's Absol said.
"Alright then everyone, in formation!" Falinks called. "This is a Legendary Pokemon we're battling, so we can't afford to make mistakes!"
Deoxys then changed its form as its head became spiked and its tentacles became pointed as they channeled energy into its points.
"Watch it! That's Psycho Boost!" Zamazenta said as they went and dodged the attack.
"Whew… That was close." Froslass said as she launched a Shadow Ball.
Deoxys changed form again, looking more bulky as it crossed its tentacles to create a shield as the Shadow Ball bounced off it.
"He can change forms to suit the environment around him and his battle tactics. This is not going to be easy." David's Beautifly said.
"But it looks like it takes time to change between forms. Maybe we can surprise him." Cinderace said.
"Yes. Seems that way. We might even be able to lure him into a trap." Zacian said.
"Here's what I think. One of us will bait Deoxys into attacking them while another goes and attacks." Cinderace said.
"I'll draw his attacks." Simon's Absol said.
"No...I'll be the bait." Cheshire said. "Deoxys is a Psychic type. He knows he can't injure Dark types. It'll only work if he knows he can injure the other Pokemon."
"Okay...good luck then." Riolu said as Cheshire rushed off.
Deoxys soon took notice of Cheshire as it changed into a more slender form to give chase.
"Catch me if you can!" Cheshire said. He was quickly surprised when Deoxys started to pass. "Whoa...this form must prioritize speed."
Deoxys got in front of Cheshire as he started to change to attack form once more.
"Now's our chance!" Cinderace said as he and the other Pokemon launched an all out attack on Deoxys.
"Alright. From the top!" Froslass said as she launched a Shadow Ball.
"You got it!" David's Beautifly said as she conjured a Silver Wind.
"Here we go!" Lurantis said as she started forming her Solar Blade.
All three attacks hit Deoxys dead on, causing it to fall to the ground.
"We knew we couldn't injure you in defense or speed form. So we waited till you decided to go on the attack." Cinderace said. "Pretty clever right?"
"I...I see…" Deoxys said. "That was actually pretty skillful of you. Who...who are you? Are you...the natives of this world?"
"Yes and...we're very sorry!" Totodile said.
"Sorry?" Deoxys asked.
"It's...a little hard to explain." Froslass said before Deoxys started reading images from Totodile's memories.
"I see now...that's what it was. You were defending this planet." Deoxys said. "So that is what happened. The meteor I was in...was blown apart and scattered. It seems I acted in anger. I'm sorry."
"There's no need to apologize. Anyone in your position would have acted the same way." Lurantis said.
"Deoxys...you've been alone in this cave for a while, haven't you?" Pikachu asked. "If that's the case...you should come out and see the world. Join us."
"An invitation...to join your joint rescue and exploration team." Deoxys said. "I couldn't help but be moved by your joint planning and determination. So...yes. I will join your team."
"Great...so then...let's get outta here." Meowth said.
The groups waited outside the caves but soon saw their Pokemon slowly emerging from the cave.
"Hey, there they are!" Kendo said.
"Wait...hey!" Hope said. "David, that Pokemon with them, isn't that…?"
"No doubt about it. That's Deoxys." David said.
"The Alien Pokemon? This is the first time I've ever seen it." Simon added in awe.
"It's actually DNA Pokemon but it does come from space." Twilight said.
"Hey! Say hello to our newest member!" Riolu said, pointing to Deoxys.
"I am Deoxys. I come from space." Deoxys said.
"Yeah, we kind of figured. Because, well… You see…" David started.
"No need to explain. I know through your memories that you encountered another version of myself in the human world." Deoxys said.
"Er… Yes. And he would like someone to talk to." David said. "Speaking of talking, it felt really nice to hear our Pokemon talking like this."
"Yeah, it's kinda cute hearing how Cheshire and Sigil sound too." Simon said.
"Sigil… is that the nickname you're giving me?" Simon's Absol asked.
"That's right." Simon said.
"I will accept it. Thank you for giving me that name." the now coined Sigil said.
"No problem, that's what partners are for." Simon said as he looked at the cave. "It didn't disappear this time."
"Probably because Mystery Dungeons are common here." Tanya said.
"We didn't originally come here to clear a dungeon, but it looks like luck is on our side." Meowth said as they headed back to Pokemon Square. "Plus we get a new member out of it. And odds are other pokemon are going to be looking to clear these dungeons too."
"We are on a roll here. Where should we start looking next for dungeons?" Theo asked.
"Hey, do you guys mind if we go to my home universe next?" Luz asked.
"The Disney Heart Universe? You think a dungeon could be there?" Hope asked.
"I can think of a few ideas of dungeons there." David said. "Trust me, Hope. We've been at this long enough to expect anything nowadays."
"Let's go check it out then." Corona said.
"Okay...guess we're going home for now." Sora said. "Off we go."
